Parking is huge and calculated ripoff

Rich in history- beautiful decor

I paid over $100 for a three-night stay (with ZERO valet service, this is self-parking). Front desk staff intentionally inflated parking charges-I believe they are operating a fraud situation w the parking. Problems with the reservation. No property map to find the pool or coffee shop. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. 2nd Room wasn’t ready at 4pm check-in- front desk clerk kindly said she would flip the room herself and it would only take a few minutes. Sheets probably not changed. Got a Jr suite for added privacy and turns out the separate room has the couch and tv- terrible design. I was planning a stay with family (3 rooms and dinner for 7 people) for Thanksgiving. After this stay I arranged it at another nice location instead.

Everything was amazing, but especially the staff.

I was only slightly uncomfortable with being dressed for vacation (lazy) with business meeting people all around. But it IS a convention center, so I understand

Breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable. Used hot tub to relax at pool.

The hallways and general inside temperature was way too cold. Not necessary, in my opinion to refrigerate the hotel …save some on your energy bill and turn up temps about 5 degrees to save on AC. The wine prices are quite high … often 3-4 times what you buy it for in retail, so when you buy as a reseller, the wine is likely 4-6 times what you paid. How about 2-2.5 times mark up and giving your guests a break. We deserve some quality wines (not cheap stuff) at a reasonable price/value. You’ll sell more wine and make a good profit because of it.

Room was amazing. Bar and restaurant were very good. Everyone was happy & polite.

Perfect location and excellent breakfast - a bit pricy but we enjoyed.

When we arrived they couldn't find our booking - it was made through booking.com and was confirmed. The wait was approx 20 min. the staff was nice and we finally got our room.

The staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel is beautiful. Room zero was prompt and delicious.

The view from my room was not pretty. I was not in the historical part of the hotel. I was in a room way down the hall with noisy neighbors. People getting ice after 11 pm.

This was my favorite hotel to go to conferences for state wide trainings. I always suggest this hotel for any of those when I have input. I chose this hotel to come together and collaborate with some trainings. We stayed two nights. Upon arrival, it was pouring rain. The valet staff stood and just looked at us when we pulled up. So, I eventually went up and told the one guy that I was going to use valet and he said ok. He never made one move. The two men who were working there at the time just stood there and never tried to help me whatsoever. They watched me get a cart, roll it down there in the pouring rain, and struggle to put all items from my car on the cart. If they didn't watch, they helped others and just ignored me at all costs. I don't complain or write reviews hardly ever. I just couldn't get over how badly I was treated by the valet guys. One young man that appeared after I had already loaded my stuff and rolled it up was very nice and asked if he could help take it to my room. While I appreciated him for acknowledgement, I had done all the hard work, so no, I'm good at that point. He was very nice, and wasn't present before this. The front desk and the housekeeping were excellent. However, I will say that I would never choose to have another training session or state wide conference there again. The valet staff is horrible and for 30 dollars a night, they should be absolutely helping people. I paid 60 dollars to be treated badly and do it all myself. I'm sad that I won't be staying there again, but that experience was the worst I've ever had anywhere to date.

Hotel was busy but we stayed in the relax section. Very quiet. But the hotel is overall busy so while it a great location for old town Roanoke it’s not a place to come for quiet. Our plan was just to see downtown and explore shops and eat. I would say this is a great place for business meetings and conferences. We did not use any of the on site restaurants. Plenty in town across the glass enclosed bridge which starts at the hotel.

I have been going to the Regency Room for over 20 years so I though that it would be a great place to celebrate my 80th birthday with my wife and friends. It was not - bad idea. Food served raw rather than cooked. Food served cold rather than hot. Very unappealing plate presentation. Musicians so loud no table conversation was possible. Service inexperienced. The staff, the manager was amazing. Valet attendants were very professional. The front staff smiles captivated me. I felt welcomed. They treated everyone with respect and I loved that. I will definitely return.

Love this hotel. I spent a few days abòut 18 months ago. I was tired and wandered to the bar to find out if I could eat there. The 3 bartenders on duty, Melanie, Jenn and Tammy kept me in great spirits. Melanie and Jenn were so knowledgeable about where to go in the area and Tammy took me on a tour of the speakeasy. Recently I came back and was excited to see “my girls” Sadly, none of them were on that night. I was told Jenn and Melanie were off and Tammy was no longer there. My second time around, the bar staff was not nearly as warm, friendly or attentive. A tall bald guy, an older woman with glasses and a young lady with glasses. I did not have anything close to my first experience. Overall, I still love this hotel.

Amazing historic hotel with clean rooms, wonderful service and very friendly staff. Breakfast is delicious and cute coffee shop Steam if you are on the go. There is an outdoor pool and hot tub with poolside drink service which just elevated our stay. Definitely would come back.

Room wasn’t dusted. Bathroom vent broken and cover left on toilet. Caulk was peeling in bath tub. Waitress Jenny in bar restaurant was great. Enjoyed the pictures of the history and famous guests who stayed there.

Penny, in the Pine Room restaurant, was very professional and personable, with timely service. Excellent service!

We loved our stay at Hotel Roanoke. This is our second time staying here. I would not stay here for just any trip since the price is higher than what we would normally pay. For us it’s worth the money for a special occasion or a trip without our kids. It is kid friendly though, but I would rather enjoy my time there without my kids. The room was very clean, bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. Shower is great! I love the added touch of bathrobes in the room :) The hotel is obviously gorgeous and has so much history. The pool snd hot tub is also great. Towels are provided and there were floats and pool noodles to use as well. Nice little thought. My only suggestion is to sell stamps there. I bought a post card to mail off and really wanted to use the Mail Drop on my floor (how cool!) but no stamps. They did take my post card and run it through the mail Machine so at least it was mailed.

I love the clean modern style inside the hotel and old style outside the hotel. Hilton always does the best job designing hotel rooms.

The breakfast is not very good, and potatoes dry, just not fresh.

We had ants in our room, it was super clean and comfortable, but our ordered dinner trash was in a bag beside the trashcan and when I woke up the next morning ants had COVERED the bag and floor.

Beautiful historic hotel. Unfortunately only got to stay over night, but enjoyed our brief time there. Room was large and comfortable, large desk, sitting chair and the basic essentials. Pine room restaurant was nice and the food was good, we did not bring appropriate attire for the other restaurant. Pool wasn't open yet, just the hot tub, but clean, with a nice deck area. Looks close to many attractions, we seen driving by...

Nothing really, but the long black hair on the bathroom floor didn't belong to anyone in my household.

My family and I attended the Mother’s Day buffet in Crystal Ballroom today. The place is beautiful and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The lady, Kim, who checked us in for lunch was very polite. The gentleman who sat us, Robert, was also very polite and quickly retrieved a high chair for our 2 year old. Our waitresses, Oriana and Olivia, were very helpful and attentive. The Banquet Managers, Sherri and Matt, stopped by to check on us and Matt went out of his way to make sure our celiac family members had no issues with cross contamination. The culinary staff manning the buffet stations were most helpful and knowledgeable about the food. Those I can remember names for were Mike, Leigh, Kris, and Phil. I’ll wrap this up by saying the mimosas made by Elvis were excellent. I highly recommend the holiday buffet as all the staff were excellent and the food was amazing.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Roanoke! Lovely historic hotel, nice breakfast at the Regency, fireplace in the lobby where you can enjoy drinks. Also rocking chairs on the porch but it was too chilly. As Hilton Diamond members we appreciated our upgrade to the wellness floor - great shower, linens and heated bathroom floors. It was difficult to get our suitcases up the two flights of stairs to the wellness wing and it would have been helpful if the registration staff explained this a bit better. The outdoor pool was not yet open but there was a hot tub and decent sized gym. The self parking was steep at $18. Elevated walkway over the railroad tracks to the market area very convenient.

Our family has been going to the Hotel Roanoke for over five generations, and it has always been a wonderful experience. But tonight at The Pine Room in the Hotel was even better! We had a delightful server, Sean, and after just a slight blip in the menu, Sean and the Pine Room Staff were extraordinarily kind and generous. Great drinks! Great food! Great service!! Many thanks. I couldn’t get into the Lexington Hotel that I wanted. So on a whim I booked this hotel. It didn’t disappoint. Rooms are nice. It is an old gem. The sky bridge to the downtown is too easy! The restaurant had a wonderful breakfast buffet.

Its always a pleasure to stay at this grand old hotel. Squeezed in a bit if personal time too.

It was close to downtown and had facilities on site.

Our room was an obstructed view and had to change rooms.

My room was a double window room. It led me to believe that I would have view from both windows. Unfortunately all I could see from one window was roof and shingles. 😠

From the time we entered the building until we left, everything was great! The food was wonderful as well as the wait staff. Everything was in walking distance, we didn't need our car for anything.

The only thing I didn't like was maintenance working on the roof which was right outside our room early in the morning.

The Hotel Roanoke is a beautifully appointed hotel with historical charm and modern amenities. The veranda and rocking chairs were inviting. The valet and front desk staff were warm and friendly and made us feel at home. We arrived a few hours early and our room was ready. Our two queen room was immaculate. Our room overlooked the valet circle but the light filtering shade offered privacy. Both beds were pillow top and very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was bright and clean and in great working order. We will be back!

Short stay but a very cool place! Rooms were great, bar area was great and staff were awesome.

Nicely decorated room. We also had a view of the star too which was lovely.

No water in our room. Considering we were on a road trip & stayed in at least 8 different hotels this was the only hotel that did not provide water. Also the receptionist that checked us in was not at all welcoming. She didn’t make eye contact, didn’t smile. Unfortunately I did not catch her name. We checked in around 5pm on the day of our stay.

Wonderful people and facilities. Pricey, not a value proposition but not disappointing. My breakfast server was a wonderful example of southern hospitality!

I want to let you know how pleased I was with Aileen in the Regency Room. She was very pleasant and kind to me and my family.
