Awesome property on Pismo Beach! Great location just steps from the action and charm of the village or the warm sand and cool waters of the Pacific ocean. The atmosphere is laid back with 5 star service and ambiance. From the valet parking and front desk to the bellmen and housekeeping, the staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. At the activies' desk you can get everything you need for a day at the beach or the pool. Beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, sand toys, and towels are all available with just a quick call the the front desk. Be sure to check for daily special activities for both kids and adults and book a firepit for dinner and great s'mores. Their signature restaurant, Pequín Coastal Cocina, offers a varied and tasty menu and while a little pricey the food and service were worth it.

My family and I recently stayed at Vespera in Pismo Beach, and overall we had a wonderful experience. The property was very clean, well-maintained, and had a relaxing atmosphere. Although the outdoor bar area was under construction during our stay, it didn’t take away from our trip since all of the other amenities were available and we still had a great time. The only downside was the service at breakfast. We were seated quickly, and the restaurant wasn’t busy, but it took about 10 minutes before anyone came to our table to even offer us drinks. Once we were helped, the staff was friendly and courteous. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back. The beautiful property, clean accommodations, and welcoming environment made for a great family getaway.

Wonderful experience, even with the outdoor bar under construction on Fourth of July weekend. Perfect view of the Pismo pier firework show!! Every event and aspect of the hotel ran effortlessly. We were especially thankful for the extremely helpful valet service with our Tesla and charging, and one of the gentlemen gave a wonderful recommendation for dining on the first night there. Clean, friendly, family friendly, and fun! Would absolutely go back!

The hotel room was fabulous and the perfect environment right off the ocean. Loved hearing the waves while we slept. The pool was too small, not sufficient seating or towels, the free bike rental was deceiving, not easy at all to use- not a surprise they were never used, hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you. Loved the firework show in the 4th!

Had the balcony room and it was spacious with an amazing view. Slept with the door open listening to the sounds of the ocean. You have people walking across the boardwalk during the day and sometimes overnight. Also a very dog friendly hotel and the surrounding area.

Had a great time with our family. There were so many activities for everybody to enjoy. The pool and hot tub were really nice as well as the restaurant and bar. The valet was also fantastic and helped us with anything that we needed.The staff was very accommodating and kind and always willing to help. We also loved the cookies and cream gelato they had in the market. We would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at this property several tines -- two people at the front desk made our stay so wonderful -- David and Caitlin -- two amazing front desk people who were so great to chat with, had a great lunch suggestion and were incredibly efficient. Our room was fantastic, the location of this hotel is 5 star, the bartender Blake was terrific and all the Valet guys were so fast!! We love this property and will definitely return!

Surprising beautiful interior with the exception of the lobby. Furnishings in the lobby were old, dated and worn. The ocean front room was exceptional, we only wished, for our price point, we had somewhere to sit, perhaps a lounge chair or love seat.

Beautiful small hotel , wonderful boardwalk and ocean views. Pool bar is under construction but terrace was a great place for dinner and drinks with live music. Great location in Pismo. Valet was superb. The only small thing I want to mention is the balcony glass was very dirty and it felt like the patio area for the room was not clean as you would hope . Other than that great stay !

Our stay at this resort was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. The property was beautiful, clean, and well maintained, with stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. Cannot beat the location on the beach. You can walk to the pier, shops and restaurants. Have dinner in Pequin Coastal Cocina. The service and the food were great. After dinner take a drink and sit outside by the fires and watch the sunset. Our room was beautiful and the bathroom large as well.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful services and an appropriate footprint for an elevated beach stay. We were a group of 15 women on a guided tour, room keys ready when we arrived, bag delivery arranged, complimentary glass of champagne to welcome us. Rooms were very clean and comfortable - each came with a bottle of bourbon and a bottle of wine on the console, for purchase. Fitness room just down the hall. In the lobby area, a nice living room, and a small concession area next to check-in, where you could buy wine, snacks, etc. We became fans of the outdoor firepit seating that lead to the boardwalk, pier, and beach. The pool area was under partial construction, on the small side, but comfortable enough. We enjoyed happy hour and the breakfast selections. Would definitely recommend.

There was construction being done at the time of my visit. The sole purpose of the trip for to celebrate my daughter’s 40th birthday and to just relax. I was not aware of the construction until our arrival. There should have been a notice at booking that they were under construction. Hearing hammers and drills over the sound of the the ocean is not relaxing.

Highly recommend! The hotel is beautiful and clean with great amenities and a staff that was highly customer service focused. It was right on the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The onsite restaurant and bar were good and we ate there several times. There’s also quite a few fire pits and chairs with bar/food service. The rooms were modern and airy and smelled wonderful!We will definitely be back!

The check in was delayed. It was a busy weekend with CalPoly graduation but it was as if they planned for the check in to be late. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay. Nice facilities well maintained. Not worth 1500 a night tho.

Vespera resort is very convenient, on the boardwalk near the Pismo pier, the beach a few steps down and near many restaurants and shopping. The staff is wonderful. The 2- queen bed rooms are comfortable for a couple with two small children. The pool area is large enough with convenient bar and grill service. Staying out after dark on the patio, even when chilly, is great if one can snag one of the gas fireplaces. We've stayed many times now with our granddaughter who loves the proximity to the beach, the spa pool afterward and the ice cream shop a few blocks away!

Service was amazing, the front desk staff (Brian and Courtney) helped me get the right rooms for my family, provide a gift bag for the graduate, and helped me locate a couple of items I’d misplaced. Not to mention the dining room, they helped set up our grad night dinner with 9 people moving our reservation up last minute. Additionally the rooms were very spacious, lovely decor, comfortable beds, marble tiled bathrooms with elegant fixtures.

We did keyless, which would have been great... but you need a card key to power the room and Keyless only works on one device... so you still have to get a card key if others are staying with you. The outside bar is under construction... wasn't too bad, but they also didn't provide a slight compensation for the eyesore in the middle of their grounds. The pool is tiny.... Enough said. Driveway is completely catastrophic and tight. - especially if people don't know how to keep the cars moving along. Valet parking is $50/day - some surrounding hotels don’t even charge Staff gave false guidance on when to ask for late check out - so when I asked the response was “ Hello, unfortunately we do not have anymore late check-outs available.” - Anymore? How is this allocated? As a Bonvoy Gold member I expected better. We’ve stayed here several times and this trip showed it has lost its appeal/charm

The overall stay was just mediocre, which would be ok for a hotel that was cheaper. Main reasons were Pool bar was under construction Tidiness of the room was sub par (tufts of hair on the ground, lotion bottle under the bed, plastic trash on the desk ....) General untidiness of the pool area (towels weren't collected, etc.) Front desk was generally not very attentive (didn't ask about experience when we left....) Valet was very quick. For the price point it was not good enough.

Probably would not stay here again. Pros; nice room and location, decent service. Cons: Have stayed here twice, and both times there were noisy events in the large outdoor area immediately off the lobby. This area was off limits to hotel guests, who were relegated to tiny sitting area near the pool and right next to the noisy event. Pool is quite small - website photo is deceptive, and it's a construction zone. Added negative was $50 daily valet parking fee with no self-parking lot and no alternatives other than unavailable street parking. $45 daily resort fee for stuff I don't want - whisky tasting? No thanks. Room cleaning service - it's not automatic, you have to ask for it, but they don't tell you this at check-in.

Overall good experience with a few minor issues - don’t plan to cook unless you don’t need any serving bowls, dish towels or pans for broiling veggies!! Great location, quiet, clean, nice pool and full fitness facilities. Will stay here again with some advance assurance that the kitchen is better equipped.

Great hospitality and location. This is our second time stay here and we would definitely come back. The only things that my husband hesitate are the 50$ parking every night and $45 Resort fee. But then again the resort fee covers daily bike rental, beach accessories which we didnot use. Theres also tax on top of both of these. Hotel and the staff especially upper management are awesome. Mr Mendoza was so hospitable that we will go back in spite of these charges.

Another incredible stay at Vespera. We had an ocean front boardwalk suite with an incredible view of the ocean, boardwalk, pool and Pismo Pier! We got lucky with an incredible room rate and an upgrade! They are renovating the Pool area bar but there was no noise or disruption aside from some paneling to hide the construction. It did not take away from the wonderful experience at all! We can’t wait to see what the new outdoor bar area becomes!

We’ve stayed at this hotel three times now, and each visit has been wonderful. It’s right by the beach, and they have sand toys and beach chairs, so we don’t have to worry about bringing our own. The evening atmosphere on the lawn is so relaxing. We truly adore Vespera Resort.

My reservation was cancelled the week prior to my vacation, despite having booked in January. I was first informed that there was construction, then that they were oversold. I checked on other sites to see if there was availability after I was told the room I booked almost two months prior was no longer available and I found rooms on more than one external site, including American Express. The "help" I was offered by two separate people while trying to address this issue was to rebook at a nearby Courtyard Marriott, which I was encouraged to do as it would "save me money" - not an objective I had for my vacation. I was then told they could move me to a non-Marriott property next door at a lower rate. Again, not the idea I had for my vacation. The final solution was to move us to the next door location for no charge. We had a friend joining in town the first night, so we finally chose to accept that solution. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. The room was very basic, aging, and I would not even shower in the bathroom. The restaurant on property was supposed to be open until 9pm and we were rushed out by staff prior to 8pm. We decided to move to the Bacara on 3/25 for our last night and had a hope that we could receive late check out since we lost time during our vacation (and the week prior) due to the Vespera cancellation and the fact that Bacara did not even have our room ready for 4pm check in. That did not happen. I stay at Marriott properties all the time and expect a higher level of service.

The facility was awesome. Gorgeous. The reason it didn’t get a perfect score is there was a beautiful bathtub that once filled (an hour later) the temperature was warm. I brought it up to maintenance and they refused to increase the temperature. They said it would be scalding. The view was magnificent. The room gorgeous and spacious and beautiful. Great view of the ocean. The food delicious. I went for a training event. The conference rooms were also perfect and comfortable. For the quality of room, comfort and view, the price was reasonable

The staff was very friendly from valet to front desk to bartenders. One cleaning room was excellent but other room was ignored until multiple calls made. I was given a small compensation which was nice of them.

One of our rooms had very late cleanup and the view from our rooms were not as good as we have had on two other occasions. I was disappointed a bit disappointed that they werent center versus behind the pool but no ones fault.

Love staying at the Vespera. The location is great (right next to the pier) and the staff are all very polite. We were there this time for my wife’s birthday and they took extra steps to make us feel welcome and that the day was special. We will definitely be back.

Love almost everything about this place. I don’t like that they took the fire pits from the front and turned it into a dining area. The drinks from the outside bar are pricey for them being just eh. Didn’t like that o had to go to the front desk to get pool towels then one night we got tiny towels. Also an amazingly dog friendly place but they don’t have any dog bowls out for the dogs. The front desk staff is amazing and the valet guys are great! The rooms are cozy and comfortable

The Vespera Resort at Pismo Beach absolutely lived up to our expectations. The property sits right on the beach and our view from our balcony was directly at the ocean which is exactly what we wanted! It couldn't have been better - weather was perfect, the restaurant's food was fabulous especially the short ribs enchiladas and Caitlin at the front desk was extremely accommodating, very professional and customer oriented! The location of this property is OUTSTANDING. The restaurant service was good, not great, a little slow/unattended at times, however the food was very, very good for a hotel restaurant. The layout of the hotel and rooms offers great views of the ocean from nearly all rooms. The hotel common areas and rooms were clean. The only option is really valet parking; however the text for your car system worked very well and the team was responsive. Most times we left, we had our car waiting or within a minute or two. Only time they were a little delayed and backed-up was at 11:00am checkout time on Sunday. Biggest gripe was housekeeping. Perhaps I missed the memo, but checked the button on my Marriott APP for YES, housekeeping; but they were a no-show the entire 4-day stay. We kept thinking they'd be coming in the next day and they just continued to fail to show. We did have the DNDisturb on the door during the early morning and once during the early afternoon, but they never made an effort to reach out and coordinate a time or come back at a different time. In hindsight, I should have visited the front desk and clarified expectations for housekeeping. Big Bonus - outdoor lounge area in the "courtyard" of the hotel next to the pool was extremely comfortable and something we used with family nearly every night.

Not very much at all I’m afraid.

The food was the worst we’ve experienced in the US by some distance. The room was small. The sofa bed was so uncomfortable my kids couldn’t sleep. $1100 for one night - an absolute rip off. And the location was a total waste of time.

Love the location and the atmosphere.

I encountered a bartender that doesn’t like her job, she did a horrible job making my drink and then tried to fix the existing one by just pouring more alcohol on top. When I received my receipt upon checkout the hotel was trying to charge me the tourism tax and resort fee that was already paid when I paid booking.com and when I expressed this to her she became very rude and said she doesn’t know why it would say that but said she’d waive the fees as a courtesy - she continuously cut me off when speaking and was extremely rude.

Clean and modern room. Nice dinning facility. Good food.

We requested an accessible room and got one, how ever the bed was so low to the floor it was extremely difficult to get out of the bed. The distance from the top of the bed frame to the top of the mattress was only about two inches and sank down to less than that when trying to get out. This caused the bed frame (wooden with sharp edge) to put too much pressure on the legs resulting in a lot of pain and some bruising. The room seem to be designed to force you out. For instance it would be nice to have a small table and two chairs for playing cards or eating a snack. There was only one comfortable chair and one straight back chair (uncomfortable) so if two people want to watch TV one needs to use the bed.

Great property. We liked the staff and found them generally helpful. But it is overpriced for the level of service you receive. We got there early and waited for our room. We had requested an early check-in but knew it was a gamble. I kept checking with the front desk and they assured me they would call when the room was ready. So I left them alone. Finally went back when it was well past the time our room should have been ready (check-in is at 4) and they said the room was ready. And said they hadn’t called because they were short-staffed. Valet took my car but didn’t charge it. These were minor things but just not what I expect for $800/night.

Really nice view of the beach from the room! Conveniently located in the heart of pismo beach so everything is very walkable. I brought my dog. Although the hotel is advertised as being pet friendly, there is no immediate grassy area for pet relief. Valet parking only (about additional $45)

The nicest dog friendly resort on the coast. Staff was very friendly and professional. Food on the Starlight lawn and the Pequin coastal Cocina is very good! And of course, the best location in Pismo to walk out onto the boardwalk, Pier and beach at any time of day or night.

I have over 2000 nights at Marriott and this hotel ranks as one of the best because of the people and location. Literally every Hotel employee I interacted with was delightful and so attentive. They also remember your name and make it feel like a custom trip just for me. The bar is more a gathering place of fun people talking about their day and enjoying great food and drinks. A real pleasure and obviously well managed hotel.
