i forgot my laptop charger with adapter in the room when leaving and hotel management denied they did not find it

The hotel does not provide free breakfast

If continental free breakfast was included, it may offset many of the inconvenience. Several areas are under renovation, especially the ground floor where you are required to use outside portable construction site Potacab for toilet.

Nothing really to be fair .

Beds didn't feel good. When they clean the room didn't bring any wash cloths. Only had 1 pillow and whatever that other thing was for 2 people. Over all I wouldn't stay there again and parking Is the worst I ever seen for a hotel

I liked the location, didn't feel like a bad part of the city. Room was clean and ready to be used

Staff seemed uninterested in doing their jobs. An employee I talked with over the phone would put me on hold when I asked about the shuttle service and then hang up. Another front desk employee was sleeping while I was trying to check in

Unfortunately this was a last resort booking due to other properties being fully booked after flights were cancelled There was a decent restaurant on the property The fried chicken wings were good The gentleman who drove us to the airport on the 7am shuttle in the shuttle said he could only drive us to some or other bridge where we would need to take a different shuttle to the airport I was travelling with my two children so I needed a direct transfer to the terminal I was ready to take an uber and when I informed him of this he said if I give him ‘something’ he would drive us directly to the terminal. I told him I didn’t have cash and he told me I could use some sort of cash transfer eft but I said I was from out of country He said it was fine that we should just climb in and he drove us directly to the airport terminal anyway so I was a bit confused I did not have the understanding the previous evening when I inquired at the hotel that the shuttle doesn’t actually take guests directory to the departure terminal

The facilities were clean enough but it smelled old The chairs were filthy and had burnt cigarette marks It was evident from the smell that people were smoking cannabis in the hotel on the floor that I was booked on I was moved to a different floor as a result after I let the hotel know It felt quite unsafe

The room was disappointing, pillows had cigarettes burns , size of pillows were too small , remote for TV didn't work, room need updating mo coffee maker or water.

Housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful.

Parking attendant was ruded and unhelpful. Cars parked consistently in handicap ♿️ parking spaces with "No" handicap placards/plates, Unacceptable! Front desk clerk (Sara) did not provide a "Welcome" greeting, but immediately ask for confirmation # instead of photo ID to check registration. She was not knowledgeable about the hotel amenities when asked. When checking out (5 am)of hotel the front desk clerk "never"acknowledge (Good morning, How was your stay?) me.

The only thing I liked about the hotel was the location from the comedy show, which was literally across the street. I didnt have to move my car

Upon arrival, the front desk did not greet me properly in my opinion. As a guest to a new hotel, i was given papers and just told to sign. I was not informed what I was signing for, though I did read them before signing. I had to ask if there was a security deposit. I was told to get on the elevator, but was aware that I had to scan my room key to go to my floor. Once the elevator was pulled back down, a worker scanned his and i figured it out. Once getting to the room, it was trash under AC unit, only 1 washcloth (2 guests) in the room, and the air was not working properly.

Served its purpose for my visit. Staff were polite, friendly and informative. Shuttle bus to station very helpful.

Rooms are very tired. Non residents (or what appeared to be) using kitchens for coffee machines, these individuals were not alcohol dependent but certainly either prescription or non prescription drugs and albeit I had no issues with these people our partners were afraid to use these facilities alone. Left the kitchen areas in a complete mess, even after just being cleaned in a morning. Strange that there is a restaurant but unable in a morning to provide breakfast facilities (we were aware of this prior to booking). Had to change rooms as AC was leaking all over carpet then next room had a few issues but just tiredness catching up

Historic grand hotel with an elegant old Hollywood style lobby, right on the park. very convenient location ( with free shuttle ) to EWR and Train Station for a quick ride to Manhattan. Lots of food options within a block walk. wonderful front desk staff. Secure parking for $23/ day - leave the car, take the hassle free PATH Train to Jersey City & NYC for the day.

The location was convenient, and the staff responded quickly after the incident was reported.

While I was taking a shower, part of the bathroom ceiling collapsed, and large pieces of plaster fell into the bathtub. This was a frightening experience. We immediately reported it to the front desk, but the hotel was fully booked, so no other room was available. Despite acknowledging the incident, the hotel later refused to provide any compensation or refund. This situation should never happen in a hotel room.

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable quiet room, unique historic building, great location with quick easy train service to Jersey City and NYC, good value

The parking was a little tight, the rooms did not have microwave and no coffee maker in the room

La ubicación es buena y el servicio de shuttle que tienen es muy útil y conveniente (y sin costo).

Las habitaciones se veían más grandes en las fotos. La atención de las recepcionistas es un poco deficiente y de mala gana. Te hablan como si fueras estúpido.

Staff was dismissive. I was assured weeks ahead of time that we'd most likely be able to check in 30 mins early. If not, they'd hold our luggage. When I arrived 30 mins early, she didnt even check the system, she just said we had to wait 30 mins, which we couldn't because of our event. Then, she refused to hold our luggage because "the luggage area was full", none of which was warned when I had called. When we finally checked in later in the evening, the non-smoking room they gave us reeked of cigarette smoke. I reported it and just apologized and asked what I wanted. But we were running late for our dinner event. We had to sleep with the window open all night. The smell was awful.

I stayed at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, New Jersey, on May 31, 2026, and unfortunately had a very upsetting experience. After leaving my room to visit family staying on the 10th floor, I returned to find my hotel room door open and discovered that personal items had been stolen. This incident left me feeling extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. A police report was filed regarding the incident. What was equally concerning was the response from hotel management and security. I found them to be unresponsive, dismissive, and lacking empathy regarding the situation. As a result, I did not feel secure staying in the room and was unable to sleep for the remainder of my stay. Following the incident, I sent emails to both hotel management and the corporate office seeking assistance and a response regarding my concerns. To date, I have not received a response, which has only added to my disappointment with how this matter has been handled. During discussions with hotel staff, I was left with concerns that similar incidents may have occurred previously. Guest safety should always be a top priority, and unfortunately, I did not feel safe during my stay. Based on my experience, I would urge travelers to exercise caution when booking this hotel. No guest should return to an open hotel room, discover missing personal belongings, and then feel unsupported by hotel staff. Be careful when booking this property.

No breakfast at hotel, paper thin walls if you understand what i mean, no reply to emails sent asking about airport transfer. Not sure its trying to be a budget hotel, but thats what it is. Not great, did the job, but would not stay again

My room was not ready when I was finally given my key. No one ever answered the front desk when called. Receptionist was flat and not friendly except when talking to the attractive men that were asking questions. ( I spent time in the lobby watching . The one bright spot was the wonderful service your airport shuttle driver "Sam" provided. Sam went above and beyond giving instructions of how to get around to other two addresses I needed to navigate while on my stay. I really appreciated his patience and insightfulness. Shuttle driver Sam was the BEST part of the entire stay!

No one offered the procedure to get the one cup of coffee that was complimentary the next morning. I didn't like that the movie/television segment that was being filmed shut down entrances and elevators without advance notice. I didn't appreciate that there were no at least paper cups in the room....How was I to get water in the iron? These little things mean allot when no one answers the front desk. I also asked for a late checkout from the time I made the reservation until the morning of departure. I was told it was based on availability...in the end I was granted an ONE hour extension.
