On checking out, the receptionist failed to spot an outrageous charge (3500 USD for a meal for two in the restaurant). Obviously this was an error, but he seemed perfectly ready to charge this to my credit card. Half an hour when by before we received a feeble apology and an updated bill.

Reviewed Sep 9, 2026I had already paid for both dinner and breakfast as part of my room booking. When I checked in for dinner, I provided my room number to the member of staff. Unfortunately, the room number was recorded incorrectly. After finishing my meal, I was approached and asked to pay for the dinner. I explained that the meal had already been prepaid as part of my booking. It was then established that the staff member had entered the wrong room number when I checked in for dinner. While I appreciate that mistakes can happen, it was disappointing to be approached and chased for payment after I had already paid for the meal. I would suggest that greater care is taken when recording room numbers to avoid similar situations in future.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2026The property is beautiful, and the location is wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. There are also several animals around the property, which adds to the charm. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially Sumith, who was absolutely wonderful. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026Convenient location and friendly staff. Service at the front office was excellent.
Sri Lanka's food quality needs improvement. Overall, Sri Lankan food does not taste good because the ingredients are not used in the correct proportions (e.g., not enough coconut milk in milk rice and hoppers). As a Sri Lankan, I was disappointed with the quality of Sri Lankan food. The restaurant service was poor, and the staff was unwelcoming (this includes Nugagama and Lagoon). Seafood at Lagoon restaurant was expensive and not tasty at all.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026Great location close to key attractions, can walk to Galle Beach, nearby malls, and even some temples if you are up to it. A small mall with some eateries is just next door in case you don't want to eat in-house. Clean, nice facilities, good staff. Enjoyed our stay.
The "garden view" wasn't a view at all - the window showed the adjacent roof. Was not a big problem for us since we were out most of the time.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Cinnamon grand was our last hotel before we flew back home so we only stayed one night - we would have loved to stay many more. The facilities were exceptional - one of the pools we used was the one at breeze bar and so big and we went in the morning so had the whole pool to ourselves! We ate dinner at breeze bar and we loved the atmosphere and the singer. The breakfast buffet was so huge - it had every single food we could have wished for. The room was so pristine and clean. Dumith was really helpful and ensured an easy and smooth check in.
