The room was clean and the bed was ok.

Communication with the host was hard, she did not provide any information in advance. The host entered our room to open the balcony door for some reason, while we were away. All the noise from the other rooms of the house was very audible, even with ear plugs. There wasn't any accessible power slot in the bedroom. The location is hard to access without a car.

We needed a place near the airport for an early morning departure this was perfect for our needs. Kelly met us at the door, gave us a tour and explained the shared spaces. She was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen includes tea and coffee and the upstairs is shared with a lock and code on each of 3 rooms. We reserved two of them. It was perfect for myself, my husband and my mom.

The Orchard House is very convenient, especially if you need to get to the airport the next day. We really liked that the bedroom is located on the upper floor, and the area is very quiet and peaceful.

Comfortable room not too far from the airport

Owner said not to take our bags upstairs to our room (our bags are medium size) so took up what we needed and left them downstairs was a bit worried about someone taking them.

Jede Menge Zettel, was man nicht darf. Kameraüberwachung in Gemeinschaftsräumen. Ausstattung alt und beschädigt, Bett viel zu weich.

The host was super nice, showed us everything around. Facilities were super clean and had everything we need for our stay.

They say tea and coffee are available but no milk. Did they expect guests to buy before arrival. The towels were not clean. No proper cooking facility. No soaps in the bathroom. Nobody to help carry the suitcases up the stairs and I a 74 year old person had to carry. This is not a place for booking.com. horrible staff we had to clean the dishes. No ironing or washing facility

This place is not value for money for the price we pay. Nothing good about the place except location. Very rude staff too.

Sie war nah am Flughafen Vancouver und es war auch sonst eine angenehme Unterkunft.

Wir hatten Wohnung Nr. 1. Die Vermieterin bestand auf Sauberkeit ( Ausziehen der Schuhe im Hausflur ). Andererseits die vielen Zettel zum zur Verhaltenserklärung, wie auch die Überwachungskameras in Gemeinschaftsküche und -Wohnaufenthaltsraum. Nur: wenn so auf Sauberkeit geachtet und hingewiesen wird, sollte auch der Abzug im Bad / Duschen, wie auch die Luftaustritte der Heizung vom Vermieter sauber gehalten werden.

リッチモンドの閑静で美しい住宅地にある。駐車場がある。比較的近くに大きなスーパーマーケットがある。清潔なキッチンがある。ホテルではないが、コーヒーや紅茶のサービスがあった（朝起きたらまずコーヒー派なのでとてもうれしかった！）。早朝出発に対応してくれる。最寄りのバス停は深夜まで利用できる。最寄駅にショッピングモールがある。空港までの送迎を相談できる。車での空港までのアクセスが抜群。大家さんは余計なことを言わないが、さりげなくフォローしてくれる。

悪いところはなかった。ナイトライフ目的や賑やかな環境が好きな人には向かないと思う。小さな子供がいる家族連れなら全室貸切利用できるか相談してみるといいと思います。

Friendly welcome. Immaculately clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Perfect for an overnight stay. Options to self cater albeit in a communal kitchen.

The location is slightly out of the way for trips to Vancouver. But for an overnight stop whilst changing aircraft, totally sufficient. Fisherman‘s wharf is only a $20 taxi drive away.

We came here for FIFA World Cup game. Property is located within walking distance to bus stop, convenient stores and restaurants. It was nice and quiet, room was very clean, bed and pillows were very comfortable. Kelly greeted us when we arrived and showed us around at the check in. Kelly is amazing and is also very responsive through chat. Thank you Kelly for your hospitality and what will be one of the greatest trips we had to Vancouver. We had awesome time and felt very welcome and comfortable.

I booked the room with an on suite bathroom, this was so nice and clean. I was staying for11nights . Lane takes great care of her lovely home and works very hard to make everyone welcome. The kitchen has no hob but is very well equipped, Lane provides cover maker, tea and everything in the cupboard s to keep it clean that you need. Richmond is a bit out of the way but the bus and train are so frequent , if you buy a compass pass from the drug mart it works out quit cheep.

I didn’t relies to open the back gate to the garden I needed to ask Lane , she lives down stairs and you just ask for anything. She is so lovely and is happy to help.

The room met our needs. It would have been nice to spend more time relaxing and enjoying the peace and beauty of the place. It was a wonderful stay and we will recommend it wth others.

The property is located in a quite suburban area. The accommodation was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Communication with the host was difficult. Lots of house rules that were not in the booking information. I believe that the description was misleading. The room we had booked was occupied by another guest. We were advised that we were given an upgrade at no extra cost. The upgrade was a downstairs room with an ensuite and a small kitchen. In our opinion this was not an upgrade. Being downstairs we heard constant movement from upstairs and conversations. Every time someone used the upstairs bathroom we could hear everything that occurred in the bathroom. Also the hot water system was beside our room and we heard it operating frequently. The kitchen area did not have any bench space available for food preparation. Our upstairs room was supposed to have a balcony, soundproof walls, shared bathroom and kitchen. We were never offered access to these upstairs areas. I was also surprised at the cost of doing laundry. The description suggests that there was a washing machine in our room. There was also a cost for laundry services. I thought that I could do my own washing in the machine indicated in the description. I thought that I would only pay a laundry fee if the host did my washing. The cost to use the washer and dryer was CAD$10. We found a local coin operated laundry where we did a full load wash and dry for CAD$5. There was a great pub (Legends) across the road from the coin laundry where we had dinner while doing our washing. We were told if we wanted to wait for the person occupying the room we booked to return and move out the host would then clean the room and we could move in. We didn't want to wait. Check in time is 3pm, we arrived close to 5pm and had been travelling all day.

Several things described as “in-room” were actually in shared, common area. Very sparse bedroom with private bathroom. Kitchenette is actually microwave, small frig, and sink. No dishwasher, even though listed in amenities. Host requires shoes to be removed, but floors were not clean, dirty socks and/or feet. Little privacy. Would not recommend.

Kelly is a wonderful and very friendly host. She really cares about every. The entire house is INCREDIBLY CLEAN! We would definitely come back.

Something to be aware of is that you might hear your neighbors every now and then. The walls are not very soundproof.

Room was nice, but the lady had some wild rules it felt like I was staying in my extremely conservative religious family’s house as a teenager again or something, eg: shoes go here, asking us to pick the hair out of the drain after showering, even telling us we had to flush our “discharge” before flushing the toilet paper, and then our girl friend came by to come visit us and the lady was getting all weird that there were two girls over, so you pretty much only get a super strict bedroom to sleep in only…

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par notre hôte alors que nous arrivions tard le soir. L'emplacement du logement est top, pas très loin de l'aéroport et dans un lotissement très calme. C'était très appréciable après de longs trajets. Le logement est vraiment très propre. Nous n'avions jamais eu de location aussi bien entretenue jusqu'ici. Il était également très bien organisé pour que chaque locataire ait sa place et du confort.

I loved the cozy feel of the space and ease of use of the house amenities. Considerate and helpful host made the experience comfortable and the bed linens were divine- made it easier to fall asleep. I will happily visit again!

Begrijpelijk dat je wilt dat het schoon blijft, maar dit is wat overdreven — als je niet wilt dat er sporen van verblijf achterblijven, dan is het hebben van een guesthouse misschien niet de juiste keuze. • Daarnaast is er een camera in de keuken aanwezig, en dat voelt als een schending van de privacy. Privacy is een wettelijk recht, en dit is niet hetzelfde als “teveel nadenken”, zoals in andere reacties wordt gesuggereerd. Privacywetgeving in British Columbia Onder de Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), die geldt in BC, moeten privégegevens en video-opnames voldoen aan strikte voorwaarden. Organisaties of personen die video-surveillance gebruiken, moeten aan de volgende principes voldoen: 1. Er moet duidelijke, zichtbare melding zijn dat er camera’s aanwezig zijn zodat mensen kunnen kiezen of ze wel of niet binnenkomen — dit heet ‘implied consent’. 2. Camera’s mogen plaatsen met een hoge privacyverwachting niet filmen — zoals badkamers, slaapkamers of keukens — en ze moeten juist gericht zijn op toegankelijke zones zoals ingangen of openbare ruimtes.   3. Camera’s moeten een legitiem doel hebben (veiligheid etc.), mogen niet heimelijk zijn geplaatst, en gasten moeten geïnformeerd worden over het doel en gebruik ervan.  In dit geval lijkt er een duidelijke inbreuk op de privacy te zijn: een camera in de keuken—een privéruimte waar je een redelijke verwachting van privacy hebt—zonder voldoende melding of toestemming.

Great accommodation with excellent host. Near the airport for ideal travel times. The kitchenette was stocked with little snacks and teas a weary traveller could use. Would definitely stay here again

It was very clean and quiet

There was no iron, which was very disappointing, as clothes look terrible after being packed in a suitcase or backpack. Also, if you return to the guesthouse late in the evening or at night, be prepared for the entrance doors to be locked. We had to write to customer support because we couldn't get inside for 20 minutes. Overall, a wonderful place and a wonderful hostess.

Hyperclean

Every sign posted reminded us that we were making the place less clean. It was a bit uncomfortable. Also, there wasn't air con in the room (although it was advertised as having some) so sleeping in a warm room was difficult

Nothing. We did not stay there. I would like my money refunded!!

Not clean, felt the locks were not secure, felt someone else had a key, didn’t like that we had to go through the owners part of the house to get to the room.

Location

There was no staff. We were yelled at for doing dishes and using the kitchen. There is zero communication that the actual address is 8200 Gilbert Rd, only 2 pillows, 2 blankets. Towels were crusty, there were people the lived there

Excellent property, hostess was kind, thoughtful, and clearly took great care of the home. I would absolutely stay here again and hope to do so when I visit the Vancouver area again.

Kelly is very friendly and accommodating

The host, Kelly, lives on site. We had the ground floor bedroom, with private bath and kitchen. Slippers are provided, but we brought our own. The mattress was very comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water. The toilet is lower than we are used to. There is free Wi-Fi. The other 2 guest rooms are upstairs. The 2nd floor common area for all guests is huge. Total cost of washing and drying one load is $8. A $35 taxi ride brought us to Orchid House. Then we used the very good and frequent 406 bus to the Skytrain. Given enough time a Day Pass could be ordered by mail. We bought ours at a drug store. With the Day Pass seniors pay $9.05 per day for unlimited transit use. Buses and trains can be crowded. Online pass top ups are easy. The machines at the train station are confusing. If you load your card at a machine remember to tap once more after you have successfully paid. Take the 406 bus to Steveston.

The house is clean and tidy, and the rate is okay.

To many rules around the house, the ensuite has a timer for the light, no hair dryer, no creamer or milk for coffee. The location is around 8-10 min walk to the bus stop.
