The pillows
The rooftop was only opened at 11AM
It was very, very clean and everybody was very nice
Das Hotel liegt direkt am Pier, mit direktem Blick zum Pier
Achtung auf warmes Gewand beim Dinner, am Roof Top Restaurant ist es sehr windig, und die Heizstrahler waren defekt
Beautiful room and lovely hotel
Nothing all wonderful
Right next to the pier
The parking for pier is right in front of property
Lovely hotel on the beach. Some rooms have beach views (our didn’t). Roof top bar is nice to watch the sunset.
The beds were comfortable.
Lack of communication. It was hot in the rooms. Took 3 times to get someone to explain to leave the key card in the slot to keep the air on. There was no microwave to reheat food. The refrigerator was not cold.
Lovely room and friendly staff. Great location.
Vallet parking 30 dollar + tip. Ochtend lawaai van straat en schoonmaak ploeg. Perfect op te lossen door oordopjes wel.
Room was beautiful and spacious and clean. Love the location right next to the beach in the heart of Pismo. Breakfast is also very good in lobby. Enjoyed the water in the lobby and the coffee maker in the room
The front desk staff was very rude and cold to us. We didn't even have any issues but they were just not friendly. We also would have liked an extra set of towels in our room without asking. shower was weird and did not have a door so bathroom gets all wet and no extra towels
Perfect location, all staff, aside from the front desk, was amazing. Highly recommend reserving a daybed at the pool.
The front desk. The check in process and front desk staff (the folks we directly dealt with before the GM got involved to help) was disappointing, they lacked the most basic components of customer service. Didn’t ask for a manager, was just trying to get situated especially since we were traveling with a baby and had just had a 5 hour drive. Didn’t ask for any special accommodations or make have any type of demands (outside of just inquiring if the 2 rooms would be next to each other) was told no and accepted the answer understanding that the ask wasn’t guaranteed, but clearly there was a problem from the lack of eye contact, the mumbling and then the non productive gossiping as you’re sitting right across them wait for your room, SMH at all of it. For the price alone, do better.
Couldn’t check in until 18.00pm, Given the wrong room. Had to make our own bed. Staff not interested. Overall, wildly overpriced.
I loved the location. The rooftop was beautiful and the roof top staff were very friendly and welcoming. I also like that the customer service kept us updated once we physically got to the hotel and did everything he could to get our room cleaned.
I didn’t like that we arrived at 1pm and couldn’t get Into our room until after 5pm. I also didn’t appreciate the time of 49 minutes and multiple phone calls to the front desk that it took to receive our luggage which caused us a delay from our activities. Also was given a broken microwave to use.
The location was PERFECT
The bed was squeaky
Great location easy walk to beach and town lovely roof top terrace with great views over the pier huge rooms and very modern complimentary drink in the bar was a bonus pismo beach is one of my favourite places
This was our fourth time staying at this hotel and everything has always been perfect before. After arriving home I noticed a $250 charge on my credit card statement and I called them to find out why. They told me it was due to smoking in the room and that the next guests refused the room because of the smell. We smelled it slightly when we checked in but didn't complain. We did not smoke in that room but got charged anyway. The guests before us must have smoked in there but we got blamed for it. You would think the housekeepers would have reported it before we got the room AND before the next guests got the room. We will be staying elsewhere the next time we visit Pismo Beach. Also, we are long time Hilton Rewards members but they would not refund my $250. So disappointed.
kahvaltı zayıftı.
Location was good, super noisy and outside lights light up room
air was broke, didn’t get in my room until 6 was only cleaned 1x though asked for everyday, pool was the size of a hot tub .. one of the walls was crack mold everywhere ..
Be sure to check your folio as arbitrary charges may be added without your consent… The hotel itself is beautiful, with an excellent location just steps from the beach. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the rooftop restaurant has great ocean views. The staff I interacted with were friendly. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by billing issues. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I was told at check-in that my complimentary breakfast benefit would apply, and I even received a note confirming breakfast was complimentary. Despite that, I was later charged for breakfast. I also specifically asked about parking when I checked in. Valet was presented as the parking option, but no one mentioned there was a $30 nightly valet fee. After reviewing my folio, I found three separate valet charges totaling $70 for a single night’s stay, none of which had been disclosed or explained. I attempted to resolve these issues directly with the hotel before posting this review, but the response did not address the concerns or explain the multiple valet charges. A transparent check-in process would have made for a much better experience.
Wow. Amazing location We used to live on the central coast and this was a pit stop between Yosemite and home. Jesse at the front desk was awesome giving us details and making sure our room was ready. We got an amazing upgrade to ocean view with a fire pit. We made our way to the roof which was so busy for a Thursday but Candace helped us at the bar and made sure everyone was taken care of during a busy night! Wow- love the staff and attention to detail.

Loved the location and the fireplace room
it’s a bit pricey and have to pay for parking each night
Asked for microwave several times and never received one. The pool was closed with no explanation.
The location is great . The views are amazing .
Our sheets were visibly molded and we didn’t notice until the morning . The shower was filthy , bugs underneath the bed and old hair on the walls .
Location. Staff friendly
We waited 30 minutes for our room at 4:00. The room needed inspection. We were missing wash cloths and shower pad.
The location was fabulous, love the gas fireplace, customer service was excellent.
There was a weird smell, like a dead animal, coming from the refrigerator area
Great location to the pier, beach, shopping and restaurants. Great valet! They even had complimentary Tesla charging!
Nothing
1. Charges 30 for parking 2. Bad ghetto area. Lots of homeless and drunk people around with tons of noisy bars. If you are looking for a couple retreat and relax, this is not the place to be. 3. Lobby Bathroom was out of tissues abd paper towel. Advised the front desk and the answer was "can't do anything until tomorrow morning" 4. Water is too soft and i cannot get the soap off my body The hotel is nice but in a extremely ghetto area. Not sure what was in Hiltons mind to build this hotel in the middle of a war zone. Absolutely waste of my points and $. Do NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE AREA LOOKING FOR A QUIET PEACEFUL AREA
Staff, location and view were excellent.
Elevator was really slow and the balcony’s were a little ragged.
Everything
Expensive
Great location
The whole hotel was dirty, the service was awful, I got charged for valet I didn’t used, and when I had issues the staff was almost entirely non-responsive.
Location of the hotel is amazing. Beach is just 2 mins walk from the hotel. We really enjoyed the view of sunrise and sunset from the balcony of our room. View from the rooftop restaurant and ambience was also really great. Staff at the restaurant were amazing. We arrived late. But they accommodated our drinks and dinner requests with a smile. Rooms were clean. Valley service was also great.
Bathroom doors were not locking properly. For more than 500$ per night, bathroom and room amenities were really not great. Nothing extra to make the experience of the room memorable. Single ply toilet paper. Cheap soap that took 5 mins to remove from hand. Below average quality of toiletries. I expected way more from this hotel for the price I paid.
Location, rooftop pool
Expensive
Dirty hall carpets. Hole in hallway ceiling. Rude incompetent staff. Hotel manager did not care that our reserved room was given away AFTER we checked in. She refused to even respond or acknowledge the problem. AC very loud and disturbing. Only one elevator worked so 20 minute wait. The one common denominator is that literally all staff was wholly unconcerned that the hotel is run like a cheap motel.
The view was amazing
We had to wait past 4 for our room and they gave us cards foe 2 cheap drinks and some candy but when we got in the room the sheets on the pull out bed had not been changed and the sofa and curtains smelled bad. They brought sheets for us to change it ourselves and were stuck with dirty sheets for a few days. Every night people were loud in the halls, we could hear noise from the boiler room, construction, and the ding of elevator. When we complained they sent ear plugs and offered a noise machine that never came and they minimized are complaint by saying noise was from outside but that was muffled well by the sliding glass door. We were so tired from other guests keeping us up on and off all night. The people next to us Tuesday night to Thursday kept smoking weed and vaping and we could smell it in our room and hall. We saw them on balcony. There was only one elevator working, construction was noisy, pool was small and full of kids every time we tried to go, couldn’t figure out what part was the restaurant and how to order or where to sit. Just whole visit felt rough and not enough staff to help. Pretty sure the king bed had bed bugs. We had bites we took pictures of and google said bed bug bites. We only got bit at night and it was before we went down to the beach.
Near the beach.

We have an upcoming reservation and since we were in town early were interested in stopping by to see the room. Jean and Jesse rightaway very kindly showed us the layout and the room itself which is wonderful! We will be looking forward to our stay.
The location.
The long hallways.
Sehr gute Lage und sehr schöne Zimmer
Unser Zimmer lag zur Straße. Ab 6Uhr war es relativ laut durch Müllabfuhr usw.!
It is a beautiful location if you’d like to people watch there is no better hotel in Pizmo because you can watch everybody on the pier.
A little bit expensive, but it’s Mother’s Day
great staff and explained my stay very well. let me know the run around and made me feel very comfortable.
Loved the staff, facilities' cleanliness and design, the location near the pier and the beach.
Not having a jacuzzi. Also, pool way too small and shallow.
Perfect
Location and cleanliness
The views were amazing from the Queen room with fireplace. The rooftop bar was really nice as was the breakfast at the restaurant.
There were 3 roaches and 2 moths in our room in the 3 days we were there.
Location close to the beach
No bathtub. But the pictures showed a bath tub. The shower was ice cold.
Très bon emplacement, chambre spacieuse. Très propre
Rooftop bar
I do t have nothing to say bad
Location
Dirty room, prior quests food still on floor, shower had major rust on towel rack, that could have easily cause injury, I was really disappointed in management, especially being so new of a hotel.
We stayed at this hotel in Pismo Beach over Easter, and it was a complete failure. Check-in was late at 5:30 p.m., even though we paid in full and were supposed to get the room at 4. The front desk staff was disengaged. Room service never happened—we asked four times and got nothing. They gave us only one towel for two people. They made excuses, saying they were understaffed for a holiday, but we still paid a high price for these rooms. That’s a management issue; it’s not our responsibility to pay for understaffing. On top of that, the room still wasn’t serviced on our last day. The manager promised a $100 credit per night and waived the valet fee, but there was no record of it at checkout. Everything was sloppy, loud, and disorganized. I do not recommend this hotel—book elsewhere.
I really loved their breakfast menu, the staff were friendly, and the cypress lounge upstairs was awesome..
Not enough towels. On our first night, we only had two towels. My booking stated four people. When the room was cleaned, they didn't leave any towels. We called the front desk twice before we had towels brought up.
It’s a beautiful property steps away from the pier to the shops really nice
Clean and spacious
When I paid for hotel with a free breakfast but they still charged me for gratuity fee when we dine in for breakfast. We are 5 in total in my family then another 5 pax in my friends family but different room . We sat together and they said since we are 10 in total we need to pay for gratuity fee which is I think not to because we have our own free food voucher ( fee included when we book the room separately) - we just sat together that’s why we were 10 people in the table. Foods are perfectly delicious!
Location is fantastic.
Swimming pool was not clean. No water dispenser working in floor
Central location, short way to ocean, wharf and local restaurants & bars
Very loud due to traffic on the street, loud music, and bar underneath my hotel room :-(( I asked for a quiet room (!) and ended up in that noisy environment. Could barely sleep before 11 pm!!! And a call to the reception did not help at all !!!!
Fun area cute hotel lots of shopping and tons of food options near by
This hotel was very average, perhaps even below average. The best part of this hotel was the location. So if that’s your main concern, it’s a good choice, I guess. But I hear Vespera is great. The mold behind the bathroom door was gross but also not surprising given the room’s condition. It felt rundown. We booked a balcony room with a city view. I should have called and doubled checked because there was no ocean insight. The balcony overlooked a side street. It was very noisy at night and was not worth the additional cost because there wasn’t anything pretty outside but the public parking spots. Overall the room was loud. From our noisy upstairs neighbors to the cars on the street, it was a rough night. We ordered “food to the room.” Do not mistake that for Room Service because there was no service or even plates. A friendly person delivered our $92 breakfast in to go boxes, paper cups, and plastic utensils. Sure it was convenient but it didn’t feel worth the money and didn’t feel like a treat-yourself-moment. It felt like “wow, this was a waste of money.” The food was good, so it wasn’t a total loss. But it wasn’t special. I could have DoorDash’d the same thing for $50. Our room didn’t have a Do Not Disturb sign, so we couldn’t put it out to decline Housekeeping. I messaged the front desk and told them not we do want our room serviced. Alas, we returned from the beach and our room was serviced. Not a big deal, but the gentleman at the front desk clearly didn’t understand our request. Overall, I wouldn’t stay there again. I’ve been to Pismo many times over the past 20 years and I wasn’t impressed by this hotel.
Location was excellent and the view of the sunrise over the beach in the morning was beautiful. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable
Valet parking is expensive. Encountered issues with ants in the room every day. A bottle of water wasn't complimentary
Property is easy walk to beach and pier (about 2 blocks). Beautiful room. Had a wonderful breakfast in their dining room both Saturday and Sunday. We had Mike serve us on Saturday morning and he was terrific. So attentive and friendly and gave us good tips as to what to do in PB. Then, Tony served us on Sunday morning and he was also wonderful. What a great experience. (We also ate in the Cypress Beach Club roof top bar and that was fun, too) We are already planning our next trip back to the property. What a beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. Excellent place to stay and great location!
We heard the garbage trucks early morning both days, otherwise it was a perfect trip.
Jesse was so kind and informative. A great welcome after a long drive.
Jesse at the front desk always makes my monthly business trip a memorable one. He has showcased the best customer service I have seen and I’m a District Manager of Retail!
Great location, right beside the pier and beach, with plenty of amenities within walking distance. A great place for couples and families.
If I could rate the service I received from Mary Lou and Jesse separately as a 5, I absolutely would. But since everything is lumped into one overall rating, I’m going with a 4. We ran into some pretty big issues early on that honestly put a damper on our first day and even into the next morning. It got to the point where Jesse, Mary Lou, and I were seeing each other quite a bit while trying to work through everything. I won’t get into all the details, but most people would have been just as bothered as I was, and some might have even escalated things further. Once the issues were finally resolved, the stay turned into what we had originally envisioned. The patio and fire setup were perfect for the beach setting. My family enjoyed eating dinner by the fire and having our morning cinnamon rolls there on checkout day. The room itself was decent — we mainly chose it for the patio. The rooftop bar was nice, the kids loved swimming in the pool up there, and I used the gym and found it comfortable. Valet service was also great. What really separated this experience from other places was the way Jesse and Mary Lou handled everything. They showed understanding, empathy, patience, and truly great customer service as we worked through my major concerns. In today’s world, it sometimes feels like customer service isn’t what it used to be. The way they treated us was a reminder that great customer service still exists. I also have two little ones, and I noticed how kind they were with them — smiling, waving, and asking how their day was. Kids will be kids, and some places aren’t always the most kid-friendly, but that wasn’t the case here. They made us feel welcome as a family. After the issues we experienced, a lot of people probably wouldn’t return. But I will — and that’s directly because of the service from Mary Lou, Jesse, and the valet team. Once the corrections were made, the rest of the stay was pretty incredible 😊
Anastasia was an absolute ray of sunshine to check in with after a long day of work very positive energy very informative on hotel and amenities.
This is our second visit at Inn by the Pier and it will forever be one of our favorites. I wanted to highlight the amazing work and warmness of the staff. Especially Anastasia at the front desk, whatever she is being paid is not enough. She goes above and beyond and made our trip extra special. As well as Jesse at the front desk too, he's also amazing as well. They were helpful with our reservations and always helped when we needed anything. Breakfast in the lobby is delicious. I highly recommend the Short rib hash! Make sure you ask for a side of the house made chili Verde salsa. The rooftop restaurant is lovely in the evening. Their food selections are great as well. Like I said I cannot boast enough about this place. We will be back often, it's our new favorite spot.
It was beautiful and clean
There was no extra blankets in the closet or bath robes
I booked a quick 2 night getaway in late January here. I booked an oceanfront room which I highly recommend. Jesse who checked me in was extremely welcoming and helpful. He even helped resolve an issue with my Hilton Honors account. He informed me of all the hotel has to offer, had everything we needed and even followed up later to make sure everything was ok. The rooms are very modern and nice. They have large showers, nice sinks and a private door to the toilet. They also have normal bathroom doors instead of the "peek a boo" doors most new hotels have now. The rooms are well designed with a bunch of outlets and USB ports, although there were non by the side of the bed on the couch side. The cons of these rooms are notable however. They are not built soundproof so you can hear the people above you. Definitely book the third floor if possible. The AC unit is incredibly loud and goes on and off sporadically. There is also a car park out front so if you plan to sleep late that may get disrupted by an angsty motorist blasting music. I am a lightish sleeper and slept pretty well but if you are a very light sleeper you may struggle. We also went to the Bar/Rooftop restaurant a couple times. The staff up there is fantastic and incredibly accommodating. They have a great happy hour and a good selection of food and drinks. The quality was also very good for a hotel restaurant. The views up there are also spectacular. I personally felt like I could spend a few days here and not need to leave walking distance of my hotel. With that said the location is pretty great as you can go to the butterfly grove, Avila beach, SLO and several other places without a long drive. Overall I was very happy with my stay and plan to come again sometime. Feedback for management would be to make a better effort on maintenance. While it wasn't worth knocking a star off my review the shower holder was rusting, my ice machine and water dispenser on my floor was broken, and the room was missing some basics like wine opener, glasses etc that every other 4 star hotel I have been in has had.
The guest experience at the front desk was great. Jesse is a bright spot for the trip and does a great job making the guest feel that they are the most important part of the equation. He also loves his job and loves people. He even said, “I love this hotel”. That kind of passion is priceless. The rooms feel clean and fairly updated. My experience has been positive. I’d come back here.
Everything about it was amazing clean and comfortable
Large room and clean
Bad coffee machine and noisey from outside the room woke us up at 6:30am
The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Jesse provided excellent customer service, he was professional, friendly and knowledgeable.
We upgraded to have a fire pit room.
What we didn’t realise was that this meant this would be a ground floor room backing into a scary car park. We saw multiple scary homeless people, cars sitting in the car park all night playing music and multiple rounds of police checking these cars out. This hotel backs onto a car park which can become dodgy at night.

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
7.6/10Mixed sentiment: several guests described the hotel as "very, very clean," while others reported issues with bed/room cleanliness and noted it could be improved ('ausbaufähig').
Service
8.5/10Mixed but generally decent: some guests praised friendly staff and a welcome rooftop drink, but others reported a cold/rude front desk, having to change rooms mid-stay, and understaffed communication at times.
Location
9.5/10Consistently praised: excellent pier/beach-front location, close to restaurants and attractions, often cited as a primary reason guests liked the hotel.
Room Quality
8.5/10Mostly positive: comfortable beds and attractive rooms noted, but some rooms had noisy air conditioning, awkward showers (short curtain/no door), wheelchair-configured rooms when not needed, and isolated issues like a non-working patio fireplace.
Amenities
7.5/10Mixed amenities: rooftop bar and lobby features (water, coffee) were liked, but guests complained about mandatory $30 valet parking, rooftop heaters being broken/windy conditions, lack of microwave, and a refrigerator that wasn't cold.
Value for Money
6.2/10Below the overall rating: several guests called the hotel "pricy" and repeatedly complained about the extra $30 parking fee (valet) making the stay less good value.
Food and Beverage
8.6/10Generally positive: breakfast in the lobby received praise and guests appreciated complimentary rooftop arrival drinks; however, dining on the rooftop can be windy and cold when heaters are not working.
Overall Experience
