It’s a beautiful property , it does not seem Like a hotel but feels like you are doing a homestay which it is , with all the privacy that comes with a hotel . Interiors are plush and outdoors are beautifully maintained The gracious host and hostess are kind enough to grace us with their conversations which really help you absorb the history of not only this 100 yr mansion but also of Jodhpurs royal family lineage . Last but not the least is the hospitality of the staff - absolutely heart warming humility and their penchant for your care An amazing time - looking for reasons to come back !

Ratan Vilas is a gem of a boutique heritage property in Jodhpur. The 100-year-old mansion is beautifully maintained with quiet courtyards, lush gardens, and a wonderful swimming pool. The staff provides world-class, attentive hospitality, the rooms are spacious and immaculate, and the food served in the evening courtyard is fantastic. It felt like a true home away from home—10/10 recommend! A special mention must go to the host family, particularly the wonderful owner who also oversees HR. We had a lovely, long conversation with her and were thoroughly impressed by her elegance, maturity, and thoughtful perspectives across a wide range of topics. Engaging in such genuine, personal conversations truly made our stay feel special and highlighted the exceptional warmth of their hospitality.

Absolutamente nada.

Staying at the heritage hotel Ratan Vilas was a privilege, like staying with family friends from a past time. The layout of the hotel is totally intact, with large, traditionally-furnished rooms opening onto the charming women's quarter courtyards, while delicious meals are served out on a terrace by a charming garden set in the hotel's impressive period architecture. Breakfast was delicious, with a variety of western and Indian dishes, but what made it so special was the impeccable service, ready to whip up an preference at a moment's notice. The same goes for the reception staff, especially helpful and super-efficient Yukti! However what made our stay extra special was the welcome given by the great-grandson of Maharaj Ratan Singhji, Brijraj Singh, his wife Namrata Singh, and their daughter Darshyamini. The guests' lounge is the family sitting-room, full of family photos and silver, and getting to know the family history through our charming hosts was what made it most special! There might be grander and more luxurious hotels in Jodphur, but you surely won't find one more charming and authentic.

Wonderful location with professional and very friendly staff

Struttura situata in un palazzo storico circondato da un bellissimo giardino. Il posto è davvero curato e accogliente, la stanza spaziosa e pulitissima. Posizione un po’ defilata ma meglio così. Abbiamo cenato nel ristorante dell albergo ed è davvero di buon livello. Staff gentile e disponibile.

Filtrava luce in camera , per cui per chi ha il sonno leggero è un problema. Tantissime mosche in giardino che non ci hanno fatto godere pienamente del relax in piscina. La colazione dolce è davvero limitata.

Beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds with a large pool. Like an oasis away from the busy streets of Jodhpur. The staff were attentive and both the breakfast and dinner were very good. The owners were welcoming and told us the history of the place. We loved the tortoise wandering around and the many birds (and bats😊) that you could watch as you lay by the pool or had a drink outside. Every area of the hotel was very clean and kept to a high standard.

Few places live up to expectations but Ratan Vilas is the exception. This is a truly exceptional hotel in all respects. The food is excellent but the staff and superb and very kind. Even Otto the hous tortoise went the extra mile to entertain us

Such a beautiful place to stay. We had a ground floor pool facing suite which was perfect. The food at the restaurant was great and sitting outside felt very peaceful despite a road not far away. It felt very intimate and we loved it so much we have booked to stay again.

Phenomenal! Staff amazing, especially I believe it was Harish, so friendly and welcoming I cannot believe. Room, cleanliness, facilities, swimming pool all perfect. Breakfast super, I was worried there was too much selection 😀 My biggest regret is that we only had 1 night in Jodhpur to stay here, it was too short.

This hotel has mastered hospitality to such a degree that the owners should be reviewing me, not the other way around. I travel a lot, and as the world's hotel standards, especially at the five star level have steadily declined, treating visitors more like commodities than guests, Ratan Vilas stands in stark contrast. Nothing feels packaged or designed to create an impression that is not backed up with substance. Everything is genuine and comes from the heart and as a guest you feel it. This hotel has been run by a family for generations, it has personality and soul, and it is place you simply want to be.

I spent two nights at the Ratan Vilas Hotel in Jodhpur, as part of a private tour of Rajasthan. It was certainly the best hotel experience while in India, a compliment to Brijrat and his family, who own this wonderful property, and manage it with warmth and high standards. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and quiet. The food offerings were excellent, and many suited my preferences for non-spicy items. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. Most importantly, the staff is extremely professional, always there to assist, and with good English skills. It was a great base to explore the sights of Jodhpur, and I only wish that I could have spent more time there.

Ratan Vilas has been one of our favourite places that we have stayed at, anywhere in the world. It is a beautiful, serene and historic property that is meticulously maintained and loved by the owners. The entire staff are warm and friend and create a wonderful experience to compliment the amazing ambience of the hotel. We rarely eat 'on property' when we are on vacation, but the delicious food and service on offer at Ratan Vilas seduced us into multiple visits to the restaurant. The lovely owners are so immersed in this property and mingle freely with the guests and we greatly enjoyed our conversations with them and listening to the beautiful stories of their life at this oasis of calm. It has been a privilege.

I spent 5 nights at Ratan Vilas and highly recommend this beautiful place. The host and the staff made our stay very comfortable. The rooms are excellent. Cleanliness tops the list. Food is great. Breakfast was a well thought wide spread. Every member of the staff was very humble and well trained. Special thanks to the host for personally attending to our needs. Absolutely nothing

The property is an attractive sandstone art deco period structure just off the main strip of a busy Jodphur. The beautiful bedrooms are clean and well appointed and bathroom with deep set granate bath a luxury to enjoy. Dinner with live music under the stars was delicious and lovely. Thanks to the staff for a great 2 night stay.

The breakfast is okay but not memorable. The pool like most hotels is not in step with a busy tourists schedule (early start to avoid the heat of mid day) and only opens at 8am (cleaning it before) so we could only use it in the evening.

Set back from the main road and a short tul tuk ride from the heart of the old town Ratan Villas is peaceful base to explore Jodphur from. The architecture is stunning and oozes history and the rooms and gardens immaculately looked after. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was very good and the live music on the days we stayed provided by a particularly accomplished traditional musician.

Delicious breakfasts and a very good menu for evening meals which were excellent. The rooms were spacious as was the en suite which had everything you could want. I would thoroughly recommend this special hotel.

There are not enough adjectives to describe how wonderful this hotel is. It exceeded our expectations in every way. It is worth coming to Jodhpur just to stay in this hotel….. and the food is delicious. If you stay here you will be treated like a Maharajah!

The villa is very nice and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The garden and pool are very nice for afternoon and dinner, with nice music playing in background. Not far from the major sites but a very nice place to return to after visiting monuments.

The hotel is well set back from a busy road and is very peaceful. The gardens at the front are lovely and the old family mansion is impressive. We had a pool facing room. This is a nice upgrade as you can easily access the pool. The pool is lovely. Surrounded by walls covered in flowering bougainvillea, it’s very pretty. There aren’t a huge number of loungers but we never had any trouble getting one. The pool is quiet during the day as most guests are out and about exploring Jodhpur. There is a lovely terrace restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s very nicely furnished and the staff are charming. We had two good dinners there. We had breakfast inside as the mornings were quite chilly in February. The food at dinner was delicious. We had one chicken curry, one vegetable curry and rice and it was masses for two. They have delicious mini pyramid shaped poppadums which appeared with pre dinner drinks. Gin and tonics were very nicely served, nice glass, lemon, ice cubes in a bucket, individual tins of tonic which were ice cold. I like this sort of attention to detail! Our bedroom was slightly dated but well furnished and had everything we needed and plenty of space. The bed was comfortable. They brought me an ironing board and iron immediately on request. Very nice, helpful staff all round. The only negative was the bathroom, it was absolutely horrible! It was all in dark grey marble. It was like a mortuary. The shower tray was set below the floor level so you had to step down into it. It was quite deep and huge! Unnecessarily so, you could have got 6 people in that shower! It just wasn’t nice. Despite the bathroom we really liked this hotel, it has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the staff are lovely. Foods good too!

We have been travelling from New Delhi and the Haveli and hotels have been getting better and better this place was excellent room was large and clean and the shower was perfect The breakfast had a wide selection of fruits indian continental options absolutely a great experience We had an evening meal there as well which was excellent quality and value for money The staff were amazing too The swimming pool and grounds were perfect and towels supplied. We stayed here for two days on our way round Rajasthans golden triangle. This is an amazing place to visit and stay. It has a modern opulence with a vintage history as it used to be a family home that they turned into a hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is fantastic, we met and chatted to the owner and his wife who were just charming. They explained how they chained their home into a hotel and there plans for the future. We would definitely come back.

Top notch hospitality paired with majestic feels!! I was here with my wife on our first wedding anniversary. Ratan Vilas stands out in terms of every aspect - the royal and vintage aesthetics, vibrant colours, quaint and serene ambience, impeccably neat and tidy, a very satisfying mix of luxury and relaxation. The room was spacious and housed all essentials. The bathroom was like another big room and well maintained. The compound feels straight out of a shoot location and all your photos will come out superb in any corner you choose. Special thanks to the staff - Mr. Hari (or Harish), Jaipal to name a few, along with their team, made our anniversary special by arranging for a cake and candlelight setup with flowers. Very warm and friendly. Overall a very memorable experience at this one of a kind property in Jodhpur.

Eine wunderschöne Atmosphäre in einem alten hochherrschaftlichen Wohnpalast. Tolles, aufmerksames Personal. Gutes, wenn auch nicht überragendes Frühstück. Ein schönes klassisches Zimmer, sehr komfortabel. Die komplette Anlage mit den Innenhöfen hat ein tolles authentisches Flair und auch der Pool ist schön groß und toll angelegt.

Das Restaurant außen hat eine schöne Atmosphäre, innen etwas kühl und langweilig.

PERFECTION! Ratan Vilas is absolutely the most divine and magical place I think I have ever stayed anywhere in the world and I've traveled a lot! Where to begin? From the moment you enter the property, you feel like you are stepping back in time and are treated like royalty. Considering this was the Maharaja's home, and now being run by the 4th generation of the Maharaja you feel like they are treating you as if you are a part of the royal family. The immaculate grounds are so stunning...from the structure itself, to the restored antiques, to the beautifully upholstered chairs, to the sweet benches, to the gorgeous flower arrangements and finally to the serene pool. The entire hotel and grounds are classy and charming, elegant and luxurious as well as what I think is most impressive about Ratan, is they are pulling all of this off while still being understated and unpretentious. Incredible! It really feels like you are stepping back in time to a regal and royal time. My daughter and I loved it so much we spent an entire day just at the property. We didn't want to leave! Our beautiful room was large and stylishly decorated and could not have been cleaner. I loved the indigo block printed window treatments, the blue upholstered chairs in the sitting area, the throw pillows on the bed and the bed runners (we had twin beds). Everything was so divinely decorated. The room is stocked with everything you could possibly need. You can tell they are attentive to every single detail in the rooms and on the property. Also worth mentioning since this is India, our room was super quiet! What makes this place extra extra special is the entire staff were all so kind, attentive and helpful. They are hospitable with a capital H! From the warm welcome, to breakfast, to anywhere on the property, we were always greeted with a warm smile. I didn’t catch all their names but did speak with Harish who also wanted to ensure we had a perfect stay (WE DID!). We met the owners (husband and wife) and they were both so gracious. It feels like they are welcoming you into their home which in essence they are because they live on the property. I will be coming back if for no other reason than to just stay at Ratan Vilas. Really my favorite hotel in the world. Thank you to the wonderful staff and owners for creating such a magical place and granting us such a memorable experience. Your place will forever be in our hearts. 🙏🏼

We had a very nice stay. The dinner was Indian style and full of flavor, truly delicious and beautifully prepared. The pool area looked lovely and inviting, even though we didn’t take a dip this time. Breakfast was served buffet-style with a good variety of both continental and Indian options, which we really appreciated. A very pleasant experience overall.

Absolutely lovely Villas. Staff were so friendly and accommodation. There were local shops nearby so you could go out for a walk safely. Food was excellent both dinner and breakfast. Quite noisy at night but then if you are near shops etc that is what you get with the local transport and animals, especially dogs.

A grand hotel with well appointed rooms and good customer service. At check in and check out we had personal attention from a member of the concierge and that was really appreciated. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, plush bedding and a clean and modern bathroom with a bath. Overall a good feel with the ambience and little touches of history and tradition across the hotel. However the food options at dinner were limited (we were hoping for something special on Xmas day) and the breakfast was average I.e., same as any other hotel would offer. Hence the rating of good as opposed to excellent as expectations of an exceptional dinner from a heritage hotel were not met.
