Good location
I must have been staying in a room that was directly above the kitchen because I good hear an extractor fan all throughout the night and couldn't sleep as a consequence. The food was not good - I had to feedback to the staff that I could taste the residue of the schezhuan peppers from the previous evening's cooking in my French toast at breakfast, therefore a question over the cleanliness of their kitchen. That aside the breakfast was very basic.

Location and restaurant were excellent
Very noisy room above kitchen, noisy from 7.30 am until 9.pm not a room to relax in
Position , the staff were amazing.
Thought I booked a large double room but the bed was small.
Enjoyed our stay, breakfast was good quality and fresh produce, served by excellent staff. Evening meal was tasty and good value. Our room was pleasant with a view over the charming rooftops, with everything needed catered for. The little extras were a nice touch.
Nice and clean
NO PARKING
The events and opportunities to get engaged was very cool and we did enjoy that. Nice atmosphere
Difficult to check out before 8am as there is no staff then
Loved the location, layout of the hotel, staff and the food was great value too. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again.
The only thing missing was a chair in the bedroom, my husband has mobility issues and finds a chair much easier to sit on than a bed.
Excellent place to stay in centre of village.Staff helpful and friendly.
Restaurant capacity appeared limited
Classic pub/Hotel right in the middle of this gorgeous village.
Breakfast was beautiful and we ate in the restaurant the previous evening - excellent food & service
Nothing to report
Room which was delightfully cool in very hot weather, guest fridge, outdoor seating. Staff offering a picnic alternative as the breakfast was too late for the early start needed for walking in exceptional heat. Location in the attractive small town of Grassington.
Our meal was disappointing - portions were generous but the pie was overcooked and the fried chicken charred and oily. To be fair the meal coincided with the recent eclipse which may have confused matters.
Ottima posizione, albergo con un bel ristorante al piano terra. Ottima colazione.
Peccato per la camera che dava sul retro del locale a un prezzo che poteva essere più contenuto.
Great location Lovely staff. Great food and drink.
The price. Far too expensive. Room very very basic with no character.
Staff, food, beer, location
A tad expensive
A wonderful hotel with excellent food. We really enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. The room was comfortable and well kept. It was on the small side, but when you come to Grassington, you’re unlikely to spend much time in your room anyway. For a place to come back to after a day of hiking and get a good night’s sleep, it was absolutely perfect.
Staff is incredibly friendly, rooms are spottless, comfy beds, delicious breakfast. I'll be back!
Great location. Excellent food. Very friendly staff
Everything went well - the room was good We had dinner in the restaurant and this was lovely food and wine Breakfast was excellent

The breakfast was prepared with care and the choice and food quality was great. We also dined in the restaurant for an evening meal and the food again was excellently prepared. The service was first class!
We could not have wished for more.
We felt very at home and enjoyed the lovely ambiance and friendly staff. The breakfasts were beyond our expectations and delicious. The beds were very comfy and the room cozy.
It was quite hot and we missed having air conditioning.
Really nice hotel in the perfect location . Everything about our stay was superb.
Location good, staff helpful, room good. View was of rooftops but that’s to be expected in Grassington . Hotel served our purpose well
Breakfast ordering was not clear to us so we did have an unexpectedly large meal one day, but that was all
Great location
The food was not up to the same standard as my previous visit
Good location in the heart of Grassington. Good evening menu, nice food.
Our room, number 8, was very noisy because of being over the kitchen and a loud extractor fan came on at 7.30am and stayed on all day, sometimes until 10.30 pm.
The location
No parking and weak tea
Breakfast excellent, staff friendly and knowledgable
The staff were very good, very friendly and helpful
I would have preferred a larger bed. We will book a bigger room next time
Food and room very good. Staff very obliging
No complaints
We loved the situation right in the centre of the village, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was surprisingly quiet considering the music in the bar downstairs , the food was delicious
It rained a bit
Location in the village was ideal for restaurants and bars
No dislikes
The hotel was spot on right in the centre of the village staff was very good can't really complain 👏 👌
The weather
Location, staff, cleanliness. Food and service was amazing.
Great location in this beautiful village. Check in was quick. The room was clean but dark, however this is an old building with small windows so not unexpected. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows and there were sufficient sachets of coffee etc. The shower was superb, great pressure and hot. The hand basin was difficult to use as the shelf was directly above it, maybe move it.
Breakfast was a big disappointment. We were asked to complete our choice the night before which we assumed meant our order would be freshly prepared. The full English had been kept heated for ages, it certainly wasn’t freshly prepared. My wife left the bacon as it was like leather and poached eggs should be runny not hard boiled. This was the worse breakfast of our entire trip, topped off by a measly half slice of black pudding. Shame as the hotel itself was great.
Great location, room, food, friendly helpful staff, good choice good food and drink & ambiance
Ambience Excellent breakfast Even better menu selection for evening meals Fine choice of ales The community of Grassington Wharfedale itself This was our third visit to the Black Horse Hotel
Cramped bedroom and small double bed
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the food was brilliant. I will always stay now at the black horse when I am visiting Grassington
Nothing
Worth a visit ,a great place to stay wonderful
Nothing and leaving
Location, staff and cleanliness
The beds are terrible. Far too hard resulting in little or no sleep. It spoils the stay
Great location, lovely room and friendly staff. All in all a very nice establishment.
The breakfast pre-order form. Waste of time listing your choices if some are missing off your plate the following morning. Stayed in a few establishments offering this and none of them have given me what I asked for!
Absolutely amazing food and lots of it. All the staff we encountered were really lovely and couldn't do enough for us
Nothing to dislike - apart from my portion of smoked salmon cheesecake vanishing quickly
Lovely hotel with a great restaurant and bar in-site. Clean and comfortable rooms and lovely staff. Perfect location to explore the area. Very dog-friendly.

Breakfast and dinner great - really quiet room right in the middle of grassington . Terrace was lovely after days walking
The hotel is in a great location. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent with a great varied menu and well presented. Nothing was too much trouble ad would definitely recommend to others.

Everything was lovely
Staff were friendly and helpful food excellent go back there again
Nothing to dislike
Staff were so friendly and helpful Rooms were spotless. Beds very comfortable Breakfast was tasty Excellent value for money and I would definitely recommend
I'd rather not have to pick my breakfast the night before - just my personal preference
Great location although no parking available, reasonably priced parking available in the national park car park about 10mins walk. Rooms were basic but did the job. Breakfast was good with decent variety.
Mattresses were far too soft they became uncomfortable after a few nights.
Hotel was beautifully clean staff were excellent the whole experience was worth evert penny.
There was nothing to dislike.
It is a great place to explore Yorkshire with lots of walks nearby. The pub and restaurant were very nice!
Great location, lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Breakfast is delicious. This is the third time we have stayed there and will be back again next year!
We were not overly impressed with our evening meal in the restaurant.
Excellent location, clean comfortable room and friendly staff
Room a bit small
Dejlig beliggenhed Dejlig personale
Sengen (dobbelt) var temmelig smal
Lovely location and old world charm

Lovely hotel. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Great food. Would highly recommend
Rooms and facilities in general are really clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast - its a pre order system which is ok but if you want to make any slight tweaks on the day then it isn't really accommodated. Choice and variety for breakfast is great. Dinner - variety and choices for veggies are great. Only thing that I think would be good to add to to the menu is a standard plant based burger. Quiz night on Wednesday and Live music on Friday were treats :)
The only issue we found is that the service in the restaurant (whether its breakfast or dinner) is so slow. you can be waiting for a while between courses. Staff were over run serving both the bar and restaurant.
Great location , great breakfast, great dinner, rooms clean and roomy
Parking was a pain,
Very comfortable bed, slept really well. Excellent breakfast and service. Food in the restaurant was very nice. Set in an idyllic location. Fabulous walks.
Excellent location, comfortable rooms and very friendly staff
Friendly atmosphere in the heart of Grassington
Lovely rooms and friendly staff.
We were all disappointed with our food served in the restaurant which was a real shame. The staff were very helpful and understanding though.
Everything
Parking is free in the village square but limited and a short walk with luggage to the hotel. OK if you are young & fit.
Super friendly staff. Room was small but everything was nicely done. There was live (folk) music in the bar on the night we were there so we enjoyed a singalong.
All good

Location good,good breakfast.
Nothing.
Clean , nice atmosphere . The staff were mainly helpful. The food we had in the evening was very good . The breakfast was ok, however the method for ordering was not very clear . The open fire is always welcoming on a cooler day .
We had lunch . I had a fish sandwich. I was told it was fish gougons, it was one large piece of cod between bread . I could not eat the batter as it was very soggy and spongey. Slight oderous smell on the landing . Possibly due to being an old building .
Everything was good. Staff all pleasant. Food very good

Location with friendly, welcoming staff, excellent service and good value for money.
Lovely inn just off the square. Great to stay in an inn with fire warm pub, breakfast and evening dining room. Felt part of the community here. Very popular with evening events and a pub quiz during our stay. Chip shop next door where you eat outside the hotel. National Park 5mins walk with reliable bus service. Very good staff with lots of support, knowledge of the area and attentive.
Just because my mother has difficulty walking there is no lift but we managed as was given a 1st floor room.
Convenient to town centre
Lack of parking
Perfect location, beautiful and clean room, lovely pub and restaurant, incredibly welcoming staff and the most dog friendly place you could ask for, and the gifts in the room were a very nice touch!
The food was average. Definitely just reheated and not fresh. Huge area for improvement with the food.
The hotel was located in a perfect spot. Staff were brilliant! Very welcoming, smiley, happy to help and the hotel was spotless they were always cleaning and keeping on top of it whilst we were there. Room was really comfortable and loved the extra touches of the coffee machine, and the complimentary drinks and snacks. Very good value for money. Very quick with breakfast as soon as you walk in the staff are straight onto getting your breakfast for you. Any information we asked for they were so helpful. Definitely will be back here again 😁
I am a massive eggs benedict fan, I was slightly disappointed I didn't like the muffin it came with and it wasn't buttered or Toasted, It would have been better on normal bread and the hollandaise sauce was not homemade. The eggs was spot on though it's just the rest didn't compliment it enough it needed more flavour. Apart from that everything was perfect 😊
The food in the restaurant was beautiful, the chicken pie was amazing along with the homemade soup.
The bathroom, was cold no heating in bathroom of room 4 or any working extractor fan. So the bedroom felt damp after showering. The breakfast selection was great, cereals warm croissants. The cooked breakfast wasn’t to my taste. The poached eggs were hard not runny. The hash browns wasn’t cooked long enough. Overall could have been a bit warmer sausage was of good quality.
Beautiful location. The room and staff were lovely. We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast.
Nothing.
Very close to the village . Clean fantastic food !
The bar closed at 10-20 unfortunately would have liked a quick drink before retiring but the lady behind the bar said she had shut the pumps off . Felt a little rushed .
Breakfast excellent Very friendly staff Fantastic choice of real ale
Great location. We were lucky to get on the nearest car park which was free and very close by.
Corridors were tired and ready for decoration.
The Black Horse was exceptional, we loved our stay, staff were lovely. I can not fault this place.
No on site parking, however, there is parking close by, one paid and the other (top of Grassington), has a honesty box, not a bad size but get in early.
The room was clean.
The bed was uncomfortable
