The staff and the surrounding are was awesome. The building itself needs some attention.
do not know did not have pets with us.
This place looks and feels like it has not been updated in over a decade. While the restaurant staff were friendly and the food was good, there was a distinct lack of organization to our check in and check out. We paid upon check-in. Definitely falsely advertised as a quality hotel. This is a restaurant /bar with rooms immediately upstairs. Filthy carpets, sticky doors and terrible smells. The knob on the shower broke off in my hand and just dribbled. There was so much built up dust or mould in the room that I had to use my rescue inhaler for an asthma attack. Despite the place having overnight guests, the bar was booked for an 18th birthday party with a DJ that was so loud, we could hear the lyrics clearly upstairs, and it did not stop until 1AM. There was no warning that this would happen, nor opportunity to change our booking when we arrived. It's been 24 hrs since I messaged the property and no reply. I don't understand how this place is allowed to call itself a hotel.
The hotel is value for the price. The location is next to the bay which is nice. The food is good. The only comment is the room need a bit of maintenance.
Great location. Good food and friendly staff. Building in general is in need of tlc and investment.
Kind of run down, carpets kind of dirty, beds were clean, staff were good, there was a nice view of the bay on one side, but the road was right on the other side with some loud traffic. It was sufficient for our needs for arriving late and just needing a place to sleep and breakfast was hot food made to order and cold options, but overall I'm not sure I'd recommend it to anyone except for one night stopover.
Great Bar staff, unfortunately room was poor, severe electrics problem, no hot water for a shower, asked for poached eggs at breakfast, came back 10 minutes later with the breakfast, no eggs, told they didn't work!.
This place is TRULY so precious! If you’re looking for a GENUINE IRISH EXPERIENCE then look no further! The rooms and entry way could use a little TLC, but the staff and the ppl were so amazing and accommodating! The breakfast area overlooking the beautiful water was the perfect wake up call after spending a lively night in the pub in the next room over. Highly Recommend!
No hot water on second morning, found mould on toast
I wasn’t able to stay here due to booking complications, but the staff were so friendly and helpful and very efficient at sorting things out for us.
Staff were very friendly. Really nice that they are pet friendly. Place is a bit dated, but our stay was comfortable enough
When I arrived, I had to go into the bar to find a staff person to check me in. The young woman was friendly and asked me to sign in to a spiral notebook. She showed me to my room and then returned to the bar. The hotel itself was pretty rundown. The carpet was filthy, especially on the stairs. The hallway had an unpleasant odor that smelled like vomit. In our room we discovered a crib which we didn't need. The room was dated but the bedding appeared clean. I needed some additional assistance for a personal matter, from the attendant, and she did go above and beyond to help me out which I appreciated immensely. There is a complimentary full-service breakfast served in the morning which was a nice amenity. There was only one staff member there doing it all. He was waiting the tables, cooking the food and managing any check-outs. I had to wait from him to finish waiting tables to pay my bill. There really isn't a front desk, so I had to follow him into the bar to settle my tab. Overall it was a safe place with hard working staff. The hotel was somewhat rundown, outdated and dirty. I wouldn't stay here again.
Excellent
The pair in charge of this property were very pleasant and the property is well situated between Glengarriff and Bantry. The cooked breakfast was quite good and the support staff were friendly and helpful. That’s the good. The music played downstairs is far too loud for the paper thin walls. The music did not go off until close to 1am on our second night making sleeping an impossibility. The rooms have inadequate tea/coffee facilities and there was no hot water when we arrived for check in in the early evening. Check in also isn’t until 6pm which is not so convenient. The rooms are OK but definitely in need of modernisation. The place has heaps of potential but definitely need a little investment.
Really tired accommodation. Everywhere needed redecoration and carpets needed cleaning. No hot water. Whatsoever during stay due to boiler problem and no refund offered. On plus side, however, the full Irish breakfast was excellent
Great staff!! The pub was a lot of fun!
My experience of the Hotel was great Michelle and Liam were fantastic nothing was to much trouble, the Hotels location and the grounds were incredible what a lovely place and a truly wonderful stay well done to all the staff
This is a convenient hotel directly off the road in. It was the least expensive accommodations available and the best part of the stay was our view. I would only book if I was on a tight budget or it was our only option. The rooms were dated and the check-in at the pub was not clearly stated leaving us to do a bit of searching for that.
Location beautiful, interesting little spot
Nice clean room with a view of river. I could only find one bar/restaurant here and it was not very cozy.
Beautiful view, nice hotel, basic amenities but everything that you would want and good value
Entryway for after hours cluttered; not well maintained place.
Nice location but the hotel is in need of more than just a bit of tlc.
Nice location
The place was clean but very old and dated..
The staff were lovely, the location is lovely and the food was lovely. The only downside is that the place has been let run down.
What a lovely location. Stunning views and an ideal place to stop to wander through some of the beautiful sites in West Cork
Wasn't our best stay... nice water view but the building and rooms need a refresh and good cleaning. Noices from the road and parties. Food and breakfast are ok.
We had a two night stay at the Ovanne. which we found very pleasant. everyone was so accommodating and easy especially aa we also had our dog with us.all the staff were very welcoming and kind to us. Brendan cooked wonderful irish breakfasts. i will be coming back again as its a great location and has everything you need for a pleasant stay
Staff was amazing, room clean and cozy
A fantastic hotel in a stunning location with great breakfast and a warm and friendly staff
Great location but needs upgrading the facilities big time.
View was georgous. Staff were charming.
Bnb with lovely waterviews. Comfy beds. Good breakfast. Shower was tepid at best. Heater was difficult to work, kept turning off. It was an unusually cold night so would have liked a bit better heat. Nice staff.
Room was clean, large with a beautiful view. The bed was uncomfortable and the shower did not work.
This place is older but the people and staff are amazing. The pub food is a few things but absolutely delicious. I recommend this place. Would stay again.
We made reservations weeks in advance, and no one was there to open up the hotel. We had to find another place to stay. Do not count on this property.
It was ok bit dear for no breakfast
Beautiful scenery, great Irish breakfast and accommodating staff
Location
Beautiful views of the inlet! Food was delicious!
Nice view fun atmosphere
It was just beautiful
The hotel needs renovating but it wouldn’t take much to get it back to glory . Our room was lovely with a huge window overlooking a really pretty lawn onto the River. The restaurant wasn’t operating but the bar staff really accommodating for us to bring take away to it . The breakfast , included , was great and the breakfast chef lovely .Glengarriff is a much better option for cute pubs and cafes but Ouvane Falls was very cheap so I’d recommend for a different experience .
An ideal entry and rest point to and from Beara . Close to both Glengarriff for wool shops and Bantry for market. Family room and dogs allowed ! Great value.
I really enjoyed my stay. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Only catch: there was no hot water the last evening of my stay. It was the bank holiday weekend in August and the person capable of handling the situation was not available. Not so good.
There was a huge crowd (a wedding) and a VERY noisy singer so we couldn’t be heard when trying to book in. No pre-printed checkin-in form, they wrote down questions on a piece of paper. Not a good start “We might be able to do food” was the reply when asked about the restaurant. The wedding obviously had the food and a shrug of the shoulders was all we got when we said it advertised as a restaurant. We went round the corner for a lovely meal. If they can’t provide food then don’t book rooms out assuming people don’t want food Nowhere for toiletries as there was no shelf in the bathroom (a small tray on top of the toilet) Carpets up the stairs and in the room badly needed extra cleaning or replacing The wardrobe was missing a door or it wasn’t designed for a door Wi-fi didn't work properly. You connect in the room (Topfloor) but in the dining room there was no connection, even though “Dining” network was available The open window had a huge cobweb Window area had bare plaster where paint had flaked off. A small pillow (singular) was paper thin and nowhere near white The postcard size “towel” for the shower was best used for standing on Nowhere to hang clothes in the bathroom so you leave them on the floor outside No curtains on the window so people on the public terrace see straight into the room Bathroom door really creaked like mad, great when you wake your wife at night Double socket was almost down to the level of the worktop so we couldn’t plug a hair dryer
Great having bar downstairs for easy pint after a long day of traveling. They had some irish dancing going on and we didnt even hear it from our room. Clean and friendly staff. Great breakfast.
The rooms were not cleaned every day. The door to the balcony did not lock and was accessible from other rooms. The check in was at the bar downstairs and it took about 5 minutes to figure out where to check in. The parking lot was small and always filled so parking was very difficult at times. Would not recommend staying here. It does not seem as if the owners care about the hotel section at all
The check in was very confusing…I had paid for the room online through Expedia but had to pay again at the property. The girl who checked us in told me that Expedia would refund me in a few days as that payment was taken as a security deposit so that if we didn’t turn up the property wouldn’t lose out. I found this method very strange and inconvenient. Currently awaiting refund
Ouvane Falls was a great place to meet local people and join in the Ceilidh with them.
We absolutely loved staying here! The staff at the bar downstairs was great and stayed open late for us to chat and continue drinking. The people were all amazing and would highly recommend staying here!
We didn’t get the room we were promised. The towels provided were damp. The pillows had stains on them. We would have left but there were no hotels available in the area because of the bank holiday.
The property is shabby. The music on Saturday night bellowed into room 12 until past midnight. Breakfast was good. Music at breakfast was the best part of our stay.
A beautiful spot with great food. Staff are lovely and the room was clean and quiet - even with the music downstairs.
Great place staff friendly
Gorgeous view from pillow, pub downstairs, off-street parking, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful host, central to sites
Superb location by water. Really welcoming and friendly, Great atmosphere with music in the bar( and hen night.) Enjoyable breakfast with personal attention
Beautiful views from our personal balcony. Room is clean and tidy. Only 10 minutes drive from Bantry which is definitely worth a visit.
A property with huge potential if they could afford the investment. I have stayed in several hotels this week and this was most expensive but did not offer the same finishing touches. It is a great spot and convenient placed. Very nice people run it
Excellent location, very good Irish breakfast. Access stairs to bedrooms dark and narrow. Shower, toilet and sink clean but nowhere to hang or place anything. Plenty of towels, shampoos and soaps. Pleasant and welcoming owner. Expensive for the facilities provided.
Room was clean, staff was great, and the bar and food were both top notch.
Dirty toilet water leaking out on arrival. Told owners, and we were given a towel to absorb it as it was too late to fix. Leak got worse until, they questioned how often we were flushing the toilet. We were given a small container (picture) for the dirty water. It was still spilling on the floor and stank. Was fixed the next day, but the room still stank of sewage. No room change, no discounts, barely an apology. Heard others complaining of similar at breakfast too. A truly disgusting stay. Will never go near Ouvane Falls again.
Nice property on Ocean inlet. Restaurant, bar, outdoor deck. Very nice place to relax
Polite staff. Shower could have been cleaner but otherwise enjoyed our stay. Minimal amenities, no conditioner
We stayed here just for one night. The service was amazing and the food was phenomenal. The hotel is older but clean. The beds were a bit too stiff for our liking but everything else really surpassed that. We loved this stay.
Amazing location. Beautiful room with sweeping views of the falls and bay. Great check in and very friendly proprietor. Highly recommend!
Staff were SO helpful. They made us toasties and chips even though the restaurant was closed and left us to the start of our walking route.
Nice access to Ring of Kerry and Ring of Beara. Nicely situated. Quiet. Pub downstairs with reasonable dinner options. Fantastic Irish breakfast included.
Room was old fashioned & freezing ( no knobs on rad to adjust). Kettle dirty inside. Pillows was like pancakes & very thin duvets. Stairs to room was filthy. Hot Breakfast was tasty but no choice other than full Irish.
Sehr nette Gastgeberin und im EG typisch irische Pub mit Sonntags irischem Volkstanz Abend
The owner was very friendly and welcoming. It was like coming home…
Staff seemed disinterested in the place. Rooms were double booked. Dinner service in restaurant and pub was terrible. Room’s bathroom was filthy. Mold on bottom of cheap shower curtain, inexcusable. Confusing entrance. Carpet going up stairs was disgusting. Absolute joke they charged $165 Euros for this dump.
The property is about 3mls from any restaurant and the road back to Bantry is unlit and not pedestrian paved in places. Local taxi unable to collect for 2hrs and the local restaurants apparently don’t offer deliveries. Staff unhelpful and more interested in drinking with the ‘locals’ Room clean but dated. Communal areas ‘worn’. Probably not seen at its best but ‘cheap overnight accommodation’
Had my first pint of Guinness here .loved it 😝
We booked our “sea view” rooms three months in advance, while upon arrival the staff was surprised saying “you have one room”. After we demonstrated our receipt, wow, what a surprise - “we cannot find the key deem the second room”… we got the noisiest room, looking at the crossroad. In the morning, during check out two ladies and their assistant were not able to make the credit card machine functioning during 40 minutes
Excellent
Check in at 6pm was difficult and despite 2 emails to the Ouvane, we received no reply and had to take a chance on being able to arrive earlier; when I raised this on arrival the reply was a grunt. The room was very cold and no one came back on my request for some heat. Zero privacy was provided by the huge windows facing the car park and the main road without even net curtains. Breakfast was served on the basis of ‘do you want food?’ there was no menu, vegan or vegetarian options (let alone gluten/ dairy free) and continental breakfast was cornflakes (no sign of a croissant or scone). The style of service at breakfast with bowls of minimal choice of edibles half covered with cling film and no milk on the tables left a lot to be desired and as for the warm hospitality and welcome Ireland is famous for; it simply wasn’t there, rather their model was based on Fawlty Towers. For €180 for one night it was very overpriced.
Beautiful area right on the bay. Restaurant has a lovely patio with views of the falls and bay. Room clean and comfortable.
Sehr schöner Biergarten und Terasse mit tollem Blick auf das Wassser. Frühstück lieblos dargeboten, Heißgetränke erst nach Ende des Frühstücks serviert.
Ouvane falls is in a beautiful location . The bedroom was comfortable and very clean . The breakfast was adequate.
If you are looking for a nice warm welcome A clean room, and clean premises in general. Then this is not the place for you. Cigarette butts strewn around entrance door are a giveaway as to what its like inside. A Kip. Wont be back.
The staff were lovely. There is a hotel shuttle into town which is convenient as the town is close but not walking distance. I did not like the 6pm check in but knew that in advance. The grounds are lovely with a gurgling stream feeding into a lake. It’s very picturesque and worth a late check in.
I stayed as I was on business in the area. It was a really relaxing stay. The food was lovely and the atmosphere at the bar was great. The staff were more than helpful. I will definitely stay again.
Nice Family stay with Breakfast in Room
Very friendly lady checked us in, stairs to rooms filthy, adequate room, bathroom was not clean, mould around bath, had to ask for cups etc for room. We had a balcony room, very dirty, lots of cigarette butts. Breakfast adequate, had to take sugar, milk from other table. Beautiful site, could be a lovely place, certainly not a €120 room, more €60 to €80
This is the most beautiful location. The hosts are warm and welcoming. A. Real gem.
It’s a very nice place service was great and live music in the bar.
Fantastic friendly welcome by all at the Ouvane Falls. Lovely hotel in a stunning location, super atmos and great food. Many thanks to Tricia and the team :-)
Very helpful and pleasant owner. Beautiful situation. Unfortunately the heating was malfunctioning and our room was cold. One of the towels probably had a hole in it
Beautiful area, great breakfast. Entertainment was fabulous. Rooms were very nice and cosy. The Host was wonderful.
Ovane Falls was in a lovely waterside location. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The food was tasty. Having the bar and restaurant on site was very convenient. We were very well looked after from start to finish. We will come back soon!
Amazing to stay. Beautiful view. Cheap. Host is very accommodative. Thumbs up
This place is perfect for a stop-over! great location right off the road and with an amazing view. The hospitality was amazing; we arrived later than hoped, but they whipped us up a fantastic dinner despite kitchen closing soon. Then, somehow, we were lucky enough to be here during a weekly step/trad dancing party and had a blast watching! Then our hostess made us THE BEST BREAKFAST! Definitely recommend.
On arrival we thought it was shut, it opened at 5pm On entering through the main entrance to the upstairs rooms we were greeted with a filthy carpet and sticky hand rail In the room it was dated, stains on the carpet towels and bed runner The bathroom had tiles hanging off and Mouldy grout around the bath The only reason we stayed was we had travel 6 hours and the welcome we got from Emily who couldn’t do enough for us. Evening meal and breakfast amazing and nothing was to much trouble even down to finding a hairdryer ! The view was amazing and it could be an amazing place if it had a but of tlc
Trish, who welcomed us was very friendly and accommodating. The evening entertainment was good fun. The food was ok. Unfortunately the rooms and bathrooms didn’t live up to the price and the main road made it very noisy. Nice view though.
Breakfast was lacklustre
We can’t wait to go back! It’s in a beautiful location, the room was comfortable, the staff kind, breakfast delicious and the pub fun! It was the perfect stay for our drive around the Ring of Kerry. Highly recommend it!
The staff are great, but the hotel is tired and needs updating. The room was just OK, but the bathroom was pretty run down and dirty. We thought this would be a quiet out of down location, but it is actually a large pub, and the night we were there they had a party for 130 people. We took there recommendation to book else where for dinner !
No room service. Very casual about guest services. Could do with a review by management.
