The beds are comfortable but too high off the floor for seniors Room chairs very basic. Good breakfast in bed service.

Proximity to harbour, views over to Rock, decor and modern feel

Room 19 was quite dark and right next to the lift so there were strange noises throughout day and into evening. For such expensive rooms, we would have expected a larger tv screen.

Location and staff are very good.

The hotel does not make the most of its outdoor space and no gym or sauna.

No A/C, the room and restaurant were very hot despite it only being mid teens outside. We had an estuary view which was nice, but at 6am each day a digger started scraping sand off the quay, and windows did little to keep out the noise. The shutters also didn't stop light coming in.

Loved the location and the friendly staff.

Our room Garden View was very warm and therefore it was hard o sleep at night. We had a small fan but it didn’t circulate the air enough. An overhead fan would make all the difference to the comfort of our stay. Given the cost of the rooms, I think the hotel should consider installing these.

Staff friendly, lovely breakfast. View from our room was lovely overlooking harbour. Location was footsteps away from main part of Padstow. Very Close to Rick Stein's cookery school and fish a chip restaurant/takeaway :-) BUT still offset enough to be quiet

Room Service Option was only for Breakfast (which is great) - It would be really good to have options for other meals or even light bites and sandwiches.

Room was fantastic, ground floor garden view with patio, table, chairs & 2 deckchairs. Breakfast was very nice & tasty.

Didn't realise when I booked that the breakfast was only continental & had to pay extra for that.

The hotel was amazing the staff were brilliant. It was a lovely room and experience.

The restaurant needs to improve, the food mediocre, the service was slow and one member of the waiting staff who was wearing a blue shirt was verging on rude. Ignoring our table when we wanted to order wasn't very impressed with that. The other staff were lovely and that certainly made up for it.

The hotel was clean and very nicely decorated. The staff were very helpful and free parking was a real bonus in Padstow. Location is close to the centre but a walk up and down a hill if you are restricted in anyway.

It sells itself as a premium hotel but the experience was different. Our room was very small for the amount we paid. They had shoehorned a bathroom into the space. When we arrived the room was boiling hot as the towel rail was left on at full heat and a table fan was blasting away in the room with all windows closed. Obviously not inspected before our arrival. We are not big drinkers but they promote "complimentary gin and sherry". No sherry and just enough gin to make one drink. Not topped up during our stay. It states breakfast included until you find out you have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast on top of an already premium price. All Continental breakfast elements are squeezed onto the bar which causes congestion at busy time. The continental choice was limited compared to many lower priced and rated hotels we have stayed in. A separate cold and uninviting breakfast room is used for overflow at busy times. Constant comments from breakfast staff that they are understaffed and rushing around with little client contact and care. It feels that everything is extra cost and the little details were missing.

Beds are too high for us, short people!!😁 The toiletries, body wash , shampoo and conditioner in the shower room are too high and secured to the wall , difficult to dispense.

Initially given a room with a view of a fire escape. Charging £10 for any cooked food, even mushrooms on toast was petty. Very understaffed. Waited excessively long (nearly 1hour) for the wine to be served. No air conditioning in the room.

Staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly.

My only small moan is the pillows, they were a bit old and lumpy.

Needs a deep clean

The location was perfect right next to the harbour. The staff were very friendly and pleasant and helpful.

The parking is tight although there were spaces at the rear of the hotel but needed to negotiate a challenging passage to get the car through. The room was on the top floor, well appointment but very warm. The fan that was provided just wasn’t up to the job. Housekeeping was good but late almost every day. On a couple of days we arrived back at our room around 4pm and the room had not been serviced.

Location is superb and all staff without exception were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast continental option was great and the restaurant food on both evenings was very good.

As we walked in the entrance mat was threadbare and easily fixable and various very visible newish stains on the stairs carpet which needed dealing with.

Fabulous location, super clean, lots of lovely personal touches, comfy bed, lovely bed linen, lovely glassware, everything you needed in the room, Bright and beautifuly decorated, excellent staff and service, felt so comfortable there, a lovely place to stay.

lovely hotel a short walk from the centre of Padstow. breakfast was great with an amazing view over the estuary. rooms we very clean and tidy. the bed was amazing, big and comfy !

room was so hot but hotel couldn't provide a fan or alternative - we ended up having to open the door to the fire escape across from the room and leave our door open to create some circulation, which left us without privacy or a feeling of safety there was a vomit stain on the carpet in the hallway just outside our door staff were either not available at front desk or curt and condescending when they were it's an expensive and exclusive hotel, but that doesn't mean staff can be snobby and condescending with customers, customers simply asking for a fan - nothing unreasonable in the end, despite being guests with overnight parking, having paid and registered our license plate for the hotel, we were sent a parking ticket for 100 pounds, adding insult to injury

The location is excellent. So close to the town centre and harbour. Also very quiet.

When people close their doors, you can hear them in the corridor

The building is beautiful and has clearly been there for a long time. The grounds are well kept. The rooms are lovely and clean and the staff are so helpful. The hotel is only a few minutes from the harbour and all of the local amenities.

The windows in our room didn’t open at all however, this was made up for with the air conditioning.

Room was immaculate very well laid out and finished. Staff were great. The restaurant was brilliant, obviously had a great Chef. View of Harbour was great. Just a Lovely place to stay right next to Padstow Harbour/Marina. 5 stars all round.

Only fault no aircon but fabulous apert from that. Defo stay again.

Great location - our lovely room was well appointed and benefited from a wonderful view of the estuary. Celebrating a birthday with dinner was all we good hope for. Great food, attentive staff making an all together wonderful evening.

The hotel is well situated above the harbour. It's decor is stylish and fits in the the nautical scene of Padstow. The hotel benefits from parking. I arrived mid-afternoon and managed to park. The dinner was excellent and the food was superb!!

The location and style of/ comfort of the rooms were fantastic. Also the views from the dining room and bedroom. Appreciated the free parking.

The hotel was beautiful located near the harbour just above Rick Steins seafood restaurant. Light airy bedroom with facilities you would expect. Great breakfast (continental) a £10 extra charge per person for a cooked breakfast.All staff were polite and helpful. Restaurant food was great with great views over the harbour.

One small elevator which at busy times took ages to call. A very tight car park £10 per day extra. Car park was always full at weekend. Complimentary gin in the room on the first night but not refilled on the subsequent 4 nights we stayed which was the same for the mini bar that was not restocked. The room was very hot the hotel did provide a fan but no air-conditioning. Nasty smell in the bathroom. The hotel advertises afternoon tea everywhere but disappointed to find out they needed 24 hours to book and prepare.

Location & airy hotel rooms

No AC in the majority of rooms which during hot weather is very uncomfortable & does in no way match the room rate at approx £280 / night - however fans were provided & a cool room was provided only after discussion prior to arrival. Stains on carpet to stairs & hallway. Slack staff at Breakfast with tables not being cleared. This is an annoying g problem & needs to be addressed asap.

Beautiful property with majestic views. We had a very good dinner, food was excellent. The hotel was clean and spotless and the beds were comfortable.

3rd floor Room was cramped. Very hot. No a/c. Seagulls nested directly outside window. Had a gull sticking it head thru the shutters at 4:30 in morning. Not great value for money. We were relocated to a much bigger room, which was much appreciated.

Great location in Padstow. Staff directed us to on street free parking a short distance from the hotel. We were walking part of the south west coast path and car parking is for residents only. It was very helpful as cheapest council car parking is for would have cost £30.00 for a week. Harbour car parking is would have been at least twice that cost so we were very happy with the advice. The car was in a residential area and very safe. Breakfast was good, extra cost for freshly prepared hot offerings but we found the continental breakfast very adequate. Dinner menu quite extensive, very competent staff all round. Would happily stay again

The one big problem was how uncomfortable and overbearing the temperature was in the room .Yes it was exceptionally weather but the UK does have periods of high temperatures , the hotel just wasn’t equipped or able to make the rooms comfortable, our sash windows only opened about 6 inches we had a tiny fan that couldn’t keep the room cooler in fact it contributed to the heat . It became unbearable so couldn’t wait to get out of room . It is a pity because it is a lovely hotel. Investment in better and appropriately sized fans is a must

Some staff need some further training including acknowledging you when you say good morning to them , being attentive in the dining room Bar was understaffed at peak time. I waited nearly 15 mins to get served. Confusion over whether I could order drink at my table Slopping dinner service literally…spilled the food down my daughter and the table. Brought main course before starters All issues easily rectifiable

Harbour Hotels can be a bit over-rated, but this one was good.

We liked comfortable clean rooms and light airy decor. The staff were friendly and the food was great.

We would have liked air conditioning in the room we were in, it felt warmer than the corridors and downstairs rooms, which benefited from more breeze or airflow. The fan was helpful.
