Hotel Capstone

We started with a partial roll of toilet paper. When we ran out, we looked for an extra roll. Nope. We called the front desk on the room phone to request more. No answer, left a message as directed. Waited, used tissues, then called again, same thing, no answer, “leave a message.” An hour later we left for breakfast and stopped by the front desk to relay the issue. They said “when you come back, stop by here and we will give you some.” Hmm, ok. So we did. Got up to the room at 1:10 pm, bed not made, no fresh towels—no back up TP. Left again, came back at 3:30, still hadn’t made bed. I called the front desk and was told “they clean the rooms for the incoming guests and if there is time, they will make up your room.” Hmm. So I asked for towels and TOILET PAPER. At 4:50pm, they knocked and dropped them outside the door. Once you’ve checked in—you’re on your own—zero service.

Property was conveniently located on campus. Staff was nice, bar restaraunt was convenient and poo was cleaned daily during our stay.

Always a good stay at the Capstone. Close to everything , very walkable and the staff is always very friendly.

We stayed here to celebrate my aunt’s 70th birthday, and everything was wonderful! The staff was absolutely awesome — friendly, helpful, and made sure our stay was special. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Thank you to the entire team for helping make this milestone birthday so memorable!

Enjoyed our king suite... housekeeping forgot to come one day, but the front desk gave us a partial credit, so that was greatly appreciated!

Hotel is very convenient to the University

Stayed after a game so hotel was quiet. Location is fantastic. My room was a little tired but a good option if on campus or going to a game.

Very nice place to stay. The room was not the cleanest. Paint peeling off in the bathroom and trash and dust behind the night stand. Staff was very kind and helpful.

The staff were very helpful and friendly (especially Gabriel)! I really enjoyed the facility and amenities of this hotel. It was very clean! In addition, the parking lot had ample and convenient parking—which was great for me! It was the least complicated parking and hotel I have visited. I did not have time to use the outdoor pool but the area was so clean and tidy. I enjoyed the location as I could walk around campus without worrying about moving car or getting lost. It’s very safe. They have a gym on-site but I found campus walks to be beautiful and satisfying. I had enough toiletries, clean towels, and a comfortable bed to make my stay enjoyable! 10/10 recommend and would stay here again.

This stay at the Capstone was less than impressive. Felt like a hindrance than a guest on this stay.

Convenient to get around campus.

We got in town for a Bana game and things were crazy. We were able to check in quickly and get our things in the room, then go check everything out. Everyone was super friendly and it was very clean. Will stay her We again.

The service that we received here was incredible and to be able to stay on campus, I am so grateful for that. However, the hotel is absolutely showing its age and desperately needs a refresh. Of course I would love to stay here again, but I do hope she gets a well deserved face lift some time soon.

I love the location of the Capstone, but this trip was not as pleasurable as those I have had in the past. The room would get a film of dew every time there wasn’t a lot of movement in the room bc the air would cycle off. The staff was wonderful but after a four day stay- we had trash overflowing and no toilet paper. I wish they did a refresh each day.

Obvious spill stains on carpet that were not cleaned or treated. Shower was dirty. Location was great! Service I checked in early and told someone would call me when room was ready. No one called and I went to front counter to get my key and the girl who took my card info and license didn’t check me in. A lot of wasted time.

Great location by campus

Amazing location!

This hotel was perfect for our college tour. We parked in the free lot and walked to everything we needed, including all the sporting arenas, collegiate shops and food. Great bar and food options as well.

Hotel Capstone was a great place to stay. It was super clean and everyone was very friendly. I was able to walk to campus and to my daughter's apartment in East Edge. The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced and the pool area was clean and relaxing. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very dark rooms with a musty feeling and weird smell off the elevator.

Everything was great until housekeeping throughout my food in my refrigerator before I checked out.

This property location and in hotel restaurant are the positives! Rooms were very out dated and needed some love. Pool was not safe and cleanliness needed major improvements.

First floor was beautiful. But the rooms are outdated and not very clean over all. Floors have large stains and some of the halls smell

The shower was less than ideal the shower door needed attention and there was a knob missing on the dresser. After alerting the staff the knob was repaired.

The best part about Hotel Capstone hands-down is the proximity to the university and all the cute affectations around the hotel celebrating Bama. The rooms are fine, nothing fancy but clean and decently appointed. The restaurant stays open till 10 pm, which is helpful and the food is quite good. Highly recommend if you want to be near your student, or near Bryant Denny or Coleman Coliseum on game days.

The location is great! Right next to campus. Very nice staff and great amenities. We enjoyed using the pool and fitness center during our stay.

The rooms were spacious and clean. Check in was easy. The restaurant dinner menu was great and the morning buffet was plentiful, delicious and affordable. Staff in registration and dining room were all welcoming and super pleasant. If I ever come out this way again, I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

I liked everything about the stay. Nice pool. Clean hotel. Very welcoming. Quiet and relaxing.

Great customer service and rooms were really clean, now for the downside. Tiny bathrooms, outdated hvac and no complimentary breakfast. With the prices of the hotel i shouldn't be expected to pay an additional $60 for my family to eat breakfast.

Location was great! Having the restaurant, bar and outdoor pool was nice. We booked a suite and we felt like we were in a dark basement. There was a very small window with view of a roof. The carpet and furniture were very worn with stains. Paint was peeling in areas. The bathroom was tiny. Some updates would really help!

I liked how everything was close by. I love the people here. great community. Perfect location for a hotel. Plus the only catholic church we found was across the street. Not that I'm catholic but my wife is. lol

Wonderful room, pool, and restaurant.

Loved our stay. The only complaint we had, was that the room lacked the now common power outlets with easy access on the nightstands.

Large room with separate living room and bedroom. Very clean. My wife never goes bare foot in hotels but she has in this one!

Hotel Capstone is conveniently located on the university of alabama's campus. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, Legends. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Check in was quiet and staff is very friendly. Our room was very clean and comfy but the bathroom was small. Would definitely stay here again!

Very clean hotel and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast is really good and hot. If you need anything you dont have to go looking for someone to help because they are walking around checking to see if you need anything.

Beautiful property that needs a little bit of care in a few areas as itnis an older building but as a whole, it is full of southern charm. Roll Tide!

Great location to campus

The room was available for early check-in and was very clean and comfortable. The service at the front desk was excellent. The restaurant was clean and bright, and the wait staff was very attendant to my needs.

It was very confusing as to how to get into the hotel parking lot. Even though the address of the hotel is on Paul W. Bryant Drive, there is no entrance on that street, and the front of the hotel is not on that street either. I had to drive completely around the hotel to find the entrance, which was actually on 5th Ave. It's VERY confusing!

I would have given it a 5 but it's location during football can be an issue. It is across the street from the football practice field and the booming music that started at 6am woke me up. Maybe ask for a room facing the opposite side of the field and it wouldn't be so bad. Otherwise it is a lovely hotel and the staff was wonderful.

Quick check in. Pleasant staff. I had called ahead and asked for a rollaway to be in the room as we were not expected to arrive until midnight. It wasn’t there, but they were relatively fast in getting it to the room

They did not give us a warning that they were housing a cheer camp so it was very noisy and not relaxing by any means. If I would have known beforehand we would not have stayed there.

We’ve stayed at this hotel a few times, and it’s always a pleasant stay. The staff is amazing, the rooms are clean, and it’s location is perfect! I highly recommend!
