The villa was spacious and the location was great. The hotel felt older but was comfortable and the service was great.

The hotel was a bit older and the area felt a bit isolated.

Family of four. We had a beautiful Ocean View Villa. Two bedrooms, plus living and dining room. We would have been happy alone with the two bedrooms! But it gave us much more space this way. The view from 619 was gorgeous, perhaps 618 would have been a little bit better. Servers at the restaurant were all very pleasant and nice, although a bit inconsistent. The same goes for the kitchen. Good all over, but one time at the Flames the chicken was undercooked and another time the starter at the Terrace was forgotten. Positive mentions: Mrs. Beauty, she was very attentive and remembered our room number and preferences in drinks.

The best sunset view in the Island! Staff are friendly but I have to give a special mention to housekeeping they keep the room spotless twice a day, bell services work tirelessly and always with a warm greeting as they ferry you about the resort in buggy’s (sit at the back for the best ride!). It is very safe, our 12 and 11 year old could go about the resort and the team at the pool knew their ice cream order after a few days. The guys at the cycle rental played football with one of our kids, which was going above and beyond. We had a 2 bed villa. Lots of space for a large family. Air con was brilliant. Cartoonita runs the excursions and was able to plan a great trip at the last minute. The spa is beautiful, if going as a couple I recommend you ask for the large treatment room at the end, We were sad to say goodbye.

Beautiful location! 360 ocean view. Room with pool was nice but hot took the AC more than an hour to cool it, no refrigerator. Spa was amazing and really good. BUT Service was terrible! Felt like they were doing a favour every time, they do not understand English , you can tell that the management does not treat the employees well since they are frustrated… Would not recommend staying there

It was fabulous!!!! I very highly recommend the massages here! Soooo relaxing!!! It was the best massage I have ever had!!! Just right- not too hard or soft!!

Everyone is very friendly, can’t do too much for you and when there have been any issues they have bent over backwards to make it right and to ensure we have a fabulous stay

Wow wow wow what a stay. Bought this on luxury escapes the king view room and what a hotel. Could not fault. My first time to Koh Samui and what a way to start my trip. But let’s talk about the staff. Next level fantastic the breakfast staff the room staff and the pool staff Chong and I hope that is how I spell it outstanding. To be meet with a smile every day was a highlight

We had the most amazing stay at the intercontinental Koh Samui resort. Our room was like heaven on earth. Absolutely stunning. Huge room. Dyson hairdryer; beautiful bathroom. And the Byredo products are luxurious. Amazing deck with ocean views. The most comfortable bed you can imagine!! The service throughout the resort was service; everyone from the security guard down by the main pool who was always smiling and warm with his daily salute, through to the housekeeping staff and the staff at both reception and the restaurants. “Beauty”, our waitress at breakfast was always so helpful as were Lisa, Pim and Atthi in the lounge. The club lounge is a must. So many amazing treats and ever so special treatment; And now for the spa. 6 star massage therapies, organized by Boom who is so accommodating and helpful. The perfect hostess. Such a warm nature. All the therapists were amazing including Ja. Koy was fabulous also. The Eurasian massage was the absolute best. Loads of pools and pool lounges. Buggies are plentiful and always at your beck and call. Lovely drivers. The fire show is great. The food is lovely. Highly recommend a trip here. We used the gym too which was perfect for our needs. We ate so much we needed it!! We walked in feeling run down and in need of a break. We walked out feeling like a combination of royalty and jelly after so much relaxation. Perfect!!!

Die Anlage ist sehr schön und unser Ferienhaus war sehr geräumig. Das Spa war super schön und die 30 Minuten Massage gratis für unsere Tochter war gut. Das Gym hat eine fantastische Aussicht.

Die Restaurants haben Probleme in Qualität und Zeitmanagement. Die Kinderkarte ist gut gemeint aber auch hier fehlt es an Liebe und mangelt an der Ausführung. Die Lage ist sehr weit weg von allem. Wenn man mehr auch am Abend auswärts essen möchte, empfehlen wir es nicht. Auch eine kleine Tour am Anfang wäre gut gewesen, da wir das Spielzimmer erst am Ende unseres Aufenthalts entdeckt haben.

Superb location , amazing staff led by khun Dao the FOM , great Breakfast led personally by the F& B manager . The most amazing views in the world . Khun pomelo, khun gift outstanding. Very good housekeeping and beach service 10 on 10 Unfortunate could not meet the GM ......

The overall the property was very good 1. The beach. 2. Swimming pool. 3. Restaurants

It needs to be refurbishment

Excellent property but bad food & service. We stayed in beach villas which are right on beach. This was the only good part about the hotel. There India chef and Indian F&B manager does not know anything about hospitality and food. Mainly because none of them have ever worked in India. No dietary preference was ever taken care of, rather we found a hair inside one of there dessert bakery items. To compensate that the hotel forced another dessert on us. The India chef does not even know how to make simple kitchri, dosa, breads or anything. We would have loved to visit the place again as its a excellent property but just due to food and discriminating service, we wont visit again. We feel that If you prefer to stay in top of line beach properties then there are many other options.

Food choices were horrible. Service at restaurants was below average with servers hardly understanding english or taking feedback. Air condition in room was really bad with no cooling at all.

This was my first time visiting Koh Samui, and also my first stay at this resort before it closes for renovation soon. I can honestly say that this resort has the most breathtaking lobby view I have ever experienced among all the hotels and resorts I've stayed at. The uninterrupted panoramic ocean view instantly melted away the fatigue from my journey and created a wonderful first impression. The team here took excellent care of me throughout my stay. I received such a warm welcome from Khun Jan, the Club InterContinental Manager, as well as Khun Markey, Khun Taohu, Khun Arty, Khun Lisa, Khun Latin, and Khun Elle, who even helped me with my room late at night. I also enjoyed the great recommendations and attentive service from Khun Q at Air Bar, as well as Khun Dow (I'm not sure of her position), who personally looked after me during breakfast. Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank the Housekeeping team for keeping my room spotless throughout my stay. When I learned that the resort would soon close for renovation, I felt genuinely saddened. If I return after the renovation, I may not have the chance to see these wonderful people again. They have made this stay truly unforgettable, and this resort has given me memories that I will always cherish.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary here and I would like to say i am very pleased of the team that set up the anniversary gift bracelets and the decorations in the room. It was beyond expectation :)

- Spectacular view of the endless sea and its horizon by the bar, the lounge, the Amber restaurant and 6 (six) swimming pools. A great time to be mesmerized... relax and reflect wherever you may be from the hotel. - Amazing section of nature where you walk up or walk down 165 steps to the poolside or beach or the lobby as a form of exercise or simply view the sea from a different perspective... besides hailing a Buggy. - The beach is good for bare-foot walking and the nearby pier is inviting, with many clicking for social images. Nearby is a well-equipped Gym overlooking the sea, and if weather permits - the glorious sun set for your keeps. - Breakfast was delightful with Thai cuisine included. Its dinning menu is beautifully curated for Lunch and Dinner. The sea will inspire your taste buds. - Most staff was attentive to service and details... although the waiters always mixed up with "paid" water and water you don't need to pay, probably due to language. :)) - A scheduled "fire show" in the evening by the beach was very entertaining. However when it ended, some guests immediately walked away without donating in their box. They were very professional in their dance movement and curatorship. It was a dangerous act. - Finally, the free transportation to several places of interest make every guest happy with their scheduled pick-up time. It's an excellent experience in our 5-day stay in the ocean view room with club access. Everything begins with the warm welcome from Marky! We are impressed with the smile and pamper from all the staff in the Club, Front desk, Amber, Buggy journey, Fitness Centre and the Pool Bar. The room was well maintained with gorgeous seaview. The cloudy weather hid the sunset but the clouds and rains usually came in the afternoon. We thank everyone from team Club for their swift response and protection during sudden heavy rainstorms. The cuisine in Amber was spectacular! We dined in there every morning and 4 out of 5 nights and were still surprised. Flames provided great delicacy too. The humble and warm hospitality from Amber contributed a significant part of our wonderful relaxing journey in the resort.

Les chambres donnent plein soleil et impossible y être à cause de la chaleur. Il manquerait plus de végétation à la plage, sur le long des transats pour donner un peu plus l'ombre et de sensation de fraîcheur. Le bâtiment principal et ses chambres commences à vieillir. Trop de béton. Des éléments naturels manquent.

The view when you arrive is simply breathtaking and it doesn’t end there, every view is spectacular. We stayed in an ocean view room with club lounge access. The room was beautiful, clean and well maintained - the only down side was the AC is very loud even on the lowest setting. Housekeeping was spot on and it was great to be able to request a specific time for our room clean. The club lounge is a separate area of the foyer and the best place to watch the sunset each night. Afternoon tea and evening canapés were great and service was always extra attentive. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, dishes that were freshly cooked were good but most of the other ‘hot’ dishes were on the cold side. The omelette and noodle soup were fantastic though! The spa facilities are some of the prettiest we have visited and the massages were nice. The resort facilities, numerous pools and service were top notch and we will be back next time we are in Koh Samui.

Can not fault our stay from staff to facilities and service

If you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful, friendly resort to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Thai mountains and beaches then this is the resort to be in. Do not stay here if you intend to party. Being a little set off from the more developed and commercial areas of Samui like Chaweng and Lamai this is a place to unwind. We visited with our children and stayed in the family villa. The rooms, the villa, the ambience, the location and the service was fabulous. Morning and Evenings on the villa balcony enjoying the view and the breeze. My only complaint would be that after this the resort in the 2nd half of our trip would feel like a let down. On a serious note the only point of improvement would be the relatively few vegetarian options in the breakfast menu. One special note - the dried local fruits that were put in the room were outstanding. Just one of the small touches that made the entire stay wonderful.

My wife and 22 year old daughter spent a truly beautiful week here in late April/early May. We were married here 30 years ago when it was recently opened as Baan Taling Ngam and operated by Mandarin Oriental. I am delighetd to say that this stunning resort has lost none of its charm or beauty. The entire staff were simply wonderful and warm, the food was exceptional (particularly the excellent breakfast buffet) and the facilities well maintained. We stayed in a 2 bedroom oceanview villa which was just lovely. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough. We will certainly be back. Also, a big thank you to the team for presenting us with a framed collage of photos from our wedding 30 years ago. We were the first wedding here so have always had a special connection to the place and its wonderful people.

Really love it for its Easygoing atmosphere, not those uptight luxury hotel. Beachfront villa was just right for us. Very private beach and nice view. Though not entirely private as we share the garden and beach access with other villas, I never felt unsafe or any invasion of privacy. The working staff seem to be aware and always looked away if they had no choice but to walk past. Service was excellent, especially the warm welcome from Dow and also the care and smile from Lisa. Even Mui from Flames restaurant was passionate to serve. Finally the spa by Harnn was such a treat, we went twice! We had such a great relaxing time, it made us already think of our second visit there.

This is one of those hotels that pay huge attention to details. It is a luxurious resort with fantastic breakfast, comfortable bed, super friendly staff everywhere and jaw-dropping view from the room to start with. It's a very peaceful, zen-like hotel. There are six quite big pools and during our 8 nights stay, there was never more than 6 people on the infinity pool (which I think is the best). The view is incredible. Air Bar has amazing view and fantastic cocktails and drinks. When it comes to details - in the pool areas, on the way to restrooms there is free of charge sun protector and free of charge water. Every 2-3 hours, the guests on the pool receive a complimentary fruits drink (delicious). The day before the departure, the invoice was put on the bed and everything is very clear and transparent (if you stay often in the hotels, sometimes some positions are not clear - here the invoice is very simple which I like). Two very good restaurants, especially The Flames. The room are very spacious and well planned. I love it. If you need peace, quiteness, zen-like environment - this place is for you. Hotel offers lots of attractions for those who need more activities.

Baan Spa (with therapist Koy) was absolutely Amazing! Relaxing environment, excellent technique, I went 4 times!

Hotel is very private and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing stay. The food was delicious and good quality. All of the staff were warm and welcoming, always smiling and happy to help with recommendations and information. Khun Dow, who gave us a small elephant bracelet as a gift for our anniversary. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really made us feel special. When we entered the room, the bed was beautifully decorated and there was a small cake prepared for us as a welcome. The room was spotless, and in the evening the housekeeping even did a turndown service for us, even though we had only checked in not long before. We were genuinely impressed by the attention to detail and overall service. It made our stay even more memorable.

Intercontinental is such a wonderful and hospitable resort! The staff were incredible, detail oriented, and incredibly thoughtful. I especially enjoyed my massage with Koy at the spa - I start off the trip so relaxed! I would love to come back here again.

I can't understand how this hotel gets such good reviews. The restaurants are a complete disaster, and the same goes for the service. I told the restaurant I don't eat pork, and they brought me a salad with bacon... and this happens all the time. The service is simply nonexistent. The rooms need renovation. The restaurant has virtually no alternatives to pork. Two days, pork was the only meat available for breakfast. Overall, the hotel is not worth a visit. It's a sad place for children here. The kids club is very weak and uninteresting. They took our beach bag! 😂 Right as we were leaving the hotel. They said their beach bags would go to the next guests. This is a truly amazing place. It's really weird that the Intercontinental has a hotel like this.

Beautiful large hotel complex with breathtaking views and very friendly staff, especially at breakfast and at the pool bar. Unfortunately, the overall service does not meet a 5-star standard. The management, especially Jan, came across as extremely unfriendly. The reception staff hardly ever smile and are not very helpful, for example when it comes to booking excursions. When I asked Monica something once, I received a rather rude response. She never smiled. I have spent holidays in many 5-star hotels on Samui, but I have never experienced such poor service — both from a management perspective and in terms of general guest support. The lack of assistance when booking excursions was especially disappointing. In general, we had to discuss and argue about many things because we constantly received different answers. Services and arrangements that had been promised by our travel agency were initially refused by the hotel. Manager Jan even gave us a lecture instead of trying to find a solution together with us. Her behaviour was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. She clearly does not know how to handle guest feedback or guests in general The food in the restaurants also does not match the quality we know from other 5-star hotels. Requests are sometimes only handled after several hours and then fulfilled poorly. Guests staying for a longer period are not treated in a special or appreciative way either – many things have to be asked multiple times. A real pity, because the hotel itself has great potential.

After travelling across Asia and staying in several InterContinental properties, arriving in Koh Samui already felt truly special—but what we experienced here went far beyond expectations. The level of hospitality and genuine guest focus is exceptional and clearly sets this resort apart from other five-star hotels. From the very first moment, it felt like coming home to a beloved family. Every detail—no matter how small—was handled with sincere care and warmth, turning each moment of our stay, from the heartfelt welcome to the gracious farewell, into something truly memorable. We will miss staying here next year due to the scheduled major renovation—but this only deepens our anticipation of returning afterwards to experience it all over again. Our heartfelt thanks go to the entire team for creating such a warm and special atmosphere. Special recognition goes to the General Manager, Jane Soergel, whose leadership clearly shines through, to Khun Lek for her indispensable support in critical moments, as well as to our truly wonderful and attentive Club hosts Khun Lisa and Khun Son-O, and the exceptionally polite and impressive trainee Khun Porgy.

Our stay at this hotel had many wonderful aspects, but unfortunately also some clear shortcomings that are not in line with a 5-star standard. The resort itself is beautiful, very well maintained, and offers a great variety—especially the different pools, which are a real highlight. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection and a very appealing presentation. The staff there were exceptionally friendly and attentive. A special thank you goes to Bee Bee and Peem, but truly the entire team did a fantastic job. The club lounge is also highly recommended, with outstanding service and very welcoming staff—especially Arty, who made a lasting impression. The views from the hotel are stunning, and the beach pool is another highlight, not least because of the warm and friendly team working there. The security staff also deserve recognition for ensuring safety when crossing the road with the buggies—especially Joy. The housekeeping team deserves special mention as well: always smiling, incredibly friendly, and providing excellent service. They made us feel welcome and well taken care of every single day. However, there are also several disappointing aspects, especially compared to other hotels in this category. The reception staff in particular were a major letdown. We experienced very unfriendly and unhelpful behavior, especially from Monica and the manager Jan. It is rare to encounter such a level of unfriendliness—from daily unfriendly looks to a complete lack of support when asking about excursions. We ended up having to organize everything ourselves. There was never an explanation on which trips they offer or how it could be. After raising a concern about an excursion (which could not be arranged for three people due to a supposed minimum of four), we received inconsistent and sometimes contradictory responses via chat. In the evening, manager Jan addressed us in a tone and manner that was completely unacceptable. Someone in that position should know that tone matters—it was simply not appropriate. In general, the way management handled inquiries or responded to feedback was difficult and disappointing—not only in direct interactions with Jan, but also via the hotel chat, where communication was often inconsistent and not guest-oriented. We also felt that long-stay guests were not treated as such. There was little to no added value or goodwill extended, which we are used to from other 5-star hotels. At times, it felt as though the focus was primarily on maximizing profit rather than creating a truly guest-centered experience. As I wrote the issue until our day trip with the hotel was organized. It was very disappointing, as we stayed 16 days. There was also a lack of organization in smaller details—for example, it took several hours just to receive a response regarding a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. Communication via the hotel app was also inefficient and frustrating. In other hotels, we are used to a much more personal approach, such as having a dedicated contact person via WhatsApp. Another downside was the large number of children. Of course, the pool is there for everyone to enjoy, but unfortunately many children showed no consideration for other guests—running, shouting, and playing with balls—while the parents did not seem to intervene. Although we had a beach villa with our own pool, we enjoyed using the main beach pool. However, it was often so dominated by this behavior that a relaxed experience for other guests was no longer possible. I like children, but in this case, more awareness, management and consideration of the hotel would have been necessary. Finally, the dining experience did not meet 5-star expectations. The food in the restaurants Amber and Flames was disappointing. It is also a pity that the beach/pool restaurant does not offer any Thai dishes. Overall, the hotel offers a beautiful setting and many positive aspects, but there are clear shortcomings in service and organization that detract from the overall experience.

Ive been here a view times 2016 had the BEST rooftop bar furniture, long comfy sunbeds that gave the most amazing views, u would eat / drink all day and night.... ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT Also on ground floor used to have a fire pit comfy circular furniture facing the view of the ocean... also now gone 😭 Hope u bring the comfortable furniture back, it made the hotel!!! Must be change of ownership-since then, in 2023 the furniture is v.uncomfortaable, didnt stay long, moved on Food is always amazing, service is top notch, views are stunning 😍

Our stay at the Intercontinental Koh Samui Resort was idyllic. The view is amazing and the tone for our stay was set at the outset by staff who warmly welcomed us and provided comprehensive information about the resort. In fact, the staff in general are a key reason our stay was so pleasant. Food in the restaurants is fresh and tasty with menus offering a range of choices. The Club Lounge is wonderful while Spa treatments left us feeling blissfully relaxed. We intend returning in 2027.

We recently stayed at InterContinental Koh Samui Resort and overall had a lovely experience at this beautiful 5-star property. The hotel itself is stunning, with incredible sunset views – although personally, I think I prefer sunrise views as the evenings can still feel quite warm. The setting is peaceful and very picturesque. Our room was gorgeous, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The food across all meals was delicious, and breakfast in particular was truly 5-star, with an excellent variety and quality. The staff were warm and friendly, with a special mention to Gift, who really stood out. The team is very young, and while they are enthusiastic and attentive (repeating orders to ensure accuracy), there were a few occasions where orders were still mixed up. Nothing major, but noticeable at this level that there were limited senior staff to oversee such a young team. This is a 5 star hotel, with 5 star prices and I often saw that the sparkling water was upsold to guests and they had to pay for it which came as a shock to them, (and I saw this on several occassions) I believe that that still water wasn't never a free option, except at breakfast. The Pools were quite warm and not refreshing at all, being April it was hot but other resorts stayed at previously this was not an issue. It’s worth noting that the resort is quite remote and very hilly, with lots of steps. There isn’t much around the hotel itself, and although there is a shuttle service, even a simple outing can take up a good portion of the day. While we did enjoy our stay, the location was a bit too isolated for us. That said, it would be perfect for honeymooners or anyone wanting to completely switch off and relax in a quiet, secluded setting.

We stayed for 5 nights and had a lovely stay. The staff are wonderful and views are amazing! I’d recommend combining a stay here with a stay in another more central location on Koh Samui as it’s very remote and is a long drive to get anywhere. The beach was also not swimmable as it’s very shallow and rocky at this time of the year.

Exactly what we needed! Great room, wonderful pools, excellent food and cocktails, magnificent view and super friendly and helpful staff. It was great to unwind away from the hustle and bustle

We had an amazing time here! My husband and I are frequent visitors to Thailand, but usually visit Phuket. This was our first time in Koh Samui and the Intercontinental Hotel surpassed what we have grown to realise; Thai hospitality is second to none! We would especially like to thank Khun Jane, Khun Natha, Khun Nok, Khun Baifern, Khun Bewty, Khun Natcha, Khun Peem, Khun Lek and Khun Dow! They all showed such care, attention and patience. We will definitely return to visit again soon! Thoroughly recommend this hotel and its staff to everyone - families and couples alike! A true 5 star holiday! Thank you.

Wow!! Where do you begin. The staff were outstanding. They were always on hand to welcome you, ensure your every need was met and the buggy drivers were so kind.The food was delicious with a selection of Thai and Eurasian. The day spa staff were so respectful and the massages were the best I’ve ever had. The pools were sparkling and so clean. A truly magical place to stay. Thank you Intercontinental Koh Samui staff. It truly is paradise.

It was a very nice place for a family holiday

From the moment I walked in, the space felt calm, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed — every detail created such a relaxing atmosphere. It’s one of those places where you instantly feel your shoulders drop. The massage itself was absolutely perfect. Poys was a brilliant masseuse, the pressure was just right. I left feeling completely relaxed, refreshed, and like all the tension had melted away.

Had the most amazing experience at this hotel. Truly stunning location and had the best massage ever too. Such friendly and helpful staff, super attention to detail. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting true 5 star luxury.

Gorgeous views and landscapes, delicious breakfast, fantastic beach front location

The villa where we stayed was a bit tired and could use updating / improvements. The menu at the beach front restaurant was a bit odd and missing good seafood and some Asian options

Location was excellent but not eit is quiet which is exactly waht we wanted. Staff are exceptional - nothing is too much and every single one of them goes above and beyond! Breakfast was lovely too. Entertainment 10/10 particulraly the singer on teh first night who was phenomenal.

We have been 10 Days to the Intercontinental Koh Samui. And we can especally recommend the Flames Resturant and Mr. Mui. He took care of us at the times we have been there and he is very Kind and very competent.

お部屋、ロビー、プール、バー、すべての場所からの眺めが最高！建物は古いがTVは新しくなっていたりと整備がちゃんとされてる印象。スタッフも雰囲気がよくホスピタリティを感じる。

キッズルームの設備がもう少しあれば大満足なんだけど、、、まぁキッズ向けのリゾートではないのでそこは仕方がないかな。

The place to go for all things relaxing. The SPA experiences were next level and Rose and Ja made myself and my Wife feel a million dollars. We had a hiccup with an experience that I won’t go in to details about because the response left us and the other Perrier completely at ease and heard.

Stayed here for 2 nights with our two daughters (6 and 1). The hotel is extremely clean, friendly staff and very relaxing vibe. Pay for the lounge access, worth it. Keep in mind it is a bit out of town and no lifts so we were having to carry the pram up and down. They do buggy service to the beach and pools. Our oldest daughter liked the kids club. Breakfast is also very good. I’d suggest staying here and another part of the island to get a full experience.

Incredible location, best sunset views I’ve ever seen. Property it self was also amazing, excellent rooms, facilities and food! Staff couldn’t have been nicer/went beyond any expectations when they found out it was a birthday stay also.

Nothing to dislike, would highly recommend. It is very much an isolated resort location though just FYI you would need to get taxis etc if you were to explore the island further. Not an issue but may be worth people knowing. We split our time between this stay and other hotels to get more of an experience across the island.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. I have now stayed here three times. It is tropical, secluded and has attractive rooms with a balcony and view right out to the sea. There are world class sunsets here. The best I have ever seen. It is normal to see a fluorescent red ball disappear into the horizon. It is an easy walk to the beach and you will have the beach to yourself.

The staff is the best part of this hotel and what I believe is the reason for the hotels high score. All staff members were really accommodating and welcoming. They were attentive and made so much effort in making our stay as comfortable as possible. The views are also stunning from reception. The breakfast is pretty good and the staff at breakfast were great.

Unfortunately however the property itself is extremely tired. Not what you would expect for a 5 star. The reception area itself has beautiful views but look too close and you can see it’s pretty tired. We had a private pool room which was incredibly spacious however also needing maintenance work. It looked tired. We had ants crawling across our bathroom counter which was a little off putting. The pool area did not have any sunbeds and we were expected to go to the main pool to use them which is counter intuitive of getting a private pool room. Especially as we had a young baby and chose this room so that we could enjoy the pool whilst having the comforts of the room for a young baby. The hotel staff however were kind enough to bring beds for us to use given the circumstance. Again the highlight of the hotel was the staff. The air conditioning didn’t work and we had to call maintenance 5 times. It was only when we demanded for something to be done before we were moved. Which was a shame as I believe they would have just kept sending maintenance if we didn’t push for something else to be done. The room they provided was a room which had maintenance work being done during the day but this did not bother us too much.

Absolutely incredible stay, couldn’t fault a thing. The cliff side villas are huge and have fantastic amenities and views. Very comfortable bed and ample amount of space. The 6 pools are all fantastic with the blue pool and beach pool being our favorite. The staff are fantastic from the security to, cleaners, buggy drivers and concierge. Miu was particularly helpful from the moment we checked in until the moment we left with such a happy smile and always there with the answer's. We don’t want to leave but we will be back one day! It is to close for renovations in 2027 so it will be interesting to see what it will come back as, as I’m not sure how much better it can be!

Super Hotel!

Everything about my stay was top notch. The service was exceptional, beginning well before my arrival through the concierge and trip planning, and continuing through the stay. While Dow in particular was extremely helpful, the entire staff was some of the best I’ve experienced. The rooms are beautiful and the food also is quite good. Though the property is expansive, it is easy to access the buggies to get around. Perfect for a quiet holiday.

We were both warly greeted by Mrs DOW / Saisakul Ratanamarno who kindly solved with exceptional tact an internal IHG check in procedure as we no longer had the original Visa card we payed our 8 nights stay starting Jan 13th, 2026, 6 months ago when we were lucky enough to choose IHG Intercontinental Samui to enjoy a fabulous stay. Our spacious bright Suite 602 boasted a huge terrace overlooking the deep blue ocean bay, not to mention the varied updated breakfast served by an attentive helpful staff with a special mention to the young ARTY from the Club Lounge with whom we developped a pleasant relationship we won't forget soon. IHG Intercontinental Samui is the epitome of the BEST Thailand has to offer in terms of resort service, all with a somptuous setting. Go there and you will be hooked and wish to return for sure. Loved our stay so much - the facilities are amazing and all the staff were so lovely and went above and beyond. The spa was also amazing and Koy was incredible! Highly recommend :)

One of the best stays in a hotel I ever had! We felt very welcomed and any time there was a staff member to take care of whatever you would need. Great location around a mountain, which gives spectacular views. But if you’re not sporty kind, you will be driven around by golfcarts - just call and in a few minutes there’s your service.

Fantastic atmosphere and treatment. Left feeling incredibly relaxed and reset. Aor was an incredible masseuse. Would definitely recommend.

צריך לקחת בחשבון ביחס לוילה על החוף שלפניה יש דשא ציבורי אז היא לא פרטית לגמרי. לא הפריע לנו באמת. עוד דבר שצריך לקחת בחשבון למי שמוגבל בניידות שלמרות שיש באגי ממקום למקום, אי אפשר להגיע לארוחת הבוקר בלי לרדת קומה במדרגות.

My hydrating facial by Ae was absolutely fantastic. So relaxing, and great for my skin. 10/10! I would highly recommend the spa treatments at Intercontinental Koh Samui Baan Thai Spa!

Warm, friendly and personable experience. We loved every minute. The rooms were pristine and the food was amazing! The staff were friendly, always went out of their way and helpful.

this sneaked up on me. wasn’t expecting a lot but got an elevated experience. Great room with balcony to relax on after day by a peaceful pool. No kids at my pool and in high season. Club Intercontinental was excellent. shoutout to Pim & Som O. the hotel doesnt gave anything around it and if you want pure escape this is the place for you. the resort mmight need some upgrades as it has been around a while.

Fantastic resort: Grand View Suite had spectacular views, common areas had stunning views. Stuff had enough range of English for most communication to not be an issue. Food at restaurants and breakfast buffets generously portioned if not inexpensive. Family-friendly, we brought our 9 year old daughter and saw many other families with young kids, not so many as to be concerned about ambience (the resort demographic was evenly distributed in age, family composition and diversity). Those with kids caused no disturbances, no doubt due to good manners likely taught by their families. Room type can perhaps make the difference. Ours was a king type suite with ocean views that one could enjoy while taking a bath in a sumptuous bathtub with the ocean line spanning 180 degrees. Therefore, we can vouch for this room type. Touches of detail made for an overall pampering experience: - The Club lounge offers more-than-appetizers that will satisfy your food cravings throughout the day; the challenge for our family was how to not gain weight from the ample food available to us. - The scavenger hunt for kids resulted in a very large elephant plush prize, the size of which we were astounded. - even a kid sized robe fitting for our 9-year old was in the closet. - The little treats in our rooms and even upon saying no to the turndown service together all made the experience especially pleasant. - The (very many) staff’s English is commendable given that we later stayed at the Ritz on the other side of Koh Samui and did not find comparable quality. Lack of minimal fluency at the Ritz meant frustrations in communication and not being able to get at what we desired, but we did not experience this at the Intercon and instead were pleasantly surprised the stay felt effortless, though I know much thought and detail goes into creating that impression. I was a relatively new Intercontinental platinum member and its benefits, together with this Intercontinental location, will indeed make me seek out more Intercontinental locations in other countries going forward. I have been at several other Intercons but this one is certainly one of it’s best ones globally.

The property is amazing and would have earned my highest rating if not for the smoking. There are no posted signs telling people where they cannot smoke, so they smoke at the pools and the beach. Just awful for us, a family of nonsmokers. I can put up with a lot, but burning eyes and lungs and smelling like an ashtray is unacceptable in today’s world. We ended up spending a lot of time off property and on our balcony. There is nothing worst for a family of non smokers than to be marinated in second hand smoke for a week. If this is not addressed, we will not be back. I do not recommend this resort for nonsmokers or families with children.
