The Thompson Hotel

Die Lage ist super downtown - das Hotel verfügt über einen großen kostenfreien Parkplatz, das Zimmer war riesig und bestand aus zwei nebeneinander liegenden Bereichen, mit einem Doppel- und zwei Einzelbetten mit sehr gutem Matratzen. Jeder Bereich mit eigenem TV. Das Bad war gut beleuchtet, im Zimmer gab es ausreichend Platz für die Kleidung. Alles blitzsauber! Es gibt einen großen Pool zum Schwimmen und einen Spielbereich mit Billardtisch und verschiedenen Spielautomaten. Es gibt ein Frühstücks-Kaffee haben wir aber nicht genutzt. Empfehlenswertes Hotel!

La ubicación del hotel es bien céntrica, justo en el centro de la ciudad con todos los restaurantes alrededor. Nos encanto la piscina y jacuzzi del hotel asi como los juegos para niños. La habitación es un poco pequeña, pero cuenta con todo lo que necesitas.

El hotel está en proceso de remodelación; se pueden observar zonas que necesitan mejoras o que aún no están terminadas. El precio que pagamos no incluye el desayuno. Es el único hotel que reservamos del viaje que no incluye, lo cual nos pareció raro, pero no fue un problema grande, ya que afuera había muchos restaurantes.

Schönes, modernes Hotel, welches wir für einen Zwischenstopp (1 Nacht) auf unserer Rundreise durch Kanada genutzt haben. Das Frühstücksrestaurant war sehr gut.

What an amazing job you guys have done with this place. Perfect gem in the heart of Kamloops.

The hotel was conveniently located to downtown restaurants and we had an excellent dinner at The Noble Pig located in the same block! My choice of this property was further validated when I discovered passengers from the Rocky Mountaineer Train were staying the same night!

The parking lot was a bit confusing and given the more urban nature of the property, I made sure to be more conscious about leaving items in the car. While I checking out, I heard another guest explain he had parked his oversized vehicle in the other half of the lot based on poor directions by the desk staff when he arrived and was charged a much higher fee by the other lot operation. The hotel staff indicated they were unable to intervene, so pay close attention when parking!

Good location, nice facilities, clean room.

They put us in a room next to the lifts. The lift foyer was tiled with heavy stone and the grout lines were wide. That meant whenever one of the staff came by with a luggage trolley the wall to our room shook and the noise was like a freight train… it was sooo noisy. It spoilt what might have otherwise been as nice stay!

Simple room for a reasonable price.

You get what you pay for. Shower curtain, tiny bathroom, and generally tired room.

La struttura si trovava in un ottimo punto per il nostro viaggio. La reception aperta 24/24 ci ha permesso di arrivare in tarda serata e avere comunque a disposizione lo staff per le eventuali domande. La camera era pulita e molto spaziosa.

The staff and facilities were great! Liked how close it was to two amazing restaurants, and the room was very clean and comfortable.

I'm never a fan of having to pay for parking at a hotel, and wish it was included in the price.

Wir waren nur auf der Durchreise hier, dafür war das Hotel perfekt. Angenehm war auch das Schwimmbad (sofern es nicht gerade von lärmenden Kindern bevölkert wurde). Praktisch war auch, dass gutes, preiswertes Frühstück angeboten wurde. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Kostenlose Parkplätze gab es hinter dem Hotel.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, daher ist die Lage natürlich nicht die schönste. Die Aussicht ist entweder auf die Straße oder auf den Parkplatz, aber das ist für ein. Hotel, das für eine Durchreise gedacht ist, nicht unbedingt wichtig

Very nice staff. Hotel itself is fine but far from great, honestly. Budget friendly, I guess.

Good room with kitchenette. Comfortable beds. Pool and hot tub. We enjoyed the bar and restaurant.

Couldn’t get the TV to work even with advice. Towels for the pool were far too small for adults. Breakfast although tasty, was very basic.

Hotel at good and quite central location, nice and clean rooms, staff was friendly, kids liked the swimming pool, breakfast at hotel was good, we had two rooms next to each other with a door in between, which is convenient for a family

Thompson is always a good option - the price is always a little less than it's competitors yet it's always equally as clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff are always incredibly friendly. I have stayed at the Thompson many times as I live in a neighbouring city and while I prefer the Coast or even Holiday Inn their prices have nearly doubled and while the pillows aren't quite as good in every other way the Thompson is a very reasonable alternative.

It is located in the older downtown area which can feel a little more sketchy later in the evening if you are bothered by that sort of thing but the hotel itself is very safe and secure. The parking is also unsecured and open - I'm unsure if it's monitored by security, it may be. Pretty much every hotel in Kamloops has open parking lot style parking; including one of the Coast hotels which is also located in the downtown area on the opposite side of town.

Het was buiten erg lawaaiig ‘s avonds. Onze kamer lag boven een terras, waar mensen tot laat bleven hangen.

We were returning from a trip to the Gulf Islands and came back to extreme smoke and heat. Our house was hot and stuffy because we had been away with the air conditioning turned off. The Thompson took us in at short notice. Our room, thanks to the air conditioning, was pleasantly cool and smoke-free. The staff were helpful and friendly. When we wanted to cancel a second night, we were able to do so without any difficulty.

If you like noise: the sound of metal clinging in the clothes dryers, housekeepers gathering outside your room, exit door outside your room… if you enjoy a tiny bathroom- one person at a time…if you enjoy early sun because the blackout shades partially cover the window or if you want an entry to the room that is larger than the bathroom and no mirror above desk… also no free water… too bad as staff was delightful…

Wir hatten direkte Sicht auf das Dach des Restaurants., und das auch nur halb weil die Fenster in dem Zimmer winzig waren. Wenn man schon einem zahlenden Gast zumutet hier mit der Aussicht zu übernachten sollte man dort zumindest mal andenken das Dach zu reinigen und die Lüftungen höher als das Hotel machen oder so damit kein Restaurant Gestank in die Zimmer zieht wenn man das Fenster aufmacht. Der Pool sollte mal gereinigt werden.

This hotel surpassed our expectations. Plenty of parking, easy to find, huge room with a super comfortable bed and very clean. Great facilities - couldn't have asked for more for the price point.

Basic kamer,vriendelijk personeel. Beneden zit een een leuke gezellige bar waar je prima kan eten. Wij waren op doorreis en hebben hier 1 nacht geslapen en dat was prima.

Onduidelijkheid kosten ontbijt, er werd continu gezegd vriendelijk geprijsd maar werd niet duidelijk wat vriendelijk was😅 Dus uiteindelijk maar elders wat gehaald. Borg vind ik vreemd maar doen meer hotels in de VS en Canada.

The room was right above a bar, it was very noisy at night. Provided that we were travelling with kids, I didnt expect we would be arranged to a room so close to the bar. All of us had a bad sleep due to the noise.

Check in was straightforward, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean with comfortable beds. It was convenient for walking to a good selection of restaurants. It suited our needs perfectly. Good value.

The car park was a public car park, we had to pay to park and it was small and busy. Far too small.l for some of the huge pick-ups that so many BC residents love. They overhang the spaces by several feet and then cannot get out. (We were OK) .

Very clean and elegant hotel along Kamloops main strip, although a bit on the farther end. Rooms, hallways, common areas in excellent condition, and staff were helpful and kind. A/C has great feature "constant fan" that acts as white noise to drown out trains on the nearby railway track.

Close to the railway tracks, and could be noisy at night when a train passes through.

Good comfortable beds. Room was very clean and having a lift helped with luggage and access to the 3rd floor. Breakfast wss very good and was very reasonably priced. Indoor pool was very clean and was open long hours.

Alles sehr sauber und das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Es gibt einen indoor Pool und einen Bereich mit Billard, Flipper und anderen Geräten. Das ist super. Lage ist recht zentral. Supermarkt um die Ecke. Kostenloser Parkplatz ist auch vorhanden.

The car park signage was a bit unclear, otherwise all was good.

The room was spacious and clean. We were travelling with our toddler who had an upset stomach and got sick on the bed. The staff very kindly cleaned it up for us. There is a pool onsite (but it was very cold so we didn’t stay long) and arcade.

We had specifically requested a travel cot in February well in advance of our stay in June. The hotel responded to say that they had taken note of it under our reservation and noted a charge of $10 for this. We arrived at the hotel around 5:30pm to find that there was a single camp bed in our room rather than a cot. We went down to reception and asked for a cot but the camp bed was not replaced. Our toddler slept with us for the night.

Parking was included, the pool was available and boys liked the arcade games. Room was clean and as expected!

We missed the breakfast option.

Very clean! Great spot to stay for a quick visit to Kamloops - downtown with walkable options for food, etc.

Minor complaint - bathroom was very small, and the tap in the sink was like a 'shower" - very weak (unless I just didn't know how to change that)
