Reviewed Aug 18, 2026We enjoyed the location close to eateries, a park for walking our dog, and enjoyed seeing such magnificent care of the old downtown buildings. We were only there for one night so it would be a place to come back to on other travels. The hotel is very well maintained and we loved the size of our room. Breakfast was filling and yummy.
The hotel itself was hard to get to inorder to check in due to part of the street being one way. We had to drive around several times to figure out how to park in the unloading area infront of the hotel.

Reviewed Jul 4, 2026Came here bc Hotel Roanoke was not pet friendly. Loved the balcony. Loved the front desk experience, even after being checked in via text.
The absolute only thing I missed was having a large magnifier mirror in the bathroom. So not a big deal. I loved the fluffy towels and the lotions and shampoos installed on the walls.

Reviewed Jun 13, 2026Great location in the middle of town and near everything. Easy, convenient parking. Clean and quiet. And Matt, the young man at the front desk, was outstanding. In his own polite, kind, unassuming way, he is just what every front desk person should ideally be like. My wife and I are glad we stayed there. We heartily recommend it.

Reviewed Apr 15, 2026I should have known when I had no loading zone to park at initial check-in. To be clear - there is room for 2 sprinter vans and 3 cars/Jeeps. Yet no-one moved their vehicles for 30+ minutes and upon mention to the front desk, I was met merely with a shrug. Parking is impossible here. It’s unfortunate really. I’ve been staying at this property since it was built. I’m at the top of Hilton’s status - have been for 25 years. They didn’t think to mention either that the fitness center is being redone and feel free to hike 10 brisk-walk minutes thru the city one-way to use another property’s facilities (if you can get in). Great to know when I made the reservation? Maybe? All this is just topped with a who cares attitude! If you have a choice- look elsewhere- for now….

Reviewed Feb 23, 2026The property was very clean. The customer service was excellent. The receptionist met. He was very helpful and communicated well with what I needed it. He is greatly appreciated. It was easy to find the location of the elevators and the other facilities in the hotel because they were labeled.
My husband didn’t like that the mattress in the bed was firm, and the pillows were too soft. Everything was good to me.

Reviewed Feb 16, 2026NOT HILTON QUALITY There were several issues with our room on the 9th floor. The hall carpet is new and smelled strong but that's normal these days unfortunately. The bathroom door is too big for the small bathroom. The toilet is too low. The TV really sucked because we rented a movie on my YouTube but there's a device on their TV to prevent guests from watching movies unless purchased from the hotel. 🙄 The fridge wasn't adjustable and I was concerned about steak leftovers. More pillows and bigger ones!!! The views were epic of Roanoke. The bed was comfy. Dedrei was really nice at the front desk.

Hampton Inn states they supply streaming tv. Upon our arrival we reported the tv could not connect to the internet. A very nice person came to fix it and replaced the batteries in the remote. We told him it was the internet connection. He didn't fix it. The next morning we reported again and left for the day. When we tried to connect to Netflix that night, message said it couldn't connect to internet. We reported again. The same person came again and still couldn't fix it. When we checked out I again said the streaming function never worked. She handed me her manager's card.

Customer Service from front desk does really need improvement as the staff doesn't have any idea about Customer Service, -First Case: when I just arrived and started to do my check-in , a delivery man arrived and without any warning the front desk staff just left the counter to check the delivery.... At least she should have said "Sorry Sir, give me a minute I will be back to you...." but not a word .... Then the staff encountered an issue with my Bank Card saying my card was declined I shoul check with my bank and insisting me calling my bank ... My bank is in France and to call an advisor at around midnight it is impossible, We tried another card it was declined as well .... I insisted I just check-out from Hampton Inn the same morning and no problem with Card Payment.... I finally advised the staff to use the bank terminal and then it works....Hurray!!! -Second Case: I went to request some help with my Room Card but as soon as I approach the counter the staff shouted an unpleasant "Yes Sir" and I was feeling I was back in the Army 30 years ago.... I'm so used to travel in Asia where the staff will have greet me nicely with a "Good evening sir, how may I help you ?" with a gentle tone.... Her tone was so loud that I cannot refrain myself to let her know we are in an hotel and not in the Army barracks.... -Third case, the day before my departure I approach the front desk staff and informed I will check-out early the following day and I will need a taxi going from Hampton Inn till the train station, I knew the distance was short but we had 7 luggages with my daughter and we needed a taxi. Staff told me no worry we will call a taxi tomorrow morning for you and there is 24h staff at Front Desk. The day after at 05h30 am Front desk staff was here (I got nice greetings this time) and I requested a taxi but despite the staff calling for taxi, he was always transfer to auto-message device.
