Location is perfect. The room was spacious and quite comfortable. There was everything considered and accessible in the room.
The mini fridge in the cabinet created a loud vibrating noise on and off all night. It wasn't the worst, but annoying all the same.
Modern rooms and gorgeous bathrooms. The room was small but nice and clean.
The restaurant was nice, but seating was not great.
Location and the Hotel was beautiful and clean
The room smelled like sweat, specifically the pillows, blankets and carpet.
Buena ubicación
We enjoyed the walkability to local restaurants and concert venues. The room was huge and beautiful. The staff was so pleasant and accessible for questions about the beautiful city of Roanoke.
We have only positive comments!
So stylish and beautiful!
I ordered a chocolate croissant for breakfast and got a regular croissant dripping in Nutella, it was not edible.
Check in staff could have been friendly- not pleasant
Really cool old building, easy parking (and cheap), great location, helpful staff
Bar was a bit small, no lounge areas/lobby really
Everything was fabulous...
Parking and no pool but I can live without it...
Old history
Breakfast service was lacking
The room was really nice and very spacious. The historic aspect of the hotel was very nice. It was nice to see how they incorporated new aspects into the property while keeping the Integrity of the History in place. People were very nice and helpful at the front desk and in Housekeeping. We were able to walk next door to the city market and visit some store like Orvis and Mast General store which we a very short walk. We visited the Texas Tavern which was just down the street and was featured in southern living recently as a top Hamburger spot. Overall, an Extremely nice location
My wife and I were on an extended vacation driving from Alabama through the east, northeast, Canada and Cape Cod. At the end of the trip, I ventured to experiment with AI to plot our way home, asking for three equal days of driving and interesting and luxury hotels. One of the recommendation was the The Liberty Hotel in Roanoke which promised a restored bank complete with Vault in the Restaurant and scenic views of the surrounding area. I booked a deluxe king size room with view at a very reasonable rate and was informed to contact the front desk for parking arrangements. I was concerned about a downtown Hotel location in an unfamiliar town but the 15 minute parking in front of the lobby was great to unload and get sorted. The receptionist was super nice and gave us a wonderful room. The parking is off site for a slight fee but a comfortable walk. Our room was quite spacious, with a luxurious bathroom and an entire wall of windows with great views of the city and mountains, The young lady tending bar was quite friendly and introduced us to some new drinks including one made with homemade Tomato water which all of us loved. I can't say enough about this Hotel and its nice staff. We truly wished that we could have stayed longer.
We were back in Roanoke for a concert and wanted to stay in downtown near the Berglund Center. The Liberty Trust was perfect and offered that unique charm we look for when we can. Parking is nearby at Center in the Square and we walked to dinner next to The Market and then walked to Berglund Center for the concert. The older building has charm while the rooms are as modern as you'd expect. I wish we could have experienced The Vault restaurant on the first floor, but our trip was a quick one. We'll be back for our next trip to Roanoke!
The rooms were clean and big, the lobby area was nice. Location was great.
We lucked out and were able to use street parking while we were there, in front of the hotel, but I can see how parking in a garage off site would be problematic.
Came for a conference at HR and stayed here. Super close and convenient walk, took just a couple minutes over the pedestrian bridge. Everything about the hotel was top notch, from the comfy bed to the products in the shower- new obsession! The bathroom was huge and everything was very updated. I wish there was a workout room, or even a pool, but for a business stay it is perfect and I just did my workout by walking the block and taking the stairs as much as possible. Roanoke is a gem!
Friendly, clean, exceptional hotel. I felt at ease traveling solo, hotel staff were helpful and kind. Wonderful accommodations and very close to everything downtown Roanoke had to offer. Would definitely stay again. In house bar and restaurant was great.
Beautiful hotel with quality facilities and great service
Easy to get there. Friendly and helpful staff. We booked a deluxe king room with view and were located on the top floor with magnificent views.
Nothing
Cool old bank converted into hotel
Mission across the street attracts homeless and the sleep on street and are up late hours fighting to get in the building or kicked out. Train station nearby. Not a very quite area. You have to pay for coffee in the morning. Should have complimentary coffee for all who stay and at least a pastry.
The location was great and easy to get to from the major routes. The food was good with what we thought were large portions. The rooms were very clean and very spacious and QUIET; considering where we came from in Nashville, TN it was very noisy. Also, the converted building into a boutique hotel reminded us A LOT of Europe. This place is definitely worth the stay!!!
We booked a stay with our pet, per the hotel’s instructions. The website instructs to call, and we did. We spoke with reservations, booked a pet room, and received a confirmation. Later, the hotel e-mailed to say they had made a mistake with the rate, and were increasing the charge by nearly $100 to account for the pet. I’ve never had a hotel retroactively raise the price after issuing a confirmation. Even acknowledging the error was theirs, the hotel insisted we pay the higher rate. We requested - and thankfully received - a refund. Mistakes happen. Holding customers responsible for them is a choice. That choice reflects poorly on a business whose reputation depends on hospitality.
The location of the hotel was very convenient as it was close food establishments and close to the interstate. The room was very clean ,neat and roomy. The bathroom had a modern flair to it. The large portioned food was very good as we had dinner and breakfast there. It was interesting having a vault in the common area as the hotel is a form bank building. I would highly recommend the stay here as the value was excellent.
Great location and beauitful room!!
We chose the Liberty Trust Hotel because it was a boutique hotel that once was a bank. It was located in walking distance of many shops and restaurants. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. There was a bar/restaurant on site but was hosting a private party. No problem, there were numerous options in walking distance.
Very Nice room, cool lobby, friendly staff, great location.
Beautiful, large rooms, very clean, new fixtures, linens, etc. Double-pane/insolated windows ensured that we weren't disturbed by street noise. The staff was especially friendly and professional. We'll definitely stay here again!

Nothing - it was perfect
Great walking location for the rest of downtown. Beautiful refurbed bank. The lobby is gorgeous. Rooms nice and sizable. Beds great.
The breakfast menu a little limited.
Location was great! Comfortable bed. Nice size refrigerator. Clean room.
Room could use more seating. Bath gel was never refilled. Breakfast wasn’t that good. Check in staff was great but other 2 ladies were not friendly and little tough to talk with.Parking, while inexpensive was a block away.
Great location - right off the highway - easy parking very close by and close to lots of shops & restaurants. Booked a double queen room and it was perfect. Great views. Comfy beds & pillows & very very quiet. Nice big bathroom - Nespresso coffee machine. Molton Brown products. Great staff.
The team is very friendly and helpful. Because of my travel plans and activities, I made the booking and called them to request an early check-in, and they took care of my request. My room was ready and pristine. Great place to stay, with a charming location and overall atmosphere.
My advice to ANYONE considering this hotel is DO NOT DO IT unless of course you don’t care about getting a good nights sleep. I was told to make sure not to book a room facing the noisy train tracks. Management knew of our need for a quiet room away from the track’s and instead put us above a noisy roof bar that blared music until 2am. Way worse! They lie to you to get you to think it will be quiet. Pathetic. Between the motorcycles, train tracks and blaring music from the roof bar near by, no place in this hotel will get you the quiet sleep you deserve. I would never stay here again even if it were offered to me for free. Be forewarned!
The Liberty Trust was great for my business stay. It’s a great location and the rooms were spacious and clean. The bar was great (shout out to Leah) and the staff was professional and friendly. I’ll definitely stay again.
Unbeatable downtown Roanoke location, clean, modern, the Vault is wonderful, close to activities, shopping and cultural experiences. If you want big, try Hotel Roanoke, if you want first class accomodations and service, it's Liberty Trust all day.
The architecture is magnificent and the staff is top notch!
Nothing.
Situated in an former bank, the hotel preserves many of the elegant features of the bank, with well-thought upgrades. Our room was large and attractive, with huge windows and a spectacular view of Roanoke and the mountains and a great bathroom. Well situated: only a block from the Amtrak station, and in the midst of a thriving restaurant/bar scene, but any noise was completely blocked in the room. Highly recommend!
The Liberty Trust is the only place we stay in Roanoke. The customer service is top notch. The rooms are comfortable and meticulously clean. The location is excellent for taking advantage of all the amenities of downtown Roanoke include fine dining and shopping. Safe location with lots to walk to. Coffee maker and tea kettle make the rooms so homey. We can't wait for our next stay! Thanks for an absolutely lovely hotel and experience.
Nice historic hotel. Just a few minutes from the train station and walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The room was great...clean and comfortable. Felt safe with a key card entry after 10pm. It met all my needs for an overnight stay.
The staff were just amazing. From the moment I pulled up at the curb to the moment I departed, everyone went out of their way to make my stay wonderful. The property is SO unique, and in a great location for visiting Roanoke. Everything I wanted to do was within easy walking distance. I had been nervous about the parking based on the description but it was easy peasy and I could see my parked car from my hotel room, which gave me peace of mind. I would 100% stay here again. It is worth coming here just to see the super cool doors to the rooms!
Such a unique building in an old bank, fantastic location. Room was so spacious and beautifully set up. Amazing value for money.
Slightly noisy at night. Music blasting from some building close by but I’m not sure if it was just a one off, and the pros far outweighed this one con.
I love this charming small hotel. I stayed in a top-level corner room that was fantastic. It was a spacious room with a stunning view of the city and river through large windows on all sides. I'm still dreaming about the comfort of the bed, and the breakfast was delicious, although a bit slow since only one person was working. I would definitely return here again.
Very unique. Great location. Madison, the bartender, was on point.
Liberty Trust is located right in the heart of downtown Roanoke. Perfectly placed. Charming old repurposed bank, with the bank vault in the lobby being quite a cool attraction to take a look at. Service was awesome. The young lady running the front desk from 3-11 was exceptionally friendly and shared lots of good information. My room was on the fifth floor of the hotel, and on a clear day would have had a great view of downtown Roanoke and surrounding environment. Bed? Super soft, super comfortable. Pillows were special. I wish I owned a couple of them (I believe they are down pillows). The bath towels were also special....I've never felt a towel quite like it. Hard to describe except to say softly enveloping. Same, I wish I owned a couple of them. Pretty much everything about the room was fine. My only suggestions would be moving the safe to a shelf in the closet, getting the coffee maker out of the closet, and moving the shower head (it's a great rainfall type showerhead but it's fairly close to the bulkhead). (And personally, I'd prefer "normal" coffee in the room, nespresso is provided and it's ok just not what I'm used to). I made these suggestions to the hotel via their survey and received a prompt reply from their regional director which was a nice touch. All in all a great stay, I'd definitely do it again.
It was a beautiful place. Rooms and bathroom was large. Beds comfortable. Staff exceptional. I would highly recommend.
Liked the location-many attractions are walkable. Staff were very pleasant and helpful! Rooms are lovely and the food is excellent. Don’t be deterred by garage parking that is less than a block from the hotel.
My stay at the The Liberty Trust Hotel in downtown Roanoke was nothing short of exceptional. The transformation of this historic former bank into a boutique hotel is absolutely stunning—the architecture and design beautifully preserve its character while offering modern comfort and style. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, courteous, and professional, making me feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout my stay. Their attention to detail and willingness to assist truly elevated the experience. The room itself was cozy and thoughtfully designed, with amazing amenities that made it both comfortable and luxurious. Every detail, from the furnishings to the overall ambiance, contributed to a relaxing and memorable visit. If you’re looking for a unique and elegant place to stay in Roanoke, The Liberty Trust Hotel is a standout choice. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
friendly staff parking convenience
loved everything about this hotel
Don't bother. What a disappointing experience! The hotel is a converted historic bank, so had lots of potential. However, the rooms were barely adequate - tiny furniture spaces to put your stuff, everything was made of formica in the bedroom, coffee maker didn't work, etc. The worst thing was the noise! The train tracks are nearby (which didn't bother me after you got used to it) and there was very loud traffic noise, music nearby, and partying on the street below. No soundproofing whatsoever. I didn't go to sleep until the bars closed at 2am. Also, had a drink in the bar - an aperol spritz - one of the easiest drinks to make, but they added all kinds of fruit juices, and I don't think there was any prosecco or even wine. The whole experience was disappointing to say the least. They have a lot to improve.
Full size bed for two people , bad mattress, ac blowing on the bed
Central location. Friendly check in
You just get what you pay for, nothing special. Facilities are pretty limited. An ok bar area and that’s really it
Nice decor and comfortable.
Staff was unfriendly.
Nice rooms in a converted bank building. Great location in downtown Roanoke. Parking was offsite but convenient and reasonably priced.
While the bank lobby ambience is good, breakfast was disappointing and I would suggest going out instead. Part of this may have been a staffing issue, as one individual had to cook and take orders.
The lobby restaurant had a great atmosphere, but most seating was more sofa/chair cocktail than meal friendly. But the apps we tried were very good. Our room featured a "classic queen"which we decided was code for a full size. Check in can be a little tricky if you have much luggage. There is a high curb. Parking is across the street. Very nice staff. Decor was interesting and fit the building perfectly.
Location
Hotel looks old, too expensive for its value
3 Art friends spent a wonderful overnight at the Liberty Trust. Thebeaux a design and beauty of this gem is beyond compare. The marble, carvings, vault and bar are gorgeous--representative of the best of beaux arts architecture. We had a lovely welcome at the reception and found all staff to be so helpful. We each had a single and all were very satisfied. WE enjoyed an appetizer and drink and then had small plates in the lounge as we had a packed day and enjoyed relaxing at the hotel for the evening. They held our bags after checkout so we could continue some shopping and walking. We plan to stay there again. For museum goers, the Taubman is a marvelous museum--surprising number of excellent exhibitions for a regional museum. A+ all around.
The historic charm was wonderful! You could truly envision what it must have been like years ago when it was an active bank!
The Liberty Trust is located in a perfect spot if you are traveling south and need a unique stopover. The atmosphere is nostalgic as you feel as if you are walking into a beautiful vintage bank. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. Gorgeous showers, clean and shiny with copper accents everywhere. You are right in the city but the noise level is zero. The bar and restaurant is very comfortable and everything we had was delicious. Great and friendly service. Morning breakfast is a must! Great value!
Wonderful hotel. First time visiting although I had walked past the hotel in past. Great restoration of a circa 1920’s bank building . Retained all the key historical parts and added modern features. The room was large and well appointed. The hallway room doors are brass trimmed which looks great. A nice touch is art from the Taubman museum in the lobby and floor lobbies. Great view of the railway and other Roanoke sites and even a view of the mountains. Did not try the restaurant but did have a cocktail and dessert at the bar which were very good. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown. Parking is a very short walk away and overnight parking with in and out privileges at $8 is a steal. Highly recommend.
Beautiful rooms
We absolutely loved our stay at the hotel! The staff was amazing—so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit. The location couldn’t have been better, making it easy to enjoy everything nearby. We only stayed one night, but it left such a great impression on us that we’re already looking forward to coming back for a longer stay and exploring more of the city!
I did not think the staff friendly at all. Upon arrival we parked at the door to check in. They were not friendly or upbeat. I asked about the valet to park car a block away and they said didn’t have one. You park in a five story, old garage on floors 4-5. I would never go in alone. So, we waited 15-20 minutes for them to find a buggy to load our stuff and then let them “watch it” so we could go park. Room sparse. A king bed, small chair, and wardrobe. The room is dark, clock on the wall that doesn’t work and one small sink in bathroom. Shower was large but have to step in to back wall to turn on. No sliding doors. The worst thing was I hit the end of the footboard (about 14 inches high) and cut the heck out of my leg. Put four band-aides on it after stopping the bleeding and went to bed. Loud music half the night from somewhere on the street. But, I did sleep some. Then got husband to get a first aid kit or something downstairs. He said the lady was nice and gave him three big bandages. We put them on and left by 7:30 am. While downstairs waiting for him to get the car I mentioned I was the one that hurt my leg and she said “oh, I have done that before”. Not, I’m sorry, are you in pain etc…..
Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Roanoke. Gorgeous old bank building with restaurant and bar on site. Staff was wonderful, especially Dawn at reception and Laura behind the bar. Room was comfy and well-appointed. Will definitely book again.
The Liberty Trust is a total gem. The location is perfect. The building itself is gorgeous. The bar area is ideal with wonderful service and great cocktails! The rooms had everything you could possibly need. We loved the way so much of the old bank was restored and saved. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be back!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Liberty Trust boutique hotel. It was nostalgic with the quality historic bank architecture and doors, etc. It feels very upscale but still is affordable and right in the heart of downtown! We will be back!
Had a great stay at this hotel! The location was perfect and we were able to walk everywhere. The hotel staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and accommodating. The only minus was some noise from people getting on and off the elevator. The room was clean and had many windows with a great view.
Hotel had many amenities. Room was spacious. Staff was very friendly. We actually had an employee help us with our TV trying to locate the Super bowl. Breakfast was very nice. Parking was well within walking distance of Hotel. Easy in and out.
Liked it all.
facility is great. loved the old facility and how it was updated. We had breakfast there but did not realize that dinner was available and we already had other reservations
Parking situation was not the greatest as I was nervous about going to the car at night. Would advertise the kitchen more
My husband and I both inadvertently booked the same night at the hotel. (One was a refundable Queen room and the other, a non refundable double) Found out about it when we checked in and was told since we wanted the double room, we could take the non refundable portion as a future stay credit. We applied part of the credit towards the double room we we're staying in which was a higher rate. I asked for a voucher and was told it wasn't necessary because all the details would be in the reservation. Fast forward to now when I go to use the credit for a one night stay in February. I call the hotel and I'm told they don't deal with customer service by phone, you can only email them. I thought this was bizarre but after I emailed them and received a response saying that they decided to retain the remaining amount and it would no longer constitute a credit, I realized that they have no sense of dedication or concern for keeping satisfied guests. I now understand why their rating is a 2.7. They simply don't care. Avoid the Liberty Trust Hotel in Roanoke.
Location
Parking garage
Very good provisions for room guests - the toiletries, teas, coffees etc; good quality linens. Overall very comfortable.
Very noisy air conditioning.
We did not have breakfast. I greatly appreciated free morning coffee!
Offerings at the restaurant.
It was not only historical but the area was Bristol & e felt walking was safe & fun.
Nothing ❤️❤️❤️
I loved all of the copper and marble details throughout the hotel, it still had some original features from when it was a bank and I adored the fact that they kept those historical details. The view of the mountains from our room was so beautiful as well! Staff was friendly, and the hotel was relatively close to hiking trails. Amazing food nearby too!
There was no continental breakfast, but they did have items for purchase downstairs in the lobby area and there are some restaurants/breakfast spots in the nearby area. Overall very pleased with everything!
Wonderful hotel behind the train station. Walk to downtown Roanoke. Very clean and well decorated rooms. o comfortable. Will stay again when I need to take the train.
None
A beautifully appointed property close to everything downtown. The room was clean and commodious!
Hard to control the heat. Was a little warm.
Good value and a clean room in a convenient location. Parking across the street in the surface lot was affordable. Will consider this hotel again for business trips.
Beautiful old bank building, perfectly restored, no polyester sheets, bitchin’ bar downstairs, fabulous and helpful woman at reception, super clean, giant graphic bathroom, why stay at a boring place when you can stay here?
We had an enjoyable stay over Christmas and as the hotel did not have breakfast Christmas Day we were able to walk across the bridge to another hotel to eat. Our room had a great view, was clean and comfortable. I’d be happy to go back.
Such a great hotel!! Fantastic location and atmosphere. The crab dip was to die for right along with the drinks. I usually wake up missing my own bed....that did not happen! Spectacular mattress and crisp sheets for the win!
