I stayed in a room with a private pool and I loved this little bubble of calm. I also appreciated the welcome and kindness of the staff, I should have taken a second night to enjoy the room and Gili Meno even more…

Only downside, the curtains are not dark enough so in the morning the sunlight wakes up

La posizione è ideale! A due passi dal mare dove troverete i lettini a vostra disposizione e dove potrete rilassarvi all’ ombra degli alberi riempiendovi gli occhi di azzurro! La struttura è curata e le stanze sia quelle col giardino che quelle con la piscina garantiscono la privacy. Camere spaziose e pulitissime. Bagno ampio e doccia con acqua dolce! Cosa rara sull’isola! Ambiente molto rilassante. I ragazzi della reception gentilissimi e sempre pronti ad aiutarvi per rendere il vostro soggiorno ancora più speciale! Colazione ottima! Pancakes squisiti! Anche il ristorante funziona bene, ma se vorrete provare anche altri locali, ne troverete diversi nelle vicinanze! Concludendo… Noi ci siamo trovati benissimo e ci è piaciuta tanto la cura di tanti piccoli dettagli e l’armonia con lo spirito dell’isola. Super consigliato!!!

Das Personal, vor allem Ali, war sehr freundlich und immer erreichbar. Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker und frisch. Die Zimmer waren mit Klimaanlage, einem Außen-Wasserhahn zum Füße waschen und großem Badezimmer ausgestattet. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Auch die Lage ist perfekt, es liegt direkt am Strand, nicht mal eine Minute Fußweg und auch mehrere Restaurants sind direkt in der Nähe. Was außerdem toll war, waren private Sonnenliegen am Strand nur für die Hotelgäste.

Staff were great and very welcoming. There was a problem with the extra bed but there was great communication before we arrived and they were able to offer a good solution. The room was comfortable and the outside space and pool was a good size

Unfortunately the location was not on the beach as suggested on booking.com. The hotel had allocated sunbeds on the beach but they had been taken by others who were not staying at the hotel. Also breakfast is very basic which would be ok if that was reflected in the room rate.

The resort has only 4 Villas, but the Manager Mr. Nicola plans to extend the resort( pool, and few more Villas). The Villas are totally private, what we liked very much. There is a garden in front of the terrace and a private entrance door. The whole resort area is full of plants and coconut trees and looks very nice. Villa Samalas is one of only a few resorts on Gili Meno, which have sweet water in the bathrooms shower !! The beach is very close and there are sunbeds for the guests of Villa Samalas. Mr. Nicola and his team take care of their guests very good! There is no problem, they couldn`t solve it. We enjoy the time here very much!!

Amazing atmosphere, awesome staff, delicious food! Exceptionally clean with the bonus of a freshwater shower after a day on the beach. Great location as well on the northern end of the island. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great location, close to the beach, with wonderful walks along laneways to the most interesting interior....warungs, shops, farms, animals....so good! Fabulous diving nearby. Great staff. Good clean restaurant, and great warungs nearby. Fabulous island, and with horse carts and electric bikes only. Can be an exhilarating speedboat ride to get there.

Toto ubytování jsme navštívili již podruhé. Pokoje jsou velké, postel pohodlná, koupelna se sprchou a toaletou evropského typu. Je to takový skrytý kousek ráje, blízko pláže, s vlastními lehátky. Restaurace je italského typu, ale vaří zde i domácí kuchyň, a vaří moc dobře. Obsluha a personál jsou úžasní lidé, milí, pracovití, splní každé přání. Vřele doporučuji. Určitě se vrátíme.

Ohne zu überschwänglich zu klingen, aber die Unterkunft ist ein absoluter Traum! Nicht nur die Villa selbst ist top ausgestattet, auch das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Wir wurden direkt herzlich empfangen und fühlten uns in dieser Unterkunft direkt wie zu Hause - kein Spaß! Wir haben die Tür zur Villa aufgemacht und haben direkt gewusst, dass wir hier einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt haben werden. Die Bilder auf Booking sind älter und nicht mehr ganz aktuell, daher war die Überraschung groß als wir die sehr gepflegte Anlage gesehen haben. Besonders lieben Dank an Sam, Ali, Miss und natürlich den Rest des Personals sowie auch an den Besitzer selbst, der ebenfalls vor Ort war. Sie haben uns immer mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht geholfen und unseren Aufenthalt damit unvergesslich gemacht. Kurz zur Villa: Man hat einen Zaun rund um einen kleinen Vorgarten für maximale Privatsphäre, eine kleine Terrasse und ein großzügiges Schlafzimmer und sehr schönes Bad. Und für uns der größte Pluspunkt: Süßwasser. Auf der Insel gibt es aktuell keine Süßwasserleitung, daher werden die meisten Unterkünfte mit Salzwasser betrieben. Das ist auf Dauer einfach nicht so super. Die Lage der Villa ist circa 15 Minuten zu Fuß vom Hafen entfernt. Man kann aber auch problemlos per Beach Landing mit einem kleinen Boot anreisen oder die Nachbarinseln besuchen. Wer rund um die Gili-Inseln Schildkröten sehen möchte, ist meiner Meinung nach hier am besten aufgehoben. In einer Minute seid ihr am schönen Strand, könnt mit dem Schnorchel direkt ins Wasser und habt eine 100% Garantie, Schildkröten zu sehen. Man muss nur ein wenig auf die Gezeiten achten und eher bei höherem Wasser starten, damit man keine Korallen beschädigt. Zum Abschluss bleibt nur noch, dass auch das Restaurant keine Wünsche offen lässt. Der Kaffee ist super, das Frühstück lecker und abends kann man es sich hier auch richtig gutgehen lassen.

The team was so friendly and sweet. The room was clean, the ac worked well and there was a fridge. To avoid plastic, we asked them to refill our water bottles.

Sadly, the bed was not very comfortable and had an uneven surface. The duvet cover was the wrong size so we had to deal with velcro on one side. There were many design decisions that baffled me: the bathroom is huge but the shower is a narrow rectangle with two openings which shoot water onto the bathroom floor, and you keep touching the walls of the shower which is unpleasant. Breakfast was odd. The coffee and fruit were fresh and good, but the pancakes tasted too much like vanilla cake. I'd suggest simply making local style pancakes, which are delicious. Two of the walls are floor to ceiling glass which sounds nice but isn't practical. The bathroom blinds need to be down the whole day or else people see right in. The bedroom has a glass sliding door that is heavy to open and close and tricky to lock. Again, the simple solution of narrow doors would have worked better. The room is surrounded by a cane fence to give it a private feeling but I felt a bit couped in. I think the plan is to build individual plunge pools, but I can just see that complicating an already tricky operation. In general, I wish tourists would be better educated about the reality of the islands. Gili Meno has no source of sweet water so they get water in by boat. The main photo should be swapped because the place is a 5 minute walk to the beach and not on the beach as the photo of the lounge chairs suggests.

Villa Samalas is amazing!!! We absolutely enjoyed our stay, the morning breakfast is perfect with fruits, juice, coffee and a selection of dishes like omelette, a great kickstart to the day! The room is comfortable and very clean, and with beautiful little details everywhere. The gardens of the complex are beautiful and calm. The location is ideal, just a few meters secluded from the beach so you don't get the tourists crossing by your window. We have been quite a few times to Gili Meno and wouldn't stay anywhere else on the island. Thank you for receiving us so nicely always:)

The location was perfect, it was very close to beach but very quiet as well. The room and the bathroom were spacious and clean. The breakfast was really good and fresh. The staff was really nice and smiling all the time. Thank you!🤍

Det var vores 4. gang på Gili Meno og det var første gang vi boede her og stedet var så skønt, at vi forlængede vores ophold, så opholdet blev ca. 20 dage. Til morgenmad var der et stort udvalg og det var alt sammen lækkert. Både værelse og badeværelse var store. De fleste steder på Gili Meno er vandet salt, men her var der ferskvand i hanerne, så det var skønt at der var en mulighed for at skylle saltvandet af, når man havde været ude at bade. Der er en lille terrasse og privat have, som man kan slappe af i. Et forslag kunne være, at der blev sat en stor fan op på terrassen, så vinden holdt myg væk, samt man kunne blive kølet lidt ned. Ali og Sam gjorde alt for at vi skulle have det godt på vores ophold. Alt personalet var meget søde og hjælpsomme. Rengøringen var helt i top, samt det gik hurtigt med at få vores vasketøj ordnet. Da vi efterspurgte leje af cykler, gik der kun meget kort tid, så stod der 2 flotte cykler til os. Det er rart, at personalet snakker engelsk. Stedet ligger meget tæt på stranden, hvor der er reserveret liggestole til hele opholdet. Hvis vi kommer tilbage til Gili Meno, så bliver det helt sikkert her vi skal bo igen.

El hotel es como en las fotos ,la ubicación es perfecta (para nosotros la mejor playa de meno) el personal es muy amable y atento en todo momento, nos ayudaron con los traslados ,alquiler de bicicletas, snorkel y reserva de buceo y ha ido todo muy bien. Small detached place, good privacy. About 50m back from the beach. Aircon good, bed and pillows comfy. Bathroom looked pretty good. Ideal part of the island.

I forgot to tell the staff....but flushing the toilet was with dirty grey water that smelled. The facilities aren't amazing, breakfast, etc. (but the Warung restaurant opposite is very good). The beach is great but be aware that to the east of the property (maybe 100 or 200 metres away) there is a lot of construction work on and near the beach.

Villa Samalas bestaat uit losse units. Een eigen plek, mooi en gezellig ingericht met een groot bed, een koelkast en waterkoker. Een ruime badkamer met een heerlijke douche en een tuintje met een zitje! De lokatie is perfect! Als je het straatje uit loopt en de hoek omloopt sta je op het strand. Daar staan een aantal strandbedden waar je gebruik van kunt maken. Ook kun je op het strand snorkels huren en is er een plek om wat te eten. Het koraal ligt dicht aan het strand dus waterschoenen zijn een must. En je hoeft niet ver te zwemmen om prachtige vissen te zien. Omdat wij de dag erna vroeg de boot moesten halen kregen we een prima verzorgd ontbijtje mee. Aan de overkant van Villa Samalas is een kleine Warung waar we heerlijk gegeten hebben.

Villa Samalas is about a 20–25 minute walk from the harbor. After a two-hour boat ride and arriving under the midday sun with heavy backpacks, it would have been greatly appreciated if someone from the property could have met us to assist. Additionally, there were not enough sunbeds on the beach to accommodate all guests.

Clean, private, spacious villa, and the most friendliest staff who are quick to arrange anything for you. The beach is 2 mins walk away and Villa Samalas provide beach loungers under shady trees and umbrellas. Also on the beach right next to the loungers, is a great Warung where we ate lunch and sometimes dinner at sunset.

Molto gentile il personale e decisamente top il proprietario della struttura che ci ha aiutato a trovare una soluzione di trasporto alternativa su Bali a causa della cancellazione della fast boat che avevamo prenotato. Soggiorno molto gradevole!

La struttura ha delle ottime potenzialità e può decisamente aspirare a diventare un fiore all'occhiello di Gili Meno se adeguatemente migliorata con piccoli interventi di manutenzione e maggiore investimento sul ristorante.

Friendly staff, who can organise everything you need: snorkelling straight from the beach, quick turnaround laundry, bikes to cycle to the turtle sanctuary, and even a boat to take you to another island, direct from the beach that is only 100m away. All at a fair price. Clean bright surroundings, private garden, good air con, comfortable bed, warm freshwater showers. And the absolutely brilliant Akisha Warung is directly opposite the hotel. Don't miss that. We loved this place.

We've stayed here a few times, and have always enjoyed it. The property is small and quiet, and located just two minutes walk from the beach. There is a decent local restaurant across the street, and a few more options a little bit further away. Staff are very friendly.

It might be time for the owner to splurge for some maintenance. The hot water in our cottage gave out after two minutes of use, so we moved to another cabin. But the air conditioning there was pretty much dead, so we moved back to the original one. These things can be fixed easily enough.

We chose this villa because of its proximity to the beach, and its unmatched privacy made it even more special. The entire island is peaceful and quiet, creating the perfect setting for relaxation. The food at the restaurant was delicious, adding to the overall experience. The staff were incredibly helpful, with a special shoutout to Ali. He truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. Not only did he arrange mosquito repellent for us, but he also arranged for us a snorkelling trip, which was a fantastic experience. Ali even organized a private boat trip to go the nearby island. Overall, it was an amazing experience!

In my opinion the activities offered (e.g. snorkelling trip) were overpriced and you can easily find cheaper options on the island. The restaurant did not impress us and we triend one right across the road - Akisha Warung - definitely recommend!

It is big, clean villa in very quiet location. Perfect for relaxing and being comfortable. The best snorkelling/freediving point is only 1 minute walk. It is an amazing place! I would definitely come back.

This place should not have a 9. It was clean, descent location, and staff were very nice, but it is worn down and maintenance has not been kept up. It isn’t dirty per se, but worn out is. Better term. Facilities are not as shown in the photos. Our toilet wouldn’t flush unless we used the butt hose to fill up the water tank on the toilet. We only slept here and the bed was fine. We spent our time away from here.

The lovely gents who man reception were so kind, helpful and welcoming and made us feel so at home. They even took the time with our children and were so patient and attentive. The villas are in an excellent location, just moments from the beautiful white beach. Lovely breakfast with freshly made fruit juices. We organised via the hotel the most amazing excursion snorking to see the marine life, corals and turtles, such an incredible day and a very reasonable price - Would definietly recommend 100%!

There is very little water pressure and a limited water supply, this is not the hotels fault at all but rather because of the island location and they explain this is in a very friendly manner upon arrival.

The location is perfect, only 100 meters from the sea, with the staff providing for sun beds on the beach. The bungalows are clean and spacious, very private. Airconditioning working perfectly. The breakfast was good. The staff was very helpful in providing support for any request, they organised snorkelling trip and helped us carry the luggage to another beach which was more accessible for transfer to get to.

Great location on nice quiet part of the island, just a short walk away to snorkelling points and a number of warungs. Breakfast was incredible. The staff are very doting and help you out with whatever you request. Excellent value for money. Each room is very private as well.

I loved the island for beautiful beach and sun set. All hotel staff always took care of me and very kind. I enjoyed every day talking with them. And very quiet area so I slept well. I want to come back again. Finally, thanks for Opin-san for arranging snorkeling trip.

Hadde et fantastisk opphold på dette hotellet. Det er en skjult perle, med fantastiske ansatte som hjelper en med hva enn det måtte være. Har den beste plasseriingen på øya, litt unna alle store resorter, men 1 minutt unna stranda og utsikt utover havet så langt øyet kan se. Vi leide både sykler og fikk arrangert en nydelig snorkeltur og så flere skilpadder. Det er en super koselig liten resturant (warung) rett ved stranda, så du har alt du trenger i minutters avstand fra hverandre. Hvis du ønsker ro og stillhet og total avslappning, så reiser du hit!

Unbelievable position on gili meno. Little to no wind when windy elsewhere, the right amount of sand to coral compared to rest of island and the most unreal turtle sightings right here ! The chalets thought of everything! Even the small things - Bottle opener, beach towel, laundry rack, outdoor foot tap .really friendly and helpful staff

We loved our stay here! The staff are incredibly hospitable, the included breakfast is delicious and has good options, the orange juice is *just what you need* on a hot day, the beach is just around the corner and the resort had beach chairs you can use here, the turtle beach is a few minutes walk away, lots of nice food and drink places nearby. We walked from the port cause it wasn't that far, but we took a horsey back. The shower was salt water for the first few days, but we were pre warned, and fresh water arrived after a couple of days, which they kept us updated on.

The sliding door to the room was quite difficult to open.

Property was located on a quiet street in Gili Meno, just a short walk away from the beach. The staff were amazing, they assisted in taken cushions for the day beds to the beach for us. They were super helpful and friendly and organised a private snorkelling trip for us. Cooked us amazing scrambled eggs breakfast! Can’t commend the staff enough. The room was spacious with a spacious bathroom. We had a lovely stay at Villa Samalas.

Not a property issue but the island had no fresh water when we stayed, so getting a hot shower was hard. This is normally not an issue I believe.

A bit tired - our sheet was very worn and had a hole in it, and we got some bites in bed. Our room wasn’t cleaned during our 3 night stay but when I mentioned it before checking out, staff told me cleaning is upon request; they hadn’t told us that on check in.

Wonderful private rooms, each with their own secluded garden for complete privacy. The real highlight of our stay were the staff - they were always present with a smile and keen to chat about your plans for the day and provide recommendations as needed. We will definitely stay again should we come back to Gili Meno. Thanks to Ali, Opin and Iwan. The breakfast was simple but delicious and more than enough. The rooms were very clean, comfortable bed and great shower and very quiet throughout the night. One of our best stays while in Indonesia.

We loved staying at Samala! The villas were spacious and well thought out. The included breakfast was very generous and tasty. The staff were helpful and there was good cleaning service. We ended up extending our stay because we enjoyed Gili Meno so much. Our only complaint is the water situation. While we were there there was no fresh water from the taps. They informed us that it was an island wide problem at the beginning of our stay so we were informed and okay with it. However, this also meant that there was no hot water, and throughout our stay the water went out completely multiple times. The staff were always quick to respond to this issue but it became troublesome as the trip went on. We understand that the water shortage is a resource problem not a hotel problem but it became bothersome. Additionally, we were not satisfied with the drinking water situation. We were given two complimentary 500 ml drinking water bottles for the both of us at the beginning of our four night stay and no more the rest of the time and there was no water refill station. We understand that not every hotel has this but the problem arose in that they were selling water on the property for a large mark up compared to the rest of the island (10k at corner stores for large bottles and they were selling it for 17k). We found this strange that they were not only not providing drinking water to guests but were also selling it to us at a much higher price.

Villa Samalas exceeded our expectations. The location is amazing, the little bungalows are spacious and well equipped, and the location very close to the beach couldn't be better. Moreover, the personal is extremely friendly and we felt that they tried everything to make our stay great. There were two things that I was a bit worried about reading about them in other reviews: breakfast and internet. However, both turned out to be great. Internet was working perfectly well while we were there. Also, we really liked the included breakfast. Yes, you get exactly one juice, one hot beverage, one dish and fruits, but we always felt that it was more than enough and it was delicious.

Nothing really. Only thing you should be aware of is that you can't really shade the room from the morning sun. It will be somewhat bright even if you use the indoor curtains and outdoor shades, but that was not a problem for us.

Amazing place! With only 4 walled for privacy villas, we had great place to stay and recharge for 5 days... Designer rooms, great bed, plenty of place to pack, good wifi, minifridge and complementary water. Own, very private garden and patio. Great breakfast options. Friendly staff. In a few steps from the shore with designated sunbeds and matrasses. All excursions and trips can be booked at reception. (I found worth to get a horse cart to get from the port to the Villa as it is a 20 min walk possibly with your luggage in 30+ degrees) I hope to go back to spend more time in this oasis :)

Couple of hooks in the room and a shelf to keep shower accessories next to the shower would be good. Nothing major...

Clean and welcoming. Individual small gated bungalows set back from the beach. Lovely gentle and friendly staff.

All very good.

Breakfast was excellent and the guys running the resort were always available, always smiling, ready to help.
