The service last couple times service has been very poor, but guy was very helpful this time

Fact have pay extra for lake view never had do this before

Breakfast, would have liked some fruit. Room was lovely, great view - a little outdated but I quite liked the quickness. The vibe was a bit strange since it was next to a deserted holiday park - shame.

Difficulty connecting computer to internet, not sure what happened, my phone was able to connect? Staff were great though and did what they could.

Free breakfast with the genus scheme was a delight

It was like staying in something from the 70's - dining room very outdated. Food was poor if I am honest. And you cannot get external food sent in either; nice little village a 2 min walk away with a lovely pub

Good access to surrounding areas. Breakfast was good, pity the fried eggs are put out and could sit on hotplate for a while.

Rooms could do with a good refurbishment seem a bit dated. Shower took ages to heat up.

The room was bright and airy good size. Free parking, friendly staff. The hotel had improved from the last time we stayed a few years ago.

A shower over a bath is not my preferred arrangement, the bar wasn't well stocked, but the bar staff were friendly.

I always have a pleasant stay at the Lakeside. Lovely staff and the lake itself is amazing, The location is handy for getting into London.

The hotel could do with some updating but I do think that is part of its charm. Ive been in far more expensive hotels that have fallen short of expectations

The Lake view is great and the old lady in the bar is good. Towels were clean.

No aircon. Its old and need a revamp. Food is average. Fish and chips were oily.

I’m afraid this hotel is still stuck in the 80s. The decor doesn’t look to have been touched since then. Artex ceilings and patterned upholstery and carpets everywhere. Rooms large but very unloved in terms of how they’re presented. Just one bedside table for a double bed. Wait staff in the restaurant friendly but not very professional. Lady who served pizzas was lovely. Very old fashioned breakfast service. Fill out a form to say what you’d like to eat! The whole effect said dated and neglected.

Shower wasn't great, and bar and restaurant were very basic, but staff tried hard.

Very clean and set in a wonderful location with friendly staff and Rupac was an exceptional waiter

I got a free room upgrade which definitely impr my stay. Staff were nice, friendly and chatty - very helpful as the hotel was at low occupancy. Some great art in the central reception area

Staff were excellent, food was good, air conditioning worked well and parking was easy, would stay again if in area, nothing too much trouble for the bar/restaurant staff

Liked the view of the lake, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good!

It was confusing where to find reception, I had to ask another guest where it was and I seen another couple also ask. It needs better signage. Also, there was no bedside table on both sides of the bed.

Plenty of parking, well marked signs, spacious room, quiet, comfy beds, smart TV in room, air conditioning and en-suite bathroom

Bathroom was a bit shabby around the edges and this meant it couldn’t be cleaned properly and room very outdated.

Location and hotel were lovely. Staff were very helpful.

There were a lot of Silverfish in both of the bathrooms - we booked 2 rooms. Breakfast time was very short only, one hour 8-9am.

Plenty of parking, lift up to reception and first floor bedrooms. Comfy beds

No soap in the room at all (or shower gel/shampoo) Poor selection of tea & coffee, hidden away in a cupboard & no hot chocolate or biscuits. Carpet’s not cleaned properly in corners and rubbish left on floor.

A bit dated. Dinner menu a bit basic. Young staff tried hard but when taking food order. Food arrived a bit chaotic. Strange at weekend in huge hotel with no one around. Reception variable manned, and same person manned the bar.

Rooms and hotel generally look dated and tired and I had to wait 5 minutes when I arrived because the receptionist was on the phone

The room was very comfortable with everything you require. Air conditioning was a bonus as was the balcony over looking the lake.

Dedicated parking for vans away from the hotel, still in the grounds but not overlooked by rooms. Not allowed to bring your own food into the hotel, impression given that not even in your own space.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was ok. The location was good for what we needed but I would not stay there again.

The room decor is very tired. The cleaners had clearly done their best but when the room itself is pretty worn out there is only so much you can do. The shower was very old and this is the first hotel I have ever stayed in where hand soap is not provided in the bathroom.

Air conditioning was the only real reason to stay there. Breakfast was good too (but not enough staff early on so ended up waiting ages when it was busy).

Moths in the room. Damaged fittings in the bathroom, everything is very dated. Door keys loose and didn't seem that secure. Lake setting would be lovely but has been left to decay.

Would NOT recommend! Rooms don’t seem to have been maintained or renovated since the darts were held here. Carpet, desks and table surfaces thick with dust in the rooms, found hairs on the bath towels had no electricity or lights in the room for over 12 hours one evening (this also happened to another work colleague on a different evening) Restaurant ordered food to be advised after one hours wait they didn’t have what we ordered then waited another hour for food that couldn’t be eaten. My recommendation would be choose a different hotel….. I don’t need luxury just somewhere clean and comfortable.

I had to pay £120 more than my usual £180 for 2 nights but I realise that it’s supply and demand around the Air Show or Ascot.

We had to pay extra to view the lake . The breakfast was over priced for what it was. The shower in the room didn’t work and the lights in the room didn’t all work . Nobody mentioned that part of the hotel was occupied by immigrants / refugees. Doors to balcony did not lock.

Room was a great size . Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was good.

We had no view. There wasn't any bedside lights. Bathroom lacked anywhere to put things.

Honestly nothing to like about this hotel

It’s un clean, not as described or advertised, the hotel room had broken facilities, I got a refund and left immediately to find another hotel, it’s over priced for how poor it is. The only saving grace was I got my money back as the staff member saw for themselves how bad the room was given.

Location, cleanliness, decent sized rooms, comfortable bed, air conditioning and beautiful foyer. Lakeside views.

It just needs a little updating, sockets were few and bathroom door didn’t close unless locking it. Small leak when showering through bath screen. Outdoors steps in need of a paint and picnic tables need attention.

Can't fault the stay for the cost. Checking easy, room was fine, shower powerful and had a great night's sleep as rooms cool and comfy and quiet. Ate in the restaurant and the food was brilliant. Friendly staff. Had drinks at the bar and again very lovely staff and prices cheaper than expected. Loads of parking. Can't fault it for location and price.

Was ok but in room 200 we kept having trouble to open the door to the balcony. It kept pulling the surround away as well, if you try to open the lock it’s we had to get a lady from the reception to bring someone down to check check force and then the next day we arrived we had to get the cleaner to open it for us and the lock doesn’t go all the way down. We didn’t realise you only had to put it down halfway to open the door which is wrong.

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber blöderweise nur im Keller bekommen und oben im ersten Stock klappt viel schönere Ausblicke. Hab Frühstück gebucht. Bin um 8:30 Uhr runtergekommen. Hab leider keinen Kaffee mehr bekommen. Dürfte ich mir ein Pulver Kaffee aufgießen das ist der große minus das fand ich sehr schlecht ganz kleine Auswahl an Frühstück kein Käse nur Würstchen Rührei und Speck hätte ich bissle mehr erwartet Trotz allem sehr schöne Stelle muss man bloß drauf achten, dass du kriegst ein Zimmer im ersten Stock 😜🙃

Habe kein Kaffee mehr bekommen und das Zimmer war im keller

The ambience was great, location was perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Pretty location. Plenty of parking. Had functioning air con in a record breaking heart wave. Staff nice. Good breakfast.

Functional and mostly clean but must be hard for the cleaners to polish it up when it's such old decor. Tired / rundown, needing some love and updating. Reminds me of the 90"s. Room was in need of repairs, bits of the sink fittings were missing, toilet roll holder loose. Door handle loose. Moths in the bedding. Pool hasn't been open for years apparently, but photos of it are shown when booking to make your think it is still available.

They allowed us to book last minute. The restaurant/bar was nice and the outside area long the lake.

There were bugs on the windowsill and on top of the bed.

Been staying here for 45 years use like the rooms

After 35years last 2 visits been given basement room and if I wanted view of lake had upgrade, never had pay upgrade before wont start now, will not return.

Room overlooking the lake, room made up daily with fresh towels. Totally suitable for our purpose

Restaurant closed at 8pm so because of our work and the time we got back we were unable to use it.

The reception staff are fabulous really helpful, the room we had was clean, clean towels each day & the room was serviced. The pizza was really tasty. Good location. Coffee machine in the room & the room was ok space wise.

The hotel is very very dated, old carpets cover the floors, curtains & furniture are from a different era, the outside area had hanging flowers baskets, covered in cobwebs, breakfast was not nice, tea & coffee from a flask. The balconies themselves are a silver outdated structure, hotel has potential but needs alot of tlc to bring it up to standard.

Dirty, poorly maintained hotel with serious accessibility issues and an even worse complaints process. Our room was filthy, with cobwebs hanging above the bed, a damaged bathroom door, a faulty toilet and a room that was freezing cold. The lift was also out of order, causing significant difficulties as I am disabled. The biggest issue, however, was the way the complaint was handled by Lynn, the Reservations Manager. Rather than investigating fairly, she dismissed the concerns raised, repeatedly challenged my account and made me feel as though I was being accused of lying. A poor hotel experience made even worse by rude, defensive customer service and a complete lack of accountability. Would not stay again and would not recommend.

The location and the staff. I also had a very nice supper.

It was fine for me although I would have preferred a room looking out over the lake rather than over the car park.

The surroundings that it was in and the room size. It was a reminder of another era!

That the lift was out of action and that no rooms had a shower cubicle only. 2 arm chairs would have been nice so both people could sit and relax

I did not stay the night and decided to drive home instead. I did not feel comfortable in the hotel. I could not get the tv to work properly and there was road noise.

Apart from the out of date cereal the breakfast was nice

My breakfast cereal box was a few months out of date. Had a terrible noise which sounded like pipes above making sounds all through the night.

Friendly and comfortable. Over all a bit dated. I have been staying here for a couple of days at a time for the past four years and like the atmosphere.

Electric key tag did not always work, and the curtain rail had no end stop and was falling off the rail.

The rooms did not reach our expectations. There was a number of areas that needed to be updated. 1. The bathroom needed to be updated climbing into a bath at 72years of age was differcult no safety rails. Showers are used these days especially for Senior . 2. We found a number of minor items with the room ; bedside light no bulb, key holder broken, felt itchy in the first room 154 change to 143

They don’t provide water bottles and they said I have to use tap water ( sink) instead

We really enjoyed our stay. It was so quiet and peaceful. We went for a lake view room with a balcony. The beds were very comfortable and we had air con which was a must in the very hot weather we had.

The drinks were very expensive down at the bar so we only had the one. Pizza wasnt great either.

Peaceful, spacious, dated but I liked that . Plenty of parking . Lovely shower ,air conditioning was good.

The bed was lovely and big and comfy as were the pillows.

There were no signs inside to show you how to get from A to B. I ended up walking around looking for signs. That was frustrating.

We had the room with parking view, down in the basement- we couldn’t open the window because was so loud. I was expecting to have room with the lake view. Breakfast wasn’t nice either
