Very friendly woman at the reception desk who spoke English. We needed a place to stay on short notice and Casa Blanca came through. The room was clean and comfortable. We checked in late in the evening and went straight out to a restaurant. We left early the next day. While I can't say much about the hotel from our brief stay I can tell you from living here that you could not ask for a better location. The hotel is just a few blocks from the Malecon, the central plaza and all sorts of restaurants and shops. I would think it would be an ideal spot for somebody visiting Ajijic.
Ventilation in the king bed room we stayed in is not the best. There is no air conditioning, but we really didn't need it as nights are cool here. The problem was there wasn't any way to get good cross ventilation without propping doors open. There is a ceiling fan and windows next to the patio door, though. Also, there was quite a bit of noise from a bar down the street but it's Mexico. That's part of the charm.
The location was great! I enjoyed the rooftop patio, comfortable bed, and nice bathroom details.
Excellent staff, clean rooms and very well located.
Everything was very good. A more firm mattress is the only thing that was lacking.
Small hotel Friendly. Caring staff. Great location.
Es realmente de los hoteles donde más cómodo me he sentido
The room I booked had a refrigerator that did not cool bread enough to prevent mold. The cook top had no controls and quickly was dangerously hot. It needs an induction cooktop, 49.00 on Amazon. The two women who cleaned my room did an excellent job. The breakfast was sparse and was not a true continental.
The American manager increased my bill by 100-150.00 for reasons neither I nor Booking.com could figure out. He responded often in Spanish which I don't understand. He did not seem to recognize or honor my Booking.com reservation which was in CDN and US dollars, and not in pesos. I was surpised that Booking.com could not intervene, although some help was provided. I have been a Booking.com customer since 2000 and this is the first time they failed to make a hotel owner honor the contract as originally reserved.
ha atencion de su personal
Todo estuvo muy bien.
The location was great and the staff were too. Kudos to all, especially Andrea, Brenda, and Jesus.
Some of the other guests were loud, slammed doors, called each other names.
Room comfy and clean, staff great, quiet, quaint
Expensive, breakfast not great
Exactly what wanted. Hardboiled eggs. Fruit. Bread. Juice. I was very satisfied. Good coffee. The staff was wonderful. Exceeded my expectations.
Great location, friendly staff,
La cama, con un colchón de lo más confortable. El desayuno, inigualable.
La simpatía del personal
Cama muy incómoda. Ruidoso. Apariencia de suciedad. Para nada corresponden las estrellas
Great hotel in good location. Continental breakfast every morning. Very friendly staff. Heat in bedroom, which is a rarity fir Mexico.
Nothing.
Staff kindly & helpful Alexandra was extra helpful. Always cleaning, did an excellent job doing our laundry
Poor timing. City wide celebrations of loud music late at night, then bombs set at 6am. From Nov20-30. Then the lobby of hotel began remodeling, drilling ,etc all day. I understand new ownership. Another time may be more enjoyable. Rooms clean, somewhat small for the price.
The staff are amazing and the bed so comfortable! Location perfect! Saturday hot breakfast was great.
The continental breakfast could include cereals as well.
Our four-night stay at Hotel Casa Blanca was outstanding, with warm energy, a welcoming atmosphere, and staff who went above and beyond at every turn. Their thoughtful service—from anticipating our needs to adding personal touches—made the entire experience truly unforgettable.
That we had to leave.
I loved the hotel and it's staff. Everyone was so kind and went out of their way to make me comfortable. For example, I booked a spa package and a staff member walked me to the location. I could have easily found it but it was lovely that she made sure I got there without a problem. My bed was large and comfortable. There were a bunch of pillows just like I have on my bed at home (It's a girl thing, don't judge me!). My room had a patio which was shared with the room next door. There were plenty of dining option within walking distance, and Lake Chapala was about 2.5 blocks away. A continental breakfast was available. There's a small local restaurant right next door I frequented a couple times. The shower was large and had great water pressure. If you wanted to cook a meal, or in my case heat up leftovers, there was the means to do that. I appreciated have a fridge to keep my insulin cool. I highly recommend Hotel Casa Blanca.
Having to leave.
Very lovely small hotel. The room was like a room in your own home. Extremely comfortable bed, and lovely bed linens. The location is wonderful, easy to walk to everything. The staff was very caring.
I wouldn't take off any points, but the breakfast could have have added a few more items.
Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms, quiet and very comfortable. Included in the price was a lovely breakfast!
Nothing to dislike
The room was great and hard to beat the location. The employees at the hotel were hard working and super friendly, with superstars like Jesus and Andrea.
All good.
Excelentes y hermosas instalaciones, además la ubicación y comodidad. Todo excelente.
Creo que pueden esforzarse más en el desayuno. Aunque técnicamente sí dan desayuno continental, deja mucho qué desear.
Nice friendly staff… quiet place to stay.. really close to the malecón..
Overall good vibe, friendly people and great location!
Buen lugar muy tranquilo
A nice breakfast is served.
I know the staff by name. Very nice atmosphere
Nothing to complain about.
Historic cozy boutique hotel in a perfect location close to the lake , shops and plaza. Staff was friendly , rooms clean . It felt welcoming and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again and/or recommend to friends.
Location excellent, walking g distance to most attractions.
Wonderful staff. Excellent location. Good breakfast.
Na
Bed is made of unfinished pieces of wood, dangerously shaky and squeaky, bottom sheet yellow, mattress size smaller than full, every small move made loud squeak. Bedroom and bathroom are separated by PARTIAL wall! Owners of Casa Blanca think that privacy in bathroom is not necessary. Hand towel dirty. Old leaky windows don't cut street, hotel noise. This room #8 is NOT suited for a couple. High room price doesn't correspond the quality.
It was very charming, friendly and nicely decorated. We liked meeting the other guests at breakfast.
I missed breakfast because we left before it was served
Parking info
Great locations within walking distance of the malecon and the plaza. Cafes and restaurants are nearby.
Continental breakfast service starts a bit late (8:30am).
Fantastic place to stay right in the heart of Ajijic. Super helpful and friendly staff! Small but quite sufficient continental breakfast. Restaurants all around. We will be recommending this for our guests!
Good location and service
Great hotel, close by to town, clean, pet friendly, nice people.
Location was great Staff very attentive and friendly Quaint setting
The continental breakfast was average
Some variety at B'fast from day to day please! Maintenance issues around the property and hot water not easy to come.
Me encantó el lugar y está en el centro
Great experience
This charming hotel is perfectly located near the Ajijic plaza, close to everything in town. The rooms are beautifully designed, with spacious, comfortable beds. What truly stands out, though, is the incredible staff. They’re friendly, helpful, and wonderfully accommodating. During our stay, we were in another town when our son, who had stayed behind at the hotel, woke up feeling hungry. Although the hotel doesn’t offer room service, the staff went above and beyond by leaving the hotel to get him food, ensuring we didn’t need to rush back—such thoughtful service!
The hotel offers a continental breakfast, including boiled eggs and pan dulce (we aren’t breakfast eaters, so we didn’t try it). Our only minor complaint was the coffee, which wasn’t to our liking. However, we didn’t mention it until the last day since we were getting coffee from a fantastic café right across the street.
Breakfast was bad. Hard boiled eggs. Yogurt
It was very loud
very quiet and peaceful with a wonderful staff of upbeat diligent people. lovely decor all around and great places to work and relax. very conducive for working remotely. lots of places to sequester yourself in the lounge, bar and terrace. the continental breakfast was perfect: lots of great coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt, eggs etc. loved my stay. Jesus, the manager, is the best.
I have no complaints.
Excelente servicio y un ambiente arquitectónico bellísimo
Cool
Cumple con el servicio
Very quaint hotel…great staff. Great location
Excelente servicio.
Great little boutique hotel and a perfect location to everything. Easy walking to a parts of Ajijic. The staff was very friendly, every morning we had a nice continental breakfast, sometimes cold and sometimes hot food was served. They even have a little lounge, where we could gather with our friends instead of going out if we wanted. We did stay the first night although the bar was stocked with alcohol it lacked mix and ice. We stayed in the one bedroom unit which was very comfortable, slept well in the comfy bed. Would stay again.
Hotel was 2 blocks from main street and restaurants. Unfortunately, this trip they were redoing the main street with sidewalks and road so it was a little hard to get around and a lot of the shops were closed due to construction. When this is completed that area will be great. The hotel was great and everyone, including guests were friendly, also it was quiet.
Like most places in Mexico, they could use a little more light in the bathroom and our room did not have hot water, other rooms said they had no problem.
Small boutique motel I think probably less than 12 rooms very clean very friendly staff, but it is a small hotel. Bed was extremely comfortable the room was extremely clean but definitely the worst part of the stay was that the hot water in the shower was practically nothing. We found it strange because the hot water coming from the sink was very hot. If we were ever going back to the area we would definitely give it a stay again but we would check the hot water in the shower first. I don't know if this is a reoccurring problem or if it was just isolated that one day.
The location was awesome and the accommodations were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel Casa Blanca is as many reviews shared, great location to everything, great staff and price. However the breakfast was barely coffee and dry cereal and like many guests there we looked to other outside restaurants for breakfast. The cold water did not work in my room so showers were extremely hot and needed to be quick or burn. I wanted to change reservation and that wasn’t possible as other reviews have stated so once you book sorry if things change.
Beautiful boutique style hotel, very comfortable beds and friendly staff. Will stay again if ever back to Ajijic
It was such a wonderful place to stay! So comfortable & clean & friendly. The beds were so comfy! Like heaven.
The location was quite good as it was a short walk to the main town plaza and lake. Close to restaurants and bars. The staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was good with some variety on different mornings.
The bed was very soft although we prefer a firm bed. There were a lot of firecrackers (?) going off at the church which were quite annoying as they went late at night and early in the morning (6:00 AM). Could use dish soap for cleaning up the dishes.
Everything was fine. The food and staff were lovely. Sadly the shower was not very clean. And the rooftop was really dirty, loungers fell apart, chairs were rusty/broken.
Authentic older Mexican property. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The hotel is older but has a sweet charm to it. It takes a long time to get hot water so just wait,..it will show up. Beds are comfortable and there is a fan & heater in the closet depending on what you might need to be comfortable. Our room had a fridge. They have a humble little breakfast available and hot coffee in the morning. It does the trick. The location is perfect, 2 blocks from the Malacon.
Every thing was perfect, our room was very nice and the service was very good. Looking forward to a future stay.
Friendly service, quiet, not crowded, relaxing atmosphere, quaint.
Toilet seats were loose in room and in public banos.
Great location in the heart of Ajijic with lots of restaurants, boutiques and the main plaza within walking distance. Just blocks from the lake.
Quaint hotel. Comfortable bed but the rooms are in desperate need of a facelift.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful & pleasant
The staff was very accommodating.
The shower lost its water pressure during my shower. My spouse could not shower. It wasn't fixed my midafternoon. We spoke with the staff and advised we would have to leave. After a week, we are still waiting for two nights credit. Other than the water problem, we enjoyed our stay there. Since the hotel has not issued a credit, I contacted Citicorp and filed a dispute so that I am not responsible for the two nights were paid for in advance that we did not use due to the water issue.
Wonderful staff very friendly and always helpful. The place is a great older place with tons of charm. Lots of outdoor spaces to relax or enjoy breakfast. Had a wonderful stay thank you all!
Great place. Cute little boutique. Great service!
Beautiful hotel, comfy, close to the lake and the plaza, and staff was wonderful and super nice!
Only thing was, the day we arrived it was very hot. Though it is a wonderful hotel it could use a minisplit in the top rooms for days when needed.
No hubo agua caliente el primer día para bañarse Nos bañamos con agua fría Lo arreglaron
Simple, straight forward. Everything was as described in travel pages.
The experience was excellent, but my credit card got cloned at that place.
The experience was excellent, but my credit card got cloned at that place.
A friend stayed there before the lockdown and recommended Hotel Casa Blanca in Ajijic. The staff was extremely nice and tried to be very helpful. However, I was extremely disappointed with the “hotel” and I checked out two days earlier than expected. The manager requested full payment upon my arrival. I am accustomed to hotels accepting payment at the end of the stay. Now, I see why payment was requested upfront. The manager, though very nice and very personable, did not take the major credit card I made the reservation with, and only accepted Visa, Mastercard, or cash. I requested a refund for the two nights I did not stay and that request wasn’t honored. I would like Expedia to facilitate a complete refund for the following reasons. 1. There was a dead bug in my bedding and when I showed it to the manager, he said they would change the sheets and that maybe the last person left it there. The room should have been cleaned thoroughly before I arrived. 2. The closet was very musty and I had to air it out and use an essential oil to mitigate the smell before I could hang my clothing in it. 3. I had to request a face cloth, the towels were hard and extremely inexpensive ones, there were no tissues in the room, and when I requested some I was told that they don’t supply tissues. 4. Some of the furniture needed to be dusted. 5. The blanket was EXTREMELY old and worn, because it had pilling all over it. 6. There was a body odor of someone on one of the pillows.
It is the perfect location. It’s close to the Malecon, the plaza, restaurants and shops. It’s on a quiet street. The staff were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. No complaints.
Excelente atención
Surrounded by more pricy b&bs in the heart of the town not far from the malecón. Fresh fruit was awesome. Coffee ready every morning at 8:30! Bed was awesomely comfortable. Clean. Has an evening- low key bar on the premises. Coffee shop across the way. Stairs to the Rooms. Small Quiet patios. Also had some English channels on the tv
It was great.
