Hyatt Place Montreal - Downtown

To be honest, there was nothing special but I’m on a business trip and it’s fine but the price is where not worthwhile

I asked for a late checkout and wanted to pay for it explaining that I’m overseas traveling with a late flight , two times I asked, but they were not able to reply until the last minute, even if I’m going to pay, accepted because it’s our otel policy, but there are more hospital choices.

Reception staff were rude and restaurant staff not much better Waited 4 hours from 3pm for a check in - manager handled it well and gave us free parking and breakfast for one morning but the way it was handled in the first place was disappointing

Een keurig hotel op een geweldige locatie naast het metrostation Berri-UQAM. Het ontbijtbuffet is goed en uitgebreid en wordt voldoende aangevuld. Ruime kamers met fijne bedden, een gemiddelde badkamer.

Dat het ontbijtbuffet stipt om 9:30 uur wordt opgeruimd terwijl er nog best veel gasten aan het eten zijn.

The view was absolutely perfect!

The location was great, walking distance to old town and downtown, even though it was a little rough and sketchy, specially in the evenings. Really enjoyed having Starbucks and a grocery store right in the building. Enjoyed a great city view from 23rd floor.

we only tried the breakfast once, the selection was not great, waffles and danishes were store bought and reheated, not freshly made.

Stationnement, j ai du tourné pendant des minutes pour finalement ne rien trouver et un agent de sécurité Nico m’a gentillement offert de me stationner au valet car il n y avait pas de place. À mon retour l’employé était au courant du problème, déjà existant et 30$ en plus. Très peu agréable et personne ne nous as dit que la clé ouvrait les portes ou ascenseur ce qui aurait été appréciée.

There are so many homeless people including drug addict which give uncomfort.

I had booked the room through booking.com and one night before I understood that they had charged me triple times of normal price. I told the receptionist that im not happy but she didn’t help at all.

I hated the hotel due to the price they had offered three times more expensive. Would never come back and will tell my friends about the awful experience and poor customer service.

The Parking was a little hazzle, as it was public parking. i was out with family and then when i came back ther was no spot for me, and hav to wait for 45 Minutes and still have to park some where outside the hotel.

Great hotel at a surface value! Perfect location for metro use and it’s connected to a food court. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Our initial room wasn’t very clean (cobwebs, pizza, spiders, dust, finger prints) so we changed rooms. The pool is also not very clean. Hair on the walls, towels just left around day to day, and green algae forming in the pool.

Baustelle vor dem Hotel sorgt für Lärm. Laute Veranstaltungen im Park vor dem Hotel.

Parking was not convenient. The directions/instructions were not clear, and with the additional expense, it didn't feel worth it.

The property is located centrally, was clean and had good facilities. The staff were very curtious as well.

Breakfast was a let down with little choice and mostly processed food.

Rooms were clean and well maintained. All the staff were friendly, professional and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff were very friendly and efficient at the restaurant. The location was good with lots of restaurants nearby and also a grocery store in the area. Hotel had onsite parking which was a big plus for us. Will definitely come back again in future when visiting Montreal.

We were a family of 4 but only 3 towels were provided. Request for an additional bath towel on the day of check-in was not completed. Had to request again next day which was then provided. Other than that no other issues. Parking area is bit tight but since it is downtown area so its understandable.

The location was close to a lot of cute cafes and restaurants which was nice. It was also walkable to the old port area, a bit of a long walk but doable. Ubers were readily available as well. The park across the street was nice-we even got to see a community Karaoke party.

The hotel exceed my expectations in terms of the amenities, the food, the space in the rooms, proximity to tourist destinations, just everything!

The wait to get the rooms close together was a bit long, but still worth the wait.

Zelo prostorne sobe, velike udobne postelje, razmeroms dobra lokacija na robu centra vendar blizu postaje metroja. Dobro založena trgovina s hrano v sklopu hotela.

Že ob prihodu so me na recepciji razjezili, ker nam niso dali sob v istem nadstropju, čeprav sem to prosila ob rezervaciji, to smo uredili šele naslednji dan. Zelo skromna izbira hrane za zajtrk. Naslednji dan sta se pokvarila dva dvigala istočadno in smo obstali v 16 nadstropju in zamudili na zajtrk. Denarja nam niso vrnili smo pa kompenzirali s plačilom parkirišča. Motil me je tudi hrup glasbe iz vrts čez cesto pozno v noč. Pravzaprav sem glede na ceno, ki smo jo plačali od te hotelske verige pričakovala več. Razočaralj do nas.

L’hôtel était bien situé, une offre était proposé pour le parking et le petit déjeuner était correct.

La poussière dans les chambres, les bouches d'aération étaient plein de poussieres et malheureusement mes enfants font des allergies severes aux acariens, ils ont fait des réactions allergique les 2 nuits, même si après avoir signaler cela à la réception un bref nettoyage des conduits d'aération a été réalisé cela n’a pas changer grand car les rideaux étaient aussi pleins de poussières, aussi après 2 douches plus de gel douche dans la salle de bain bizarre... le matelas n’était pas du tout confortable trop mou et il suffit que l’un bouge et le lit tout entier bouge.

Le fait que le prix d'une des 2 chambres (292,66$) me soit facturé alors qu'elle avait été payée le 22 mars soit plus de 4 mois avant ma venue. Malgré que Mme Golliez De Wippens, Alexandrine, ait confirmé le paiement par mail, le service comptabilité n'en a pas tenue compte. Le prix de la chambre a été prélevé de mon compte sans que je sois prevenue. De plus, 142,66$ ont ete facturés sans que je sache à quoi il correspondent. Hotel à fuir!!!!!

Établissement bien situé. Chambres sympathiques avec vue sur la ville et lit confortable.

L’établissement était très sale et pas à la hauteur du standing d’un 4 étoiles, pas même d’un hôtel 1 étoile. Pas d’aide pour les bagages de la part du personnel, pas de bouteille d’eau en chambre comme ça se fait dans n’importe quel hôtel de ce standing et en dessous et surtout une absence de propreté et d’entretien choquante. Il y avait d’énormes toiles d’araignées dans la chambre et le pire était la piscine, absolument répugnante. Sol noir, pas de pédiluve pour rincer ses pieds avant d’entrer dans l’eau. D’immondes touffes de cheveux qui flottaient partout dans la piscine et sur le sol autour. On ne parle pas d’un cheveux mais véritablement de poignées de cheveux c’était immonde. Je n’ai jamais vu ça dans un hôtel De plus l’eau était trouble. Le lendemain matin la piscine était toujours aussi sale et n’avait pas été nettoyée. Même constat : sol noir de crasse, touffes de cheveux partout dans l’eau et sur le carrelage autour. Il n’y avait déjà plus de serviettes de bain disponibles pour les clients à partir de 10h30. Bref un hôtel pas au niveau de ce qu’il prétend être, très décevant, je ne recommande pas. Il y a plein de meilleurs hôtels avec piscine moins chers à Montréal et plus qualitatifs.

I liked that the hotel was very close to the metro station. It was also very close to a grocery store and shops. The breakfast service was very good, lots of choices.

The hotel is showing some wear and tear. We had an oddly set up refrigerator in our room. It was on a switch. Broken hooks in the room and our coffee maker didn't work. We did get a replacement coffee maker. I had to get a piece of scotch tape to put over the switch to prevent housekeeping from turning off the refrigerator. They do offer Netflix, but YOU have to stream it from your device via their app to the in room television. Quite a process to watch any streaming services. Our door was damaged. The door lock was a joke. The hallways were dirty and showed their age.

We like it that it was downtown core, although very busy and somewhat noisy at night. Parking lot was not favourable due to accessibility with being not too much height and very small…

Very nice and updated. We love Hyatt’s beds every time we travel. Excellent mattress 😊

From the moment we stepped into the lobby, the vibe of the hotel was very welcoming! Aimée at the front desk was kind, professional and was very quick in assisting with my request to store our luggage away as our arrival was before 3pm. The decor of the hotel was modern and clean throughout. The beds were super comfy, our room was spacious and our floor was so quiet. The location was ideal and walking distance to everywhere we needed to visit. We will definitely be returning!

Its proximity to downtown

Their breakfast is a mess !

The Hyatt Place Montreal Downtown has a perfect location. With the Berri-UQAM station literally around the corner, you have immediate and easy access to one of the major hubs of Montreal's subway with three lines stopping there. Within minutes you can access all the major touristic attractions in the city. The hotel is new and the rooms and common areas in good condition. There is a parking garage attached to the hotel. Cost is extra but convenient.

Unfortunately people in Montreal have the bad habit of smoking indoors despite the hotel policy. On a previous visit there was a strong and obvious smell of cigarette smoke coming through the ventilation shaft in the bathroom. This time, despite the hotels best effort to eliminate the smell of cigarette smoke, there was obvious evidence that previous guests had smoked in the room. The hotel should install smoke detectors in the room and charge hefty fees to guests that disobey non-smoking policy. Lastly, the room-to-room connection using doors that connect rooms is a major problem. those doors have zero sound proofing and it is as if your neighbors were staying in your room. From a loud couple, to a family with young children, if you are in a room connected to another with a door connection you will hear every whisper of your neighbors. The hotel clearly has to work on the soundproofing of those connecting doors.

Wir sind am letzten Tag früh abgereist, leider war es nicht möglich das Frühstück zu konsumieren. Wir haben aber weder etwas zum Mitnehmen erhalten, noch wurde es vom Preis abgezogen. In anderen Hotels war das besser.

For the price you pay, dont the management sleep in the beds they make? Every visit they dont use fitted sheets. You wake up in a knot of useless flat sheets that dont stay in place. Absolutely horrible. The air-conditioning won't go below 22/74. I even moved rooms. Horrible to sleep. Request a fan if you like a cool room.

We pointed out that the floor next to our table was dirty, and instead of cleaning it, a staff member simply moved the table over the dirt. She appeared to be the only person working at the time, so she may not have had the opportunity to clean it immediately, but it still left a poor impression.

The decor of the main lobby and open facilities made for guests. The staff were also kind and accommodating to our needs. Hotel is about a 30min walk from most tourist locations.

Location is across the street from a park. Dozens and dozens of homeless people sleep and hang around the park during the day. Late concerts on the weekends till 11:30pm at the park for locals. Unable to sleep with the live concerts, as you can hear everything. Can also hear party music from other events near the hotel until 2am. We asked to switch rooms that no longer faced the downtown core area the next day, only then was it silent and we had a good night’s rest.

Didn't have breakfast. We're used to hotels that have free continental breakfast.

Location, breakfast and the size of the room

Elevators were slow. There are four of them but you need to wait for a long time. Parking is also quite tight.

The hotel is great. It’s located on the East side of downtown and is relatively close to the Old port, Chinatown, Biodome/Planetarium/Olypmic Stadium and Schwartz’s - all a short drive away. The Berri-UQAM metro station is a block away. There is an IGA grocery store and Starbucks connected to the building and McDonald’s across the pedestrian-only walkway - all very convenient. The parking lot is a little tricky to navigate as you need to go down steep ramps to get to the e lower level and then back up a ramp to hotel parking and it has the lowest ceiling I’ve ever seen for a parking lot (5’10”) which must be a standard because my small SUV was able to fit but I had to watch out to not hit my head (6’2”). The hotel will validate your parking ticket; so, you get unlimited in and out privileges. The only issue was the pool which had the most murky water I’ve ever seen in a hotel pool - could not see more than a couple of feet in front of me - definitely a water quality issue. Hopefully it will be taken care of. Overall a great place to stay in Montreal.

Breakfast was great, a bit crowded but we arrived an hour before it ended. Beds and bathroom clean and comfortable. It was attached to a mall that had a grocery store.

Clean and quiet

My jeep didn’t fit in their low-ceiling parking, the staff recommended a nearby paid parking which was not monitored, it was difficult to find our way out of the recommended parking lot, and difficult to get in it the next day to take the car. Very frustrating, also we had to carry the luggage from and to the other parking

The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was great for $14. There were lots of restaurants around within walking distance.

We had one car that didn’t have the height clearance for the hotel car park. We needed 7ft clearance. The staff were not helpful with assisting us to find a suitable car park. It took us 2 hours to find a car park which was a 15 minute drive away and inconvenient. It was extremely disappointing that they were not helpful with this issue. For this reason I would not stay there again. There were also a lot of homeless people around the park and street across the hotel. Even though we were not bothered by anyone, I wouldn’t not recommend walking around on your own at night.

This is a good hotel experience, complemented by a very handy location for our visit's purpose (traveling to Jean Drapeau Park). Love easy access to Metro, IGA/shops, parking. Also entry way to St Catherine and great view.

The hotel is in great shape and the staff were great. I think this location is suboptimal with a lot of homeless around and drug users stumbling around. I’d expect a hostel to be located here, not a Hyatt. Did like the IGA next stores dm Lulu’s is great for brekkie.
