Location, service are very good. Using the trams as public transport; and there are many opportunities to eat out close-by. A very good coop and pharmacy nearby too! Good to have an iron and ironing board in the cupboard.

With the summer temps being raised we would have enjoyed a top sheet rather than a duvet. And cold water in the little fridge would be good.

We recently stayed three nights at the Basel Marriott Hotel and had a largely wonderful experience. As Marriott Titanium Elite members, we were treated very well—receiving a lovely corner room upgrade (Room 576), complimentary breakfast, and M Club access. We enjoyed The M Club every evening. All these perks significantly enhanced our stay. The location is unbeatable. It sits right across the street from the Messeplatz tram station, making it incredibly easy to get around. Additionally, the hotel provides a complimentary BaselCard, which offers free public transportation and great discounts at local attractions. Our corner room was spacious and featured a complimentary minibar that was restocked daily. While the bathroom was a bit on the smaller side, it was perfectly functional. The only real negative—but a significant one—was the room temperature. Despite the hotel advertising air conditioning, our room consistently hovered between 75°F and 78°F. We had the thermostat on the lowest setting offered. This made sleeping very uncomfortable, especially since the bed only had a thick comforter. If it weren't for the uncomfortably warm room, this would easily be a 5-star stay.

We had an exam in Messe Basel and I needed full focus. The Marriott was the perfect choice. Great staff, quiet rooms, and a very good AC given the current heat wave.

Regulating the shower temperature was a little bit fiddly. (I just write a minor point, the hotel is good).

I had an outstanding stay at the Basel Marriott Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the reception team made me feel genuinely welcome with their warm, professional, and efficient service. A special thank you goes to the M Club Lounge team. Their hospitality, friendliness, and attentiveness were truly exceptional and made every visit to the lounge a pleasure. The housekeeping team also deserves recognition for maintaining the room to the highest standards. Everything was spotless, well organized, and consistently impeccable throughout my stay. Thank you to the entire team for delivering such an excellent guest experience. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

This hotel was a fine base for a few days in Basel. However, we were quite disappointed by a few things. I had contacted the hotel months in advance to request connecting rooms, and then confirmed our request again a couple of days in advance. While I understood that the hotel did not guarantee connecting rooms, I had assumed they would make some effort to reserve them for us if available. However, when we checked in, they did not seem to be aware of the request, and it was clear that no attempt had been made to assign us connecting rooms. Also, the wifi was almost unusable, which was quite surprising for a business hotel.

The biggest advantage of the Basel Marriott Hotel is its location. It's directly next to Messe Basel, the convention center that hosts Art Basel, making it an incredibly convenient place to stay if you're attending the fair. It's also easy to walk into the Old Town and explore the rest of Basel from the hotel. Overall, the hotel was comfortable and met our needs. The room was clean, and I appreciated the exterior blackout blinds, which made it easy to get a good night's sleep. My room, however, had a slanted ceiling that made it feel a bit like an attic, and despite being on an upper floor, there wasn't much of a view. One nice perk was the M Club lounge, which offered water, snacks, and light bites throughout the day. It was a convenient place to stop in between outings. The biggest disappointment involved the laundry service. I sent out a brand-new blouse that I'd only worn once to have a stain removed, and it came back with damaged fabric. The hotel waived the cleaning fee, which I appreciated, but they didn't offer to reimburse me for the damaged blouse. One other thing to note is that parking isn't on-site. If you're renting a car, the parking is several blocks away, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, this was a perfectly fine stay. The location is excellent, especially for Art Basel, but given the very high room rates during the fair, I expected a bit more.

I cannot even put better words to describe the service in this hotel. It’s literally impeccable. Everytime I requested sth, it literally showed up at my front door in 1 min (not even joking). The room was well cleaned and the bed was super comfy (I knew it was a good bed since I didn’t even need 6 hours of sleep and still felt amazing the next morning). On my reservation, it was a default booking for two people (by mistake) and they even thought ahead and prepared a sofa bed to me in advance. The waiter/waitress always looked around attentively to see if any guests needed anything for the breakfast. This hotel is literally my go to in Basel. While it’s not Les Trois Rois, I actually appreciated the large room space I had in this hotel much much more than the heated bathroom floor in Les Trois Rois 😂😂.

Das Zimmer war geräumig, das Bett sehr bequem.

Beim Check-in fühlten wir uns als Schweizer eher deplatziert- die Begrüssung in Englisch, einFormular zur Unterschrift in Englisch. Auf die Frage nach einer Gästekarte: ein fragender Blick. Das Frühstück: kein dunkles Brot. Gipfel nicht geniessbar, fettig und brösmelig. Lachs wie ein Fladen hingelegt. Einfach lieblos. Kompliziert mit dem Tee und dem Kaffee: keine Selbstbedienung.

Die Lage ist top? Das Hotel ist fünf Gehminuten vom Messe Parkhaus und zehn zur Altstadt entfernt.

Beim Check-in können sich Gäste, die sich als sehr wichtig sehen, rücksichtslos vordrängeln und werden vom Personal zuvorkommend behandelt. Das Frühstück Buffet entspricht nicht dieser Hotelkette. Die Qualität ist gerade mal Durchschnitt und die Speisen werden als Haufen dargeboten. Normalerweise ist das Frühstück bei der Marriott Kette immer top. Deshalb sind wir bereit, dafür mehr zu bezahlen. Basel scheint die einzige negative Ausnahme zu sein.

Dass die Bar um 23.45 Uhr bereits geschlossen war, obwohl am Aushang die Öffnungszeit für Samstag auf Sonntag Nacht bis 1.00 Uhr vermerkt war und wir nicht die einzigen waren nach dem Basel Tattio die nicht mehr bedient wurden. Schade für das gute Hotel

Ich hatte ein Zimmer in der obersten Etage gewünscht, dies hat leider nicht geklappt.

Lage war perfekt, wir waren innerhalb 15 Minuten zu Fuß in der Altstadt ! Zimmer waren toll, Betten waren gut

Die Bar hatte am Samstag Abend um 24:00 Uhr geschlossen. Auf den Schildern stand überall, dass die Bar bis 1:00 Uhr geöffnet ist. Als wir mit 6 Mann um 10 Minuten nach 24:00 Uhr noch ein paar Bier trinken wollten, war niemand mehr da. Das ist für so ein Hotel ein absolutes NO GO !!! Klimaanlage in den Zimmern war zu kalt eingestellt ! Kein eigenes Parkhaus oder Parkmöglichkeiten!!

Sehr freundliches Team, dass zum Beispiel beim Frühstück alles möglich macht. Lage ist toll, um in die Innenstadt oder zum Bahnhof zu kommen. Wir hatten wirklich eine sehr schöne Zeit!

Die Lage direkt bei der Messe ist optimal. Auch gut erreichbar mit Tram und in der Nähe zum Claraplatz oder der Kaserne. Das Parkhaus ist mit rund 50 Franken pro Tag etwas teuer, zumal es dunkel und eng ist. Alleine möchte ich da Abends nicht rein.

Der Empfang war OK, auch wenn ich es geschätzt hätte wenn man mich nach meiner Bonvoy Mitgliedschaft gefragt hätte. Auch wäre schön gewesen man hätte darauf hingewiesen, dass im Zimmer keine Mini-Bar vorhanden ist sondern nur ein Kühlschrank und man den Inhalt separat bestellen muss. Haben wir dann halt nicht und uns beim Coop verpflegt. Das Zimmer war ziemlich abgewohnt und "optimiert". Viele kleine Dinge, die das Leben als Hotelgast manchmal vereinfachen, (Nagelfeile, etc.) gibt es nicht (mehr). Moderne Infrastruktur wie USB Steckdosen sucht man vergebens. Trotz der zentralen Lage war das Zimmer recht ruhig, zwischendurch haben halt mal die Trams gerumpelt. Dass an einem Abend mit der Premiere des 20sten Basel Tattoo, das notabene erst gegen 23 Uhr fertig wird dann die Bar um 00:30 schliesst hat uns sehr überrascht. Wir waren in einem guten Gespräch mit Gästen aus Südafrika und hätten da gerne noch etwas geplaudert und unsere Franken in Schottischen Single Malt umgesetzt. Beim Frühstück ist uns das sehr übersichtliche Angebot an Brot aufgefallen, typisch "Baslerische" Brote haben komplett gefehlt. Dass man die Eierspeisen separat bestellen muss und dann halt auch separat essen muss gefällt mir gar nicht; diese Unsitte scheint aber in vielen Hotels (auch mit 5 Sternen) einzuziehen. Bevorzugen würde ich "live cooking" mit Koch oder Köchin wo man die Zutaten oder Zubereitungsart direkt angeben kann und während es brutzelt sich den Rest des Tellers organisiert. Ansonsten ist das Frühstücks-Buffet OK, auch wenn die Präsentation ziemlich unlogisch scheint und das Personal recht unaufmerksam wahrgenommen wurde. Man läuft am Tisch vorbei und hofft, der Gast hat keine Wünsche.

Simply one of the best Marriotts I have stayed in - this property had everything going for it, a wonderful design, comfortable furnishings, a staff that will knock your socks off with kindness and efficiency, and just an overall comfortable experience. I did not try any of the food & beverage (spoiler alert: pretty pricey), so I cannot report on that, but from the hotel standpoint, tip top all the way around!

Excellent location. The hotel doesn't look much from the outside, but it has been fully refurbished inside and everything is immaculate. The staff were very helpful and everything was great.

Could have more staff available at reception, or roaming to make sure guests with quick questions can be attended to and reduce the queues, during busy check-in/check-out times.

Perfect location across the street from the tram. The staff was very professional, friendly and welcoming! They were extremely helpful with directions and using the tram (thank you for the tram passes!) The room was clean and had everything we needed. Enjoyed a glass of wine in the lobby after a long day sightseeing. Would highly recommend!

Breakfast was something special. Staff were capable and helpful. The buffet was excellent and the service was second to none! I've had breakfast at many top rated hotels and the organization and set up of this breakfast was superb.
