Grassington Lodge

Great location and parking. Nice touch was granola, milk & yoghurt in room for breakfast, also orange juice in fridge

Nothing

Ideal location for exploring the area and visiting the countryside. The staff wee friendly. Parking on site was a available at all times and the room was kept clean and tidy

N/A

Had a lovely time, hotel and location was perfect, central for everything and good value

The only thing, was the room was hot and in heat wave and having to leave fan on all night disturbed my sleep

Alles war bestens, insbesondere Parkplatz, Frühstückskörbchen und Zimmerausstattung.

It was within walking distance of the village

Difficultly in getting in. No door code given. No staff on site. Not particularly clean. There’s no light above the mirror and you couldn’t have a shave in the shower room. Car park is a bit tight.

Excellent location in the centre of Grassington. Really good range of breakfast options provided in the room

Complicated check in. We were also surprised that we didn’t have an en suite bathroom as this was not clear

Beautiful little town Grassington with some nice shops, restaurants and surroundings. Gorgeous countryside house.

lovely weekend in very special Grassington.

nothing not to like

The location was great, in the centre of the village. The room was large and bright.

There wasn’t any staff on sight. There was an ironing board in the room but no iron and nobody to ask. The cleaning staff we met briefly and they were very welcoming.

Everything fabulous

Centrale ligging, parkeerplaats, servies beschikbaar voor eigen eten

Verouderde kamer en sanitair

My first double room had a separate shower room. I was on my own. This was rearranged by a very helpful member of staff.

Great location and staff, decent price.

Lots of noise from room above!

Location. Cleanliness. Value for money. Breakfast offering in the room was substantial. Able to stay with our dogs

Nothing

This accommodation was central in Grassington which is why we booked it

The property isn’t a hotel as advertised. It is self entry rooms, our key pad code didn’t work on arrival, together with other guests who arrived at the same time. The room was very basic and the corridors were very drab. We stayed in room 11 and the floor above us was very creaky floorboards. Guests above us arrived at 1am and were banging about all night. Not ideal. The lounge was very dated. If you are booking don’t relay on the previous owners stars to use as a guide to what you will get. Very disappointed

Great location& good parking

No tea bags just coffee

Great location the room was wonderful wonderful great bed and modernized house which is really unusual for the area.

We had problems when we got there to check in because nobody sent us any codes to get onto the property& it was late evening and there was no one there. Someone finally let us in who was staying there. And after trying to call people on the ring camera finally somebody helped us. That was about 30 minutes There were supposed to be envelopes left with which room we were in that didn’t happen & the after hours number we weren’t able to call and have it go through with a phone number from the states. So other than that, the place was great, but check-in was difficult.

The location is brilliant and free on site parking. Free cereal breakfast in your room. Fridge and fan in the room. Bedding was clean.

The water was pumped so very noisy. The toilet was very noisy. The sink was tiny. The rooms need a refresh. The wardrobe was too small for more than a couple of nights.

Location. Very friendly house keeper.

The pillows 😒 really let the whole experience down. Extremely flat and hard. Also, the door to the room was incredibly hard to pull open due to the sprung hinge being too tight. Would definitely be difficult for more frail people.

We were pleasantly surprised to find orange juice, milk and yoghurt in the fridge. A hamper with cereal, biscuits and a fudge bar. The bed was comfortable although the duvet a bit too warm, room was tidy. The ensuite was good .

You can't beat the personal touch, being met and shown to your room.

Location, facilities and peaceful

The location is excellent. Breakfast foods and drinks were also provided.

Room was a little small but good enough for a short stay.

Hervorragende Lage, ruhig, aber zentrumsnah, perfekt eingerichtet, Kühlschrank mit Getränken und Lebensmitteln

Für die Größe des Zimmers und angesichts des fehlenden Frühstücksservices zu teuer.

I absolutely love Grassington. The lodge is very close to the village centre, and there are lots of lovely shops pubs and restaurants in the village, including unusual, quaint, crafty type shops that you might not expect. I couldn’t find anywhere to buy an ordinance survey map although I did buy a couple of walking guide books for the area. Perhaps I should’ve got one in Harrogate before I arrived…

There had been a bit of a mixup over which room/which building I was staying in, but once this was sorted out after several phone , everything was fine The shower housing was broken, meaning that the shower itself did not stay up high enough in position – that was annoying

Small but clean room. Crockery provided for takeaway etc

Listing didn’t really make it clear the bathroom was down the corridor from the bedroom.

Location, room, facilities in room, parking

The staff i dealt with prior to visiting the property, the staff on site and the location were all brilliant :)

Nothing

Comfortable accommodation.

Available parking is limited.

Great location. Lovely bed linen & towels

Interior a little shabby, needs refreshing. Rooms (3 booked) not as requested (double beds not singles) so unsuitable for our party. No on sight staff so they were unable/unwilling to rectify. Before we arrived another customer requested a room change which they facilitated by giving them one of our allocated rooms (only notified us after they had agreed). As a result we were left with a small double bed in 1 of the rooms. To make matters worse they denied I had requested twin beds even though I have email confirming the request. No apology. I will pursue the matter. Total shambles, poor customer service!!

Consistent good standards

Large bathroom, plenty of room.

Requested room be cleaned after first morning, but only glasses were washed. We expected clean towels, made bed, cleaned bathroom and fresh biscuits and tea. Also room out dated and bed a bit old with an adjoining zip.

Great location but the parking was tight. Room in the end was good.

The room booked had a separate bathroom which I was not happy with and asked to be changed. If you have to get up in the night this is not ideal and if you didn’t have both keys potentially would be locked out as there was no reception. The room in the eves was very hit and the Louvre windows were filthy dirty!!Also noticed there was parking on site one day when I got back there were vans parked in some of the spaces and obviously not residence. As a consequence I had to make sure I was parked up earlier in the day otherwise I would have had to pay for parking at a location further down the road. You should make sure that the people who have booked to stay always have a parking space and get there ahead of booking.

Great location and pretty room clear information given for arrival

Nothing

Easy to access, code for the door sent out before arrival then keys left for collection upon arrival in the lounge. Comfortable, clean and fit for purpose. Will visit again.

Great location.

Few issues getting into property caused by our late booking.

The location was convenient

There was no reception or staff and the room was very ordinary

Room was nice and cosy. Private bathroom down the hallway but not ensuite - was not aware of this before we arrived. Hot chocolate, tea and coffee provided which was nice.

I was not sent any instructions for how to get in and there was no one at the property. We were stuck outside until another resident who had been there the previous night turned up and showed us how to get in and gave us the code.

Lovely old building, very close to the town !!

Bit old school but would prefer a human touch when checking in ? Room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was very small and sink was tiny !! Not to criticise too much though cos we loved it !!

The location was excellent. The room was clean and tidy

The shower is a small cubicle, but old fashioned.

Location size of the room and the seating area outside

Nothing

It's comfortable and close to all the amenities

Nothing

The bedroom was clean and well presented

The welcome was highly unsatisfactory Dispute having agreed by email an early entry time of 2 pm I was told at the door that entry was being refused until 4 pm unless an additional £10 was paid !?!?

The location was good. The room was clean spacious and comfortable.

On arrival had not received email telling us room number had to make contact and leave message on answer phone and wait for reply.

Comfortable, clean & cosy

In centre of town, and cafes etc

No shower gel or soap no mik

Location

Better coffee facilties and cleaner rooms

Location is fine

No shampoo or soap provided in one of the rooms, and the ceiling started leaking water in two places on the morning we left. One of the rooms was overheated and noisy. No instructions on how to get into the property so we had to call a number and then be given a code. It is hotel prices with low budget airbnb quality. Do not visit.

Clean tidy, parking, and very close to the grassington centre.

Nil

We were upgraded to an en suite room because we were walking the Lady Anne's Way out of the owner's own generosity and kindness. The room was very clean, lots of shampoo, body wash etc, lots of sockets for charging and a great location for us in the centre of town.

no staff on site, bad communication left on street unable to get in for over 45 mins. got code for door entry 2 hours after check in time very poor

Had a awesome time, saff was absolutely awesome

Massive comfortable bed

In the middle of a heat wave and could have done with a fan

Location was the only plus point for us, literally a 2 minute walk to centre of the village

No staff on site, given key code to enter building but no instructions on how keypad actually worked. Luckily another guest explained how to get the keypad display to show, and also where we would find our room number and key!! Although generally clean enough, everywhere was extremely shabby. Our room had no en-suite we had to go across the landing to find our bathroom. Again, no instructions with the keys to tell us this.

Our second time here, perfect as we have 2 dogs. Out of the way of the busy street but 2 mins walk to it. Love Grassington, love the Lodge, we'll be back again in the autumn..

Nothing

Location, parking, clean and comfortable

Nothing

Location Helpful staff Big bath Bed Faculties

Nothing

Location was great; room was compact but well equipped (fridge not mentioned, but v useful); nice to have a downstairs lounge if needed

Getting in was harder than it needed to be - why not send instructions beforehand?

It was just lovely & peaceful.

Location, cleanliness & the room was amazing

The location was good

No staff onsite, very pricey for a small room and no breakfast

Great location and on site parking

Very difficult to access the property. Not clear whatsoever. No-one answered the ring door bell. Finally managed to get through to someone on the phone for instructions. Stayed in the “luxury suite”. Probably better just being called the suite. Some of the walls were marked, carpet upstairs stained in places. Disappointed that it lacked “luxury” and a bit of love and attention. Tiny sofa. Made it uncomfortable to sit and watch tv after a long walk. Was ok for one night.

Good Location.

Another 'hotel' that is not a hotel. Self check in, no contact with any staff. During my stay another guest had locked her key in her bedroom, and tried to contact the 'hotel number'10 times without success

Clean, great location and had everything you needed for a great price l. Also they gave my son a lovely little cuddly toy which was very kind of them and he loves it. Made him feel very special.

Was a little difficult accessing the property trying to work out the key pad but once you did manage to then it wasn’t a problem.

Brilliant location right on the edge of the village. Several high quality pubs / restaurants within a few minutes walk. Nice period house - looks like it was once possibly a police station?

Our room was pretty tired decor-wise. The dash window couldn’t be locked, and there were dogs very nearby that started barking just after the crack of dawn (5:30). I love dogs but not making a racket right outside the window at that early hour thanks.

Location , cleanliness, nice room, was hot sleeping in the eves, but given the external heat at the time, this was probably unavoidable. There were a couple of fans provided.

The cost. I feel that £351 for 2 double rooms for a single night (with no breakfast) is excessive.

Location to the village

Location spot on. Lovely room. Bonus had a fridge, good parking.

Nothing

Great location. Very clean and a comfortable stay.

Central location

Nice friendly stuff

The location was excellent, just a couple of minutes from the centre of Grassington. The room had a lovely view and was comfortable and clean with a fridge and bottled water.

We visited during the recent heatwave so the room was extremely hot but no fan provided. It was also unmanned with just a code for entry emailed in advance...however there were no instructions on how to use the code.

Very good location, less than 5 mins walk to village square.

We were allocated to room 6 which had a separate bathroom. This was not made clear to us at time of booking. Had it have been we would not have booked. This became a big problem for us on Sunday evening when we inadvertently locked our keys in the bathroom, leaving us unable to access the bathroom. No one answered the phone number given on Sunday night, 21.20 ish.

Light, airy, spacious room. Good sized bathroom

Nothing

The location was excellent.

We were located on the top floor so wanted to open the velux window to let the heat out. We soon closed it as there was dust and dirt all around the window and surround. Not good.

The location. The comfortable room and facilities provided. We were able to store our bikes securely overnight.

Poor communication on the location of our room and how to gain access. No interaction with staff in person. Information gained by ringing a number. Complicated and often unresponsive hand activated key pad.

Fantastic place and fantastic location

Nothing it was ace

No breakfast. Location good the town.

Ludicrous access to the house. No instructions arrived as to how to use the texted code on the door pad to get in. No instructions as to where the room keys were once inside. Had to make 2 phone calls. Not welcoming in any way. Poor service and disappointing. Owners clearly not taking this business seriously as similar comments in the guest book from last month.

We loved the stone annex and we took the two rooms within it. Very clean and the location was fantastic.

Nothing we loved it

I enjoyed staying in the room and very clean. Sleep well.

None

My room was very nice and attractive but did have an odd bathroom layout with a very tiny sink more typical of what you would see in a small camper van, likely due to this being an update to an historic building. Very good location less than a 5 minute walk to the center of town. It has several steps up and down and would not be suitable for anyone with mobility or walking limitations.

I was very disappointed with the service I received. This is an unattended facility with no receptionist present, and they were supposed to send an email with the key code and instructions on how to access my room, but they never sent me this email. I had found out about this required email a couple weeks before arrival but only after making my reservation. I had messaged the lodge using the Booking.com app asking them about checking in as I knew these small lodges don’t usually have 24 reception and I wanted to arrive when they were open. They replied that the lodge had no receptionist and that they would send an email with details on how to access my room. A couple days prior to my arrival I had not received this email and so I again messaged the lodge through the Booking.com app telling them I didn’t get the email. They replied that I would get the email the day of my arrival. I arrived in Grassington about 2 pm (14:00 hours) on a Saturday and checked my email on my phone, and still no email from the lodge. Also checked the Booking.com site and no message there. There was no information posted in the lobby of the building as to what I should do. I called the management using the contact number on the booking.com site but all I got was a recording that their office was closed for the weekend, initially leaving me thinking I had been scammed and that I needed to walk across the street to the local police station to file a police report. Fortunately I went back and reread their first message to me, and it included a phone number that could be called on weekends. I was able to get through on this number and was told that the email would not be sent until 4 pm as this was their check in time. This 4 pm check in was news to me, but I went for a long walk around the area getting back to the lodge at about 5 pm. Still no email. I was able to get through on the phone again and their representative blamed booking.

Convenient location and comfortable room.

Initial access to the building. It differed from email, which said use Ring doorbell - there is a new digital entry pad, but no instruction how to use it. Also as the place is unmanned we were disturbed by other loud guests after midnight, and some even blowing a trumpet as they entered!

Location was amazing. Comfy bed. Fridge in room - this is a selling feature, promote it more! Crockery and cutlery available for DIY breakfast / lunch as the property doesn't offer catering. Fine for us. A microwave in the lounge would have given a few more options. Would stay again, but a different room. (See below)

Getting in and finding the keys was a bit of a reverse escape room. All fine once in! A little more detail on using the smart lock and where room keys are left would have been great. Didn't realise at time of booking that private bathroom might be across a public corridor. When text message arrived with room number, noted that the website said bath robes were provided, but we didn't find any in the room so had to get fully dressed for every visit. Didn't think it would be as annoying as it was so if we stayed again, we'd request a different room.

Lovely room. Very clean and comfortable.

There are no staff. It's self check in, which might be ok, if not ideal. However, the text message I received the day before only gave one of the room numbers (I booked two) and front door code. It didn't say that there would be no one there. It didn't say where to find the key. There was no information posted on the front door to explain the procedure. I rang the hotel's phone number that I googled and got a very polite and helpful person at company HQ (it's not an independently owned B&B). We were not the only guests who had this problem during our stay. It made check in unnecessarily stressful and frustrating. Once inside, everything was spot on. It just needs a human on site.

Location

Good location with parking.

Room was not as described, it said bathroom with bath and shower but it only had a shower and a very small sink. Pillows and duvet of very poor quality and dirty, no pillow protectors. Carpet was stained and you couldn’t open blinds/ window as room was on ground floor and faces carpark.

Location, parking, comfortable

Room size only just adequate. Soundproofing not great.

Ideally situated for village access

Very clean and secure. Plenty of parking spaces on site

The room was very clean and quiet. Car park.

Location excellent

Located close to shops in a pretty village Nice room Functioning shower

Paid for a twin, got a double and no refund forthcoming Horrible hard bed No fridge

great location and lovely views from the window in our room

the check in time was an hour later than the standard and the shower was quite small

The lodge is well located for going into Grassington, the room was nice, spacious etc.

The instructions for how to get in the main door could have been clearer.

Excellent location for the short walk into the centre of Grassington. A fridge in the room was a very good bonus Lovely en-suite shower room and plenty of space in the room

A bit tricky to open the front door. With no staff on site I got lucky that someone was coming out as I was trying to get in.

Grassington its self

The room i booked and paid for was horrendous. Will not be stopping at this place again

Very close to the centre, good value for money & free parking

All good, just wasn’t so keen on climbing all the stairs to the top floor

Convenient, Ok facilities, Good parking

Total failure to provide access information. Information requested through Booking e-mail twice in 24 hours prior to arrival, Nd only achieved after much effort, also from others in the same situation standing outside the property. We travelled 280 miles not knowing whether we would be able to get into the property. We were already advised that no personnel are available at the property. Not the first time this happened with Booking. No possibility to access support from Booking, and owner just ignored contact until well after our arrival.

位置好，能停车，暖气非常棒

Clean

Check-in was pain in the ass, person on phone was having a party noise so loud hard to understand her

Location very good.

No staff there. Another guest had to let us in and show us where the key was. We had no en suite and the bathroom was along the hall.

They did manage to get us a ground floor room though there was a big step up to the bedroom & down to the bathroom & the bed was smaller than we'd requested.

Very impersonal. Was spoken to via speaker phone Bed very springy. No breakfast. Parking very limited - there were 12 rooms & it seemed nobody took the car out once they'd got a spot
