Reviewed Sep 19, 2026Les repas (dîner et petit déjeuner) étaient exceptionnels. Les onsens privatifs sont un avantage pour les personnes tatouées et/ou pudiques. Les personnel était très chaleureux.
Les futons étaient un peu trop fermes.

Reviewed Sep 9, 2026價格便宜，是非常日式的旅店，乾淨、復古，停車方便。 餐點是日式料理，內裝有重新整理過，不會讓人感到很老舊的感覺，打地鋪，想體驗日本道地感的推薦。
浴場在大門對面，很近有四間，家庭一起洗，可以自行拿牌去洗，但下雨就不方便，但可以接受。 最不滿意應該是WiFi 超慢吧～笑

Reviewed Sep 8, 2026Je recommande si vous êtes à Aso ! Une « auberge » mais plutôt chic, avec plusieurs Onsen privatif (douche dans les onsens), parking, proche des lieux d’intérêts. Le lavabo et toilettes sont dans la chambre, ce qui est pratique. Il y a un grand parking. Enfin, nous avons pris un dîner et un petit déjeuner de l’auberge : je vous le recommande vraiment. Le prix est un peu plus élevé qu’un restaurant « classique » mais c’est gastronomique et très copieux, je recommande !

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026Wir waren nur für eine Nacht hier und haben das gastronomische Angebot nicht genutzt. Bei den Onsen handelt es sich um 4 Familienbäder zur privaten Nutzung. Sie müssen nicht im Vorfeld reserviert werden, sondern können je nach Verfügbarkeit spontan genutzt werden. Parkplätze vorhanden. Frühstücksmöglichkeit gegenüber. Nettes Personal.

Reviewed Aug 24, 2026とにかく料理が美味しかった！夕食はおばんざいや小鉢など様々な料理を楽しんだあとに焼肉がどーんと登場するので、かなりボリュームがあります。お腹を極限まで減らしておいたほうがいいです。 記憶がちょっとあやふやですが、サーロインとあともうひと種類のお肉がでます。お酒も楽しめますが、サワー系やカクテル系はありません。焼酎や日本酒梅酒を楽しむ感じです。 居室もとても綺麗でした。広々としているし民宿というより旅館という感じでした。アメニティは基本全部揃っています。お風呂も綺麗でとても快適でした。 ただ夕食後は混むので早めにチェックインしてのんびり入るのをおすすめします。 スタッフの方もとても親切で良い旅になりました！
2階の足音が1階にとても響く点だけちょっと惜しかったかなと、、、 恐らく子供連れのご家庭だったのでしょうが、走り回ったり飛んだり跳ねたりの音が夜と早朝聞こえていました。 うちに神経質なメンバーがいなかったため「鬼ごっこしてんちゃう？」くらいですみましたが、ゆっくり寝たい方にはとても辛いと思います。普通に歩く分には問題ないので、張り紙などで注意書きをしておいて下さると良いのではないかなーと思いました。 それと個人的希望で恐縮ですが…自販機がビール1種類と普通の飲み物系の2つだったので、アイスとか、、あると嬉しいです、、！！売店がなかったので…！本当に気になる点はそれくらいです！

Reviewed Jul 22, 2026C'était une vraie auberge traditionnelle : 4 onsens pour toutes les chambres donc il faut s'organiser et vérifier que c'est libre pour aller se doucher. Il y a quand même un lavabo et des WC dans les chambres. Et puis aussi de quoi se faire du café et du thé dans la chambre qui est assez spacieuse. Les repas étaient excellents et copieux. C'était très calme et les gens vraiment très gentils.
Les futons étaient peu épais et donc c'est dur quand même pour le dos. Il manque des rideaux occultant donc on se réveille tôt avec le jour.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026Le personnel de ce minshuku est vraiment top, très attentionné et prévenant du début à la fin du séjour. Le bain chaud (onsen) est un vrai moment de détente, très agréable, parfait pour se relaxer après une journée à explorer la région d’Aso. Côté repas, on a été bluffés : les dîners et petits-déjeuners sont copieux et généreux, avec de bons produits locaux, on ne pouvait clairement pas repartir sur notre faim.
Petit bémol sur le petit-déjeuner traditionnel japonais : composé de plats plus typiques (poisson, soupe miso, etc.), il peut surprendre ou ne pas convenir à tout le monde si on est habitué à un petit-déjeuner plus occidental. Mais ça reste un détail de goût personnel, et l’expérience globale était vraiment chouette, on garde un très bon souvenir de ce séjour.

Private onsen available on a first come first serve basis, which was really nice. Free parking was also available. I would definitely recommend Asogen.

Reviewed Jul 11, 2026Authentiek japans verblijf. Wij verbleven in de familiekamer met 4 volwassenen en dit was aangenaam en comfortabel. Hebben vooral genoten van de privé Onsen en het typisch Japans ontbijt en rijkelijk diner. Zeer vriendelijke bediening.
Als westerling is het wennen aan dunne futons om op te slapen. Dit was voor ons deel van de Japan ervaring en viel uiteindelijk best mee.

Reviewed Jul 8, 2026This Ryokan had an excellent host who made us feel very welcome, even giving us a lift to Aso station and advice when we were leaving as there was a sudden torrential rain shower and we were on foot. The onsen was joyous in the evening after hiking around the nearby volcano. We had breakfast and dinner, both were magnificent feasts from professional kitchen staff. Top quality establishment!
Nothing, but we found it strange that it was advertised as a budget hotel, even though the quality was so high! Perhaps a mistranslation on Google maps..

We had done the rest of our trip on a tight budget and splashed out a bit here for this experience, and it was well worth it. The room was lovely and gave us what felt like a more authentic and traditional Japanese experience. The private onsen was good too, and something we would otherwise not have had the opportunity to try.

Reviewed Jun 21, 2026Spacious room, enough for 6 adults. Very traditional looking. Free parking. No in-room bathroom, but they have the public use onsen suitable for family baths, which was quite confortable. Ordered dinner and breakfast for one night, which was very tasty and good portion size!
As we were only given futons to sleep on, it was a bit hard if you are not used to it.

Un gran punto a favor es que puedes disponer de forma privada del Onsen para ir con tu pareja sin que te separen entre hombres y mujeres como ocurre en la inmensa mayoría de los hoteles japoneses. Mi mujer durmió bien, pero yo que soy bastante alto (me gusta dormir boca abajo con pies colgando por el fondo de la cama) y que me tengo que levantar un par de veces para ir al baño, no puedo decir lo mismo. Por lo demás, se encuentra perfectamente ubicado para visitar el monte Aso y todos los miradores de esta esplendida zona.
Que el futón se me quedaba pequeño, que acabe con dolor de tobillos y que cada vez que me levantaba para ir al baño parecía un muerto levantándose de la tumba.

Futons recht dünn…. Hüftschmerzen. Das Essen wurde recht hektisch serviert. Die Atmosphäre des privaten Speiseraumes wurde zudem durch den im Hintergrund laufenden Fernseher beeinträchtigt.

Reviewed May 26, 2026This was a very pleasant experience. The property is next to the road and very easy to find. Both breakfast and dinner were extremely tasty and delicious, a true feast. The staff was kind and welcoming, and the baths were very clean. Overall a great stay.

The guesthouse doesn't provide vegetarian food, so we had to eat out for all meals. Though they did advise us of this in advance.

The location was a challenge without a car. The bus only comes a few times a day so we had to rely on taxis. They only had a public bath no onsen.

Reviewed Apr 7, 2026Very spacious rooms (we did book the family-sized as it was the only one left available but that meant we had lots of space). Traditional aesthetic was nice. Ample parking. The onsen was great to use.
It was a little tired, it felt like it could do with a bit of rejuvenation. En suite toilet was great but no shower, so you do have to use the onsen space to wash (which is mostly fine, but it does have specific hours of use, and we felt it would have been better if they were available for slightly longer than they were, especially in the morning).
