Hotel Descalzo SPA

- Las instalaciones están excelentes y el servicio del staff es buenísimo. La ubicación (física, más de eso en lo contras) es excelente en Zipo pues estás a 3 minutos caminando del Adoquín y casi en medio de toda la playa. - Las instalaciones frente al mar son muy buenas (palapas, camastros y bar) y la alberca tiene buena sombra por las palmeras en momentos de sol a plomo. - El mar en esa zona es mucho más tranquilo que en la parte pegada a las piedras por lo que puedes nadar con más confianza. - Durante EL DÍA, el tener ventana de piso a techo en la habitación permite que escuches las olas perfectamente, y el mosquitero de la cama funciona excelentemente bien. - Para aquellos que aún en playa les gusta bañarse con agua caliente, la regadera es perfecta. (esto no es tan común en Zipo).

- Otros viajeros han advertido del ruido del bar "La Maxima" de al lado, pero se quedan MUY cortos. ES IMPOSIBLE DORMIR ENTRE LAS 11:00 Y LAS 2:00 DE LA MAÑANA. En el bar ponen la música a un volumen intolerable. Toda la tranquilidad y calma que tienes en el día se pierde al no poder dormir un MARTES en la madrugada. Solo por ese detalle mi calificación de ubicación no es alta. - El internet del cuarto fue algo inestable en una video-llamada importante, PERO es más fuerte en recepción (y el personal me apoyó con incluso OTRA red). Si tienes una junta crítica que requiere atención, mejor pide apoyo de hacerla ahí desde el inicio.

La cabaña de arriba es de un gusto exquisito. Idílica. La cama y almohadas un muy cómodas, preciosas vistas y el complejo del hotel cuidado al detalle. Mención especial a la piscina que fue nuestro refugio climático en plena hola de calor, lo cual hizo que dor'ir por las noches sin aire acondicionado fuera muy dificil.

Hay que tener en cuenta el calor y humedad de Zipolite a la hora de elegir habitación. Las de arriba son preciosas pero la falta de aire acondicionado hizo q la experiencia tuviera momentos duros. También saber que la zona puede ser altamente ruidosa por los chiringuitos de la playa.

El servicio personalizado, los detalles, las amenidades, el contacto cálido, el cafecito y agua permanente, la ubicación, la playa y los servicios como club de playa, restaurante y bar y su calidez, instalaciones espectaculares y cómodas.

The location is excellent, and the staff is highly professional and responsive to all inquiries. The restaurant and bar facilities offer exceptional quality.

I have stayed here a few times and always have a wonderful experience. The location is great, mid beach and near the adoquín for quick walks into town the upper rooms have a beautiful view of the beach and ocean (but no A/C in those rooms)

The pool could be a little better maintained but it is still quite enjoyable. The nice thing is, it’s a small property and we have made many friends with other guests at the pool.

From the beginning Manuel looked after me. Beautiful room, right by the beach. Free morning coffee, water in the fridge. Organised taxis. Loved it!!

Localización excelente, el personal súper amable. Las habitaciones son bonitas y cómodas. Nos regalaron un coco de bienvenida y nos dejaron extender el check out sin problema.

The location is amazing- steps from the beach, you can hear the waves crash from your room. The staff were amazing and help led us with every query we had. They were available on WhatsApp all the time and got us taxis, helped us get some laundry done and gave us tips about where to go.

Our room was an upper room without air con - in late April the room was very hot always. The fans didn’t do much to help so it was hard to sleep. The nearby Rasta bar on the beach play music quite late too so our first night (Saturday) this was very loud. Also the upper room is quite open to the elements. With gaps in windows and roof so if you’re scared of bugs / lizards this might not be the place for you.

Great location, steps for the beach, responsive staff, 5 minute walk from the center of town, great restaurants close by, quiet and relaxing jungle style environment, was able disconnect hustle of life in the city.

Mosquitoes, but I don’t think you can escape them anywhere along the beach/coast.

This hotel should be a 9.5 or higher. Our first stay here and it was wonderful. The negative reviews apparently can’t read the room descriptions which clearly state which rooms have air conditioning. We opted to stay in the upper level rooms, which do not have air conditioning. We actually got cold at night, with just the fans running. The location is great, the beach bar is one of the prettiest on the beach. The hotel employees were all great, including especially Mario. Strongly recommend if you want a luxurious but eco-style experience…

perfect located, next to the beach, a small house with our room on the ground floor. It has slightly open wooden windows/doors, so you always have a cool breeze in the room - we did not need to use the fan/AC. The beach and the beachbar are idyllic and relaxing (we enjoyed the drinks there). They even provide you with earplugs if you are sensitive to the music from the bars. Stylish interior. Very friendly staff, free water and coffee at the reception.

No hacen claridad que hay unos cuartos sin aire acondicionado. Esto me parece grave de parte de ellos y de booking no tener esa claridad porque es un sitio de mucho calor. Y siendo así el precio es muy alto para no cumplir con esto

The location is amazing. It’s on the beach but set back and feels very private. It’s close to all the restaurants and bars too. The rooms are really nice with really cool style.

I honestly have no complaints. It's a bit of a drive from the airport, but that keeps most of the more undesirable tourists away; so that's a bonus for us!

This property was incredible. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the cleaning of the rooms is very good as well. I enjoyed the location as it was close to the beach, but not quite on it (I prefer this). The garden is beautiful and well maintained, the pool area was a little dirty but I think it was just the fact it is located in nature. If I ever visit Zipolite again, Hotel Descalzo will be my number one option.

Beautiful rooms in a beautiful location, just steps away from the beach. Great hotel restaurant and bar too. The spa was easy to book and very enjoyable. We enjoyed the pool very much as well. Staff were fantastic and so helpful.

The room was quite dark, so better lighting would help a lot.

We were very unfortunate and during our stay there was a music rave next to the hotel almost every night. It made it difficult to sleep. It seems that it happens in special dates, as new year. It is not the hotel fault but I would consider to go back in any big date.

Al ser construcciones tipo cabañas, la habitación no tenía aire acondicionado, pero tenía ventiladores. Sería el único punto negativo.

Hotel a pie de playa, son módulos de dos plantas. Nosotros estábamos en la primera planta. La cama super confortable, bañera y ducha. Sin duda volveré o volvería. Nombrar a Manuel un profesional resolutivo.

Beautiful hotel only steps away from a pristine beach. We loved our stay here. Rooms are clean and spacious. Beds are comfy and large. Shower and bath areas are great too. Pool located in the grounds of the hotel but the beach is literally a stones throw away. Beach bar with reasonable prices and great service. So chilled and relaxed and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be going back.

Some of my friends said their rooms were dusty.

The location close to the beach was very nice with plenty of vegetations. We liked the rustic vibe of the room and surroundings. Nice bar and restaurant with good food.

The bathtub drain plug wasn't sealing so we couldn't take a bath. The water of the pool was cold caused by surrounding trees all around the pool and leaves were all over the deck. While it is the low season they should consider giving the pool deck and surrounding a fresh coat of paint. It was my wife birthday so they offered us flowers and a bottle of wine which we appreciated, I assumed it was complimentary since they never mentioned the price so we got hit with a 900 pesos charge for a cheap bottle of rosé when we checked out. Like other reviews mentioned the Disco next door starts playing at around 11pm and plays all night into the early morning. You hear that bass stumping all night long.

Un poco incomodas las almohadas, el aire acondicionado no sentía que tuviera la potencia que desearía, hay muy poca luz en la parte de abajo y a parte las ventanas no se abren completamente para tener luz natural adentro de la habitación, si tuviera un tipo de persiana plegable o algo que permita tener mas luz estaría genial

La cómoda de el bicho, la comodidad de la habitación en general y la alberca bajo los árboles y palmas. Además de los masajes en el spa, fueron muy relajantes.

The whole property is basically beachfront and has all the amenities you could need for a couple getaway. The room included a very nice tub, a proper working AC, a shower and a tub, great decorations, and also a small outdoor terrace with a hammock which was very nice to have at night. Outside the room the grounds are covered with palm trees and really make you feel like in a little resort. The pool is also very nice, a bit small if the the hotel is full but for us it was perfect.

There is no food, or beverage service at night. Also no minibar if you want to have something to drink at night and keep it cold since there are no shops close.

The staff was very helpful and nice!!

El lugar ideal para descansar y relajarse; pocos camastros y palapas en la playa, en temporada alta debe ser imposible alcanzar alguno. El personal, lo MEJOR del Hotel, atentos desde antes de la llegada y durante toda la estancia. Sin duda una gran elección.

No air con!! It gets soooooo hot

What did I like? Everything. The property itself is stunning, clean, and just a few steps away from the ocean where you can enjoy a delicious meal, or a few beers or cocktails at a variety of places depending on your mood. Every morning, reception offers free coffee or water for guests. The rooms are beautiful with big comfortable beds, incredible pillows, and my room had a giant, comfortable bathtub. A nice treat after traveling Oaxaca for a couple weeks. Every staff member from check-in, to a massage, to general questions make you feel as if you're at home and "family" has been waiting for you. Will absolutely return.

This isn't a negative for the hotel, and just an FYI for future guests. The beach is an optional nude beach, so don't be surprised like I was, lol. Enjoy yourself and let loose if you choose!
