It is an okay hotel, quite average, located conveniently for the business trip.

They refuse to provide the invoice, which is needed for the business trip reimbursement. This is their responsibility, according to the terms of the Booking.com agreement with the accommodation partners (paragraph 4.4.9), to provide it upon the first request. After weeks of back-and-forth messaging and calls, the situation is still not resolved.

The elegance it shows. Every detail looks like is picked with intention.

The Inn at St. Mary’s boasts a prime location, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The facility is quiet and cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, and overall, it’s an excellent place to stay if you’re visiting Notre Dame or St. Mary’s College.

There were constructions activities going on due to which main lobby area was closed. I wish I visited the fecility after the construction was over.

This on-campus inn exceeded our expectations. We were just traveling through and were used to the regular chain budget hotels, but this was a place you could spend a few days.

Well we actually got there a half hr before check in and we asked if it would be ok if we checked in and the woman working the desk said well let's see. She got our name and checked and said ok. I asked her if they give a discount to veterans because my husband is a veteran and she said very sarcastically well it looks like booking gave u a discount already and then continued to say actually looks like they gave us a great discount already so no we can't give a veterans discount on top of that. Wouldn't really make eye contact, told us she was putting us on the 2nd floor and what time breakfast was. Our room had a refrigerator that was stuck on 73° no matter how many times we turned it down it wouldn't get colder. The handle on the toilet was almost ready to break off. The shower leaked all across the floor because of the gap between the glass doors. The fan in the bathroom didn't work either. It just was a noisy room also because every time someone else would open their door to go in or out our door would also move even when it was locked. We usually stay at a different hotel when we come in but thought since they had remodeled we would try it. Couch and chair were Soo hard it was like sitting on the ground so we opted to just sit on the bed which was the only thing that was comfortable. I really feel like because we got a good deal thru Booking that we were put in a not Soo good room. The way the lady at the desk acted when we checked in and we had gone thru Booking was not good. The people at the front desk really need to be a little more nice. And yes I do understand that the hotel is doing some renovations and that wasn't the issue at all.

Rooms are spacious and staff are very friendly. Great location for nearby colleges. Laundry facilities are great for families.

Booked our stay 11 months in advance and there was no warning communication in the run up to our stay of the ongoing renovations or the effect it may have. The temporary breakfast room was very cramped at busy times and hot food selection was poor. Plastic cutlery and paper bowls and plates gave a bit of a camp site feel.

breakfast was lacking. selections were empty and took a long time to refill. no place to fill water bottles. very cramped seating area. utensils were not promptly refilled. room felt 'damp'. also pretty sure you guys have electrical issues - maybe the contractor has erred in wiring. we used the hair dryer and it just stopped. we determined that the entire bathroom AND the microwave AND the refrigerator are all on ONE circuit - pretty sure this is not allowed and is actually a hazard. hopefully it was just our room and not the way they are redoing ALL the rooms.

Hotel was under some renovation, I didn’t know this when we booked. Made me nervous when we first arrived, but it turned out ok. I thought it was a little pricey for looking messy.

While the hotel staff was super friendly and accommodating, the complete disarray with the lobby and basically walking into a messy/dirty construction site was not what we were expecting. The hotel should have been closed for the renovation. Though the rooms were clean, the renovation was a basic facelift and the old A/C units barely provide cold and are obnoxiously noisy, the pillows lumpy and this just was not a pleasant hotel stay.

I like the new furniture in the room. There is still work going on in the common areas. Can’t wait to see it when it’s done. The bathroom door is solid and the sink is inside the bathroom – all good. We parked at the hotel and walked a nice path to the basilica.

Easy to access from Rt. 90 and quiet. The staff was great and even told us we had a discount at the restaurant behind the Inn.

Only thing good about the hotel was some of the staff and our room

Everything else was awful. There wasn’t one part of the building we could use. Only one elevator worked. Every inch of the place was covered in plastic or tore up to be worked on. We couldn’t use any stairs to get in and out unless you use the end of the hallway. But then you had to walk out and around to get anywhere. Long wait for elevators. No Starbucks. And we had no knowledge of any of this before checking in. We picked this hotel so we could grab coffee at Starbucks in the morning. We left hotel at between 6:30-7;30 every morning and returned between 9:30-11:30 every night. Couldn’t find parking with limited parking. Had to backtrack to get our coffee and leave earlier since Starbucks wasn’t there. Not nearly worth the cost we paid to stay there. There was not one amenity available.

Breakfast was the highlight of my visit. The clerk upon check in peaked out from behind a closed door before coming to the desk and did not welcome me. The neighborhood nearby was somewhat sketchy. My room was clean, but paint was chippped, and baseboards needed repair. The room was dark and needed updating.

There was no mention of massive construction. I was told they could not offer rebate as I booked through Booking.com. There was no front lobby; we had to enter through the back. There was dust from construction, and until 6pm you could hear the hammering on all floors. Forget about the advertised Starbucks too - although touted from the hall to the ads in the elevators, I was told “Hmmm - no!” when I asked in the morning if there was Starbucks available. They offered us free drinks in exchange for the issues. I do not drink. Two Diet Cokes will not make up for such a bad experience. Morning breakfast nook was overflowing as there was nowhere else to go. Look at the pictures in the frame and compare with reality… that’s what I paid 300$ for?!?!

Room was nice with a couch and comfortable bed.

The location is perfect. We were in one of the newly redesigned rooms and we love the idea of the two daybeds in the living/kitchenette area.

Everything.. everyone was very sweet. Accommodating in the hotel was very clean and quiet. The breakfast were wonderful. The ladies at the desk were great, and the drivers were so welcoming as well.

Just some remodeling being done, but they kept it pretty quiet.

Breakfast was very good. We loved the location, so close to Notre Dame which we were excited to see.

Rooms smelled damp and musty. The staff was not friendly at all, only the bartender was nice. I get that they were under construction but they could be handling the situation much more professionally.

Asked to get a refund for an early check in after I saw guest checking in earlier on same day but was told by manager the only way we were to guarantee an early check in we had to buy reservation for night before. Bought reservation for Sunday night and arrived 11am on Monday. Check in at 4 but saw a group of 4 men walk up to desk at 2pm and were allowed to check in early without reservations for previous evening or for that day as clerk was checking for room availability. Heat index on Monday was at 100 and I felt pressured to purchase a $130 reservation because 2 seniors and 2 dogs couldn’t be stuck out in the heat. I thought when I brought to her attention that other people checked in early that I could’ve at least gotten a partial refund, but it was denied. I also let her know that we are extending our stay by another week and thought that might help but that didn’t help either. Otherwise, the stay was great.

We stayed at the Inn at St Mary's for a couple of reasons. It's very close to Notre Dame as we were visiting the University and because it was ranked so well on TripAdvisor. Trust me - stay here! I loved the decor as it is Notre Dame themed. The room furnishing are beautiful and well designed. Very original and classy. Loved!!

It’s a fine place to stay for a night if you’re stopping in the area. The hotel is being remodeled, so some of the halls have construction dust, but the halls where the rooms are located are clean. The rooms are clean, and we liked the fact that apart from a rug under the beds, the floors are faux wood, which means they can be cleaned properly with a broom and mop.

Their website and all the booking platforms say they have EV chargers and they’re free. They have them, but none of them work. The wires are frayed, there’s tape over the ports. When we checked in, the desk staff said one was working, but that is not the case.

Proximity to campus

Wasn’t advised when booking that the property was under construction. Lobby was completely torn apart and workmen were in the halls daily updating rooms.

We absolutely loved our stay in the newly renovated rooms. The showers were fantastic, and we were so pleased with the spacious king room. It was the perfect getaway!

The property was still under renovation, still working on the main entrance. Despite this, it did not dampen our stay.

They are remodeling and it’s turning out really well!! The rooms are quiet and very clean! The breakfast had a lot of options and was pretty good for a hotel breakfast!

The beds are definitely firm which isn’t my favorite but I did sleep just fine.

Staff is very friendly, mainly, the drivers from the van.

The hotel was in maintenance. In additon the gym could be improved and more cleaned.

The room and breakfast were perfect. We all had a great sleep in the cleaning room and the breakfast was great.

When I booked, the renovations should have been done. The plastic hanging overhead at the elevators was daunting. The staff, room and breakfast was outstanding.

I would especially like to recognize the front desk team and the shuttle service staff. They were consistently friendly, helpful, and accommodating, always going the extra mile to assist with transportation, directions, and any questions I had during my stay. The room was spacious, quiet, and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming and relaxing. As a minor suggestion for improvement, the fitness room could benefit from better ventilation or odor control, as there was a noticeable smell during my visits. This was a very small issue in an otherwise outstanding experience. Overall, I highly recommend The Inn at Saint Mary's and would gladly stay here again on future trips to South Bend. I was greeted when I walked in. Everyone was nice. They stated that they were remodeling, which was fine, sine you did not hear them. Breakfast was great and the room was really clean.

The entrance was in the back because if the remodel, but that did not matter. I did not see anything I disliked.

I love the location! I booked this hotel mainly for the cool look of the place. Unfortunately, they are going through a renovation process but they let us know we could use the bar and restaurant right next door with a discount. They still served a lovely breakfast and had a great coffee bar on site. The gym was great with lots of brand new equipment!!! Comfortable and quiet! I would stay here again and recommend to family and friends!

Just checked in 10 mins ago and am regretting it. The room looks like a dorm and everything in the room is incredibly cheap. The hotel resembles a Red Roof Inn, but cost 2x$$$. We chose this hotel for the electric vehicle charging, neither charger works and I called yesterday to confirm they had them and they are working. 1 charger had the cord cut and the 2nd charger had a broken charging plug with the electric cord pullout and hanging. The caliper of people working here is interesting…. & They DO NOT CARE AT ALL!!! There is no bar, no coffee area. The AC Unit in our room is so loud and rickety. Save your money and stay somewhere else!! - it’s an embarrassment that smells like weed

1.Called ahead of time to schedule shuttle, they asked for flight # so clearly thought they’d check flight arrival time and I relayed no checked luggage. Flight was scheduled to land 6:07, arrived 5:45, waited until 6:25 and got Uber. Got to hotel and said paid $18 would appreciate a bar/restaurant credit, they said we will give you one glass of wine. Rude front desk person and they never answer when you repeatedly call (happened three different days). 2. Only plus, bartender was super nice and gave me an extra glass of wine. Construction underway, bar in a makeshift room and don’t think a restaurant. 3. Room looks like a dorm, noisy air conditioner and traffic noise. Did not sleep. 4. Ask about shuttle on way out, front desk person says well I’m not sure if it will be back in time for your departure, but just come down and ask for status of driver. Go downstairs and they say they booked someone for 15 mins after when I need shuttle so not possible. Shuttle pulls up same time I’m getting uber. Experience = no sleep, unfriendly staff (except bartender) and $33 extra uber fees due to inconvenient shuttle situation.

The place is going through a complete remodel and it will be beautiful. But, 7:00 we were woke up by guys cutting down trees and shrubs. It was so loud!

The rooms are very nice, clean, comfortable and felt upscale.

It was under construction and I had overlooked that information when I booked. I had stayed there as a half way stopping point 2xs before on my trips to Upper Michigan and was looking forward to the convenient bar and Starbucks kiosk only to have to find my way to a cut out in the wall for an evening glass of wine in a plastic cup. One plus was a staff member went out of her way to make me a turkey sandwich after another staff offered only a pre wrapped ham.

We came to this hotel when my son attended a football camp at the University of Notre Dame. To my surprise, we had access to a small turf field right behind the hotel. This was amazing! The hotel has a Notre Dame football theme. I would highly recommend.

I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. Though this was my first time traveling solo, I had the pleasrue of getting to know Jimmy who cosistently ensured I was feeling at home and got where I needed to go! Anna at the front desk was also very sweet, helpful, and timely with my requests. Despite many reviews I read being more negative because of the construction, I found my stay to be safe, pleasant and overall relaxing.
