Todo en orden
Perfect location to everything. The hotel is literally a walk to Penn Station for trains straight to World Trade Center.
The bathroom was really tight and small.
The bed and room was clean. The ladies at the front desk where nice.
That I had pay 75.00 for parking. I didn't have anything else near the hotel to choose from. Also the entrance wasn't easily accessible. The resturant in the hotel, the food was way over priced for quality of the food.
Konieczny remont pokoi widac uplyw czasu, zwlaszcza w lazience, in minus brak sniadania w cenie
The location was fantastic and the staff were very nice.
The beds were not particularly comfortable. It was also a bit odd because the two beds in the room we were in had different bedding -- one had a proper comforter and one a flannel blanket. I also had trouble sleeping as the bedding seems to have been washed in a detergent that made me itch all night...I even got worried that there were bed bugs and inspected the bed with a flashlight in the middle of the night ;-P The water in the bathroom tasted and smelled as though it had been pumped directly from the Hudson. Despite these inconveniences, the location really made the hotel worth it.
Location
There was some problem with the card swiping machine because 4 different cards did not work on the machine and we had to make a cash deposit. Next day, at another hotel, cards did work properly
The hotel is extremely close to the train station so it’s easy to come in and out of nyc
I was lied to over the phone when I asked about parking. The parking garage has its own set of prices that the hotel made it seem like they can validate but arriving they said they could not. I ordered food to my room and they were not trying to accommodate me by bringing it upstairs after my delivery expressed they could not go upstairs.
Location greta for access directly to penn station and airport shuttle
Room wasn't very clean carpeting was dirty in areas including toe nail clippings
Perfect location for Penn Station or an event at the Prudential Center
Room temperature fluctuations made it tough to sleep

Clean and very accessible location. Next to Penn station and connected to a passage way that brings you right in front of the prudential center.
Parking isn’t included anymore
I always stay at this hotel when I visit New Jersey. I catch the train so it’s rather convenient.
The bathroom was very dirty. I did not like having an adjoining room. I wish they would let you know that when they give you your room. Underneath the chair in my room was food. There was someone else’s hair in the shower and on the toilet.
Our airline booked us a room here after they lost our luggage, so we weren’t expecting to stay here but were glad to have a place to sleep. The front desk staff is friendly, but not incredibly warm, helpful, or timely in their responses. The location is convenient if you’re traveling through Penn Station, but less so if you are flying through EWR. The housekeeping staff were very warm and welcoming.
Location right next to Penn station and close to the Ironbound district. The bed is comfortable.
Hotel shuttle sucks. We arrived late but still within the their working time, call the hotel no one answered so we ended up paying for uber. We are now leaving for the airport, the shuttle is supposed to leave every 30min, well it is not true, we have to find the driver and it’s past the half hour, now we have to wait for another 20min. Good thing we are not in a hurry. The housekeeping did not clean our room the first day, had to call the next day to clean, then they did not leave us any towels. Thirdly they advertise a cookie at check in, there is no cookie not that I need it but don’t advertise something you are not providing. I think this hotel is only good for the location. The restuarant is good, the drinks and food is decent and the staff is nice.
Location is great just across Newark Penn Station, rooms are spacious and staff is nice
Rooms were not as clean as I would have expected, and the furniture feel old, and the rates were quite expensive for what you get
I would rate it lower if I could. Staff wasn’t overly nice but had a bit of attitude I felt like. We didn’t hang make the mistake of thinking breakfast was included because the web page had those words on it and nothing to tap to change it. We booked it last minute on a Friday and paid double what the Saturday rate is and still no breakfast. None of that is that big a deal. With a name like Hilton I had higher expectations in a jr suite. Room 315. Furniture and carpet all had stains. They had repainted the bathtub and paint was coming off. The bathroom was like a closet for such a large room. Room overall was dirty. Ac was loud but cold. Tv was nice. This stop was after being in Spain for two months staying in alburgee along the Camino. Hilton should be ashamed. I didn’t really take the photo to show anything but at least it shows I was there. The last pic is the rate and the breakfast included that I mistakenly read as breakfast included and for what I paid it should have been. Anyway, I won’t make the mistake again.
Close to the airport. Right at a subway entrance. People inside the subway, transit police were helpful. When transit staff were in their customer help booths. It was helpful. Locals helped if they noticed me lost.
Not enough staff at the busy time. Just a few issues. Nice people almost everywhere.
Location and staff
Housekeeping could have done better. Forgot towels and forgot to clean but reception gave us another room which was great because after a long day we appreciated the new room
The location was great. Being able to walk to Penn Station through a tunnel and not having to walk outside was great
I found the staff very rude and unhelpful. In particular the bellman/security staff were extremely rude. I had 4 Amazon packages delivered and each time I asked for them the staff rolled their eyes and slammed things around demonstrating their irritation with the request. I also did not appreciate being charged $57 for breakfast for 2 for a buffet breakfast that was of the same quality that I usually get at similar properties for free. Finally, I didn’t like having to go to the front desk to use the one and only microwave on the property
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The positives: the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, housekeeping was consistently kind, and the employee who handled luggage storage downstairs was wonderful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. 1. Check-in was a mess. Earlier that afternoon, I used the chat feature to ask if my room was ready and was told that it was. When I arrived at the front desk around 5:00 p.m.—well past the posted check-in time—I was suddenly told my room wasn’t ready after all. I had a work meeting at 6:15 p.m. and needed to get settled. The trainee at the front desk was kind and genuinely tried to help, ultimately putting me in a smaller room than the one I had paid for because it was all that was available. I explained that I had already been told my room was ready, but the trainee seemed unsure how to handle the situation, and the more experienced employee repeatedly brushed him off instead of helping. I appreciated the trainee’s effort, but the overall experience was unacceptable. 2. Parking was outrageously expensive, and the customer service was worse. I booked through my employer’s travel portal for a business trip, so I had no indication that parking wasn’t included or that it would cost $70 per day. When I called the front desk to ask why parking was so expensive, the employee’s response was, “It’s on the website. You obviously didn’t read the whole page.” That level of rudeness was completely unnecessary. It was not listed on my company’s booking portal, and there was no reason to speak to a guest that way. For anyone reading this review: use SpotHero. The exact same garage cost me $36.40 per day through SpotHero instead of the hotel’s $70 rate. **3. **The airport shuttle was the final straw. This was, without question, the most frustrating part of my stay. After returning my rental car, I decided to use the complimentary hotel shuttle instead of paying for an Uber back to the hotel. I arrived at the airport shuttle pickup area at approximately 2:34 p.m. The hotel’s automated recording states that the shuttle runs every 30 minutes. By 3:25 p.m., no shuttle had arrived, so I called the hotel. That call alone took 14 minutes. The front desk employee attempted to reach the driver by radio without success before transferring me to a manager Keith or Chris—I honestly can’t remember. The manager placed me on hold for six minutes while he called the driver’s cell phone. When he returned, he told me the driver was stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic and would arrive in 15 minutes. While I waited, I checked multiple navigation apps. None showed traffic between the hotel and the airport. Every app estimated a 15-17 minute drive with clear roads. Twenty minutes later, there was still no shuttle. I called back and spoke with the same manager. This time he insisted the driver “should definitely be there.” I told him that either he was being misled or he was misleading me because the traffic explanation simply didn’t add up. I asked him to call the driver again. He initially refused and only did so after I repeatedly insisted. When he came back on the line, he suddenly said the driver was only five minutes away. At this point, I had a 4:00 p.m. virtual work meeting that I planned to take from my hotel room. Because of the shuttle delay, I missed that plan entirely and didn’t get back to my room until nearly 4:30 p.m. I asked for my complaint to be escalated to upper management and requested a follow-up. The manager didn’t even ask for my name or phone number until I prompted him by saying, “Aren’t you going to ask for my contact information?” To this day, no one has reached out. The most frustrating part wasn’t just the delay—it was the complete lack of accountability. I had to repeatedly call, demand updates, and push for answers while standing outside in extreme heat waiting for a shuttle that was advertised as a hotel amenity. In hindsight, I should have just paid for an Uber, but if a complimentary shuttle is offered as part of the hotel experience, guests should reasonably expect it to function. 4. Even simple maintenance requests were met with attitude. The bathroom light continually flickered throughout my stay. When I called to report it, I made it clear that it wasn’t urgent because I would be gone all day and maintenance could address it whenever convenient. Even with that, I was met with an irritated attitude on the phone. The light was eventually fixed, but there’s simply no reason to make a guest feel like they’re inconveniencing the staff for reporting a maintenance issue. Overall, this experience fell far below what I expect from a DoubleTree property. I’m a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member but chose this Hilton because of its convenient location connected to the train station for my work trip into New York City. That convenience wasn’t worth it. Between the disorganized check-in, the outrageous parking fees, the dysfunctional shuttle service, and the consistently rude interactions with much of the staff, I will never stay at this property again and would not recommend it to anyone. I’d rather stay farther away at a Marriott and pay for transportation than be treated this way. Hotels get busy—I understand that. But being busy is never an excuse for poor communication, dismissive attitudes, or treating paying guests like they’re a burden.
Easy access to Penn station
The staff are very rude
Great location - close to EWR Airport and good rail links to NYC
Airport shuttle was terrible! Over 1hr wait at Newark and on the way back we’ve been told it doesn’t start until 5AM, despite reassurances from the previous day that it starts at 4AM. You’re better off taking bus 62 to and from Newark!
The location is great - very close to the Penn train station - easily walkable. The free airport shuttle definitely helps a lot. The bed was comfortable. The luggage storage also helped a lot.
The towels had yellow stains on them which I indicated on the hotel survey but they responded to only my other comments and did not respond about the stains on the towels. Overall I was a bit underwhelmed for the price I paid especially given the towel stains, the dusty bedside tables and dirt on the carpets. I would have expected more for the price at $230 per night but that might just be me.
Clean tooom and confsble ,gym inside the room and bigTV
Everything was perfect
Felt unsafe at night exiting from train station, not a nice experience at all
Arrived for late check-in with three people. Room only had towels for 2, called the front desk and were told we had to wait until the next day to get any more towels. Not really what you want to hear after a full day of traveling. Ok, so get ready to crawl into bed, pull back the sheets and there is a literal drink wrapper in the sheets. So gross… they did not clean the room. Well with no shower and pure exhaustion, no choice but to lay down,,, right onto the fresh mildew smelling pillows. Total F for this hotel. The only plus so far is the location to Penn Station, which is across the street.
Most of folks were great - except one individual gave me grief about charging my phone (downstairs).
Location, Cleanliness
Price, understaff
Location directly across from Newark Penn Station was great for our particular needs, since we were wanting a simple and easy transit to the NYC Penn Station.
Parking was tricky and expensive, ended up parking nearly a mile away to avoid a $70+ parking fee. Initial entry to the hotel before I had a key card was very confusing, essentially had to follow someone else in. Elevators didn't always work, had to get help from staff to use the service elevator to get our luggage back downstairs.

Expensive parking
When we first arrived all seemed well. Tim at the guest services desk was super nice, helpful and professional. Things took a turn when we arrived into our room and the bathroom was dirty with hair all over the floor and the bathtub/ shower looked unclean. We returned to the guest services desk and Tim once again was very helpful and apologetic and assigned to another room. We were in a hurry to catch a train to New York, so we dropped our stuff off in room two and left. Upon returning some hours later, we went to use the restroom toilet but when we lifted the toilet lid there was blood left on the toilet seat! This is not acceptable at all. We called down to guest services and asked if someone could possibly come up to clean the toilet and was told by a different guest services attendant “NO”! I was taken a back by his response and restated “no”? He responded “No” again and said there is no one that can clean that you will have to change rooms. So I said we would be right down, again. When we reached room number 3 for this trip there were 2 sinks in this bathroom and all appeared to be well BUT, no! My husband was in the shower and the two sinks both began backing up. At this point I picked up the phone to call guest services again but only to let them know the situation with the sinks so hopefully they could at least have them fixed before the next guest checked in to this room but they would not answer at this point. Long story short, for the amount of money they charge per night I expect better cleanliness from a Hilton brand hotel. We frequently stay with Hilton hotels but we were extremely disappointed on this trip I’m sorry to say.
The location of the hotel is great.
But the room, the overall ambient, and the facilities are old, very old. The hotel probably needs upgrading.
We are dissatisfied and need to speak with someone. 203-228-8660 Italo Solla
It was filthy, there were homeless people sleeping in front and around our car.
The proximity to the train station and the security round the building
Limited eating options
So da localização.
It was by far the worst experience of my life!
NO HOTEL PARKING
Nothing
The front desk. Tim was very rude said my booking was canceled.by them I called booking and in in fact was not. A representative from booking called them and they refused to answer the phone, needless to say I did not stay there and took my business elsewhere.
My husband booked this trip for us but was not on it with us. Myself and two children arrived late at night and the staff refused us entry as my husband was not present. Was not willing to discuss how we rectified it just outright said unless my husband was there we wouldn’t get in. Having been travelling for over 12 hours, we were tired and hungry, we then had to go about getting the name changed on the booking, for a fee to gain entry. By this time all food places were closed and had tired and hungry children. This is not the service expected from a Hilton. Would not return and would not recommend.
Spacious room, Jack and Jill bathrooms, huge bed and tea/coffee facilities and fridge
Only one person checking in guests at the most busiest time, it took over 40 minutes to finally get room keys.
GREAT Property and location
Security deposit was not paid all back
It’s very close and connected to Newark Penn Station
It’s noisy, outdated and not very clean
Best location to hop on subway to enjoy NYC and to catch an Uber to cruise port.
Little outdated.
Location is good as very near to Penn Station
Facilities not working well. Bathtub was blocked and door to cabinet also could not close. Airport shuttle service was infrequent and staff do not handle luggage appropriately.
1. Extremely busy for World Cup event and most likely cruise people, but unfortunately Double Tree Not prepared with any trained staff. Rooms not ready long waiting lines to check in. 2. You Cannot reach the front desk via phone. AI picks up and no appropriate responses to questions and back to repeat menu. This was a Major problem trying to arrange the shuttle pick up after returning car rental and getting incorrect info from DT and trying to call FRONT DESK as my husband uses a cane and handicapped. Finally get through to a human and they tell us a different pick up location for the DT shuttle pick up .. and this is only a “one time courtesy offer.” One and a half hours waiting total just to get back to hotel. So much for “every half hour.” 3. Real human Understaffed front desk with long waiting lines and little eye contact or interest . 4. Staff Not interested upon checking out that the shower lite was burnt out or the bathroom sink is Very slow drain ready to be a problem. 5. Lobby cafe is a joke with 3 useless untrained staff and un helpful bartender who can’t help guests figure out the ridiculous printed instructions on How to Access the food items under lock and key or have prices for guests to figure out costs. Tells the guest to read. 4. I worked in the food service industry..DINING at the lobby cafe is a Joke…waiting 20 min to get a server’s attention until I get up and Ask her if they are still open? I should have realized the full tables with annoyed looks with others waiting a Long time for Pick up meals. Get seated and wait and wait and see each server does 1 thing at a time and disappears into the kitchen… no water, no eating utensils, takes the order and disappears for 35 minutes returns with food and disappears as the pasta congeals into a hard mass and my salad with protein dried out and tasteless. 5. Once upon a time this hotel chain was the Best but for 2 days I noticed the SAME lemon and lime drink set up which traditionally greet new guests as they check in… and it’s hot and crowded day…Never REFILLED the dried out clear glass dispensers nor your famous gluten free cookies are non existent. 6. I believe also that handicapped rooms are not supposed to have bathtubs as many handicapped people cannot lift their legs and the porcelain too slippery to stand safely without a mat. 7. Hampton Inn
We were traveling with 2 bicycles and the staff were very accommodating with regards to their storage while we were there.
Location
The computer system was down was checked in under a canceled reservation, which cost me about $500 more than charged me a cancellation fee
Disappointing Stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Newark Penn Station I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, there were issues that significantly impacted our experience. The elevator from the street level to the lobby/check-in area and guest rooms was out of service for our entire stay (Day 1 through Day 3). This was extremely inconvenient, especially when traveling with multiple pieces of luggage. Guests were expected to navigate around the issue, but escalators are not a practical option when carrying heavy bags. A major accessibility concern like this should have been addressed immediately or, at the very least, communicated in advance. Prior to arrival, I called the hotel and was told I could check in early. However, when I arrived at 3:30 PM, I was informed that check-in was not until 4:00 PM and that the hotel's computer systems were down. There was a line of approximately 15 families waiting in the lobby. The systems eventually began "kind of" working, and I was finally able to check in at 4:20 PM. As a Hilton Honors member, I asked about the complimentary bottled water typically offered to guests. I was told that only Gold and Diamond members receive complimentary water. When I requested to speak with a manager regarding this and other concerns, I was informed that the manager was not available. The hotel itself is in need of some TLC. The towels in our room were noticeably yellowed and appeared worn. When I asked housekeeping for replacement towels, I was told there was a towel shortage. I found that completely unacceptable for a Hilton-branded property. The one bright spot was the staff. Everyone I interacted with was polite, friendly, and did their best to help despite the challenges they were facing. Unfortunately, between the broken elevator, delayed check-in, lack of management availability, towel shortage, and overall maintenance issues, this stay did not meet my expectations. I hope management addresses these concerns, as the location near Newark Penn Station is very convenient and the staff deserve better support.

Starts with check in is at 4 . I sat in what would be poorly described as a lobby , old run down small . For two hrs . Not one room became available . Then at 4 pm Lo and behold rooms are open . The room was poorly cleaned run down and in need of a refurb . But they have a no cancellation on day of . Run from this property like the plague
Very big and specious room.
Stuff attitude: check-in, check-out, security downstairs with an attitude, and laziness . Rooms very outdated, zero design up to 2026. Poor amenities in the room. for 300+ euro per night it's a rip-off.

Hotel was average with ageing rooms and facilities. Location was convenient near the Newark Penn station with direct PATH trains to New York and Amtrak trains to the northeast cities. Airport shuttle was efficient leaving every 30min.
