Glenbervie Bed & Breakfast

Lovely quiet premises in a country setting but close to town. Lorraine and Gerald were wonder hosts and presented the premises very well and spotlessly clean. If visiting Whangarei again we would definitely stay there again.

Only issue was the shared kitchenette was a bit small when all units were occupied and TV was very difficult to operate . Maybe a clearer instruction leaflet would help.

Private, clean, comfortable and Lorraine went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Thank you

Outstanding presentation

This was a very large comfortable room with friendly hosts. Air conditioning helped us address the higher than expected temperatures.

Breakfast was limited.

It was almost like a farm stay except flower growing is in the past now. It was quiet and walks were very nice.

Because it was isolated, it took a while to reach restaurants of an evening. But we wanted isolation so one cannot have it both ways.

From the tree lined driveway that meandered through beautiful gardens this BnB was surrounded by lovely trees and bushes which I’m sure must look magnificent through spring. Continental breakfast was ample with yogurt, cereals, fresh fruit and baked goods. And home made cookies. Yum!

Die Unterkunft wirkt absolut neuwertig und ist sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig eingerichtet. Alles ist super sauber und das Badezimmer ist toll! Dieses B&B liegt etwas außerhalb von Whangarei, wir haben hier die Ruhe in sehr gepflegter Umgebung genossen. Die Gastgeber sind super nett. An dieser Stelle nochmals ein herzliches Dankeschön an Euch, Lorraine und Gerald!

We loved our stay here. Lorraine and Gerald are very friendly welcoming. Their beautiful and very clean house is surrounded by greenery, it is quite and idyllic. Perfect-sized room with ensuite and shared kitchen.

Loved the breakfast, the fresh muffins were yummy. Hubby and friends loved having a decent coffee, I dont drink coffee, but it smelt nice. Loved the lounge part, meant we could all relax and have a good chat. Not sure how it would work if the 3rd bedroom was being used.

The weather, but u couldnt do much about that. Would loved to have a walk around, but the weather prevented that!

Our bedroom was generous in size & space, with a walk-out to a patio and a lovely ensuite bath.

Great place, great location and great hosts! Lorraine and Gerald certainly went out of their way to make our stay feel like a home away from home. The room was large and airy and the bed was very comfortable. Air con in the room as well which was very useful at times. Breakfast is served in a guests only dining / sitting room which also has a small kitchen area that is very well equipped. So, if you are like us and don’t want to eat out every night, there is ample facility to prepare a snack type meal using the microwave provided. There is ample parking. It is only a short drive into Whangarei with all the amenities that the place has to offer, but is far enough away to be totally private and secluded. All in all, full respect to Lorraine and Gerald, you’ve nailed it!! Top drawer B & B.

When we booked I thought breakfast wasn’t included. It was, we’re grateful. Hosts are delightful. The home was spotless and the room and allocated area was exceptional. Parking is a bonus. We truly could not fault this stay and as I sit in another BnB I wish I was back in Glenbervie’s exceptionally comfortable high quality mattress. We highly recommend this BnB and will stay here again. Thank you

Everything was absolutely top class. Our 3rd stay here and would come again. Beautifully appointed suite in lovely settings. Hostess was great too.

Facilities were of a high standard and environment garden picture perfect.Ease of access but key would not work the lock later - neighbour assited .

Breakfast was disappointing . Essential to be Fresh and not used. Butter -margarine was empty and scrapings from numerous days use and milk was used -left open . Coffee machine produced a quarter cup . For Bed andBreakfast not any where comparible with others enjoyed 6 weeks ago in Taupo and Cambridge.

Well there is nothing to dislike, only wished we could have stayed longer.

The room was new, tastefully furnished with comfortable seating and a very comfortable bed. Ample room for suitcases on a long shelf in the wardrobe.A spacious modern bathroom. Lockable door into the shared hall, dining and kitchen space with motion sensor lights in the hallway. Pretty garden area/patio outside the entrance to the room. Parking was close to the accommodation area - only a few steps to the entrance. The air conditioning was much appreciated in the hot weather. A little bit of luxury in the middle of a long journey North. Thank you!

The owners were lovely and friendly and really helpful. The location wasn't close enough to walk anywhere, but I doubt that anyone would be arriving here without a car and it was lovely and peaceful. The room was immaculate. A really good sized room and very comfortable bed. Really excellent. The breakfast was continental and ok, but wasn't substantial and I would have loved some orange juice. Overall though, a pretty good stay

The B&B was excellent, lovely setting with beautiful gardens and old trees around the grounds. The room was very well appointed with nice bedding and lovely, fluffy towels along with an outstanding shower . We had absolutely everything we needed for a good nights rest during our travels . Lorraine and Gerald were wonderful hosts and the bonus was Monty the cat, who greeted us when we arrived.

I loved just how welcoming they both were. Made us feel comfortable and safe. The breakfast was amazing and beautifully presented. The fluffy cat is such a bonus cutie

- Lorraine was an absolutely lovely host who gave us good recommendations for sight seeing. - The continental breakfast was perfect and served at a time that suited us best. - Exceptionally comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. - The TV had a variety of channel options. - Ample parking with an easy walk to the room. - Cleanliness exceeded our expectations! - We loved all of the attention to detail in our room!

- Takeaway recommendation was much further away than perceived (40 minutes drive there and back).

The place is well marked in maps so it was easy to find. Smooth check in/out, simple communication with the host The host was very nice, showed us our room and the breakfast/living room and all details. The place is a bit secluded but so peaceful and quiet and beautiful, perfect b&b to relax while watching the nice garden around or explore Whangarei and surrounding. The rooms are freshly renovated, so spacious, comfy bed, pretty bathroom, nice sliding glass door to go to chill in the cute blue chairs on the terrace.

The breakfast was tasty but rather basic. There could have been served for example orange juice or ham.

A calm and serene place of utmost comfort with a luxurious setting. Gerald and Lorraine are the bestest hosts we've ever met. Great place just out of city hustle bustle but yet very accessible to town. A great location that allows you to experience marinas, good food, walks, beaches within a short drive. Lovely little breakfast spread. A great garden to take a quick stroll and even have a glass of wine outside. Fabulously comfortable bed, great shower and sparkly clean.
