Very personable host and friendly staff who truly made us feel welcomed. Beautiful common ground with pool along with interior spaces furnished very tastefully and decorated with wonderful art pieces. Generous breakfast, a bar open in the afternoon until early evening and all day access to a Nespresso machine in the salon. Walking distance to many sights and good restaurants and the property is secured very well.

The staff are amazing! The room was very clean. It was great having a refrigerator, microwave, toaster available as a mini kitchen close to our room. Everyone is very honest, no one touches someone else's stuff in frig etc. I requested the second floor but now know I would feel equally safe on the first floor. The pool was absolutely wonderful and open until 8 pm. It is heated year round and we went in every day we could. The town is small but very special in culture and tradition. So many fabulous restaurants. The Lake Chapala Society is close to the hotel to ask questions about moving to Mexico or about dual citizenship. The best migration attorney that I have found is a block away from the Lake Chapala Society named ABC Attorney. She is wonderful and gives answers you can trust and depend on unlike most attorneys that claim to know information. The Lake is huge and stretches a very long distance. The sunset over Lake Chapala is breathtaking and very romantic. The vendors on the malecon have coconuts, jewelry, leather, sunglasses and many more treasures. The malecon is concrete and a great walkway if you wish to walk along the water to see the cranes and other birds. The hotel has a wonderful breakfast included in the cost of your room which is so tasty. We rented a car and when we returned always had a parking spot right outside the hotel door at no additional cost. The hotel lists local tours which we enjoyed going on two great tours: the goat farm and the ancient historic reins from the Independence Mexican War. Both tours were outstanding and well worth it. Our last day we walked the area and visited the Guadalajara Cathedral. Our trip was magical!!!

The time went too fast!!! I didn't understand until the last day when I asked the owner and she explained to me. At the beginning of our trip I put the tip in the room envelop for the maid service but upon return to the room the room was very clean but the money remained in the envelop. The owner explained that nothing is taken from the room as everyone is extremely honest so turn in the tip to the office at the end of your trip and the staff will receive their tips.

Elizabeth (owner) and all staff were very nice to deal with. Complimentary breakfasts were fantastic. Location was convenient for walking, close to restaurants and local bus route to Chapala, Hotel had a nice flow and lots of areas to relax. Lovely art displayed by local artists

More of an observation and not a criticism - power outage happened and it was a surprise to us that the hotel had no backup generator. As a result, there was no water or electricity for a few hours. This being said they did everything in their power to get power restored. This was a very short period of time and power outages in the area are uncommon.

I absolutely loved that Elizabeth and her staff overdeliver at every opportunity. Not only is the property a of art itself, the property, the vibe, the hospitality is second to none. I did my research before I went, and while I was there, I checked on many other properties and I can truthfully say I was so glad I chose Casa Del Sol.

There is nothing that I can include in the category of dislikes about this property, lol. The vibe was a total joy.

Totally comfortable. The room was great, as was the whole place. We spent quite a bit of time in and around the pool, and managed a drink at the bar every afternoon. Breakfasts were excellent, even without the cooked item, which changed every day. Best of all there was an espresso machine! All the staff were kind and helpful. We had good conversations with other guests over drinks. We loved the place.

Every morning breakfast was: Fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, tea, coffee, muffins, and then the main course of our choice. All were delicious. Served on beautiful plates by a friendly staff member always smiling and helpful. Gorgeous artwork everywhere. Friendly staff, including the owner, Elizabeth. We were astonished at the immense and luxurious casita (casa son risa), which was a fully equipped apartment with a kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom, bathroom and screened in porch just steps from the gorgeous pool.

Nothing! It was perfect. And a great location too in the centro area. Easy walking to fabulous restaurants and points of interest.

This property is beautiful and I loved everything about my stay. The room was spacious and incredibly peaceful. Additionally, the staff were all very kind, and the breakfast was both fresh and delicious. It is also perfectly located close to local restaurants, shops, and the main tourist attractions.

Gorgeous Inn in an artsy style walkable to the Plaza and Malecon. Lots of very classy touches and edgy sculpture everywhere. The rooms are large and plush if noisy at the front. Huge soft beds. Breakfast is a little limited but delicious, also designed to be as pleasing on the eye as the stomach unless you have a large appetite. Alicia and Elizabeth have a fine eye for detail and could not have been more helpful with advice and transport. Its clearly aimed at the older American couple but you'd have to be dead not to feel pampered here whatever your situation.

Almost faultless but fell short of a perfect 10 as I had a couple of housekeeping fails, quickly rectified. The shower in my room filled up quickly and drained away slowly, so be watchful. The place has no staff from mid evening until breakfast, so be sure to remember entry codes etc.

The design and architecture of the building is exquisite and truly Mexican style. I was there in early January and was able to swim in the pool. The breakfasts were excellent where it's easy to meet other travelers. They have an open air kitchen where you can store food in the fridge, have coffee and fill up your water bottle. They coordinate rides with drivers that serve the hotel. I was scheduled to arrive around 10:30pm so I used one of their drivers because he knew the door code and how to get me to my room. It cost a bit more than a regular taxi but it was safe, reliable and he got me to my room late at night. I hope to stay here again for a much longer time. I was in room 2 with a balcony facing the morning sky sunrise.

Elizabeth and her staff take every opportunity t provide an excellent stay at Casa Del Sol. From the decor to the food, Casa Del Sol is an excellent value. I even was bale to pre arrange a pick up and drop off from/to Guadalajara with Elizabeth before we arrived, making arriving and departing a breeze. The staff is friendly and accommodations were beautiful and a very short walk to the Lake Chapalla Society, Malecon and Plaza de Centro. We would absolutely stay there when returning to Ajijic. A very special place.

The only issue we had was being in Ajijic during a holiday. There was very loud music played in town until the early morning for two nights during our stay and fireworks went off throughout the two days surrounding New Years. Other than that part of the local culture, Casa Del Sol and Ajijic are absolutely magical.

It’s close to the main plaza and the best restaurants. The staff cleans up your room daily while you are out in town. Breakfast changes daily and is whenever you want!

What an utterly delightful place to stay while checking out the town of Ajijic. The common areas of this hotel are wonderful, the space is light and airy, loads of comfortable seating, and convenient to the bar and the kitchen from where wonderful breakfasts emerge every day. There is a terrific restaurant right at the end of the block and there is no shortage of good restaurants nearby. It is a very short walk to the main square where there is always a hum of activity. A real plus is that the hotel is a gathering place for many in the local community. Twice a month there is an Ajijic transferee who holds court to anyone new to the town or considering moving there. There are weekly game nights, a Spanish conversational course, movie nights, and more. Elizabeth, the innkeeper is lovely and very helpful with setting up transport to nearby towns. And she is a wealth of knowledge about Ajijic. Our room was terrific and although we were there for a short time, it would be ideal for someone who wanted a longer stay as it has a full kitchen. The space was large, lovingly decorated, and we had an outside space that opened up to the swimming pool. There are also lovely lounging areas on the other floors with wonderful views of the city. We would happily return.

The hotel is very nice and centrally located in town. We were greeted by the manager and given a quick tour of the place. The hotel is well maintained and clean.

Good location. Breakfast was well intended with daily different choices, but the execution was let to desire.

There was no one at the reception when we got there after a 7hrs drive from Puerto Vallarta regardless of coordinating our estimated arrival time. Took a while to solve. When we finally got our room, the balcony was stacked with welding equipment and a ladder. I understand the improvement process but it was not a feature we were looking for. Staff was a little distracted by the Holiday hustle and bustle so, there were a couple of glitches. The owner briefly introduced herself at breakfast time and that was it. Other than that it was a pleasant stay which the bartender did contribute to greatly.

We loved our 1 night stay here. We enjoyed a day of shopping, dinner and relaxation. There is everything you will need. The atmosphere is beautiful and serene. They have a beautiful pool, a bar and a full breakfast is included. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment!! 👌

It's beautiful, with gorgeous plants, art, and nooks and crannies to hang out in at different times of the day.

We have windows that open for fresh air. We can see the sky from our window.

For us, it was petty near as perfect a place to stay as possible. That our room (2) faced onto the street,it was too noisy to leave the door open at night, but there's a mini split to cool the nights. Still I loved our room with its balcony. Couldn't have been happier A rooftop terrace adds to the comfort of the room. Breakfasts were delicious, and plenty to fill you with morning energy. The location is central to downtown Ajijic, and a block and a half to the lake and Malecon. I highly recommend La Casa de Sol to anyone visiting Ajijic.

Monday through Saturday, the service is excellent. Breakfast is good woth nice choices. Facilities are clean and welcoming. Rooms are nice sized. In the afternoon there are cookies amd agua fresca. There are game nights and other activities. Staff is helpful. Pet friendly

Sunday morning coffee was half an hour late, and we were told 30 minutes before our expected breakfast time that Sunday breakfast starts 90 minutes later. This was not good, and several guests, including us, were inconvenienced. This was after everyone was woken up early by fireworks and church bells starting at 5 am. We went out to another restaurant, and other guests just sat around waiting. Sunday afternoon, staff disappeared, and the usual cookies and agua fresca didn't arrive, so it felt less like a comfortable boutique hotel and a bit more like an empty place.

El área de lavado del hotel estaba justo al lado de mi habitación, por lo que me despertó escuchar las lavadoras el domingo a las 7am aproximadamente. No tiene estacionamiento para todos los huéspedes. La alberca tiene calentadores solares, por lo que la temperatura al iniciar el día aún es fría.

The property was so lovely, well appointed, cozy with a mix of modern and traditional Mexican touches. Wonderful included breakfast and snacks provided throughout the day. The staff was wonderful too, especially Efram. We would highly recommend this hotel in the heart of Ajijic, walking distance to everything.

La ubicación y la atención del staff, fue excelente. La alberca estaba climatizada, aunque pequeña para un momento de relax esta perfecta.

Los vecinos que nos tocaron de la habitación, (hay una estancia previa en común) esto se que no depende del hotel pero fueron muy "ruidosos" de manera inoportuna, y viajamos con familia, entonces fue incomodo.

Casa del Sol is the best place to stay in Ajiijic. All the staff are super nice especially Elizabeth the owner. Breakfasts are fantastic! Rooms are really comfortable. Love everything about this hotel. The location is also close to the heart of Ajiijic. Will definitely be back!

Room's are large and comfortable. Drinking water is easily available. Breakfasts are tasty. Staff and owner were friendly. We are happy with the dog friendly prices and charging.

This boutique hotel is located in the center of the ajijic town. Walking distance to the lake and many great restaurants. The hotel is artistically decorated with many collectible arts and sculptures. The breakfast is awesome and quick. The owner and staffs are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
