Clean, tidy and fine for our stay

Lovely village pub vibe. On the whole we enjoyed our stay. Nice room, nice location, friendly staff.
Room a bit smaller than expected, sliding / ill fitting door to bathroom so if you like to 'go' privately its a bit embarrassing. Thin walls.. we could clearly hear neighbouring rooms. Bit of confusion among guests over which part of the place is the White Swan and which part is the Mucky Duck, poor bar staff had to keep explaining to different groups.
Clean comfortable and great for our needs.
Very little.
Nice rooms
Lack of parking for hotel guests having to park down the room and carry heavy bags
The room was lovely and clean very spacious, tastefully decorated
Nothing
Clean and comfortable
Nice showers
Small bed
Rustig, zuiver, mooie grote kamer en prima badkamer. Goed restaurant met grote kaart.
Dag ervoor al opgeven wat je voor ontbijt wilt eten.
Nice big bed and a good fan to help cool the room a bit. Very nice shower and amenities like conditioner that most hotels don’t include. Dinner and breakfast the next morning were excellent. Safe locked shed provided for us to lock our bikes in overnight
No issues, a very nice stay
The location was good for me!
Disappointing experience despite requesting a quiet room well in advance I stayed at The White Swan for one night before an early-start motorcycle rider training course at Blyton Park. Three weeks before my stay, I contacted the hotel through Booking.com specifically requesting a quiet room away from the bar, function areas and main road, explaining that I needed a good night’s sleep before the course. I received no response to that request. When I checked in, I asked whether my message had been received. The member of staff wasn’t sure, but I was given the impression that I had been allocated a quiet room. Unfortunately, during the evening there was considerable noise from children in the adjoining accommodation. I appreciate that hotels cannot guarantee complete silence and I wasn’t expecting staff to move me late in the evening, but I called reception because I wanted the issue recorded and hoped the noise could be addressed. The lady who initially answered was perfectly pleasant. However, the second member of staff I spoke to was disappointingly abrupt and dismissive. He repeatedly spoke over me and showed very little empathy or interest in what I was trying to explain. I made clear that my main concern at that stage was not simply the noise, but the manner in which my reasonable complaint was being handled. I don’t expect every request made to a hotel to be guaranteed, but I do expect a request made several weeks in advance to be acknowledged where possible, and I certainly expect a guest raising a reasonable concern to be spoken to courteously. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled has left a poor impression and I would be unlikely to stay here again.
Just about everything especially the staff who very genuinely friendly and helpful. The bedroom was a good size for me as a solo traveller.
Could do with a little re-paint in the stairs and hallways.
Good breakfast, able to pre book the main course the night before.
Room was too hot, noise level unbearable. No fan, manager failed to call me following my complaint.
Polite staff and reasonably priced.
A mess up with the room allocation.
Loved the massive bathroom in the suit, the staff were so helpful and friendly, food was delicious and not over priced.
When entering the room there wasn’t a bad smell but there wasn’t a good one either so it didn’t make you feel like the room was fresh and clean. The room was clean but an air freshener/diffuser would have brought it up a level. Also when first using the shower there wasn’t an eggy drain smell which did quickly disappear.
The breakfast could start a little earlier.
Our room was upgraded as we had requested a bath if possible which was very kind. We ate our evening meal there and the quality and price were excellent. The surrounding village is lovely
The only thing is the 4pm check in which could have been a little earlier - but was fine for us on this occasion.
Clean and good value
First room we where allocated smelt badly of drains, but the staff changed us to another room which was great
Lovely stylish room big bed and beautiful bathroom
Just a little hot in the room
The friendly staff, quiet location, lovely food
Parking is limited, rooms are very warm. A fan is provided, but we brought our own
All Good.
nothing not to like.
Room was fabulous and restaurant was excellent
Excellent value for money and lovely breakfast Staff very friendly
Na
The hotel is unmanned at night so every evening they try and hurry you out of the restaurant and the bar calling last orders at 10.30pm on the Friday night. I stayed in room 7 and the coolers were running all night below my room sounding like a loud generator resulting in me having one hours sleep on the Saturday night! I videoed it so they could see but have done nothing about it yet. I am a repeat traveller but doubtful I will be going again unless they resolve my complaint.
Quant little old fashioned pub out side nice and big and clean reception staff very polite and friendly rooms very clean
Nothing
Very noisy compressor or air con unit underneath room 6 going most of night.
Location
The noisy cellar generator outside my bedroom 8 window at night plus the basin & shower waste did not drain
Ideal for an overnight stay , didn't spend much time in the actual hotel but breakfast was great.
Only issue was the bathroom door didn't stay closed and couldn't be locked ,not a major issue due to the amount of time we spent there but reported on leaving so hopefully it will be sorted
The location was excellent, bed was comfy and the room was clean and modern. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
The room was small, there was no air con and winter quilts. With the weather being extreme 38degs , the room was uncomfortable.
Great value. Clean rooms. Comfy beds and a good pub.

It was boiling hot the day I stayed. A fan or AC in the room would have been nice. Food was excellent with one exception of the sausages which emulsified. You could tell they were quality but the texture wasn't nice at all, because they went grainy. The rib eye burger with pulled pork fries was delicouse.
The sausages in the breakfast. There are a few different things people mean when they say a sausage has "gone wrong": Emulsion breakdown (fatting out) – This is the most common technical term. The fat separates from the meat during mixing or cooking, leaving a grainy, dry, crumbly, or oddly textured sausage. You may see pools of fat in the pan. Mushy or pasty texture – Usually caused by over-processing the meat into too fine a paste, too much added water, or poor-quality meat. Rubbery or bouncy – Often from over-mixing (too much protein extraction), too much binder, or cooking at too high a temperature. Mealy – A dry, crumbly texture where the meat doesn't bind together properly. Spoiled – If the texture has become slimy, sticky, or unusually soft and it's accompanied by a sour or unpleasant smell, the sausage may have gone off and shouldn't be eaten. If you're talking about a sausage that's been cooked and has an unpleasant spongy, springy, almost hot-dog-like texture, people often describe it as having a broken emulsion or being over-emulsified.
I liked my room. I like that there is a restaurant. It was very warm and they provided a fan. This is the only hotel in that area that I a aware of that is lovely and affordable. I feel very safe there. The staff were very nice.
It was exceptionally warm and although I had a fan, an air con unit on a wall would have been better. Breakfast was lovely but there was no healthy option that I could identify. I have high cholesterol and am pre-diabetic and those needs could not be addressed. It was a bit dark in the room. I think a second table lamp would be better. And also there was nowhere to hang a long dress without it pooling in the wardrobe. But I am only saying this because you're asking, I'm not complaining. The one thing I would complain about is the people who brought a small child down to breakfast and treated us all to whining, screaming and crying.
Breakfast good
Not enough choice on continental buffet
Room was clean
Room not so big and Service at breakfast not what it used to be. More an interrogation than a warm welcome. Paid for a superior room but not much evidence of that last night.
Good t
Thing are all good
Lovely clean room
The room was OK, wouldn't say it was Premier. We had a couple of issues, the window and blind were broken and the bathroom sink was blocked. We brought these issues to the attention of Reception staff, the sink was unblocked however the window and blind were unfixed, they did however put a fan in our room.
The walls are very thin, we could hear noise from adjacent rooms and the stairwell
Very welcoming, clean and comfortable, ideal location for us.
Location and parking. Nice bathroom
Room a bit small.
Bedroom and restaurant
Breakfast
I stayed overnight with other members of my car club, heading the following day to a local race circuit. The venue, food and ales were all good, and everyone enjoyed their evening. Breakfast was hearty - a good start to our day. Car parking was ample - a critical and welcome aspect for our cherished sports cars.
Breakfast service was a little slow, but the food was great.
The hotel itself was very nice with comfortable bed and everything you'd expect in the room.
Poor communication. I'd informed the hotel I'd be arriving by bike but was told on arrival there was nowhere to store it. Initial greeting upon arrival was cool with the receptionist more interested in getting outside to vape! Things seemed to be a bit too much effort for many of the staff eg our groups request to move a booked two seater table to our six seater table a distance of about 2 metres! Not all staff were unhelpful, there were exceptions. The continental breakfast was one of worst I have ever had with undrinkable coffee, though dinner was excellent.
Comfortable bed and clean all around room and areas.
Car park was small for the amount of people staying and eating there.
Kyle was absolutely lovely and helped us check in and put our bags in our room early, really accommodating and friendly. The restaurant is also lovely - made an error on my order so gave me a free glass of wine for the inconvenience. Happy days!!
Who seemed to be the manager (older asian man with glasses) seemed quite abrasive and reluctant to help on arrival but Kyle swiftly took over and helped us :) Is also impossible to get a taxi in this area so you have to drive everywhere - don’t visit if you don’t drive and want to go anywhere!
Atmosphere and Staff
We stay here every year for an event we attend nearby and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The staff are amazingly helpful and the hotel is fantastic value for money. The rooms are always clean and great, with a lovely restaurant.
Quiet location, parking, friendly staff. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable. Very comfortable bed and pillows.
The bathroom was so hot it was like a sauna. It made the bedroom hot even with the windows open.
Always a great place to stay. Great food as usual. Parking is Ok and if the car park is full, you can park in the adjoining road. Rooms aren't very big, but they are adequate and modern.

Beautiful location.
Smell from the pipes and noisy above the kitchen. Constant sound of fans. But staff moved my parents when informed about the smell.
Fabulously comfortable room - bed was great and I got an excellent night's sleep, the lighting is soft and not overpowering and the bathroom was spotlessly clean with endless hot water on tap. For a quick overnighter, The White Swan is excellent value and hard to beat!
Restaurant felt rushed (bar closed at 10pm) and the staff were hurried; a bit more care and attention would have been lovely.
The staff are brilliant with clean rooms and excellent food
Everything was fine
The bed was very comfy and big
We found the bathroom was very smelly we could smell the drains we told the cleaner in the hallway and she said yes it does smell in that room so we won't stay in that room again the evening meal was nice though
Staff were welcoming
Small and tight room. Lighting Limited for working
Dinner was excellent with plenty of variety and at a good price. Staff were very attentive and polite. Breakfast was very good. The room was spacious and comfortable.
Room was a little cold, I could not adjust the heating in the room.
The room was lovely and clean and the staff where very friendly
It was too hot making it hard to sleep
GOOD FOOD
Staff excellent - really friendly & helpful. Room good - but TV didn't work so well, channels were all mixed up & static interference with signal. Even though room clearly booked for 3 people we only ever get 2 cups & 2 glasses - happens every time we stay here - so annoying as have to go to reception each time to ask for more. otherwise all good & good value for money
Not enough cups / glasses provided - such a simple thing that could be so easily managed
Lovely setting, great friendly staff. Would vist again & recommend 😊
Nothing, everything was great!!
Check in was very easy, well signposted. Friendly staff, quiet area and modern fixtures/fittings. Room was very comfortable and absolutely perfect for a short stay.
Fijn hotel, ruime kamer en een heerlijke restaurant
Kamers beetje gehorig
Food is excellent quality and good sized portions. Slept really well in our room.
Nothing not to like
it’s central location for what we need nice bar area good food
a bit stingy on the bics in the room , 1 pack ( 2 bics ) for 2 people !!
Very clean & friendly & helpful staff . Really good breakfast
It was a little bit dim lighting wise in the bedroom
Personnel agréable et restaurant sympa, chambre spacieuse et bień équipée
Les chambres sont très mal isolées, on entend tout !
The room was good though the bathroom a little small
Breakfast was appalling. The food was low quality. The buffet table wasn’t replenished regularly with guests repeatedly having to ask for stuff. Only one staff doing the front desk, meeting guests for breakfast and serving food.
The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel had a relaxing atmosphere, and the restaurant served excellent food. Would happily stay here again!

The staff were very friendly and efficient and the location was excellent
The photos on the website are very misleading as I paid for an executive king room and was expecting a walk in shower and roll top bath but only had a shower over a small bath. It needs to be clearer what the facilities are in each room .
Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was really comfy, bathroom was spacious.
Only niggle was lack of power socket adj. to the bed.
Lovely food and staff
Some of the rooms smelt damp
Room decor. Restaurant menu. Parking.
Room heating. Thermostat didn't work, so room was FAR too hot. Radiator knobs could not turn. Nobody at reception to ask for help.
The staff were all very friendly.
Evening meal and the breakfast could have been a lot better. Our room should have been cleaner and had a strong industrial type smell, which remained for our whole stay.
Lovely hotel
Breakfast was disappointing coffee was awful let the hotel down needs to be changed
Everything, staff are excellent
nothing
Food and service excellent
Nothing really, maybe more hangers in the wardrobe than 2 though!
