El Cid Marina Beach Hotel

El hotel es muy bueno, pero lo que lo hace magnífico es el personal que atiende, desde la recepción, los maleteros, el servicio de playa, simplemente genial.

Creo que podrían mejorar un poco el servicio de alimentación teniendo un poco más de variedad. No es malo, simplemente les falta un poquito más para llegar a ser excepcional.

We are on our second day of our Mexican vacation and are staying at the El CID Marina Beach hotel. We have been at the beach all morning and are having such a relaxing time. The staff have been amazing, especially our palapa server, Raymundo, who has provided exemplary service. Raymundo is friendly, attentive and efficient. The supervisor, Juan Diego, also gets props for his professionalism, friendliness and service. These kind of employees create a lasting, positive memory, that will last long after our vacation is over. Both should be commended for their being Ambassadors of Goodwill.

The experience was terrible not enough food amenities to manage the amount of people that are there very poor customer service and lack of attention tocustomers very inconsistent. I would not recommend this hotel. Lack of staff, unable to get a drink poolside they would take an order and never return with your drink.

I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years. We are traveling with my adult children who's plane was delayed (we have 2 rooms). I wad not allowed to check into my room because the other party was not here (the plane was delayed until tomorrow). We spent three hours arguing to even be allowed to check into our room. This trip and rooms have already been paid for, and they would not let us check into our room.

We loved this hotel! The rooms are beautiful, food is excellent especially in the restaurants. activities are super fun and the hosts are great. We will be back for sure!

Spent 5 amazing weeks there! Blue skies every day and Smiles all around. This is our 3rd time there and it was fabulous. The rooms are kept pristine and we had a beautiful view of the Marina. The Manager and the staff are all there to assist you however they can. The Hotel has a Doctor who is very knowledgeable and Even speaks English. The Food at the Calypso Pool is delicious and Servers are awesome. Luis is the Highlight at the Pool. Fast Service and very entertaining. Must also mention Christopher, Eduardo all very attentive. The breakfast is very plentiful with lots of fruit, eggs made to Order and lots of pastries. For supper you had the Choice of 2 Restaurants on Site as well as the 3 other El Cids that the free Shuttles will drive you to. For your own Protection watch your Step in Mazatlan and for sure get Travel medical insurance. Would Go back. Thank You all for taking care of us. Rita and Brian Johnson

Our stay was wonderful. We love all the great staff. They look after all our needs. The entertainment team our a lot of fun. The only problem is the internet keeps bumping out.

We have been staying at Marina for 25 years. The staff are like family to us! The resort is beautiful. Service is excellent!! We enjoy visiting with our friends and telling new visitors about how we love El Cid Marina. The fishing is outstanding and we enjoy all the events provided by the activities team especially, crafts, Spanish lessons, lotteria and black jack!! If you haven’t come to Mazatlan, plan your trip to El Cid Marina…they will welcome you like family!!!

It is always nice to be back at the El Cid Marina resort in beautiful Mazatlán. We love this resort because of the proximity to the vibrant city. There is so much to do. The resort is lovely with it's garden like setting, view of the marina, beach and the ocean. The staff at this resort are always cheerful and helpful. The activity program around the pool is fun and very well managed by the activities manager Dante and his team. There are crafts, pool games and exercises, stretching and more. My favourite activity is the Spanish Lessons taught by Dante. A 30 minute challenge always adapted to whatever level is needed in each class. This is a fun way to meet other guests and to learn a bit of the local language. We have visited here several times and will certainly return! One negative comment - El Cid has implanted a new restaurant reservation procedure where guests have to stand in line starting at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings to have any hope of getting reservations at a popular hour (6 to 8 pm). Some folks have found ways to cheat the system and so even at 7:00 am certain restaurants are fully booked. Complaints to management have been made but no improvements have been made so far. For all the money we spend here (we are elite members) we find this process rather insulting.

Overall review of the resort: Food: exceptional food, been to Mexico many times over the past 5 years and the food at the marina is the best food we have had at a resort. Drinks are not watered down and the bartenders are always willing to make us new drinks. Staff: very friendly and willing to make you feel special on vacation. Alexis greeted us and showed us around, told us what we needed to know about the resort. Luis served us at the pool, always getting drinks and food for us. Manuel served us in the restaurant and always gave 10/10 service. Many staff members helped us throughout our stay and we appreciate all of it!!! Thank you for making our stay wonderful Activities: played Mexican lotto, bingo and other activities. Staff had it organized and always made it fun. The activity crew gets a 10/10 from us. Cleanliness: resort was spotless while we were here. No drink cups lying around, room was always clean with fresh towels. Pools were very clean. They offered a free shuttle to other el cid resorts which we loved because you get a different experience and get to try other restaurants. There’s a free water taxi which is easy to take and go to the beach. Would definitely come back!! And we are writing this review on Day 4/7 of our vacation.

service and perfect location We had an amazing stay and everything exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the experience was wonderful. The resort is beautiful, the facilities are very well maintained, and everything is extremely clean. We loved the pool areas and the activities around the pool. The wave pool with volcanic rock and a waterfall is especially beautiful and creates a relaxing and unique atmosphere. The private beach area is also very clean and well cared for, which made our time at the beach even more enjoyable. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the ocean. The location is another big advantage. It is very easy to go out and explore nearby areas, including the Golden Zone, and it is also very convenient to take a trip to Isla de la Piedra. The shuttle service was excellent, always punctual and very well organized, which made getting around very easy and comfortable. Our room was comfortable and well equipped, and we appreciated how organized and pleasant everything was throughout the property. What truly made our stay special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. Their service made us feel very welcome during our entire stay. We truly enjoyed every moment and would absolutely return. We highly recommend this resort for a relaxing and memorable vacation with family.

The marina is great. A lot less people. Great food. Good service

We loved the El Cid Marina. First thing is if you want great seafood, this is the place to stay. There is a sport fishing charter that goes out of the hotel. The hotel kitchen usually gets the fish caught by the hotel guests using the charter. During my stay there, at least two big marlin were caught and given to the kitchen. At every meal, I made sure I made a beeline for the seafood. The ceviche on the weekends is amazing. Also when you are walking around the marina edge, look down, it is like visiting an aquarium. There are beautiful fish everywhere! I saw a pacific eagle ray jump out of the water at some point just walking down the canal next to the hotel. Not as big as a manta ray but apparently second largest ray in the world. The pools are great. There are large hot tubs, cold water pools with waterfalls, caves and rocks you can jump off of into the pool. There is a warm water pool at 94 degrees for the older folks and kids. The staff is great. If you have kids, they will randomly give the kids candy as gifts. Ok, yes maybe the wifi is spotty but as an IT guy its hard to get perfect wifi over a large area like a resort. Also if you are looking for upscale high end modern looking resort, this probably isn't it. This is a classic older resort that is well maintained. May not have all of the fancy whiz-bang stuff but still great. There is a semi-private beach that the hotel uses that is mostly clear of vendors (the enterprising ones still get there). The beach does have a rocky area that creates tide pools during low tide. Again, great for the kids.

We enjoyed every minute of our Month here! We flew using a direct flight on Westjet from Edmonton, they picked us up and took us to the resort. From that point on the service and friendliness of the staff has been top notch! We really enjoy the food at the restaurants, one can go to the other ElCid resorts here to eat, or hang around at the pools! We especially liked the staff at the Calipso pool. The waiters are amazing, and the activity staff make sure you have something to do. I would like to mention that Dante and Isys were particularly welcoming and enjoyable to play games with them. The rooms are very comfortable, the Concierge staff are also amazing at getting tours and other activities arranged for you.

We have had an amazing time here at El Cid. Everybody has been so friendly and welcoming. It's a very family type atmosphere here. We love the heated pool and all the activities around the pool put on by the fabulous activities team are great. Are room has an amazing view of the pool and harbour. The food is outstanding and we have been able to use all the amenities at all the resorts. We would highly recommend and looking forward to returning.

There are too many good things to say about this resort so I'll do my best. Check in was extremely smooth and efficient. Everything was explained well. We were assisted to our room by a very friendly and knowledgeable bellman who made sure we had everything we needed. The resort is laid out beautifully with walking paths from one end to the other. It takes less than 10 minutes to stroll but they also have golf carts if you'd like a ride. The view of the marina is gorgeous! The rooms are spacious and very clean and comfortable. There are 2 pools. One heated and one not. Each have their own bar and snack bar with incredibly good food and even better service. There's a hot tub and a couple of slides for both big and little as well as zero entry. The entertainment crew is awesome! They have bingo, darts, crafts, Spanish lessons, water volleyball, aquasize and more. The team is super friendly and encouraging without being pushy. They have a private beach just a short water taxi ride across marina (2 minutes) that has a lot of loungers, palapas and it's own bar/snack bar. During low tide you can walk for miles. The staff in every part of the resort are very mindful of not just their particular job but of the areas surrounding them. They take the time to visit with guests and truly care about them. The food is some of the best we've had. There are 2 restaurants. One is buffet with a menu option, the other is buffet at breakfast and a la carte in evening. We ate at buffet as the taste, choices and ambiance was exceptional. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this resort.

Every time I go back to El Cid Marina in Mazatlán it honestly feels like coming home. The people there are some of the nicest I’ve ever met — they always make me feel welcome and genuinely taken care of, not just “good service” but real warmth. The rooms were very clean, the views are incredible, and watching the sunset from my balcony is always a must. I went this time for a wedding, and it turned out to be the perfect place to recover afterwards — calm, comfortable, and easy. The staff couldn’t be kinder. I already can’t wait to go back.

All expectations were exceeded on our recent trip to Mazatlan! While there for a family event, we were also treated to what I can only describe as world-class service at every corner of this resort. Having traveled all over the world, I can easily say they have one of the best staff I have ever encountered. From the cleaning staff, to the front door staff, to the bartenders (thanks Christopher & Luis!) - the excellence was unmatched. A very special acknowledgment to Victor, an exceptional host whose warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care for every detail made our trip an absolutely unforgettable experience; Giovanni, a top-notch waiter; Claudia & Gabriel, who was able to fulfill any request; Daniel and Ramon, who made everything perfect at our event; Araceli, who kept our room looking immaculate; and the whole staff. Tengo muchas ganas de volver!

We are Platinum members and have travelled to El Cid resorts in Mazatlan, Cozumel and mainly Puerto Morelos, for the past ten years. I am now disgusted with the thefts, lack of service, deterioration in restaurants, unclean bed linen, watered down drinks, rooms not ready when we arrive, intense pressure from staff to buy memberships, etc. We used to enjoy ourselves but no longer.

I love coming here every year with my family I feel free here to have fun this place is magical. Every can be anything want here.

My husband and I spent a week at the El Cid Marina Beach Hotel in November 2025. We usually go to the El Cid resorts in Puerto Morelos. Almost every aspect of the trip was a pleasure. We loved the food and the atmosphere. The live music at dinner was fun. Some of the outstanding staff included: Rui (manager), Juan, Abbi, Avisai and Alfonso (concierge), Rosario (finance), Santino (boat captain), Olivia (our charming housekeeper), and Rogelio and Ely were always smiling and friendly in the lobby. It was obvious the whole staff wanted us to love our experience in Mazatlan. It was easy to take the boat over to the beach area. We thought we would not like the absence of the "Delores" food court we so love in Puerto Morelos, but we were able to get food whenever we wanted at the pool and beach and in the main restaurant. We enjoyed 4 massages while we were there. We did miss the hydro-therapy as it is set up in Puerto Morelos. We went to the golf and racquet club and separately enjoyed the use of their spa for a sauna and steam before a massage. But it was not the same guided experience we enjoy in Puerto Morelos.

We had a great family vacation. Great people. Some of the friendliest workers. Our housekeeper, Olivia, is the best. We had her the year before and requested her again. She did a great job everyday. The bartenders at the end bar are also great. Daniel, Edgar, Jose, Carlos, the nicest guys. Daniel remembers us from the year before. Food was really good all week, they have the best orange juice. The deep sea fishing was definitely great this past week. I loved getting to see all the fish coming in.

El Cid at Marina is fabulous and their activities are so much fun. Dante is awesome as an activities director. The food and drinks are awesome and the entire staff makes us feel like family.

Every time we come to EL Cid, we have an incredible experience. The food and staff are fantastic. I love how they make us feel like we are part of the family. I specifically enjoy the activities at the EL Cid Marina Pool. Dante and all the other sweet young people are so inviting and special. I would recommend EL Cid 100% for a safe and fun place to visit.

Dante and Isys are awesome… they engage the crowd and make it fun…. Come to the activity center and see for yourself!!!..

It was a nice stay. Most of the staff was helpful and kind. The pool was great and there was lots of shade. The food at EL Cid Mariana was good. I would like to see more activities, music and entertainment. I did not like the food at El CID Moto.

Need more activities, more food selection. Some of the staff was not friendly. When we had a dinner reservation on another sister hotel, they gives a hard time, because we wore a party of 8.

Staff were really helpful. If you are family oriented, there were lots of kids.

Buffets are not like they what they say they are like. I have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts and this ranks in the bottom 5. Even when you dine at a specialty restaurant, the meat was unchewable. There are only 2 restaurants on site, otherwise you must take a shuttle. The mixed drinks at poolside, were not suitable. Very poor quality. I will not recommend this one.

Maid burst into the room at almost 7 am. I was buck naked coming out of the bathroom. Scared the living daylights out of me. Non stop .

I played blackjack every day and it was a lot of fun.The guys that run it are a lot of fun and make it enjoyable. I also did bochi ball which was run very well. ..... ......thank you so much . .see you soon...... very 😊 😃 😀 😄 😁 . .. . ......... . ...

The grounds are stunning

The room was very clean and the food was very good, though I would not pay for the upcharged menu items. The breakfast buffet was my favorite- very fresh and lots of options. The drinks were flowing at the pool bars, though not very strong and often very sweet. Drinks in the restaurants were okay, though again, some alcohols were an upcharge (ex. Kahlua). For the money, you cannot beat it.

The staff was amazing. It really made our stay excellent. Luis at breakfast every morning was an amazing server. Diane in the Concierge lounge was so helpful. Jesus at the shuttle was always so welcoming and knowledgeable. We loved the open air style of the resort, no huge buildings blocking our view. The Marina hotel was so great. We cannot wait to come back.

I would like to give a huge shout out to Olivia Vazquez, our chambermaid who took amazing care of us while we were at Marina Elcid. She went above and beyond to make us welcome and did so many things that made us feel very special, she folded our kleenex so beautifully, she made a swan out of towels for our bed with red heart balloons and left us notes, she folded out kitchen towels into the shape of a basket and everytime we saw her she had the most fabulous smile and greeting for us ! She genuinely made us feel special and cared for. The cleanliness of our room was top notch and in fact the whole resort was amazing at cleanliness. Olivia Vazquez and her work ethic is what makes a resort like Marina Elcid so attractive, Huge Kudos to Olivia, we can't wait to go back and hopefully see her again. My daughter and I had a great time at El Cid Marina. We love the vibe of the resort vs a big hotel. Staff was amazing! We had a great time with at the pool and activities hut. Never had an issue finding a chair. The sunsets are unbelievable! It’s nice being able to visit the sister resorts as well for a full range of resort activities, food and entertainment.

The pool was the best! Clean and warm! The views were great. The kids loved to play in ocean all day. There was plenty of shade for everyone to cool off. The staff was super helpful and friendly. This was first time in Mexico and it something I would recommend.

This place was amazing nice view and room good food, there was a lot of activities for kids and a lot of restaurants . There was also some really nice pools My room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Breakfast was delicious with lots of fresh options. The hotel is close to great restaurants and shops by the marina, which made it really convenient.

Great place to stay friendly staff m. I’ll be back

this is an older property but has been kept clean and well. service was excellent but their restaurant was pricey. We didn't have an impression of pushy sales people for the timeshare thing. In fact they never even bothered to ask us but noticed the first day that it was a time share. We love the cave pool and felt like we didn't have to go outside of the hotel. I was impressed the female trainer for the hawk would come out to the pool area for the families to experience! Should be called El Cid Resort, not hotel. Stay within Mazatlan, after all this is Sinaloa.

Great place to visit!!

have been to this resort a number of times and know it well. The staff are exceptional and every attempt is made to make the visitors as comfortable as possible.

Check in was a horrible experience. Receptionist was rude and unprofessional.

Front desk most accommodating! Love this place! Spa was also great but more expensive than spas on street but more luxurious!! Prefer staying in El Centro but this is a great place for a retreat!

Dinning was very good.I loved staying around the pool. With the serving people and the activities guys . I did not liked service at the beach , we were there about an hour and one offer their service to us.that was the only bad thing at this resort.

The staff was really attentive, very welcoming. Unfortunately, during our trip an emergency happened and they knew how to handle it calmly and effectively. This is our first time visiting Mazatlan and this will be the hotel we stay at when visiting again. They have their private beach, which is very nice.

There are a lot of kinds of food in breakfast. I had a great time.

Excelente staff, comida la mejor en la que he estado en un todo incluido, buenos camarones y el servicio excelente de parte de todos los meseros y asistentes en general. Tiene una playa muy tranquila buena para pasar todo el dia y relajarse, solamente que esta al otro lado de la entrada de la marina, lo cual no es problema ya que el hotel cuenta con servicio de lancha todo el dia para cruzar a la hora que necesites.
