Awesome staff, hostess with the most for sure. Bar and entertainment cannot be beaten.

Property is excellent just a little tired as per the age of the premises only to be expected.

Location was great and cost was fair. It has a "back in time" charm to it. The rooms we booked were very clean and tidy and in great condition. Owner was extremely friendly and made sure the rooms were ready for an early check in. She also answered all my previsit questions. There is locked carparking which gave me piece of mind for the car.

The only thing to comment on would be the shower. Pressure was OK, but the fluctuation in temperature was inconsistent. At one point it went from warm to scolding without warning and I had to turn it off quickly to stop it. This might be the older style mixer on the wall causing this.

Good old fashioned service - staff made us feel like friends rather than valued guests. Food in bar was very nice. generous servings and nicely cooked and drained. Owners are a credit to the industry and know how to recruit, train and motivate staff. Hope to come back some time.

Perfect location as our function was at the Masonic. We were not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised by the little touches.

As expected the rooms are not very sound proof a fair bit of noise from other guests and pubs.

Awesome friendly clean comfortable place to stay. Strongly recommended. Colleen and staff amazing. Awesome place , stayed 3 nights with daughter and 2 grandchildren. Double room was so comfortable for us all. Cheers Colleen

The room is warm and cosy.

Close to Manawatu stadium

Colleen is absolutely the best hostess. We returned from a show and no food places were open. She wouldn’t hear of it and made us something to eat. The pub part is full of locals and friendly people. Spotless room and location you can’t beat. Def highly recommend. We will be back !

You will feel like you are at home. The staff is friendly and They will ask you what you need. And if you have guests coming, the staff will ask you if I might need extra things like towels, tissues, and the room is clean and comfortable for the whole family.

Function downstairs was very noisy and disruptive for upstairs guests.

Easy option close to the event I was attending. Comfortable place to sleep for two friends.

Hallway outside of room smelt of smoke, understandable given it is an older hotel, but still unpleasant.

Rooms are old but very very clean the staff are awesome and the locals and the pub are fantastic

Location was great for CBD access. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Easy to find.

Bar closed at about 8 both nights. Meant no access to watching sport on Friday or Saturday night without having to drive back into town. Lack of meals , dinner or breakfast, Only bar snacks (and the bar was shut)

The location was great for where we needed to go. The cleanliness of the room was fantastic. It is an older hotel, so expect little quirks like a tiny bathroom and no air-conditioning, a fan, and a heater are provided, though. The rooms are upstairs, and the entrance shares the same entry/exit as the function room. The chilled bottled water located in the hallway fridge was great.

Remember to switch on the power to the fridge as soon as you arrive.

Some guests were bit noisy. But they settled down by around 11 pm.

Loved the vibe and all the artwork. Room we stayed in was exceptionally clean. Small but very functional for 2 peaple. Bed was softer than we like but slept really well. There was a bar and tab on the ground floor which we thought we may be able to hear. But we couldnt hear antyhing from down stairs. Andy was great even pointing out that we could park around the back and there was a security gate.

The frontage is a bit intimidating but it is an absolute gem. We didn't see any ground floor rooms and you may need to check with Andy if you need mobility access. What we saw was stair access front and back.

Surprised by the quality of the room. Old hotel but upgraded rooms. Good value

Staffs are so kind. They introduce a lots of place for us. 100% gonna come again.

When we needed extra bed unexpectedly, we were immediately accomodated at very little extra cost.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a lovely man i think his name was Murray (apologies if incorrect) Our room was ungraded for free which was nice suprise. The room was very clean and cosy/comfortable. Great value for money and just a close walk to town. Thanks alot and much appreciated.

Only this was shower temperature and pressure wasn’t that great but we understand it’s an old building. Did the job though.

Clean, central hotel with kitchen (no hot plate) but everything else you need. Room cleaned daily and a lovely woman runs the hotel. Excellent room rate. Hotel is in Main Street, a short walk to restaurants and Palmy Conference Centre and further short walk to the main square. Excellent for a woman staying on her own, free secure parking, another short walk in the other direction to the New World supermarket. Please note this Hotel has been there for many years, so is not a modern building I enjoyed my 8 night stay and it has a good size bathroom with a large wardrobe.
