It’s a beautiful location in el centro behind the church. Lovely view and very comfortable room. The bell does chime every hour but the hotel provides ear plugs if you are very noise sensitive. We had dinner at La Cappella restaurant and it was excellent. Emanuel at the front desk made sure we were comfortable and helped us with everything we needed during our stay.
Nothing
The views, service, atmosphere, interior design, infinity pool, Michelin star food at the restaurant.
Nothing
The views and architecture are amazing
It’s a bit of a climb up the hill from downtown but it’s doable.
We very much enjoyed our stay here. Everyone working there was great. Daniela and Ricardo greeted us and got us settled in even though we arrived rather early. The room was great and the views fantastic. The restaurant on the premises is top quality.
Location was perfect, beautiful place to stay
Exquisitely renovated, this stunning property boasts of historical charm, with modern conveniences. Nestled on the hillside behind the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, each of the 7 rooms in this boutique hotel offer stunning views of both the domed Cathedral and the bay, from the rooms and their expansive balconies. Each room has a different layout, with unique furnishings. There is a strong religious element to the design, with respect to the nearby Cathedral. Overall, it is a charming, calming, luxurious jewel of a property. La Capella, the main restaurant, offers panoramic views of Puerta Vallarta and the bay. The sky is a magical, colorful display each evening, entertaining dinner guests, while the sun is setting. A trio of violinists serenade the diners in the frescoed-ceiling, main dining room, which is open-aired on the ocean side, greatly enhancing the views. This area is used for hotel guests each morning, offering a wide-spread breakfast menu. Reservations for dinner are open to the public and shouldn’t be missed, especially for memorable events. The property is built climbing a hillside and spans several stories, accessed by exterior stairs. This could be challenging, should you have issues, but there are some rooms closer to the restaurant, with fewer stairs. My 77 year old husband noticed his stamina improving daily, due to the exercise. This was our second stay. We greatly yearn to return to a place that has deeply touched our hearts.
The space, food, and people
Bell ringing at 2:00am
What a very special hotel❣️ 1) The location cannot be beat. Every room has the most fantastic view of the bay with the beautious golden domes of "Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe" in the foreground. The Malacon is just three blocks down the hill and very easy to walk to. 2) The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and beautifully appointed. So romantic! 3) All the staff were extremely helpful and very charming and kind. 4),Room and linens are spotless and luxurious. 5) Very thoughtful amenities like an iron and ironing board, a sewing kit, a mini fridge, a coffee maker, cups, glasses, silverware and an ice maker were provided in the room. And robes and slippers. They really have thought of anything you could possibly need. 6) We read the disclaimer about the church bells. However, they are muffled at night and their sound is very charming and really not very loud during the day. Also, the rooms have double paned windows and doors. So any extraneous sounds can be completely blocked out just by closing them. 7) The air conditioner was extremely efficient and quiet. And gets extra bonus points for being positioned Away from the bed ...and Not over it. Bedroom and bathroom both had fans to circulate the air in the ten foot ceilings. 8) The other disclaimer, we read was about the steps. However, they are well lit, all have hand rails and feel very easy, sturdy and safe. There really aren't too many and they add greatly to the charm of the hotel. If you can walk at all you will be fine. (not wheelchair accessible) 9) OH, the loveliness of the plantings❣️ we had a giant golden plumeria in full bloom on our patio. There are lovely and well curated plantings and pots all around the hotel. And fresh flowers in the rooms. And birds outside. We woke to little chirping birds every morning, and yellow parrot of some kind and a cheeky blackbird in the plumaria. 10) Breakfast was wonderful and they are very accommodating to fussy people like me who don't eat eggs.
We hated to leave! I
Location and views are excellent. Right in the heart of central PV. We loved everything about our stay. You should know that there are a lot of levels and stairs that you have to take to get to your room. Also, the bell from the church is loud. We knew this prior to booking and we felt it just added to the charm of the place.
The staff was amazing and went above and beyond. The restaurant was great. View of the water was wonderful. We loved it.
The Bellview is in an extraordinary situation in Puerto Vallarta. It has an added advantage of being away from the crowds. And it has fabulous views. Great quarter clock with extras helps noise sleep 💤
The pool was too small, although nice cold plunge, but not recommended as you have to leave by 4pm! And this is serious folks!?! Literally “told off”. Pfff
Can’t remember his name but the guy at the front desk who greeted us & showed us to the room was phenomenal! So very nice & explained everything to us.
Beautiful hotel. Tastefully furnished and decorated. Outstanding view overlooking the church. Impeccable service. Plunge pool to cool off. Quiet despite the restaurant.
Super charming and antique, but comfortable and luxury. The best views in the entire city for sure.
Amazing staff, amazing location, incredible room, patio views
I wish I had been able to stay longer
Amazing experience- a really special place. Best hotel room (and bathroom) I’ve ever stayed! Note it is louder especially on Sundays as the bell tower rings but with some earplugs (provided) I slept great!
The location and views are unreal. Amazing just to lounge in the room and take in the views. Place is also very centrally located and easy to get to the beach and Old Town. Breakfast was really nice - expect a lot of food. If you're able to, dinner at La Capella is a really nice experience.
Nothing major stood out. Perhaps a larger table to hold the breakfast foods in the morning. A gym would be nice, but not really needed.
Love the location, the view and the rooms. It’s a beautiful hotel.
The bells go off all day and night, but if you use the ear plugs the hotel provides, it’s much better at night!
View Center location Spacious
Breakfast food was mediocre Bells of the very near church , ring very often
I didn’t have the breakfast the location was decent There is never any hot water in the bathroom sink I got my room clean one day and they did not give me any bath towels I asked for them for hours later today I still didn’t get them check out is too early it’s 11 AM
The pool closes right at 4 o’clock no swimming in the afternoon I guess
Taxi schon. Schön am Hang in der Altstadt.

Such a gorgeous place, we can’t wait to go back!!! And next time we are going to stay longer!!! We booked this place to be as close as possible to the Dia de Los Muertos festivities and it was perfect!!! Our room was so comfy and spacious with an awesome walk-in style open shower!!! The ice machine in it was such a nice touch!!! My husband and I especially enjoyed our own private terrace with a stunning view of the Cathedral and the world’s tallest Catrina, as well as the fragrant plumeria tree and the pot of basil!!! We have been to Italy numerous times and love it so much!!! This property reminded us of it and made us feel like home, from the decor and ambience to the ringing of the church’s bells!!! We were not bother by them at all, quite the opposite!!! Indeed for us that was an added bonus to the beautiful view and another reason for us to book!!! The pool and the restaurant both have views of the church and the bay!!! Breakfast was delicious and our waiter was very accommodating and friendly!!! It’s a fixed price and there are a few options to choose from. Unfortunately for us we didn’t have dinners there even though we totally fell in love with the restaurant and its atmosphere!!! That’s due to the menu being a bit limited for vegetarians!!! Not to mention vegan and gluten free options seem to be even less!
Violinists at a superó dinner Most romantic hotel I’ve ever stayed at Pool closes at 4 tho and there’s no bar but staff will go out of their way to accommodate you
Pool closed at 4 No bar
As always, our annual stay at the Bellview could be described as excellent, albeit too short. The staff is amazing and the food and accommodations are absolutely wonderful. The top feature of the hotel is it's location. You are right behind the church at the center of PV (you will hear the bells go off regularly, but they are charming). We thoroughly enjoy our breakfast every morning with the most incredible view of PV and the Banderas Bay. It is breathtaking! Can't wait to be back this winter.
The view is spectacular, the service was superb, there were no complaints.
nothing
the kindest service the most beautiful setting. up on the hill just a few blocks from the tourist beach chaos with extensive views of the pacifica. the sounds of the amazing church bells are like a lullaby along with the sounds of the ocean and the birds. the views and the homes up here are breathtaking. i've stayed in several rooms and they all are special in their own way. everyone who works here has been kind and helpful (i can be difficult too and no one get annoyed with me.) i wish i never had to leave! they have a lovely breakfast too.
walking up to the hotel on many different patches provided an adventure every time i returned home. each street is stairs is decorated differently. so beautiful,
If you want to feel like you are living in million-dollar view with the most charming rooms and dining, this is the place. Incredible vista and views across the old town to the ocean. Wonderful room with a balcony and traditional furnishings which reflected the high-end charm of the hotel. Dinner overlooking the old town, was breathtaking. We loved the sound of the church bells, they are loud and literally in front of the hotel, but that’s part of its charm, and we didn’t mind the steps down to the lower part of town, the climb up is well worth it.
My husband and I had a great experience here. This hotel is a gem in the city of PV. I would certainly stay here again. The staff is friendly and so accommodating. The back gate of the property is in the heart of the city and an easy walk to the Romantic zone. Loved the historic feel of the hotel. The two hang ups are there are LOTS of bells from the church, it was hard to get use to and there are a lot of stairs so if you aren't use to walking stairs you may struggle here. Otherwise an amazing place to stay. Beautiful details everywhere!
Beautiful hotel, excellent service. The staff was so nice and helpful. The room was clean, the view was stunning.
We absolutely LOVED this cute little place. The room was amazing! We had 2 of our very own balconies with a view that's out of this world! Only problem was our main balcony was right above the restaurant in the hotel so we could to smell the AMAZING Italian food every night haha. We went there for dinner one night and couldn't have asked for any better. The food was outstanding, service was unbeatable, and the violin players were on point! I'm not one to leave reviews but this place needs a shout out!! I would stay there again and again. We stayed for 5 days. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. This was the place we had dreamed of and we found it at the Bellview! 15 out of 10 stars!
Beautiful room, with spectacular view. The room was very spacious with excellent facilities. We had the most wonderful stay. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and made our stay very special. This is a very unique and enchanting boutique hotel in the best location of Puerto Vallarta. Can't wait to return!
We had the best stay at this hotel! The room “Guadalupana” was beautiful, the staff was helpful and kind and the location couldn’t get better. We loved staying at a smaller property, as most days we had the pool to ourselves. They do not lie about the church bells though. They also ring during the middle of the night if you are a light sleeper. However, if we ever find ourselves back in Puerto Vallarta we will book this hotel again.
The place was very nice, clean, beautiful beach and people very friendly as well, but like “the bell” name, that was bother me at night, wake me up many times and the hotel location at the hills area, so need strong legs 😅
Beautiful property, helpful friendly staff, will definitely be back!
Pros: Beautiful hotel, gorgeous views, convenient location close to the center, amazing customer service and accomodating staff. Cons: room needs deep cleaning (furniture hand prints, windows, floors). Overall would stay again.
Absolutely exceptional hotel, stunning views! The 2 rooms we had were gorgeous with a lot of attention to detail - there was a chandelier in the bathroom, and a fountain in our own personal courtyard! I thought the church bells may have been a bit annoying, but they were beautiful and added to the experience! (I would also recommend having a look in the church it is so gorgeous). The onsite restaurant was an absolute treat - think sunset and violins.. Don't be put off by the stairs, they aren't at all bad, it is worth it!

Beautiful. Bed was very comfortable.
We stayed at BellView hotel for the first time with our wedding party and we we most definitely be back. We absolutely LOVED our stay - the location is fantastic and the staff is wonderful. Downtown PV is within walking distance and the rooms are gorgeous and so unique. Not to mention the VIEW!! The beds are spacious and comfortable, the AC works great, and the design and character of each room is charming and beautiful. Would highly recommend staying here!!
This is the most beautiful and unique hotel I have ever stayed at and we have traveled US and Europe extensively. Every room is unique and authentic to the Mexican Culture. Gorgeous tiled bathrooms, curved ceilings covered in brick and antique furniture. The setting of this hotel feels like you stepped back in time (with of course modern luxuries). It is walkable to the Malecon with steps but if steps are not your thing - then very easy to catch a taxi. Love this hotel!!
Amazing beautiful property. Dinner in their bar was delicious. We hope to travel there and stay again.
Everything. The design of the place was spectacular, especially my room in particular. Fuentes Milagros is the best room I have ever had. It really felt like home.
I liked everything.
Hotel has character
Well situated to be able to walk around the area. Beautiful views. Fantastic food. Wonderful staff. Loved the lower door exit that prevented a block of stairs.
It was all wonderful.
We loved hearing the church bells!! We stayed in the Paraíso room. The view was breathtaking!! The food at the restaurant was delicious. There was no attention to detail that was left out. The staff was welcoming and very professional. We are definitely going to stay there again.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t love about the property and location. I did get a reality check on how out of shape I am with climbing the stairs up to the hotel.😂
The view was spectacular- the room was great. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a large outside space and a bonus balcony accessed by a spiral staircase. The Italian restaurant on site was very popular and reservations are essential. It has the best view in the city and the violin serenade while dining is perfection for a romantic evening.
The safe in the room was not bolted down so we didn't feel safe leaving our valuables inside. The bathroom was a little antiquated and the shower pressure was subpar, if you have mobility issues, stepping into the shower could be challenging. It has a massive marble bathtub with beautiful pillars which looks impressive but not so practical to access. The location of the hotel is accessed via very steep streets and again for people with mobility issues this may be an issue. The workaround is to grab a taxi or an Uber!
Love, love, love this place. Everything is spectacular!
Let me start with the location is on point, we walked everywhere including the beach, el malecon, restaurants, taco stands... The hotel is beautiful, our room is below the restaurant and we had no issue with noise from the restaurant.. Our problem was the church... Oh my god, we were woken up 15 to 20 times in the middle of the night to church ringing bells, we were so ehausted during the day becuase of lack of sleep that when we go back home, we slept like babies... I don't know if we were there at the wrong time, but our experience was not good with the noise.
The property is gorgeous with very wonderful and attentive staff. Our room was very large with a lovely balcony and a view that couldn’t be beat. The restaurant breakfasts were huge. We enjoyed a very lovely dinner at La Capella and could easily have eaten there more than once. The location is just perfect. The grounds are immaculate. We hope to stay again and bring friends next time!
I read the reviews so was prepared for hot water issues- it was annoying but not so it that would keep me from staying. I would say the noise from the bar, the restaurant and the front desk area would deter me perhaps from that particular room again. The church bells didn’t bother us at all!
There are a lot of stairs! But it’s a charming place! Great location! The staff was excellent! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating… they felt more like family! It’s a beautiful boutique find!
Our first time staying at the Bellview Boutique Hotel and it definitely won’t be our last. Our room was beautiful, with an amazing view and very clean. Loved the ice machine perk, very nice. The staff are outstanding, very friendly, and helpful. This hotel was such a treat. We loved that the hotel was small and quiet, very relaxing. The new pool is great and even though the weather was not the best we enjoyed sitting in the lounge chairs taking in the ambiance and view. People talk about the church bells, and yes the bells do ring and it seems at times with no rhyme or reason but we knew this going into the hotel and we felt it was just part of being near a beautiful church and staying here. The bells did not bother us. Highly recommended a stay at this property
It’s stunning, unique and full of charm. Beware of the church bells- if you are a light sleeper, consider some earplugs. Overall, a must try out for a gem of a hotel in PV.
Stunning views and location cannot be beat. Spacious ! We stayed in the Sacristian room, beautiful balcony and another rooftop balcony for our private use. The New Years fireworks we had the best location to watch it all by ourselves with a bottle of wine. Breakfast included was the best bet. Cooked to order every morning and served till noon!! Only thing I noticed was our bed needs to be updated. Walked every day to the gulch and back, nice and quiet. Artisan shops and various flea markets to spend time. Will never forget this New Years Vacation.
We loved it all BUT If you don’t like noise from the restaurant on site LaCapella or church bells then you won’t like this.
This hotel is beautiful and one of my favorites. I can’t wait to come back for another visit.
Nothing! It is perfect.
This is a uniquely beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious with nice outdoor spaces and all with amazing views. The staff were helpful and quick to respond. Easy access to the town, restaurants, and the beach if you don't mind some hill climbs.
The only downside were the church bells, which rang every 15 minutes plus added bells that often seemed random. But with provided earplugs, they didn't interrupt our sleep.
A wonderful boutique hotel with a superb view of the church and the ocean. The church's bell did not bother us at all. the breakfast was excellent and the service great. A nice place to relax.
If the small pool was heated if would have been perfect. The sun reaches the pool only around noon.
This hotel is gorgeous. The décor could be too much, but it's not, it's just perfect and it felt authentic. The room was very private, spacious with a beautiful bath room, balcony with a beautiful view, great size bed, and all the amenities you might need. The pool area is not big, but is enough, the pool was the perfect temperature and we had a wonderful afternoon with drinks. The service is their strong suite. All the team (Noelia and Daniela from reception, Alfredo and all the servers from the bar and restaurant) were so welcoming and professional. Everything is very clean, and we had wonderful days here!
The only thing in our opinion wasn't great, was the food. We felt the breakfast was not even close to the quality of the hotel. It's very limited, fruit, pancake, eggs and bacon. It's heavy food for the weather and the exact same thing everyday. It was ok for one and maybe even 2 days, but on the third we were eating just the fruit and juice, sometimes a pancake. We could definitely improve their menu and give us a few more choices. The food was also not good on the dinner we had in their restaurant. Overall we felt it was not mexican food (or italian if you consider the restaurant cuisine) but just bad american.

The hotel was amazing! It was so unique and quaint. Staff is incredible. They’re all extremely friendly and you get to know them as friends. They help you with any and everything you need.
The hotel is beautiful and my room felt like a villa. It was private and had a huge patio with beautiful views. Everyone at the hotel was warm and helpful.
the location is gorgeous and the suite was very spacious.
It is built on the side of a fairly steep incline and you have many many stairs
Romantic room setting with an excellent view, complete with AC and fans Restaurant on property was delicious for dinner, and breakfast served there was also lovely Staff was a joy to work with I would highly recommend for anyone to stay here…very intimate, off the beaten path of the typical stay in Puerto Vallarta
Nothing! Just keep in mind it is on a hill, so walking anywhere will require an incline walk at some point.
The rooms were unique and spacious, very clean! The property had gorgeous views, a fantastic pool and we loved the bell! The staff was amazing! Will definitely come back!!
It was all fantastic!
The location was perfect. Close to great restaurants in the romantic zone. Staff was super friendly and accommodating.
The church bells were pretty annoying, but the hotel provides ear plugs.
This place is wonderful. Very old world, elegant style with beautiful views. Service was outstanding and a great representation of the best of what PV has the offer. Do no hesitate; book a stay here. I've been back several times and will continue to stay here.
Property was fantastic
No complaints
Breakfast was good but not great and very expensive.
Toilet was for children
The building a rooms are beautiful with an old world authentic Mexican feel. It was quiet and the restaurant’ Capella’ was delightful with a lovely string trio!
This boutique hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Vallarta. It shares the same space as La Cappella restaurant. Our room was spacious and we had an amazing view of the bay. I have read reviews about people complaining about the church bells but that did not bother us. You will have to deal with some noise from the restaurant on Sunday mornings if you were wanting to sleep in. In the end we dealt it was great value and ticked off all the boxes.
Would come back here in a heartbeat! The entire staff was so accommodating and welcoming. The rooms & aesthetic of the place were amazing. Perfect location and walkable to the boardwalk! I will be back
location clean
if check in is at 3 pm how is posible that the swiming pool closes at 330 pm is absurd becouse the little swiming pool they haveis the only good reason to book an overrr price room also the italian restaurant is also overprice
This is by far one of the most beautiful boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The views are outstanding and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. If you are a light sleeper the bells may keep you up at night. But I found them to be quite charming
Room was beautiful. Church was under construction so there was scaffolding and workers who could see directly into our bed.
Hotel was nice, slight problem with late night access to hotel after tour show.
Hot water
This hotel was the best part of our trip! The details and design were incredible, it felt so comfortable and luxurious. The bed was comfy and the view was awesome. So many good restaurants within walking distant and lots to explore!
Many reviews talk about the bell, and that's the biggest downside. It's not on a timer, so people can quite literally ring it at any point of the day, for as long as they want. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but definitely something to think about ifyou're looking for a more quiet, relaxing stay.
Great people to stay with same service like last year
BEST location in PV if you're looking to be near the Malecon (boardwalk) and view the bay next to the iconic bell tower of the towns church. Food was top tier and view of bay from their balcony was second to none (dinners had a violin trio) !!!
Door shutters would not stay closed - they are wooden and fall open.
Absolutely the nicest view in PV. The restaurant experience is one of the nicest we have ever had. Very helpful staff.
I stayed only one night at the Bellview in order to experience the old city, as I was at the Mousai resort the rest of my trip. My overnight stay was magical in that my room was huge, authentic, and had a gorgeous patio with incredible views. Dinner at the onsite Italian restaurant was extraordinary, and service at the bar was fantastic. I was not able to take the hot bath I had hoped for in the soaking tub, as there was insufficient hot water, but that is the only thing that wasn’t close to perfect. I will come again!
The parking and street access are horrible but it goes with the location. The accommodations are beautiful and large rooms, large bathrooms and the balcony area was spectacular. The Breakfast I included was wonderful and delicious served on the terrace. Luxury, great dining, historical charm! Also they contacted us about items left behind and held them safely for 4 days when we could retrieve them.
