Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Beautiful hacienda style property, very clean and well located. The staff was also very professional.
Nothing to mention.
This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. And the staff were absolutely amazing. It’s a real paradise and stunningly curated. It feels like stepping into a fairytale.
We ordered a suite and felt that for the extra money we were expecting something a little more opulent. The room was beautiful but felt a little cramped compared to some of the other rooms.
The place is beautiful in every way. The way it's decorated, the view, the amenities, and every room is so unique.
The stairs. I stayed in what would be the 3rd floor, and the stairs can be a lot. Especially after walking up the stairs in the street.
The staffs are so friendly and supportive, the hotel very cute and clean. The restaurant is also delicious!
Pillow is not comfortable.
Beautiful old school boutique hotel
Location
The amenities the hotel offered, Multiple swimming pools, good breakfast, comfortable rooms, chocolates every night, the location, the restaurant, during your stay it does not feel like a crowded place
Nothing
Attitude of kitchen staff
- no intent from reception staff to make us feel confortable. - excessive pricing (2 beers + 2 sandwiches 100 us) - room with no view - loud music from street at 5 am -long time for hot water in shower -small pool
Beautiful, peaceful, excellent, top of the line accommodations. The staff takes care and so friendly, your every need is answered before you even ask. A place you wouldn’t want to leave once arrived. Luxury and beyond.
You really have to see this place to capture it. So elegant. Such amazing service. Spectacular views. Pool open 24/7.
The property is gorgeous but the staff make this hotel. Absolutely perfect service at every level, and graciously authentic. Every single interaction was a pleasure. We came because it looked beautiful but we’ll come back because of the people. We actually already came back since our first stay last week 😆 love love love it here.

Breakfast was not enough good in volume and contents
What an exceptional property! Me and my wife celebrated our anniversary in the San Miguel Presidential Suite…amazing. The large ocean view patio, the rooftop hot tub, the views, the location, the wonderful staff, the well appointed suites and grounds. Truly a special place!
This was the last stop on a 3 hotel PV vacation - the day before we checked in my wife jokingly said “this place better be perfect”- someone how expectations were exceeded!!!! The staff were amazing and friendly , the food was great and every brink in that building was perfection. Sitting on a covered porch, surrounded by antiques and artwork , watching the rain hit the ground level pool, while drinking a margarita, felt like a little slice of perfection - my family will be back and for more days!!!! Thank you for an incredible 2 days!!!!!
The service is excellent! You felt welcome and they even called you by your name.
Gorgeous property. Wonderful staff. Nice rooms with beautiful views. The service is exceptional. Food is good. Breakfast included. Decent location.
Unique design decor and large comfortable rooms. But the location is very far from other sites. You need to taxi in and taxi out. Area around hotel needs attention.
Hacienda San Angel was an exquisite blend of ancient charm and rustic elegance. It possesses a magical atmosphere infused with the soul and comfort of a beloved friend's home. Beyond the historic walls lie a series of courtyards planted with vibrant flora and comfortable seating for reading, conversation or enjoying the warmth of the sun. The staff was hospitable and made my visit to memorable
It felt like you were staying inside someone’s house instead of a hotel, but with all the hotel amenities. It was a great experience; very quiet. There weren’t any kids when we went. We had the San Jose suite which was at the highest level. You have the option to eat the continental breakfast anywhere in the Hacienda. Ad was a little deceiving because it isn’t on the beach and there is no gym. There aren’t any elevators; except for the Michelin star restaurant.
Staff & accommodations were excellent. The staff is superb. My husband leff his phone in a taxi that we got, the hotel did not order it for us. The staff went above & beyond to help us find the phone which was an impossible task. They did track it down & my husband got his phone back. And the entire staff is superb in Every way. Everything g was excellent.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Hacienda San Angel. An incredible and intimate property with world class service from the entire team (a special shout-out to Luis for his attentiveness to us and to Mariana for her support prior to our arrival). We are looking forward to our next visit to this amazing property.
We had our Wedding here and it was the most lovely experience. The staff was so accommodating and friendly especially Luis he catered to are every whim. We will 100% be coming back again. We hated to leave.
What a wonderful place to stay, so beautiful! The hotel has alot of character and the staff is very friendly and welcoming! We will definitely be back and stay longer next time! We enjoyed it so very much!!!
A very, very special place to stay we were really impressed by the grounds the rooms and the wonderful staff. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful property. Staff was amazing and courteous and took care of every need.
The hacienda is a beautiful place, with historic charm and very well maintained. We arrived on a Friday, parking is a challenge, it would be great if they had valet parking or best to use a taxi. The staff is friendly and we stayed at the San Miguel presidential suite. It’s the best room with so much space and a balcony bigger than most apartments. You get 270 degree view of the city, mountain and ocean and my God what a view. The food options in the restaurant are fantastic, and they have a mariachi band playing during dinner. The mariachi band sang beautifully and I appreciated that they weren’t obnoxiously loud, interrupting a perfectly nice dinner. I had a great experience, make sure to experience every corner of the hacienda, the details and architecture are so beautiful. Thanks to the owners and staff for maintaining this hidden gem, we will be back soon.
The perfect destination for celebrating a special moment, for us it was our thirtieth wedding anniversary, and we invited six couples to join us at Hacienda San Angel. The romance and beauty of the hotel, both common areas and rooms, brought out the best in everyone and left us all with beautiful memories.
Such an amazing hotel!
From the moment we were greeted at the door we felt at home. Lovely, lovely small hotel with interesting history. Every person working here was so pleasant and accommodating. The mgr. has some very sweet , small rescue pups she brings to work and they were a pleasure. We were greeted each morning by Luis who took the time to talk with us and remembered how we liked our morning coffee and he just made us feel so welcome each time we saw him. I highly recommend this lovely hotel. If you do t stay here you should save a night to enjoy dinner in their rooftop restaurant for delicious food, fine service, amazing sunset and live music.
Absolutely gorgeous inside. What a treat. Oozing with charm and class. The pools, the rooms, the grounds and the views are spectacular. Unique, historical and unparalleled location and history. Street noise is a bit loud in the front, choose a room in the back if you’re really sensitive to noise. It’s at the top, be prepared to hike or uber. You have to work for views like these. 😎 Loved every inch of this place. Staff were caring and attentive.
Beautiful facilities, great pool area, comfortable rooms, very clean, kind and helpful staff, delicious cocktails and pool side food
Breakfast was just ok. The food and wine at the diner restaurant was just ok.
The hotel is located on an unassuming street in old town PV. When you first arrive you have to pull the mission bell to gain entrance to the courtyard of this old style beautiful Mexican hacienda. It is absolutely stunning, has lots of tucked away common areas with patios and or pools to relax. We also enjoyed a beautiful evening on the roof top restaurant overlooking PV and the ocean while being serenaded by a Mariachi band. It was incredible.
Great!
Children? We thought they weren’t allowed. Impeccable service, staff is amazing. Our queen bed was very uncomfortable. We were unable to use the pool because a family had a two year-old and they overtook the pool all day every day. Not a quiet experience at all. We understood this to be the property did not permit children.
I have stayed at both Casa Kimberly and Hacienda San Angel at times before. This may have been more user error and booking through here instead of directly but our accommodation seemed to be an afterthought for the hotel. There are many incredible rooms in this hotel that justify the cost. This was not one of them. Tiny room snuck below one of the view patios. Patio furniture dragged along the floor above us from 7am onward. Just be cautious of which room you book.
setting and design was warm and inviting Staff were wonderful
better pastries for breakfast . Pastries were warm but soggy. brighter light at bed for reading.
I stayed at the Hacienda San Angel from March 25, 2025 to April 1, 2025. The Tuesday we arrived my wife had already book dinner at their restaurant so we didn't have to go out after the flight from Mexico City. After our meal, we decided to stroll around the hotel grounds to get acquainted with the property; I started climbing up the steps of a beautiful staircase they light up at nigh with candles, and had barely reached the top when an employee started yelling at me and telling me I wasn't supposed to be there; I promptly climbed down. We continued to walk around and I went up another staircase to the right of the reception – bad idea! I was checking the city's night scene from up above when the same employee appeared again. She stared shouting I wasn't supposed to be there; my wife, who had stayed at the bottom of the stairs, told her we were guests and she calmed down considerably. Next morning I went up to the reception to tell about the incident but the receptionist said the manager wasn't around and promised to convey my complaint as soon as she saw him/her; we stayed in the hotel for almost a week after that but I never heard from the manager. The lady in question showed up at our door one morning, looking contrite, and offered me a bottle of wine as an apology. I don't blame the incident on the employee's ignorance, lack of tact or intolerance, I blame it on management's inadequate training and sensitivity. You make copies of guests' passports so, use that information to avoid seeing your own employees go around offending and insulting the same people who pay the bills. It was at the end of the 1800's when Mr. César Ritz stared running luxury hotels in France; it would be useful to you to read his accounts about how to handle safety and security the right way – or just ask the Israelis. I appreciate your concern for the security of your hotel – after all it's my home for however long I stay – but do not do it at the expense of your guests' respect and dignity. Yours truly, Manuel J Galaviz
This was a beautiful hotel/hacienda with amazing service and food options. Will definitely be returning to this gem.
The place is quite unique with its opulent colonial ambience. The property has quite a selection of 17th-19th century European and Mexican antiques. The 3 pools were clean and relaxing. The dinner with an authentic mariachi band was truly a memorable experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs.
This place is a classic in design, luxury and service. Staff are amazing and vested in making sure the experience is outstanding. Quality throughout with special ambiance. Excellent brunch on Sunday with live music. Mariachi most nights at the restaurant. Twice a day room service with ice water in the room. Lovely chocolates at turndown. We try to visit every year and are always thrilled.
Beautiful property. Beautiful rooms. Excellent dinner. Very friendly and helpful staff
Nothing
Best Small Luxury Hotel Ever! This is cultural luxury at its best. Privately owned and perfectly managed.
There wasn’t one single thing that we didn’t like.
Beautiful Hacienda! The staff were excellent and attentive to all our needs.
Hacienda San Angel is unbelievably awesome!
Absolutely loved San Angela from the moment you walk in your awe struck with beauty and architecture. The whole staff was friendly and welcoming the entire time. The location is perfect for shopping and dinning. We didn’t rent a car this time and honestly probably wouldn’t have used it. unless you really wanted to go somewhere further away or down the coast every thing you need is a short 6-8min walk. There is a lot of stairs to get down to the boardwalk or ocean but they are totally doable and get easier with time and practice. Would 💯 recommend the hacienda to everyone.
Excellent all round
This place is an absolute gem in the middle of PV and yet so quiet, like a stunning, elegant, hospitable sanctuary that I didn't want to leave! I have dined here before in their amazing restaurant (with the most beautiful and different Mariachi that I have ever heard! so quiet and elegant), and have always wanted to stay here. The staff is so incredibly attentive, they take such genuine care of you with such kindness. The property is beautifully appointed with antiques and a history that they share with you through all kinds of interesting written information if you are interested to know more. The rooms are so comfortable, comfortable beds, filtered water in the whole property, multiple swimming pools and lovely lounge areas, amazing food. I can't speak highly enough about this property! You really could just stay here the whole time in PV and enjoy immensely. And it is also a very close walk to the Malecon and some other great restaurants if you would like to venture out.
Quiet. Attentive staff
This restaurant is off the charts GREAT! We have Sunday brunch here every time we are in Vallarta. The attentive service, food, view and ambiance is so welcome. Very relaxing. We love it here. The buffet is outstanding. So many selections to choose from and you can have seconds! I love the prime rib. My husband loves the prawns. The dessert table is so great, we have a hard time choosing. They have a cook station where you can choose your own ingredients for omelettes etc and they cook it right there. So fresh! Walking through the entrance feels like oldtime Vallarta. Manicured green grass, water fountains, statues, wishing well, tiled stairs up to their open-aired restaurant, vivid colors of flowers, trees and bushes, white tablecloths and napkins on the tables. The cloth napkins are embroidered with HSA. The professional violinist 🎻 is outstanding! HSA is attentive to every detail to make your meal very enjoyable. Thank you for all you do! We will be back ☺️!
This property is outstanding and the staff is superb! I would recommend to the property that they upgrade internet service in the rooms to provide better high speed experience. Other than that, it was wonderful!
This is my favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta! Over the years I have had my birthday dinner there, but last night I went for Christmas dinner for the first time and it was incredible as usual! From the greeting at the front door, to the service (our waiter, Marco, was beyond perfect!) and quality of food to the Mariachis…..a new tradition has begun! Thank you, Paula Castaneda for never disappointing!
Absolutely gorgeous. Amazing staff and beautiful accommodations
Very pricey
this is as beautiful as it looks. I've been twice and sent tow friends there too. I love it, and can't wait to go back!
An outstanding colonial hacienda. Extraordinary physical space, on-site restaurant is fantastic. This is a VIP destination, not touristy or beach-life oriented. Best for seasoned, premium travelers.
Beautiful place, great staff, slippers are not complementary, the stairs to the Malecon get you at end of night out, lol. The restaurant is unbelievably incredible!!!
OMG our stay there was fantastic. Completely exceeded our expectations. The property is so beautiful, filled with stunning art and antiques, fountains and pools. So many lovely spaces to relax and enjoy. And the staff was equally incredible. They could not do enough for their guests. Warm and friendly and always on hand to provide excellent service.
Absolutely nothing we did not like. It was perfect.
Went here for dinner with my wife on the final night of our honeymoon and had an excellent experience. The views were spectacular and the food delicious. This place is more expensive than many restaurants in PV but well worth it in my opinion. Cannot recommend this place enough whether you want to go out for a romantic outing, a birthday, or even just to treat yourself to a nice meal. Debit/credit cards were also accepted which is nice given how many restaurants in the area seemed to be cash only. I would also like to give a special shout out to our server Raul. He was very friendly and went out of his way to make our experience special from taking a photo for my wife and me, having the mariachi band play a special song for us, and bringing out a dessert to commemorate the occasion. Can't thank him enough and was shocked to learn he was relatively new to their team given how excellent of a job he did. I would have assumed he has been there for years with how polished the experience was. All said 5/5 and whether you're local and have never been, or travelers like us you should add this to your list.
The entire staff at Hacienda San Angel was incredibly attentive throughout our stay, ensuring everything was perfect. It was very pleasant to stay in a spacious, unique room that offered a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean—definitely not your typical cookie-cutter hotel room. But the highlight of our visit was, without a doubt, the food. The menu is incredible, and the world-class chefs delivered meal after meal that was simply exceptional. Every dish I tried was a 10/10. The Chilean sea bass with mashed potatoes and baby carrots was so amazing, I ordered it two nights in a row! For breakfast, I savored the red chilaquiles, accompanied by fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice. And the red snapper fish tacos for lunch? Simply the best I’ve ever had. I can't wait to return!
We have been staying at Hacienda San Angels every year. Will always stay there. Wonderful and Beautiful boutique hotel in the downtown area with fantastic views.
Beautiful grounds, friendly and welcoming staff, spectacular views, great food. Our stay was short but delightful!
The property is beautiful and great. The staff was great, delicious breakfast.
My friends and I randomly booked this place for one night before we headed to Sayulita. We were SO delighted and impressed by this place. It was such a gem! The staff was amazing and the pack of small dogs that work there are so cute. 10/10 would stay again.
Luis was the best! Best food we had in PV! We had the best view from San Miguel Suite
Nice hotel
Gorgeous property well appointed in the downtown area. Convenient to walk everywhere. Great service. Our room San Jose had the best view. We were offered upgrade to another room but we could not let go if the view so got a bottle of wine instead for Expedia VIP. Only negative was the church bell so close but I tend it out.
Amazing property with amazing rooms! Staff was Amazing we stayed for only one night but we will be sure to come back to this amazing place!
More Food Options but everything was amazing
This property was extraordinarily! From service, to food, to the beautiful art and architecture - it was all wonderful!
Amazing! We absolutely loved our stay!
Beautiful historical hotel with amazing architecture and art. Beautiful rooms with incredible views, excellent restaurant and service. Will definitely return!
My new favorite luxury hotel in Puerto Vallarta. Service was above and beyond. There was attention to every detail. I can’t wait for my next visit.
The most charming and well appointed boutique hotel I’ve ever stayed in! The staff, especially Luis who brought us breakfast every morning, were amazing. Every little detail is tended to here. Every view, every plant, every statue and fountain and piece of art. My favorite ever.
We attempted to increase our reservation from 4 to 6 people on a Monday night. Yes, it was the last night of restaurant week, but the restaurant was still not full upon arrival. I first told there was not space available as guests with reservations at 7PM, our time as well, usually stay until 11PM. That was definitely not the case. I have been home since 9:30 PM and we were one of the last tables to depart the restaurant. I got a call back saying there was space for 6, but for every person that was a no show, there would a $35 USD cancellation fee. That is outrageous! This is low season, not Christmas/New Years week. Our waiter requested we pay cash pesos for the tip and we obliged. He then proceeded to count the tip at the table in front of us. Would he have complained if it was not to his liking? It's very unfortunate as the food and abienance were terrific, but the operational management of the restaurant was a disaster. This was my first visit and I am sad to say I will not return. There are too many great restaurants in PV that actually appreciate the customers that will keep me from returning. Get a clue and DO BETTER!
Beautiful property with attentive staff
The best experience I have had in a long time. Every aspect of the experience is top notch. They know what they’re doing. It’s one of the best experiences you’ll ever have. I highly recommend it. You feel totally comfortable from the moment you enter and until you depart.
Incredible property! Like a magical garden. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic stay, then this is your oasis. A boutique hotel with only 10 rooms, we sometimes felt like the only two guests on the property. There are hidden terraces and quiet reading corners, exquisite artwork and water features, and the rooms are unique and comfortable. But the service trumps it all; the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home, they never miss a beat. A special thank you to Luiz and Norma for their kindness and hospitality! The property has an amazing gourmet restaurant, and the Italian place across the road is breathtaking. The area is a steep walk to the Malecón, but the 3 blocks through decorated gardens are an absolute delight, and they're lined with unique shops and quaint little restaurants. Safe and well lit after dark. 5 stars all around. Bring your partner here, you will not regret it!
There was no shampoo or conditioner refill and no shower cap or cotton balls. Little stuff that usually is provided
What a wonderful experience! My son took me to Hacienda San Angel for my birthday and it was one of the best dinners I've ever had. The hacienda is absolutely beautiful and the views from the restaurant are lovely. The Mariachi Band was one of the best I've ever heard and I have travelled extensively in Mexico. I actually lived for a time in Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City. As for the food it was gorgeous! It was beautifully presented and the taste did not disappoint. Also, kudos out to the service team. They were perfect, not overbearing but always there when we wanted or needed something. This is a restaurant not to be missed if you go to Puerto Vallarta.
This was a true treat to once again dine at Hacienda San Angel. We were here with our dear friends. You can’t even imagine from the street that paradise awaits you on the other side of these grand wood doors. This is a Mexican house that offers hotel rooms and an out of this world dining experience including a superb mariachi band where everyone participates in the singing. The service and food are exquisite and the view of Puerto Vallarta is incomparable. Put this on your list as a highlight of your stay! Btw, a brand new elevator was available and railings for steps were accessible.
Wonderful oasis tucked into the Romantic Zone/Old Town area. Food is amazing for breakfast and dinner. Service is amazing also. A couple of issues with the door to my room and the toilet flushing that were addressed when brought to their attention. Charming and historical feel with lots of art pieces and beautiful grounds.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations and directions.
All good
The most peaceful, quaint and historical hotel in Puerto Vallarta. Impeccable service, food and great views.
Peace of heaven on earth ❤️ So incredibly quaint and excellent location in zona romantica.
This small hotel is a combination of separate houses into a seamless and beautiful location. There are three pools and lots of places to sit and relax. The food is absolutely delicious and we enjoyed our continental breakfast on our terrace each morning. We had dinner in the hotel’s restaurant, which is highly recommended for good reason - we had one of the best meals we’ve ever had in their restaurant. Thank you Luis for making our stay memorable.
