Het was een mooi hotel gelegen in een rustige buurt. Er waren voldoende restaurants dichtbij.

De badkamer in de vrouwenslaapkamer was zeer vuil. Ik sliep er 3 nachten en gedurende deze tijd is de badkamer geen enkele keer gepoetst geweest. Dit is echt niet oké in een slaapzaal voor 10 personen.

I like how the place is conveniently located next to restaurant arcade and other shops. The neighborhood was also peaceful as they are located inside a guarded subdivision. The place has a mix of ethnic and industrial vibe which I like and the staff is nice an welcoming.

There are broken things inside the room but not so much of a big deal.

Its strategic location within the city (walking distance to amenities and strip malls) and how kind and considerate the staff were! The one in charge of communicating with us for the booking made it very easy for us to do early checkin, leave our baggage securely at the front desk, and use the amenities even after checkout with no additional cost.

The door for the bathroom was made out of cardboard and was broken. The room and bathroom were dirty. People were making smoothies after 10pm right next to the bedroom when we were trying to sleep.

2nd time staying here. And and update to the aircon situation at the dorm. The temperature was much better this time. Bathroom cleaner too. I discovered a laundry place and massage parlor right outside the private subdivision where eia is. Love that. It was also quiet. Just what i needed.

The decor is lovely. I grew up in Cebu so entering the space felt like dimension hopping. City to peaceful haven in a sec! Staff are kind and warm. The yoga studio is beautiful. It looked more like a yoga chapel. The one class I attended was amazing! They have classes everyday. There’s a restaurant nearby that serves pasta and pizza. Walking distance to Banilad Town Center for more food and drink options. Grocery. Julie’s bakeshop for the win! Toilet is clean. Quiet. Nice energy.

I stayed in the female dorm and the first night, the air freshener was too strong. I had a hard time sleeping. I used my eye cover over my nose. There is no airflow. Also, the aircon i think needs servicing. It was not cold. Shower pressure is weak and the shower drain needs a deep clean. The smell is unpleasant.

Love the location, its situated in a safe and secured and peaceful subdivision. I love the design of the hostel, they also conduct yoga classes upstairs. I also love the fact that they serve high protein smoothie. The staff are friendly and nice, they always greet you with a smile. The owner with her cute kids is also present in the hostel, she's so nice.

Bathroom trash could have been disposed everyday. Other than that, everything is all good.

Great staff and owner. Laid back and calm, central and just the place to be. Private room is quite affordable if you want that. Cool interior and even a possible house dog 🐕 (puppy named Dartanion if I remember correct)

You should just be aware that Google maps and the building sign may still say "Flying Fish Boutique Hostel". You should find "Eia by Dawata" on Google maps by now.

Michael and his team are doing great. The rooms were comfy and well-maintained. The property is undergoing renovations at the moment but it was no bother at all. The people here go above and beyond to make everyone's stay smooth and enjoyable. Although they have yet to have a functioning bar, there are stores nearby for your drinking needs. The pool is quite a treat especially during a humid day. Can't say enough about Mike and everyone who makes this place run. They're awesome people and I will definitely come back!

Everything was great here except the absence of soundproofing, since my room was right by the reception area. I got woken up during the night and the early morning. Otherwise, nice rustic decoration and friendly staff.

Perfect clean room, very comfortable bed.. New and good air conditioner. Good lights, sockets. Very good cleaning. Friendly staff.

1) They don't have WiFi in private room, that's sad. WiFi available only near reception in common area. 2) if you have motorbike, you need to pay something like 200-300 peso per night. It's crazy. It's almost like price for rent motorbike. Just for parking... Really crazy, i saw it first time in my life. 3) if you want to extend and pay by cash, they don't accept price from booking. Without online payment more expensive. It's uncomfortable:(

I like that it is conveniently located to almost everything in the city and how friendly their staff.

I understand that it is a shared bathroom but it really needs improvement in terms of cleanliness and the facility itself.

Stayed in private room. Bed was comfortable, check in was easy. Water available at property.

Room was very dark. Ok for one night but hostel was not social at all. Has signs that the hostel was closing so might be due to this.

My stay at this hotel was disappointing. The staff were unwelcoming, the facilities were not well-maintained, and cleanliness was lacking. Worse, the place was so noisy that we couldn’t get a good night’s sleep. For the price, I could have booked a much better hotel, but it was a last-minute choice—one I truly regret. I wouldn’t recommend this property and won’t be staying here again.

Location was close to many shops and restaurants. Pool was nice and staff did help when needed. Private room was quite big/a lot of space

Our AC broke in first room so was moved to a second room, only to find no toilet seat and a broken shower (which was fixed eventually). Bathrooms need renovations as quite old and broken down. Staff were asleep at the front desk one afternoon, ‘quiet time’ is from 10pm however you can hear everything from the rooms and music was being played quite loud at 11.30pm in the lobby despite barely seeing guests outside of their rooms. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable and a lot of bugs flying around the room, leading to bug bites every night!

Nice cheap place with a cool pool and other amenities. The dorm is what you would expect, pretty clean and the beds are comfy.

The room I was in was not suitable. I had to change rooms due to some problems with the hygiene, but they did move me on the second night to a different room after I encountered the problem again.

Flying Fish is an excellent budget-friendly dorm! The rooms are clean, the staff is incredibly accommodating, and the rates are affordable. It's also conveniently located near various establishments, making it a perfect choice for travelers or backpackers. Highly recommend!

- Location (lots of restaurants and good coffee) + safe with a little checkpoint you have to pass through - industrial style, very nice architecture - spacious room - the towel provided is of good quality - very good price-service-ratio - friendly staff I spent 2 nights here

- wifi in the room was rather weak - personally I prefer the bath + toilet to be outside the room (noise) - the aircon in the room is insane. I had to sleep with a pullover.

Room smelt damp, unhelpful reception staff when looking for food who sent us to the mall that was shut.

The location is near to the airport and the property is in a gated society.

I stayed there for 3 nights and for all the 3 nights I was alone in the dorm room. Also on my last night when I came back from my tour the staff told me that they have shifted my things to some other room as some other big group had booked for the night. It was very annoying to know that they have moved my stuff without my permission. Also you cannot lock the bathroom door from inside.

Comfy beds to recover from our journey to the Philippines. Easy accessible location with plenty to do in the neighbouring area.

Second night the staff partied loud till 5 AM, short night for us. But understandable as it was Rizal day and close to Newyears

The single room was spacious and almost entirely noise proof. The AC was switched on before I entered the room which I appreciated. The staff were extremely accommodating and super friendly.

The photos advertised show windows with lovely light coming in. All windows have been painted over.

Staff helpful at all times, available 24/7. Helpful with suggesting around Cebu city. Everything clean. Shampoo and other soaps were provided. Airco worked perfectly. Nice common area. All in all perfect for the price

Nice cheap basic place to stay with friendly staff

Staff was super friendly, accommodating and flexible. I arrived at 3am which was no problem with the 24h reception.

Despite most rooms being booked I didn't come across any other guests. Not a very socialble place if that's the hostel vibe you are looking for.

The lobby’s interior makes you think it’s really well thought out. The shared dormitory was clean and cold. The location of the hostel is pretty accessible for other city roam you’re planning. The staff are all accommodating so you won’t have a bad time asking for help or anything.

Wished the lockers were fixed and more secured. The wifi in the dormitory room is sometimes spotty.

The staffs are nice and accommodating but the place is crappy. There’s no hot shower, and most of its listed inclusions were not there like I had to ask for tissues and such. I expected more because of its price. The bed was uncomfy as well, hard pillows and very thin blanket. There were loud noises too! They had to fix their termite problems while I was staying in my room. It was awful. The bidet was also leaking so the bathroom’s floor was always wet. The place has poor lighting and not well ventilated. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you wish to have a nice sleep and relax.

The location is excellent, with a department store, supermarket, massage parlor, and restaurants nearby. The front desk staff, both male and female, are very polite.

The bathroom in the double room had a strong smell of urine. When I lifted the toilet seat, I found it was covered with urine from the previous guest…. Additionally, they do not provide a hairdryer, which is very inconvenient for backpackers.

First impression, the hotel & room was warm, woody, dark toned & private however there were not much costumer checking-in. It was situated in the heart of Mandaue city where everything was accessible within 300 meter from the main road, although sometimes with a bit traffic during mid-day to afternoon, It was walkable since it's inside a posh subdivision; then the reception was friendly. There is a pool which is a nice touch. Our room was okay and livable with a comfortable bed. The warm and cold shower works well. Air-con is working as expected which is split type, it gets cold quickly since the room is a bit small for the size. Closet was decent size, able to hang some clothes. Beddings, pillow, towels, tissue, soap and shampoo were provided. I like the ambiance. It's for backpacking traveler like style of a hotel.

The thing that i don't like about is the expectation of the advertised room photo i saw online compared with the actual room they gave us, it was inaccurate. The place was tiny as if we were assigned to a temporary make shift room. When we walked by the hallway other rooms was a bit better and size was adequate but the price online was not much different with our room. seems like if you have discounted price you get the tiny room comparing to paying regular price. Our room was a bit creaky, since it was made of wood and the main door was wobbly, no door knob; it was replaced by a deadbolt so theres no way you could close the door without locking it with a key, there was even a tiny gap which someone can just peep thru. Next would be the bathroom although it was simple and working as expected the floor angle was not made well, it will not allow the water to flow thru the drain thus pooling near the toilet bowl floor. The water bidet was a bit loose it will just fall to the floor. The toilet floor in general accumulates dirt easily which is annoying since our feet were clean. There were no table to study or eat, and no chair to sit on, btw it was included in the advertisement that it has table and chair, only available was a side table. Lastly, there were no option to turn on a bright main light only those dim yellow ambient lighting. Overall our room was awkwardly inadequate, left out compared to other regular rooms which is way more proper.

It's a cool little hostel, it has a very gritty vibe - exposed concrete, mismatched furniture. The staff are really laid back and friendly. It's also down a secure street which is nice.

There used to be a cool little karaoke bar/restaurant there, that's closed now. So it's had a big impact on the vibe, it feels a bit dead now. The shower had zero pressure and the main road nearby is really hectic.
