Yak and Yeti is very close by to Thamel making it good for shopping. I especially enjoyed the stay the food was nice at the bar. I enjoyed that the place is very clean and has a cozy environment. The servers at the bar were very nice and were able to cater to our requests. Their names are Abiral, Dilip, Sanjeev. They were also very friendly which made the time at the bar nice. The rooms were nice very very modern.
The experience we had Lounge 77 was amazing!! The food is sensational, Rakshya is the BEST server, and we came back for drinks every evening.
Now my hearts belongs to lounge and lounge team every one specially ismarika , prtikshya, aviral and others Best service and team
We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Kathmandu. We stayed in the Club Shangri-La King room for 9 days and each day was amazing. The Hotel is centrally located and most places are easily accessible. We would especially like to mention the team at The Club Shangri-La lounge. Amar, Suman, Ayushma and Shradha took exceptional care and made sure that everything was perfect. Their warm smiles and genuine commitment to make our stay memorable, was commendable. The lounge served very tasty and freshly prepared items daily from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Fresh juices, tea, coffee, healthy snacks and mouthwatering side dishes. They ensured that our son’s birthday celebration was memorable and something to cherish. A special thanks to Aayushma for keeping our son engaged with interesting facts about the hotel and patiently listening to his stories. The buffet breakfast served in The Spice Room also deserves a special mention as everything was tasty and they went the extra mile to ensure that the tea was to our liking and the dosas were always crispy. Our son loved the pancakes made on special request. Jhapad, Anisha and John knew what we wanted and everything was ordered even without reminding them once. Other things including the room, swimming pool and the garden were all well maintained and up to the standards of a five star property but it was their hospitality (from the guard all the way to the management staffs) that made it exceptional. We would recommend the hotel and would definitely come back to enjoy the warm hospitality.
A wonderful hotel set in beautiful gardens. Rooms were great and staff very professional. The hotel is peaceful and calm. Location was excellent and easy to get to and from.
Three of us stayed at Yak & Yeti before and after our Kailash Parikrama, and it was a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and very welcoming. Our rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. What truly made our stay memorable was the exceptional staff. Everyone we interacted with was professional, warm, and genuinely helpful. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all excellent, and we’ll definitely miss both the delicious food and the wonderful hospitality. My apologies if I’ve missed a few names, but a special thank you to Jhapad, John, Anisha, Manisha, and Raj for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable. ❤️
Stay was very good. Excellent service and unforgettable experience. Thank you everyone especially Aruna GRA appreciate it all your effort.
I had a wonderful stay at the Yak & Yeti in Nepal and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kathmandu, especially solo travellers. From the moment I arrived, the service was excellent. The airport pickup and drop-off were included and made the arrival and departure completely stress-free. The hotel itself is peaceful and relaxing, with beautiful gardens that provide a lovely escape from the busy city. The breakfast was satisfying, with a good selection of options, including gluten-free choices, which I really appreciated. I had booked a Club Shangrila room, which was overlooking the gardens, it was clean and and very comfortable. What truly made my stay special, however, was the Club Shangri-La team — Aayushma, Shradha, Amar and Suman. They were consistently warm, welcoming and attentive throughout my stay. After a long day of sightseeing, it was always such a pleasure to return and be greeted by the team with a glass of wine and great conversation. As a solo traveller, I particularly appreciated how attentive they were. They took the time to chat, make me feel welcome and offer excellent suggestions for places to visit and things to do. Their genuine hospitality made me feel very comfortable and well looked after throughout my stay. A special thank you to the team for making my time at the Yak & Yeti so enjoyable. Their service and warmth really stood out and added something special to my trip. I hope I will be able to return soon.
Great property, centrally lcoated, good staff and value for money. It was a really nice experience to stay at Yek & Yei Kathmandu. This was my second visit. The staff was amazing the rooms were great and the value for money is also good.
I really enjoyed my stay. The atmosphere was welcoming, the place was clean, and everyone made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. A special thank you to Aayushma, Shradha, Amar, and Soman for their kindness and service; they truly made my experience memorable.
Staying in yak and yeti is one of our best decisions. We have a lots of fun . Specially thanks to mr prem and pratik form room service for their incredible service at night . Making our stay more joyful
We had our son’s wedding there and stayed there for almost a month. The staff could not have been more helpful. Specially, Ms Sudha and Mr Sushant were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help and support us. The facility is excellent, food is excellent. Considering the quality of I would say the price is very reasonable. We plan to stay there every time we visit Kathmandu.
Location was very convenient. Atmosphere was beautiful. Rooms were iconic. It was nice gesture on your part to upgrade rooms.
I had a wonderful 3-night stay at the Hotel Yak & Yeti, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The property itself is beautiful, what made our trip unforgettable was personal hospitality shown to my family. (The Club Lounge): We spent every afternoon and evening here, and it quickly became our favorite spot, thanks entirely to the incredible team. Shradha, Aayushma, Amar, and Suman showered my daughter, Avery, with so much genuine warmth and care. Avery absolutely loved chatting with each of them, and they made her feel so incredibly welcome. A huge thank you to them for always looking out for her and keeping her happy—she always talks about how much she loved the pita bread and chickpeas dip ! (The Breakfast Buffet): The morning team brought so much energy for the start of the day. Chef Rajendra made the most delicious ham and cheese scrambled eggs for us exactly to our liking. Jhapad gave us wonderful recommendations for local food to try, and we were incredibly impressed that he remembered our exact coffee choices from the very first day. I highly recommend Hotel Yak & Yeti to anyone visiting, especially families. We will definitely be back!
The service and ambience were immaculate. Really loved the food there and Sonika was very hospitable and welcoming. They took really good care of us and made sure they checked in often :)
Soniya 😍 Good service excellent service by soniya 😍good ambiance good food everything perfectooooooooo MVP : Soniya
Really enjoy dinning here. The service was top notch specially Ms. Sonika.
Food and ambiance are both good . Soniya waiter is so good so polite ❤️ Perfectoooooooooo
The renovated rooms with balcony in Shangrila floor with garden view are amazing. Buffet breakfast and dinner at chimneys or spice kitchen was awesome and well served. Room. Amenities and hotel ambience is great.
The checking staff messed up my booking with a room in heritage suite with no hot water and had to change it later to the right room. The bar service is absurd and the server is always nosy.
Very attentive & helpful staff and the food & cocktails are delicious
Great location and nice staff
No iron in the room and limited toiletries
Amazing hospitality Very helpful staff Special thanks to Aruna
Perfect Location ❤️Warm Hospitality Thank you roji for your help and service during dinner time takecare. See you again
On our last day in Kathmandu, we decided to opt for some international flavors, ordering the chicken biryani and chicken stroganoff. Our experience was made even better by Rabi, a wonderful staff member who served us wholeheartedly, stayed incredibly attentive, and always greeted us with a warm smile.
出哈登a lovely time at the chimney and the staff sonika and rabi were excellent
A gem in the heart of Kathmandu. Beautiful location. Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet amazing! We loved our stay.
Our stay at Yak & Yeti was brief, spread across two separate transit stops in Kathmandu, but what an experience it turned out to be. This is one of those rare properties that manages to preserve its history without feeling dated. The heritage architecture is beautifully maintained and every corner of the hotel seems to tell a story. Knowing that the property houses the oldest chimney in Kathmandu only adds to its charm. Staying here felt like stepping into a living piece of history while still enjoying all the comforts and luxuries of a modern five-star hotel. We opted for the Shangri-La Package and it was absolutely worth it. The lounge access curated by Mr Aman and Mr Suman alone elevated the experience. It included an excellent buffet breakfast, a delightful high tea each evening and a generous evening spread of snacks accompanied by premium single malts. It felt less like a hotel package and more like an indulgent retreat within the hotel itself. The location is another major advantage. Situated in one of Kathmandu's most refined neighbourhoods, it offers a calmer and more elegant atmosphere than the bustle of Thamel while still being close enough to enjoy it. We found ourselves just a short walk away from the city's main attractions while returning each evening to a far more peaceful setting. The rooms deserve special mention. Spacious, elegant and thoughtfully designed, they embody understated luxury. We stayed on the fourth floor overlooking the pool, and the view added a lovely sense of calm to the experience. The bathrooms were equally impressive, with large bathtubs that were perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. There is an undeniable sense of opulence throughout the property, but it is tasteful rather than ostentatious. What impressed me most, however, was the staff. I generally find large luxury hotels a little impersonal and often prefer homestays for the warmth and authenticity they offer. Yak & Yeti completely changed that perception. The staff were genuinely friendly, approachable and eager to help. Whether it was sharing local recommendations, helping with bookings or simply checking in on our plans for the day, they made us feel less like guests and more like welcome visitors. The concierge team was especially helpful. They assisted us with various arrangements during our stay and even organised our airport transfers for our Everest mountain flight experience, making everything completely hassle-free. The hotel itself is exceptionally well-equipped with shops, a salon, spa, swimming pool and tennis courts, many of which were included under our package. It is the kind of property where you could easily spend an entire day without ever leaving the premises. A special mention must go to the team at Spice Room. The service was outstanding and the dining experience was memorable throughout our stay. The breakfast deserves particular praise. Quite simply, it was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. The variety, quality and attention to detail were exceptional. Yak & Yeti strikes a balance that very few hotels manage to achieve. It is luxurious without being intimidating, historic without feeling old and professional without sacrificing warmth. For anyone visiting Kathmandu, whether for a longer stay or simply in transit as we were, this is a property I would recommend wholeheartedly. We arrived expecting a comfortable place to stay. We left wishing we had booked more nights.
Centrally located huge property, very good service, nice helping staff. very good dinning in Spice restaurant.Club rooms are very nice and associated facilities makes stay wonderful
Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Yak & Yeti. The Room Service team provided exceptional hospitality and made our stay truly memorable a special thanks to Basanta and Sanish for their professional friendly and attentive service. Thank you for the warm hospitality. Highly recommended! 😊
I had a nice experience at the hotel. Neha made sure that the stay was awesome. Will visit again in future.
Whilst staying at the hotel (which is gorgeous and an absolute sanctuary within the city noise) I ate dinner at The Spice Room. The food was the best I have eaten since being in Nepal and the service was exceptional. Rajanish made sure I was looked after and was the perfect server ☺️ 100% recommend!
This is a lovely hotel. The rooms are very nice and clean. The food is good. The staff is very helpful and friendly and all speak English. I would definitely recommend it for business and personal travel.
Absolutely lovely experience dining in this beautiful restaurant. Our waiter Durga was superb and offered a most attentive dining experience! We highly recommend eating here!
One of the best and most beautiful hotels in Kathmandu! Great service, extremely helpful and communicative staff, and central location. Helped organize an international conference with more than 500 participants and everything was organized smoothly. Specific gratitude to Barsha, Muskan, Shisham and the housekeeping staff for making the stay for all delegates comfortable and memorable.
We had a excellent dining experience at spice room .The food was absolutely delicious, with rich flavour, beautifully presented dishes. A special mention goes to Rajanish for his outstanding services. He was professional, attentive, friendly and ensured that we were comfortable throught our experience. This was my first five star experience, the combination of food and warm hospitality services made our visit memorable. Will be definitely returning soon ♥️
Thank you guys for the wonderful service. You guys took care of us very well. Looking forward to seeing you soon
Our stay was very memorable and comfortable. Muskan from Guest Relations was so warm and thoughtful—she guided us, planned our day, and suggested Samyaroof Garden as her go-to place, which we absolutely loved. Her kindness and care made us feel truly welcomed. She is amazing. Thank you to the entire team as well.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Yak and Yeti. The food was excellent, the people were warm and welcoming, and the club lounge and rooms were outstanding. A special thanks to Club Manager Shradha for taking such great care of the club floor and ensuring excellent service throughout our stay. We would also like to thank Amar and Suman from the lounge team for their kindness and hospitality. Their service and attention made our experience even more memorable. We will always remember this hotel and its exceptional hospitality. Thank you for everything!
I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Yak and Yeti, especially at the Club Shangrila VIP Floor. The hospitality, professionalism, and overall atmosphere were excellent throughout my stay. A special thank you to Shradha, who looks after Club Shangrila so well. She was extremely attentive, courteous, and always ensured guests felt comfortable and welcomed.I would also like to appreciate the outstanding service provided by the two servers, Amar and Suman. Both were friendly, professional, and very prompt in their service. Their warm attitude and dedication truly made the experience more enjoyable.Thank you to the entire team for the excellent hospitality. I look forward to visiting again.
Everything
Very well taken care off, great food and ambience. Everyone was very warm and sincere with the service provided. Exceeded our expectations. Felt right at home especially after returning from EBC.
Very high end hotel in the center of the city. Great staff and service. Very clean and comfortable. Spa and health center were a nice surprise. Breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend
Recently came back from Nepal and had a good stay at Hotel Yak & Yeti. The hotel location is close to “downtown”, so there are quite a few places that are within walking distance. Due to our schedule, we had check in and out of the hotel a few times within 2 weeks. The staff we encountered were always nice and friendly. We had stayed at both the new wing and the Heritage wing. Personally I prefer the new wing as it’s more modern. There are a lot of variety at the breakfast buffet, and the service staff are attentive. We had the pleasure of meeting the following individuals who made our stay special: Saligram (maitre d), Rajendra (at the omelette station), Naresh (who introduced us to a variety of dosa), Anisha (who always greeted us with a sweet smile), Jhapad and Pramod (they made sure we got our tea and drinks), and also John (who had also took my orders of dosa). On our last day we attended a tour of the palace ground given by Muskan at guest services. She gave us a lot of historical information and background of the hotel, and we thoroughly enjoy this tour as we learned so much more about the hotel (which was a palace) and Nepal’s history. We were so glad we found out about this tour and Muskan was available to guide us. Overall I enjoy my stay and would consider staying there again if I go to Kathmandu in the future.
Book a suite room and you will experience the best services Nepal can offer... Personal manager, best staff and service..
Y&Y Hotel, at one time a palace, provides spectacular and colorful gardens surrounding the pool and tennis courts and is located just a couple of hundred yards away from the main street of Kathmandu producing a quiet area away from the incessant traffic. The Garden of Dreams and National Palace Museum are easily within walking distance. The interior of the hotel is an art gallery. In addition to the pieces of art punctuating the lobbies and convention center, the hallways feature artistic pieces of all kinds. While we only ate breakfast at the hotel, the buffet was quite varied with foods for everyone. The staff were congenial and helpful in every occasion, but particularly the Concierge went out of her way to help us. She was almost like a friend by the time we left after our several days at the hotel.
Lovely property, very nice service, clean always, well maintained and manicured, good food, room service was always prompt
There are so many wonderful things to say about this hotel. It is an a great location, it is a beautiful facility, the grounds are magnificent, and the staff is amongst the best I have ever worked with. They are professional, friendly, efficient and definitely aim to please! We stayed here for eight nights and enjoyed every minute of our hotel experience. The only slightly negative experience we had was massages. Neither one of us had a great experience with that, but they were adequate if not exceptional.
Beautiful and authentic Nepali property
Yak and Yeti is a very nice hotel providing first class accommodations and is close to the airport and shopping including the Thamel shopping district. I highly recommend it. The food at the hotel is excellent with a fantastic breakfast. The serving staff is always pleasant and go out of their way to serve. I want to particularly recognize Jhapud and Anisha for great service and chef, Rajendra for whipping up wonderful breakfast omelets and other egg dishes. Good work and great smiles!
Best hotel in heart of city. Floor manager Ms Upreti was very helpful in providing the room with best view of garden.
My entire experience at the Yak and Yeti has been excellent. This iconic and historic hotel has always been known for luxury, but the incredibly friendly staff is what made my stay truly memorable. The staff at the club Shangri La (Shradha, Amar and Suman) truly went above and beyond to make me feel at home and taken care of. They are incredibly attentive. Jhapad at the breakfast buffet always takes care of my needs before I even have to ask. The front desk staff is exceptional and the housekeeping staff is as well. Thanks for another great stay, Yak and Yeti!
The staff were very helpful and happy, especially in the restaurant for breakfast. I did like the walking track and tennis courts.
The smokers!! In the bar area.
This beautiful elegant hotel is an oasis in the middle of the chaos of Kathmandu. The rooms are large and well appointed and there is a large quiet park like grounds in front of the hotel. I agree that the breakfast is a must - best breakfast that I have had ever! I particularly appreciated the kindness and good service provided by the staff (Jhapad in the dining room and the Conseirge Manager on the 4th Floor were especially helpful to me).
The entire staff at Yak and Yeti are outstanding! They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and appreciated. From the front desk, to the dining staff, to the bellmen, the cleaning staff, absolutely everyone in the Yak and Yeti building is truly the best. Special thanks to Sabita, Jhapad, and Anisha for their amazing hospitality.
The hotel is so unique and classic. Customer service is the best. Many thanks to the staff in the Spice Room - hotel restaurant which provides delicious food. Oh my God, their breakfast is WOW. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and friends.
Beautiful historic hotel
The facilities could be better maintained, particularly the spa
Fantastic location, good breakfast and excellent staff and hospitality. Special mention has to go to Miss Muskan at guest relation exec. She went out of her way to assist with my questions and assisting me in making sure I had a safe to pasupathinath temple. Will definitely come back here again
Our stay at Hotel Yak & Yeti was fantastic. Muskan was one of the best, and the LDCC tour she arranged for us was a highlight of our visit.
Everything
Nothing
The grounds were landscaped and inviting. Spices restaurant was very good and the service was excellent.
Loved my stay at Yak & Yeti, as always I always stay here when I’m in Kathmandu. This time I was on the Club Floor (4th floor with lounge), and the service was absolutely fantastic. The staff were so attentive and amazing. I’ll definitely be back and will ask for this floor again. ✨
Very good, good atmosphere, good rooms, good room service, good care, good resturant, good ambience, good lounge, good food
This is a great hotel in central Kathmandu. The rooms are very nice and the rates are very reasonable. The staff is very helpful and go out of their way to help you and answer any questions. The grounds have much history and they will give you a free tour if you ask. Only warning is that if you are there during “wedding season” and have a room overlooking the gardens, any events might be a bit more “participatory” than planned (We were there for 5 weddings over 8 days. 4 were no problem, one felt like we were in the middle of a disco-Bollywood production). Overall a great place and highly recommended.
We stayed here a week while attending a wedding. Great ambiance; fabulous service from everyone (esp by Muskan, Japhad and Rikesh); comfortable lodging and tasty, dependable food quality. We had a Heritage room overlooking the garden with a fridge, AC, queen bed and a waterfall head shower stall in the bathroom. Central location in Kathmandu was perfect. Look forward to returning!
Room very comfy n clean. Staff very nice and helpful always with a smile, front desk recommendation to drishtee, shisham and jasma, f&b especially to naresh and amisha. An experience warranting another stay very soon.
Nice high-end hotel. The facilities were lovely, with two great restaurants and spa facilities. The room was comfortable and clean, and the location was decent.
I stayed at Yak & Yeti before and after my hike to Everest Base Camp and found the hotel warm and inviting, with incredible attention to detail from the ENTIRE staff. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, the breakfast buffet was extensive with an egg station and yummy surprises brought to your table. Most of all, I must give much praise to the 4th Floor Shangri-La Club Team - Shradha, Amar, and Suman. They were always wonderful, kind, and cheerful. They actually made our day with a surprise for the completion of our hike upon our return. It was like visiting your best friend after a long day out. Highly recommend getting a club-level rooms! You won't regret the hospitality, food, and drink.
I had a good stay - had booked online as was attending a conference at the same venue The location was good and staff very friendly and helpful I used their concierge for temple darshan which was quite reasonable Overall good experience
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Yak & Yeti before and after my EBC Trek. The location is very convenient for walking to great shopping, dining and exploring Kathmandu. From the door greeters, front desk staff, calming gardens, the bar, exceptional breakfast, comfortable rooms, I could not have been more pleased. Special shout out to the Club Shangri-La team on the executive level. Shrada, Amar and Suma went above and beyond with their hospitality and kindness and surprised our trekking team with a wonderful cake and celebration upon returning from EBC. Yak & Yeti was a highlight of my adventure in Nepal!
We celebrated Mother’s Day with a dinner at Hotel Yak and Yeti, at the Spice Room restaurant, and it was a truly wonderful experience. A special thanks to Rojen Maharjan for being extremely cooperative and supportive throughout. From arranging the invitation to helping with the menu and coordinating the dinner, everything was handled smoothly. Appreciated the effort and hospitality. The food was great.
Before and after our EBC trek we stayed at the Yak & Yeti. The staff are all warm and very helpful. The hotel rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is excellent. The bar service also excellent. If you want a really nice hotel in Kathmandu this is highly recommended.

All was perfect
Excellent hotel and service . Amazing staff. Receptionist Shisham and Jasma and server John are very polite and helpful. We had issues from Lukla and were early yet they went out of way to get us a room .
I stayed at the Hotel Yak & Yeti for a business trip. They helped me organise all the airport transfers and taxis in general throughout our stay. They had the most warm, welcoming and helpful staff. Barsha & Muskaan stood out for me, they had such a great energy and made my time in Nepal that next level of happiness. They were kind, considerate and professional. The food here is gorgeous, the catering team and staff are so responsive and Japad really made my stay a happy one. I would recommend this to anyone heading to Nepal. Great location too!
You can feel the luxury as soon as you arrive but this is not a pretentious hotel just very comfortable. Excellent staff. Lovely pool and two great bars.
Our stay at this property was most pleasent . The overall anenities and rooms are most tastelfully done . It is like a beautifully curated museum all over , art and craft displayed seamlessly in its functioning . A tour of the Lal Durbar conventiom center which is built around the Heritage lal Durbar palace , was most wonderfull. A walk through history , artifacts and royal lifestyle was made interesting by Guest relation ececutive Muskan . She warm and well informed as she took me on the tour . Thank you.
I have stayed at the Yak and Yeti twice now, and I have to say the moment you step into the Yak & Yeti Hotel, you feel it—an immediate sense of grounded elegance paired with genuine human warmth. As someone who has spent a career thinking about well-being, resilience, and the environments that foster both, I can say this place gets it right on every level. There’s a kind of quiet coherence here. The architecture honors history without feeling dated, the gardens offer a calming, almost restorative presence, and the staff consistently demonstrate a level of attentiveness that feels both professional and deeply authentic. That balance—between excellence and humanity—is rare. What stands out most—truly—is how extraordinary the staff are. Their presence isn’t just helpful; it’s uplifting. Every interaction reflects a kind of mindful engagement that goes beyond hospitality into something more meaningful. They listen, they notice, they respond—not mechanically, but with a sincerity and emotional intelligence that is deeply reassuring. In psychological terms, they create an environment of trust and ease almost instantly, which has a measurable impact on how welcomed and settled you feel. What impressed me further is how effortlessly the hotel supports both productivity and relaxation. Whether you’re preparing for a demanding day of work or simply seeking a space to recalibrate, the environment adapts to you. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, providing comfort without excess, and the overall atmosphere encourages clarity of mind. And again, it’s the people who elevate everything. The team seems to anticipate needs before they’re even articulated, and they do so with grace and consistency. That kind of intuitive service is not easily taught—it reflects a culture of care that is clearly embedded in the organization. I love the 4th floor Executive Level’s High Tea, Happy Hour and endless snacks – 24 hours a day. They even made a cake for our expedition team welcoming us back with traditional shawl scarves and unmatched, authentic hospitality. I want to publicly thank Shradha Upreti, Front Office Executive, and her Club Shangri-La Team members Amar and Suman - they are rockstars of service and kindness! My favorite room (530), a 2 room suite, looks out over the beautiful, private grounds in the back with white ducks, gardens, ponds and pool. Just as beautiful to look out on as it is to be in. And the breakfast is great, which at home I would skip, but not here! In a city as vibrant and dynamic as Kathmandu, the Yak & Yeti stands out as a place of both refuge and connection. It doesn’t just meet expectations—it elevates them, quietly and confidently. If you’re looking for a stay that supports both your external goals (like a bucket list climb to Everest Base Camp) and your internal well-being, this is a place I recommend without hesitation.
Rabi was excellent! The food is fresh and delicious. We ate here multiple times and we are staying at a nearby hotel. Highly recommend this restaurant. We enjoyed the fish and sliders, soup, and potatoes. Very nice experience.
Comfortable and big room, friendly and helpfull staff, variety of food, great location.
I stayed at Hotel Yak & Yeti for 2 nights and had a great experience. The hotel has a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but I feel the variety could be improved. Overall, I’m very satisfied and would definitely stay again.
The property was outside the busy area, but still in walking distance to shops. The staff were very attentive, breakfast was loaded by plenty of variety. The rooms were a good size for two large suitcases. The grounds were good for some exercise. We had a few stays within a few weeks, so leaving our luggage stored was not a problem. Massages were a great touch also.

We spent three nights at the Yak and Yeti during our recent trip to India and Nepal. I had looked around for hotels in Kathmandu and had my eye on the Yak and Yeti due its historical significance and am so glad I chose it for our stay. This is a wonderfully beautiful hotel with exceptional service, right in the center of Kathmandu. Our rooms, on the third floor, were large with a very comfortable bed, great bathroom and shower and connections to YouTube and other streaming services, along with local channels. I would have wanted to eat at Chimneys but the timing wasn't there so we ended up eating at the Spice Room for the fantastic breakfast and once for lunch. The food was delicious and the expansive breakfast offers many western choices, especially important for people like myself with stomach issues. There is one server at the Spice Room, whose name I wrote down but lost, was just wonderful and remembered everything we ordered from previous breakfasts. He was just wonderful. The hotel grounds are beautiful and it's worth seeing the interior of the older building as the hotel has much character and history. Location was also wonderful, about a block and a half from Durbar Marg and about a 10 minute walk to Thamel. The Yak and Yeti is Nepal, and I'd go back in a heartbeat!!!
I travel to Nepal for my trekking and climbing business. I always stay at the Yak and Yeti for myself and my clients. Close to Thamel, a popular tourist area with lots of shopping options. Beautiful lawn and garden on the property for walking and photos. But the wonderful breakfast buffet is my favorite! Omelette bar, fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, doughnuts, traditional Nepali dishes, yogurt and juice bar. Unlimited fresh espresso drinks! The breakfast manager, Salikram, always greets us with a smile and warm greeting and has been a staple here for several years. If you stay in Kathmandu, you can’t go wrong at the Yak and Yeti
