Sehr großes, komfortables, aber individuelles Zimmer, sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, sehr gutes Frühstück.
Beautiful little hotel with really quite dedicated staff. For price and location this is a 10/10.
Beautiful breakfast, good size and great flavour.

The hotel was in a great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful .The outdoor area was nice for a pre dinner drink .
The room we had was quite noisy with the main rd outside .The bathroom was very dated .

Kamer lawaaiig, boven bar
Très bel établissement dans une belle bâtisse historique, dans un très beau village, à la porte du merveilleux Burghley House, château Élizabéthain. Très bon pub. Excellent restaurant.
Trop peu de stationnement. Zone de stationnement minute à mieux signaler. Public bruyant au dîner et au petit-déjeuner.
Liked the age and history of the property
Drinks and breakfast were expensive. Would have liked more fresh fruit offered at breakfast
lovely spacious room, delicious meal.
nothing
Our room was Lyon, a good size, bed was magnificent and comfortable and rolled top bath a joy - the toiletries provided were excellent quality. A lovely big fan was provided and curtains closed with open windows to help keep our room cool in the high heat wave. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, we enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. Drinks were excellent. The garden area was a bonus as it was lovely to sit outside in the shade on a hot evening. The outside bar is a great idea.
Our room was facing the road so with windows open in the heat of the Summer we heard the road noise so I would ask for a room in a quieter position if staying again. However, we were there for only one night and had enough sleep. Having the car park down the road was something we knew about when booking and we parked easily but brought the car nearer to pack up as it was a hot day to carry bags for several minutes walk.
Really welcoming
Road noise (unavoidable of course)
The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and full of character, with an incredibly comfortable bed and pillows. The large bath in the room was a lovely feature, and the cookies left for us were a nice touch. Staff were really friendly, the evening food was great and the whole place had a relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic location, an easy walk into the centre of Stamford.
Unfortunately, we stayed during extremely hot weather and although a fan was provided, we needed the window open which made the road noise very noticeable. We were also woken early by deliveries and workmen directly outside our window, so despite the wonderfully comfortable bed we didn’t get the best night’s sleep! I would have preferred a shower as well as the bath. Parking is a little awkward, although we did find somewhere nearby.
Perfect room, lovely staff, ideal location for walking into town or walking to Burghley
Excellent location, fantastic food (evening meal outside and breakfast inside), staff very friendly and helpful. Room was cozy
The history of the place was quite surprising
Location, quality of the room
Lack of decent fan. A single floor fan meant it was not effective in providing any relief
A cute find, with all of the facilities we needed.
Old building without air-con, and the room was very warm following a summer’s day, but the fan worked hard and we were comfortable throughout.
Lovely big room
Weather very hot - no air con as very old building. Fan not that effective and if we opened the only window it was noisy
Nice spacious room, great location
Staff were not attentive and had to go to the William Cecil for a drink in the evening due to staff not serving us
El encanto de la habitación, la comodidad, la ubicación y el desayuno.
A gem of a place, excellent food in the restaurant, great location, lovely garden
Unser Zimmer war sehr hübsch...typisch englisch...gute Lage ...gutes Essen
Great pub with rooms!
Was VERY hot in the rooms even with a fan!
Great location
It was very hot so I would have like aircon but they provided a fan.
We arrived hungry just before the kitchen closed so the staff suggested we order and then check into our room. This worked out perfectly. And the food was great. The room itself was charming. The building is listed so air con is not possible, but the room had a big fan that kept things cool. The bed was comfy.
The staff was good.
Too hot. No aircon.
Our welcome and our room was excellent.
Absolutely nothing
Excellent location - an easy walk in to the town centre Well appointed and very comfortable room Fabulous food and lovely outdoor seating areas
Great location. Place had real character and charm
Very hot when we stayed there, aircon would have been better than a fan.
I liked that when I had a query I was able to talk to a person over the phone, hence issue cleared up quickly & easily. Also when we arrived for lunch we were given the chance to choose where we would like to eat, ie inside or out in the heat Plus they informed, in advance, by phone, that the football was going to be shown in the garden late evening (certainly not a problem for us, but still nice to be advised)
It would have been nice to have had 2 large towels for our morning showers. (I’m sure if we had asked, one would have been provided, but we didn’t realise till we needed it. We would not have complained about such a thing, just guess it was an oversight)
Ancient and stylish coaching inn located on one of the UK's most beautiful streets. The room was freshly restored, spacious and elegant, with high quality mattress, sheets, pillows and towels. Excellent breakfast in the morning. The staff were professional and helpful.
We arrived during the heatwave and the room was like an oven. The team had placed a fan to help circulate the air, but it didn't help much. All except one small window was sealed shut. Since the building is historically important, it's likely not possible to put in Aircon. The room price was on the high side and breakfast was extra.
It’s relaxed style and all the little touches like home made biscuits and fresh milk in the room
We stayed during the heat wave and suffered with having the windows open making it very noisy
Just the evening menu.
The evening menu could have been a bit more adventurous.
Gemütlich, super bequemes Bett, viel Charme und ein süsser Garten.
Der Lärm am Morgen früh von Bauarbeiten aber das ist nicht immer so :)
Great location and on site beer garden was very good. The hotel’s old world decor.
Checking in and out with luggage is an issue as the parking is a couple of hundred metres away. We parked outside and dashed in to drop bags off before driving off to free off site parking location .
Beautiful historic property
Nothing
Staff great location great and hotel was olde worlde
It was very hot in the room with a fan that just blew hot air around which made it very uncomfortable It was just unfortunate it was one of the hottest days in the year perhaps air con units instead of fans ?
The staff are friendly and helpful. Great bathroom.
Had we not pre-booked we would’ve looked for an alternative hotel. The accommodation failed to live up to the price. We had a stiflingly hot room with just a small noisy fan. The bedroom window opened on to a very busy road with incessant traffic. The noise and fumes made for a really oppressive experience. Earplugs were essential as the traffic noise didn’t subside. We opened the bathroom window to try and ventilate the bedroom but it was by a kitchen extractor duct and the room filled with cooking smells. The room had no wardrobe storage. The lighting in the room was poor. The food was disappointing and did not live up to the menu descriptions. The terrace where we ate was festooned with plastic wisteria and benefitted from loud piped music.

Well located. Great beer garden. Very good breakfast.
No AC - large noisy fan instead.
Great location, lovely sized room , friendly happy staff through out whole stay, one of our best brekkies ever very tasty omelette again served with a lovely staff member, evening off arrival day they had a music night on which we were given entry too, was a very enjoyable night. The pub has made great use off their outdoor space many a landlord could get great ideas from this place
Room was at pavement level and the window did not seem to have a lock, room also got very warm, fans were provided but they tend to blow hot air about, with window open you had a lot of traffic and people noise and safety issues as they dont lock at any height. We loved the evening music but would be wise to warn pre booked guests as some may not be to happy with music and people noise till gone midnight. Price of drinks was nearly double what we paid in Stamford town for the same drinks which was disappointing.
The shower was a bit out of order, but quickly mended by a charming gentleman.
Great room stunning furniture, very comfortable

Great room and fab shower. Dinner was excellent and all the staff were super friendly and chatty. this is a real find for me and I will always stay here when in the area.
Historic, warm and inviting Incredibly beautiful room Very. Friendly and welcoming staff
Loved it all! We loved our experience. Delicious food as well!
Fixed shower
Room was very comfortable although there is some obvious road traffic noise as the main road is directly outside
The room was very comfortable and very friendly staff.
Staff were wonderful, Agnes was so kind The history, the ambience, the decor! Love! Location is perfect and parking is easy
Beautiful decor, comfy. Nice bar and food .
Problem being stairs this time and only a bath . We both have leg problems so stairs is not good so also for me a walk in shower is good and a bath is not .
The location was brilliant The staff team led by Rob & supported by Francisco were absolutely fantastic
The room was exceptionally hot
Leuk hotel aan de rand van het centrum. Uitstekende service. Bad in de kamer is niet handig.
Bad in de kamer is niet handig, je kunt eigenlijk niet douchen.
Stunning historical building
Character inn Great food Comfortable rooms Friendly staff Great location for Stamford
Not so good in a heat wave!
Lovely comfortable room. The outdoor bar and garden area were so nice to enjoy the warm weather. The staff were all very friendly. The food was amazing.
Nothing.
Our room had it's own private staircase which made it feel very private. The bed was huge ! Comfortable too. There was a roll top bath in the bedroom with separate shower head and some really nice bath products. There was a small fridge in the room with fresh milk, an espresso machine with pods, a choice of teas and some homemade cookies....what's not to like !! The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Great location, parking available just up the road Would definitely stay here again.
A bit of road noise
The rooms were excellent
Would have liked the staff to interact with us a bit more
Staff extremely efficient, very friendly and Great service from all. Agnes, Liam, Izzy and Elena. 5* Food excellent particularly Breakfast which was delicious with great cooked choices and a fabulous buffet bar too with fresh fruit and compote. Our room Wild Horse again excellent
No bin in. Bathroom.
Great comfortable and warm rooms. Lovely helpful staff

Location. Great food and friendly staff. Restaurant full on a Wednesday evening. Fresh milk in fridge.
Delicious Breakfast Friendly helpful staff Tasteful stylish room and furnishings Well done
We arrived after the kitchen was closed, but a delicious meal was rustled up for us with the help of Liam on the front desk. Our room (Wild Horse) was stunning and very comfortable. We had a delicious breakfast in the morning. The wild mushrooms on toast were delicious.

Excellent, friendly staff, lovely room and amazing breakfast.

Great Location and perfectly run. Lovely pub, facilities and rooms. Highly recommended
Location. In much better nick than the Cecil
Pricey My room had the bath in the bedroom with no separate shower At just shy of 200 quid a night I’d have liked access to a decent shower
Comfy bed. Large and pleasant room.
It was very noisy as I could hear people in the bar until 11pm. Also woken up at 7am by the piped music at breakfast.
Our room was very well appointed, and the facilities excellent. Tea/coffee tray was much appreciated as were the cookies! Bed very comfortable and welcoming radio on arrival immediately made us feel at ease.
nothing
Well located
Shower blasted hot and cold so was horrible having a shower. It was quite noisy, noise from the street, other guests and a dog consistently barking
A delightful old pub with beautifully appointed rooms and staff who were amiable and very attentive. We were touched that they had made us some gluten free brownies for our room. The bar and dining area were very attractively presented too.
Everything was perfect
Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated room, very comfy bed, I slept like a log. Room was street side but you couldn’t hear much for a midweek stay. Didn’t manage to eat there but the complimentary cookie was highly appreciated, also fresh milk in the mini fridge for morning coffee is a big win. Great location and very friendly staff. Lots of doggos as well which was a joy.
There was a lovely dressing table where I planned to do my makeup for the wedding I was attending but the lighting wasn’t great. Not a big thing at all, I used the bathroom which was fine but it was a bit of a shame that the lamp next to it was down facing so not really practical for makeup application.
Lovely large room. Very clean and bed was very comfortable. Water , tea and coffee available and very nice cookies Huge bathroom very good Nice shower with complementary shampoo etc
Some quite steep stairs to the room, We felt we paid quite a lot for one night
Great room in a really nice pub , excellent location for Burghley hall and the town centre
All good
Stayed before. Lovely place with lots of character. Room exceptional and staff always friendly and helpful.
Nothing
Good location, easy parking, very well maintained. Beer garden was excellent.
Expensive.
History by the bucket load. Excellently decorated and comfortable. Food is great give it a try. Staff exceptionally friendly
Beautiful, central, quiet, friendly staff.
Lovely, comfortable room with clean facilities. Great location, central to town. Parking locally included in price.
Noise from nearby road was significant, older single glazed windows I guess. Food in pub was very dissapointing for the price.
Lovely spacious room (Newton) that is full of character. Big comfortable bed. Great shower. Excellent breakfast. Pub serves decent beer. Short walk into the center of Stamford and near to entrance to Burghley House if that is your focus. Note that parking is a short way up the road in their sister building, the William Cecil.
Access is via the pub garden area at the rear, and the entryway as you approach the apartments door to the side doesn't look great, but its not an issue as once inside its a lovely spacious room and full of character. Note that the room is slightly below road level and the window faces out to the front pavement and main road at low height, so there is not a great view but you don't really need one, and the sound-proofing is good, so it's not a problem.
Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
We could not manage to use the shower over bath..too deep/slippery. We hoped to park nearer the hotel. 150yards to the car park is ok if it doesn't rain.
Beautiful room in a stunning pub, large room and great bathroom. Great comfortable bed and bedding.
Breakfast option pricey, excessive dog charge, no body lotion, shower difficult to turn off.
Relaxed and comfortable. Interesting food. Friendly. Dogs very happy.
Fabulous location with free parking nearby. Great room and breakfast.
Location. Very friendly and helpful staff
The room was too dark
Great hotel, staff very welcoming and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which was excellent too. We will definitely stay again, when next in Stamford and highly recommend.
Our only issue was with the road noise throughout the night, which became noticeable when we had our window open and had to be closed around 4 am.
Loved the atmosphere and position of the property. Bed really comfy, breakfast delicious. Although the rooms are mainly street facing we were amazed that we did not hear any traffic noise from the road outside.
Only slight negative - wish a shower cap had been provided as the shower was a large fixed head and you couldn’t avoid getting your hair wet!
