Nous avons adoré la vue magnifique sur la mer et la piscine du restaurant. La taille de la chambre et de la terrasse était impressionnant. Tout ce que nous avons mangé était succulent. Le personnel était gentil et le service impeccable.

L'accès à l'établissement un peu compliqué et loin de la plage. L’accès à la villa un peu ardu si on ne prend pas le shuttle, effectivement peu recommandé pour les personnes avec des problèmes physiques.

The design around the hill and incorporation of nature was just jaw dropping. Worth the travel to Amed. The staff were so kind and it felt quite traditional and Balinese. We travelled around in buggy's due to the steep hill which was fun. The room and the hand written greeting for our anniversary was such a kind touch. The wooden hut and out door living room felt like such a calming experience. The breakfast was out of this world and we had amazing choices. The food was amazing at the restaurant. The pool was amazing with the view of the beautiful foliage and the sea in the distance. You can spot a lot of Balinese wildlife and they give you a pictured guide sign to let you know what you can spot. We were able to book all our excursions through the hotel. We went to see mount Agung and snorkel with sea turtles- we saw one but that was still special. The spa was one of the best massage experiences of my life! Highly recommend making your way from the south to visit the amazing hillside hotel that gives you access to the sea as well.

The bathroom was a little more exposed to the elements than expected. You get used to it Other than that, no complaints other than I wish we stayed longer.

We had such a wonderful stay and truly cannot say enough good things about this place and, especially, the amazing people working there. From the moment we arrived, we were met with kindness, warmth, and genuine hospitality. Every single member of staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and caring, and they always made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The service throughout our entire stay was excellent, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The food was also very good, and we really enjoyed being able to relax and enjoy our meals in such beautiful surroundings. The location itself is absolutely stunning — peaceful, beautiful, and perfect for a romantic getaway. We came here as part of our honeymoon, and it honestly felt like the perfect place for it. The atmosphere was calm and romantic, and there were great conditions for enjoying the sun and simply relaxing together. Unfortunately, during the last few days of our stay, we both became quite sick. This was when the staff truly showed just how exceptional they are. They took such incredible care of us and showed genuine concern for our wellbeing. They drove us to the emergency clinic when we needed medical help, arranged for a doctor to come and see us the following day, and checked in on us several times every day to make sure we were okay and had everything we needed. Their kindness during those difficult days meant more to us than we can properly put into words. Being sick while travelling far away from home can feel scary and overwhelming, but they made us feel safe, cared for, and supported the entire time. We are extremely grateful for everything they did for us, both before and during the time we were unwell. Their hospitality went far beyond what we could ever have expected. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing stay with excellent service and genuinely wonderful people.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and can highly recommend it! Everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained, and we immediately felt comfortable and welcome. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. Everyone was kind, helpful, and very competent, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, and we really enjoyed every meal. We also loved the cozy atmosphere by the pool – it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Thank you to the whole team for such a lovely stay! We would happily come back again.

I paid booked for live BBQ paid IDR 1.5m almost for it, there was no live BBQ it was made in the kitchen! Me and my wife would have just ordered regular meals room service if it was not live BBQ, we were only informed after serving the starter soup stating due to the weather they have cancel the love BBQ and offered us 20% discount, and I had just booked it about 45 before I arrived to the restaurant, they could have informed me that there was no live bbq!

Nothing - it is on a steep slope and a distance from the beach - but you need that to have the tranquility and the view. There is a shuttle on the hour which wool take you down to the beach and snorkelling spots if that is what you wish to do. I did on both days of my stay.

L’hôtel est magnifique et digne de ses 5 étoiles. La piscine est superbe avec une vue exceptionnelle. Nous avions le Lodge familial avec piscine privée : magnifique. Nous avons mangé au restaurant de l hôtel les deux soirs et c était très bon. La navette est très pratique. Le personnel est toujours très gentil et disponible

Seule déception : la vue de notre lodge n’était pas celle des photos. En effet, des constructions sont en cours et l’hôtel a souhaité cacher ces travaux du Lodge mais cela cache aussi la vue. Peut être tailler les plantes sur la vue restante afin de récupérer une vue dégagée.

Il faut prendre une navette pour avoir accès au logement : moins de liberté sur les horaires et il faut être en pleine forme physique pour accéder au logement.

Sublime emplacement, loin de la ville d’Amed qui n’a guère d’intérêt. Les lodges sont magnifiques, tout est luxueux et décoré avec goût.

This exceeded our expectations. It was stunning. Staff were incredibly nice. The food -Wow, great. Everything was super clean and tidy. The rooms were such a delight.

The tracks to the room were a bit difficult to negotiate for an older person. Other than that, nothing.

Не могу отнести этот отель к премиум и люкс по нескольким причинам: 1. Очень посредственная еда в отеле, её качество не соответствует статусу отеля. Кухню нужно улучшать. 2. Полотенца и на вилле, и у бассейна были в пятнах и затяжках. Это эконом, а не люкс. 3. Это самое неприятное: на завтрак тебе предлагают выбрать 1 блюдо и хлеб с маслом/джемом ИЛИ фрукты. Вы серьезно? У меня вилла за 300$ за ночь, а я не могу получить на завтрак и хлеб и фрукты??? Мой сын не наелся омлетом (небольшая порция) и хотел заказать еще одно блюдо на завтрак —попросили за это заплатить дополнительно. Это испортило наше впечатление. Надеюсь, что руководство отеля прочитает мой отзыв и переоценит такие решения про завтрак…

The view, the pool, the restaurant environment, the design and decor of the room were all exceptional.

Access was somehow difficult and very steep. However it is good that a private shuttle is in place. The next door work for another hotel/resort being built breaks the uniqueness of the place…

Absolut zu empfehlen. Service, Freundlichkeit, Essen und die Lodges... Es war rundum fantastisch. Der Pool war ein Traum und auch die Massage ein Muss. Wir wollten noch verlängern, aber leider war das Hotel ausgebucht.

This hotel has stunning views and cute nice villas. Beds are comfortable and food is good. Great place to stay if you value tranquility and looking for more quiet and peaceful place to stay.

The hotels is located on top of a mountain and the road to the hotel was under construction when we were staying there. They provide free shuttle though. There is not much to do in the hotel itself except to enjoy the views.

It has an amazing view from up in the valley but it’s a terrible road to get up to it so you are pretty much trapped while you are up there. Also, there is another property being built right in front of it. The room was beautifully presented with great view and the food in the restaurant was delicious.

The staff member I’m seemed to get while I was there was surly and unfriendly. It’s being marketed as a lux property so it should have a better wine list, by the glass and bottle. Also, the music that was playing didn’t really fit with the atmosphere of the place. The pool area needs to be attended better, cleaned of used plates/glassware and better service.

Faszinierend, wie es hier gelingt, den "Traum" von Bali zu verwirklichen, indem die Lodges naturnahe Architektur und Komfort vereinbaren. Das halboffene Bad ist spektakulär und die Private Pool Lodge ein wahrer Rückzugsort und damit starker Kontrast zur "Außenwelt". Auch der herzliche Service ist ganz wunderbar, das Essen und die Drinks sind köstlich. Wir sind sehr froh, genau diesen Ort gefunden zu haben. Auch wenn er durch Bauarbeiten derzeit etwas getrübt ist. Diese scheint es gerade überall auf Bali zu geben. Die außergewöhnliche Atmosphäre und die Herzlichkeit des Teams überwiegen die "kleinen" Unannehmlichkeiten.

Surreal to go to the hotel and have it be exactly like the pictures. We had an amazing three nights. The location was beautiful, decor was well designed, staff was very friendly, the food was great and the facilities were very up to standards. The prices of things at the hotel were also quite reasonable

Gyönyörű környezet, fantasztikus kilátás a Bali tengerre. Kifogástalan ételek, helyi ízek és európai ételek is vannak. A személyzet kifejezetten barátságos, érdeklődő, mindenben segítőkész.

Fent a hegyen eléggé szeles és állandóan felhős-napos az idő. Estére le is hűl. Ez nem vont le az értékéből, csak jó hozzátenni, hogy érdemes hosszú ruhával is készülni.

Très joli hôtel, mieux encore que dans mes attentes ! Il faut s'accrocher pour grimper la montagne et accéder à l'hôtel (une quinzaine de minutes avec leur navette dédiée). Mais la vue vaut vraiment le détour. Tout est bien décoré et propice à la relaxation. Les lodges sont bien aménagés avec des terrasses et un salon extérieur. Tout est fait avec énormément de goût. Le restaurant est également très sympa, belle déco et bonnes assiettes. Possibilité de snacker au bord de la piscine. Personnel aux petits soins, un plaisir. Hâte de revenir.. Un peu plus longtemps cette fois ci !

Tolle Lodge mit künstlerischem Design. Sehr gute Küche und zuvorkommendes Personal. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Gegenwärtige Baustelle ist tagsüber doch sehr lärmend.

Tout absolument tout. C’était parfait, le personnel est accueillant au petit soin un service digne d’un grand hôtel. La chambre est sublime le cadre idéal.

Petit bémol pour le restaurant où les plats manque un peu de goûts certainement pour plaire au plus grand nombre. Toutefois il reste très correct.

Be prepared for the drive from the pickup point to the lodge, it is bumpy! I made use of a spa package and staff were lovely and professional. Ça établissement était tout simplement incroyable. Magnifique vue Hotel splendide. Nous avons passé deux jours au top. Et un accueil parfait, les repas étaient merveilleux.

Nous étions juste un peu éloignés du restaurant et de la piscine, c’était le seul point négatif pour nous.

Nestled high in the mountains and accessed via a scenic 20-minute shuttle ride, Mathis Lodge offers a beautiful eco-lodge experience with breathtaking views across the mountains and down to the ocean. My villa bungalow was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with daily housekeeping throughout my stay. I was fortunate enough to receive an upgrade to a villa with its own private jacuzzi, which made the experience even more special. The bed was large and comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Breakfast was included each morning and was consistently delicious, with a choice of meals accompanied by complimentary coffee and juice. The peaceful setting made it an ideal escape to unwind, slow down, and spend time with a good book. Although my particular villa was situated at the bottom of a substantial hillside, the staff were always happy to provide complimentary buggy transfers, ensuring access around the property was effortless and convenient. I also enjoyed a lovely spa treatment during my stay. Most of all, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They even assisted with transportation to my next hotel in nearby Amed, which was greatly appreciated. Thank you to the entire Mathis Lodge team for a wonderful and relaxing few days. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful mountain retreat with spectacular views.

This wasn't necessarily a negative, but guests should be aware that an additional 21% is added to most purchases, including meals, spa treatments, and minibar items, so it's worth factoring that into your budget. There is also some construction taking place on neighbouring properties. As a result, you may hear occasional construction noise during the day. However, work appeared to cease in the evenings, and I found the property quiet and peaceful at night.

Unser Aufenthalt in der MATHIS Lodge Amed war wunderschön. Die Lage ist absolut traumhaft mit einem unglaublichen Ausblick und einer sehr ruhigen, entspannten Atmosphäre. Unsere private Villa mit dem riesigen Pool war ein echtes Highlight unserer Hochzeitsreise. Besonders begeistert haben uns das leckere Essen, das Floating Breakfast und die entspannenden Massagen. Das gesamte Team war unglaublich freundlich und herzlich. Außerdem wurde uns eine tolle Schnorcheltour organisiert, die ein unvergessliches Erlebnis war. Man merkt wirklich, wie viel Mühe sich das Personal gibt, damit sich die Gäste wohlfühlen.

Direkt neben der Unterkunft befindet sich aktuell eine Baustelle, wodurch es zeitweise etwas lauter war. Allerdings hat das Team wirklich großartig reagiert und uns mit tollem Service und mehreren Aufmerksamkeiten einen wunderbaren Ausgleich geschaffen. Dafür sind wir sehr dankbar.

L’accès à l’établissement est en travaux et ça secoue.

Vue exceptionnelle. Décoration soignée. Chambre très confortable. Personnel adorable. Je lis des commentaires négatifs notamment sur les prix, l’accessibilité… etc. Tout est mentionné clairement sur le site donc il n’y a pas de surprise. Pour ce qui est des prix c’est standard à ce type d’établissements à Bali. Concernant l’accessibilité, l’hôtel est en retrait dans les hauteurs mais un système de navette ultra fluide est mis en place et la ballade est qui plus est très agréable. C’est justement tout l’atout de cet hôtel, au calme absolu dans un écrin de verdure. En bref, nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux !!!

Peut être le bruit des travaux à côté de l’hôtel, mais c’est un détail qui n’a pas gâché notre séjour.

L’hôtel est incroyable avec une vue sur l’océan, notre LODGE était magnifique avec une piscine très agréable. Le service était vraiment top, tout le monde est bienveillant. Je vous recommande sans hésiter cet hôtel.

La route actuellement en travaux rend l’accès un peu difficile, donc il faut prendre la navette aller-retour et récupérer son scooter au point de pick-up.

The hotel offers truly stunning scenery, with a beautiful pool area and an exceptional bar and restaurant that make the setting feel very special. Our villa was beautifully designed, with an extremely comfortable bed and a peaceful terrace that was perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was great. The staff were also consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

As the hotel is located high up the mountain, access requires taking a shuttle from a designated waiting area at the bottom. The road is extremely steep and narrow, and the journey can feel quite intimidating, especially for anyone uncomfortable with heights as the shuttle resembles a large golf buggy travelling close to the edge in places. Thankfully, we did not experience this journey during rainy weather. The shuttle schedule can also be quite restrictive. It runs every hour at 30 minutes past on the clock going down the mountain and once an hour on the hour coming back up, with the last shuttle departing at 10:00 PM. Missing the final shuttle creates significant difficulties, as driving up independently is not advisable and walking back up is almost impossible due to the steep terrain. On one evening, after a busy day, we chose to have dinner at a local warung about 10 minutes from the shuttle pick up point. Because the restaurant was busy and service took longer than expected, we had to rush through our meal to avoid missing the last shuttle, which created unnecessary stress and anxiety. Extending the final shuttle time to 11:00PM or midnight would greatly improve the guest experience. During our stay, a local vehicle broke down on the narrow road leading down from the hotel, which prevented the shuttle from passing. The hotel explained that there was little they could do other than wait, which is understandable as it was outside of their control. However, this caused us to arrive 30 minutes late for a pre booked excursion, despite carefully planning our timing around the shuttle schedule. Fortunately, the excursion provider was very understanding, but this is something future guests should be mindful of particularly if they have important travel arrangements such as flights or ferry connections. The mosquito nets were a little stained with what looked like splattered blood and further yellow stains. They could do with being washed or changed completely.

L'originalité des chambres, la beauté de la vue, style de l'architecture. Personnel très sympa, le manager à l'écoute, repas délicieux, cadre nature.

Rien de spécial, juste l'accès à l'hôtel qui est compliqué en véhicule et dans la salle de bain, une planche du sol était cassée devant le lavabo, pas très safe à pied nu.

Nous avions eu un problème de réservation, le personnel a tout fait pour corriger et nous avons passé un incroyable séjour.
