The room was really cool and it was about a 5 min walk to line 2. The room is well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Overall staff were lovely.

When I arrived my Alipay was not working, I had asked for an ATM, but one of the staff members insisted I change my cash with him, only to discover there is an item in the lobby. Did not appreciate the dishonesty.

十年前住过印象不错，但是这次入住感觉设施明显老旧。去游泳池更衣室卫生情况有待提升。预订的家庭房结果就是大床房加了临时的床，加床床垫很不舒服，孩子睡得不好。价格比大床房加床却高，这点有点不合理。

Non è da Sofitel, grande delusione, pochissima disponibilità sopratutto al banco concierge, che ci sia o meno non cambia nulla. Non esiste la ristorazione a pranzo né a cena . No comment, certo che non lo consiglio, credo vada bene solo per la gente locale....

Pool and spa area look like 3 star hotel, but that is a common thing in China. Breakfast was average, expected more from a 5 star hotel.

Service agréable je recommande … bien qu’il ne soit pas dans le quartier de voyageur sa situation est au contraire appréciable car il est à qq pas du métro et il permet de voir toute la ville sans trop d effort. Par ailleurs la qualité du service et du petit déjeuné est très bien ce qui permet d avoir un hôtel de haute qualité avec une bonne situation. Pour les personnes souhaitant visiter avec un très bon service hôtelier alors c est idéal ! Haute gamme avec accès à tous les sites facilement même le soir… nous prenions le métro matin comme soir en famille sans aucun prob et la ligne est celle qui permet l accès à tous les sites et centres commerciaux … et d’un calme !!!!

We booked this hotel after staying at the Legendale for two nights. The Sofitel is clearly better but also a different style (modern instead on rustic). We were already happy having booked a large family room with a large sofa bed and a King for a family with a 21 year old son as co-traveler. We then got upgraded to an even larger, very spacious room on floor 21 with a very nice view. The hotel is a little less central than for example the Legendale but we found this minor because distances in Beijing are so big and DiDis so affordable that one takes cabs most of the time. Thank you Aria for the friendly welcome.

I had an excellent stay experience. The hotel boasts a prime location, and the front desk handled my check-in efficiently. Special thanks go to Dream from the telephone service center, who offered extremely warm service. Every time I called with requests or questions, he responded and gave me clear solutions right away. Highly recommended!And ella do the check out very quickly and professional.

Good location, good design, staff generally helpful

Overall, I was unfortunately quite disappointed with the experience. I found it very surprising that in a five-star international hotel, the level of English spoken by the staff was extremely limited. There were only one or two staff members with whom I was able to communicate properly, which made even basic requests quite difficult. In addition, the cleanliness of the hotel did not meet the standard I would expect from a hotel of this category. In several areas, the hotel did not seem to be properly cleaned, which was disappointing for a five-star property. Another major issue for me was the handling of dietary requirements. I tried to request gluten-free meals in the hotel restaurant, but this could not be properly provided. In my opinion, this is unacceptable nowadays in an international five-star hotel, especially as food allergies and intolerances are common and should be taken seriously. At breakfast, some items were labelled as gluten-free, but they were clearly not suitable for someone with coeliac disease. For example, sausages and bacon were placed directly on bread, which means they were contaminated with gluten and therefore could not be considered gluten-free. This is a serious issue, as incorrect labelling can create a real health risk for guests with dietary restrictions.

The staff went above and beyond, remembering my preferences and greeting me warmly each day. The bed was heavenly, ensuring deep sleep after busy meetings. I also loved the art deco touches throughout the hotel. Dining at the restaurant was a culinary journey, with authentic Beijing duck and delicate French pastries. The central location made exploring convenient. An outstanding stay that feels truly premium. I will definitely return on my next trip to Beijing. Highly recommended!

A very good experience. The front desk staff were very friendly and polite. Manager Leo helped us a lot throughout the process. I especially want to thank him. The concierge department was also excellent. They helped us with our luggage, assisted us in booking a car to go to the Great Wall, and arranged a great itinerary. Thank you very much. I went to Beijing for a company event and met Leo from the front office department. He was very talkative and helped me a lot. The hotel pool was beautiful, just the style I like. The lobby was also gorgeous, and the front desk staff were very warm and welcoming. It was truly a perfect trip.

Awesome!! The overall experience was top-notch. I really loved this hotel — the dark-themed design, the front desk service exceeded expectations, and Manager Leo was incredibly helpful. 两天的行程，第二晚选择了市区索菲特，第一晚在环球住的，索菲特房间很大，但是没有环球新，不过整体还挺好的，地铁也近，附近也有吃的，一开始遇到问题，栗经理积极处理帮我们换了房间，还送了水果，整体服务意识很强，下次的话还会选择这里，

每年都来北京去一趟环球，前年偶然住到了索菲特，因为遇到问题添加了leo的微信，这两年过来都会提前联系他帮我们安排，今年也一样安排的很好，已经是北京必选，房间够大，一家人住不拥挤，唯一问题就是没有投屏不是很方便，其他都很好，地铁几分钟走路就能到！

Sofitel stands for elegance, joie de vivre, ambiance, hospitality and even the Sofitel scent (18 proven stays in the past 8 years in 15 different Sofitel properties). As an ALL platinum member, I saw none of that during my stay. From the moment we entered the hotel, it was gloomy, no smile, no service and no ambience...plus a RMB300 swimming cap mandatory for entering the pool (who think of bringing a cap on holidays??). The room are nice, but not fully functioning. Front desk help is inexistent. I should have focused more on the negative reviews of the hotel, some being pretty much to the point and echoing my experience. It felt like a local company had taken over the management of the hotel, without considering what Sofitel stands for.

Amazing Hotel and well worth the price. Great convenient distance to anywhere downtown - quick Didi (taxi - but very cheap) to anywhere in Beijing. Superb breakfast with an outstanding array of a variety of choices from Chinese breakfast items ( such as the must have Tea Eggs etc) to western style continental breakfast items and luxurious coffees. Superb pillows and super comfy bed and pool too. Space if needed for meetings an very big spacious rooms. All a bargain when compared to other hotels. Very clean and super friendly staff. Breakfast staff will always help you get a box filled if you have an early tour. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Thank you Sofitel Beijing. We are staying here at the moment with my 9 yr old son and he is loving it.

Very poor experience. Should have trusted the negative review. At most 3 stars hotel. The room was old which is not really a problem if it is maintained well. But this is not the case, bed was sunken, thermostat was so warm causing the room 27 deg C. Asked for fan, they said all fans were sent out so no more available. As an elite Accor Plus member, this is really falling short of the experience and standard.

Location is nearby everything to do in Beijing . Service recovery was great when dealing with my feedback on warm rooms due to no aircon during winter. Cleaning was great

I want to express my gratitude to Ms Sophia Huang (王丽娜）for her excellent service making my business trip a memorable one. The room is clean and with spectacular views, spacious and modern. It’s not far from Tai Koo Li, a major shopping centre with lots of restaurants and shops. Some nice local restaurants nearby as well. All in all, a great choice!

I should have read the reviews beforehand. This Sofitel is definitely the worst Sofitel I've ever been to. Very young, overworked and also sick staff where no one really spoke English. The rooms all smelt of stale and cold smoke, the hotel as a whole is completely run down. The stairs to the breakfast room because it rained in there. There was only one umbrella per room. There were more umbrellas at reception, but not enough for our group. Sofitel is not doing itself any favours as a brand by leaving such hotels in the chain, as it damages the brand as such. There are many better alternatives in this price category in Beijing.

We stayed at Sofitel Beijing Central for 4 nights, we had the Luxury Room with Club access meaning we had breakfast, afternoon drinks and happy hour (a buffet and drinks). The room itself was great, really comfortable and spacious with a great bath tub. As for location this was also great taking around 20 minutes in a taxi to get to the Forbidden City and 30 minutes to Beijing Nan or Beijing Xi railway stations. I really think this hotel is an excellent choice for your Beijing stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is nice and the staff are kind, always trying to help, but communication can be difficult since very few of them speak english. Compared to Shanghai, it was noticeable that much less english is spoken in the city. Location is not the most convenien: going to the Forbidden City or joining a Great Wall tour always required taking a taxi. One thing to note is that the hotel feels a bit less organized than others I’ve stayed in. For example, during our stay the city went into a sort of lockdown due to rehearsals for the Chinese military parade, but the hotel gave no prior notice and reception did not provide clear answers. We even had a guard on our very floor and none one told us. Overall, friendly service but with room for improvement in organization and communication.

The hotel is a bit dated and location wise not as convenient as others which have connecting malls, with the same price range. Can see torn wall papers and scratched bed frame. The round sofa was far from comfortable.

It was my first time back in Beijing after more than two decades, and Sofitel made it extremely comfortable. A free room upgrade to a higher floor, great room (with Lanvin amenities), friendly staff and very well stocked gym with techno gym equipment, I was set for a great stay. However a couple of things to note, 1. while it is within walking distance from the metro station, there wasn't much in the area. 2. Google maps doesn't work in China, so finding the hotel using Google maps can be slightly tricky because the hotel's signage is quite low key. 3. From a safety perspective, I left weights that didn't have a proper storage spot on the floor. However, a gym staff who came by to tidy up the gym moved it to any open spot on the rack, and told me to stack it. While I followed the ask, I wouldn't recommend it as it has a higher risk of falling and landing on someone's feet. Also, having weights randomly placed on the rack makes it look really messy.
