It's a beautiful place. and thanks to Andy for the great service.
Beautiful old home tastefully furnished with everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Lovely gardens & pool area to enjoy.
Mimosa is always a beautiful stay.
Lovely property, helpful people.
Nothing to note
Andi was superb - cleaned the unit without us expecting it and set out a lovely braai stand on the second night. Rooms are lovely and big and unit has all needed for a short stay.
Unfortunately no backup power
Loved this cottage, bed was very comfy and the unit was decorated nicely. Had all we needed. Garden and pool were pretty. The two friendly dogs made the stay.
The location was good; it is closer to city centre as described. They dont offer breakfast; it is self catering. The lady who looks after the property cleaned the dishes that we cook breakfast with which we were very grateful for.
Nothing of their own doing; the road that led to the property is old and have potholes but it is outside their control.
Peace and quiet
Nothing
Mimosa is a little paradise. We enjoyed everything about the property. Charisma, the owner and the house keeper Andy were so hospitable. They went above and beyond to make us feel as supported as possible. The two dogs were adorable! Rassie & Lilly made us feel so welcome. We hope to return again next year.
Everything so beautifully restored
The terrible potholes in the roads getting to you
Did not have the breakfast.
I can't think of anything.
Beautiful period home in a lush garden setting. The pool is a nice touch. Quiet area..had a lovely stay.
If the second bedroom had a fan to fend off mosquitoes, this property would've received a full score!
We always enjoy our stay at Mimosa. Ivy is great, she is welcoming and helpful.
Nothing
I loved everything about the location. So peacefulness and tranquility. It felt like we were living in our own world.
Absolutely nothing everything was perfect
This was our second time staying at Mimosa. Decor is beautiful, comfortable beds.
Wow! Wow! Wow 🤩 The pictures aren’t doing enough justice for this place, they have upgraded them. Firstly the great ambience from the lady Ivy. We loved every bit of the place, Attention to detail 🙌🏾I could take the experience back home. From the freshness and cleanliness of the place. The linen 🙌🏾, the mattresses 🙌🏾, pillow hugging cushions, the kitchenette is superb 👌🏾 with welcoming butter, jar of rusks, sugar, coffee, milk, tea ☕️ , spice, olive oil, Pure tranquility, no noise just echoes of the birds singing outside especially in the morning. Very private with the view of beautiful Garden. I couldn’t never think of any place when visiting Grahamstown. Loved 🥰 it.
Absolutely nothing
Heaters in the rooms and electric blankets. Decor is great! Loved the old-style building with modern amenities.
Suggestion: The 2 chairs in the main bedroom don't really fit the rest of the decor. Change to a (antique) writing table. It would be a perfect for the ambience.
I have stayed at the property before and loved staying there earlier and hence chose Mimosa again. The house is simplly beautiful, the housekeeper was very warm and helpful. I simply loved being there.
The rooms were so pretty
Absolutely every single thing was perfect. The kind, professional assistance from Bernice, to the heartwarming welcome from Ivy. The house is gorgeous, and tells such a gentle tale. Early mornings on the verandah to watching the sun wrap the day up in golden hues is such a pleasure. Each room is perfectly set, the furnishings understated and elegant and the kitchen an absolute dream to cook in. Strolling around the puturesque gardens with the sweetest dogs provides such solace. Mimosa lodge is as intoxicating as a mimosa!
Big high five to the Mimosa Guest House in Makhanda, my base of operations (along with a herd of cows outside) during the RU120 visit to Makhanda. Very comfortable historic home in a lush garden setting with inviting charcoal pool. Temperatures required regular immersions and poolside lounging. Woke up to the caterwauling of the Hadada Ibis in the trees each morning. Enjoyed meals at Major Fraser's across the street from Drostdy Arch. They have superb pizzas that are wood-fired oven-cooked.
"We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! It was spotlessly clean and had a warm, homely feel that made us feel right at ease. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!"
"We were thoroughly impressed with our stay! Honestly, there was nothing that disappointed us - everything exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend it!"
The property is absolutely beautiful, and the gardens are gorgeous. All facilities are of the highest quality, making the stay a perfect home from home. Ivy is warm and welcoming too.
I loved the beautiful rooms, and the verhandah. Perfect for watching the setting sun.
We we well received on arrival. The facility was neat and tidy and met all our needs.
The dogs were a bit of a nuisance. No other complains.
We had a wonderful stay and would recommend the property any time and will surely stay there again our selves. Lovely and quiet and very comfortable with all we needed to make out stay comfortable.
Ivy was lovely, there is safe, secure off street parking, and the property has an electric fence. The apartment exceeded our expectations. Beautifully furnished, good linen, lovely shower, and well stocked kitchenette. Would definitely stay here again!
nothing
The colour's, cleanliness, kind housekeeper, great security, quiet neighborhood. Clean running water and electricity were always available as well as emergency lights, smooth running wifi, some beautiful ornamental plants/landscaping to take in and use as photo background. Just exceptional!!
I didn't really appreciate that I the website it seems to show the space to include the lounge but it's actually not part of the 2 bedrooms, bathroom, and dining area. The potholes in the road to it, though it is a council issue it would be nice to have it rehabilitated. The pros do outweigh the cons, definitely recommend the place!
The accomodation is self catering

This cottage is a gem. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable and set in stunning gardens. The house keeper Ivy kept the place clean and saw to all our needs.
Nothing!
This could easily feature in a House Beautiful magazine. Elegant and immaculate with everything you need. Lovely big bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. Very peaceful and secure. We loved it and will definitely stay again.
There isn't a separate lounge area but you can sit on the patio or on a sofa in the bedroom.
Beautiful garden and facilities. Friendly and very helpful staff.
The heritage building.
Nothing.
It’s at the perfect location and their space is amazing. the stuff was so friendly and welcoming
Very clean rooms. Friendly staff went out of their way to assist us.
Suggestion: 2nd room needs a fan :)
BEAUTIFUL GUESTHOUSE ❤️
Stylish and tranquil setting.
The flat had multiple spiders in hidden behind blinds so not sure this was actually checked beforehand. Communication as non existent until booking in. Dogs on property roam free and ended up having to chase the dog when they got out to let them back in. Very inconvenient.
The quiet and tranquil environment was ideal for spending time with family and resting. Bernice was awesome in providing pre arrival information and the room was beyond my expectation, bravo Mimosa!
Lovely property, with a beautiful green gardens after the rencent rains. Nice pool. Spacious apartment with everything needed for a short stay. Quiet surroundings...almost doesn't feel like you are in Grahamstown/Makhanda. Had a great stay.
The tar roads leading to the property are in a pretty bad state, but that is unfortunately just Grahamstown in general.
I loved the homely feel and the setting. Loved the dogs, Ivy, and the gardener!
An inverter would be very helpful. I travel to Grahamstown a lot and would need to not have to battle with load-shedding. This is a big negative, otherwise it's lovely.
The location to where we had our conference was convenient. The gardens were lovely.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable
For a family of 4, I found the living space to be very limiting... Wasn't comfortable to cook meals and the dining area was rather tight - things you look for in a self catering place... Also no coffee machine as advertised.
The Property looks exactly like it is on the pictures on Bookings.com
The pool was dirty, Housekeeping also walks into the house anytime. There's no privacy
The grounds and garden is so beautiful. So well decorated and so much attention to detail. Your every comfort is thought of.
It is a beautiful house with an unique and homey touch. Ivy was very kind, friendly and helpful. She made the house feel like home, just by her humble and professional presence.
The apartment. Two rooms and a small kitchen was ideal for a family
Got a bit noisy at times and parking was a bit tight.
