Embassy Suites by Hilton Tuscaloosa Alabama Downtown

Had to request TP - was not any in the room

Because of the Hilton systems being down the day before, we did not have a reservation at the Embassy Suites. They were in an oversold situation. Thus we had to scramble for a room at 10:00 pm.

Everything about this location is 10 stars. Staff was friendly and professional. The room was roomy and quiet. The complimentary hot breakfast buffet with made to order omelet station was top shelf.

If there was a negative it would be the paid parking, but even that was reasonable.

The location is great! The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great. The snacks and drinks were a wonderful bonus. We enjoyed the hotel so much, we booked it again for the following weekend.

We did not like the fact you have to pay to park or how you have to pay to park. The pay parking is by far NOT the worst. Other than the parking, there is not any complaints. Everything else was so good, we will stay again!

We stayed one night at the Embassy Suites in Tuscaloosa on Easter Sunday and had a very enjoyable experience. The biggest advantage of this hotel is the downtown location — it’s within walking distance to several great restaurants, bars, and local spots, which made it easy to explore without needing to drive everywhere. For dinner, we walked to Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint, which had an enormous beer selection and a great outdoor seating area. It was the perfect relaxed Tuscaloosa evening atmosphere. The hotel itself was very comfortable, especially for families or anyone wanting more than a standard hotel room. The suites offered plenty of living space separate from the bedroom, which made the stay feel much less cramped and more functional than a typical one-night stop. Another major plus was the complimentary buffet breakfast the next morning. There were plenty of options, it was convenient, and it made getting back on the road easy without having to find another breakfast spot downtown. Overall, this Embassy Suites is a great option if you want a comfortable downtown Tuscaloosa stay with walkability, spacious rooms, and solid amenities.

We stayed one night on a road trip and loved it. The room was clean and comfy, but Side-by-Side — the hotel's downstairs restaurant — stole the show — clearly short-staffed, yet the trio on duty were pure magic. Sarah was literally a badass behind the bar, Danielle hustled with a nonstop smile, and Taurus — who, by the way, is a Gemini 🙂 — brought an infectious, sunny energy. Some patrons were rude about the wait, but the staff handled it with calm and grace. Five stars for the team — they deserve raises. The food was amazing by the way!

I travel to Tuscaloosa about three times a year and only want to stay here! I had a special circumstance and Katherine Bryant treated me with dignity and respect! Advertised a heated indoor pool. The pool was not heated and was very cold. big disappointment to my two children. Gave us 3 towels and 3 washcloths for 4 people. No soap in the bathroom, so we had to use shampoo for soap.

No hot water and only one bed

We have stayed in 2 Embassy suites in the last 5 days. This one in Tuscaloosa and downtown Charleston WV. Both were unexpectedly nice, and we were very pleased. The one in Tuscaloosa was a little nice but I believe it has been recently renovated. Rooms were clean. It was nice to be done driving at end of day and not have to leave because of their offering of social hour with snacks and good breakfast options.

This is the cleanest embassy suites I have ever stayed in. Everything was kept really neat and organized. My son loved the Christmas trees everywhere. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Avoid this business as a meeting venue! I used this company to host a regional meeting (~200 attendees) on 20-21 November. The first local sales manager that I worked with (for over 18 months) was "no longer employed", but I was not informed of this until 9 October. I was contacted by Suzanne Pabst, a regional sales manager in Florida who assumed meeting coordination via email. I never met Suzanne. On 7 November, I received a call from Heather McBride, the new local sales manager who would be taking over for Suzanne on this meeting (two weeks before the meeting starts). I met Heather only for a handshake on 20 November, and she was not in the building on 21 November. Communication between these three individuals was very poor. They did not ensure continuity, leading to many misunderstandings in the days imediately preceding the meeting. When we arrived on 19 November to set up the meeting registration desk, no one at the hotel expected us. I had to turn away the first meeting attendees because the registration desk was not set up in time. There was also miscommunication between the hotel and the AV contractor. He (and I) were unaware that the Embassy agreed to host another meeting on 19 November. Thias means that we weren't able to set up the ballroom until after 6pm on Wednesday. The evening hotel staff received the wrong seating diagram (not enough seats), and when I mentioned this misunderstanding, the staff member was dismissive. He responded "I just go by the sheet." Instead of contacting the sales manager for confirmation, he left. I worked alone setting up chairs and moving tables in the ballroom until after 8:00 pm the day before the meeting. During the meeting, the ballroom doors locked repeatedly. This was a conference style meeting, and meeting attendees were stuck in the lobby until another attendee exited the ballroom. This required us to find someone at the hotel desk who could come unlock them. There seems to be a disconnect between the hotel front desk staff and the event staff, as some of the front desk staff seemed resentful that we were there. There were also miscommunications regarding catering. On the phone, we were offered four snack/coffee breaks for $6,000 (not including $5,400 for coffee/tea), but when I asked for an adjustment we ended up paying $3,000 for one snack break (twice what I expected). Here is the final straw. The hotel retroactively charged our non-profit organization an additional $2,440 plus tax on 26 November (four days after the meeting). We paid the invoice in full by check on 21 November, but the hotel manager determined that we violated the food/beverage policy and indiscriminately charged us $2,000 for food and $440 for services that the hotel did not provide. With tax, the additional unauthorized charge came to $2,701.60. I have contacted Heather McBride to dispute this charge, and she referred me to the hotel manager, stating "I have nothing to do with that." How does the event sales manager have "nothing to do" with the bill for an event? Again, this person was not in the building for half of a meeting that cost us over $13,000. She referred me to the general manager, Greg Hopton-Jones, who the staff refuse to contact on my behalf, and who has not returned my voicemails. Again, NO ONE who claims that we violated the food and beverage policy were in the building on 21 November. This easily could have been resolved with a conversation, rather than this exorbitant penalty. Had I an opportunity to start this process over, I absolutely would have chosen the Bryant Center on campus or a venue in another city. I have notified the Hilton Corporate office, and I will file with the Tuscaloosa small claims court tomorrow regarding the unauthorized charge of $2,701.60.

Stayed here last night for one night and was really impressed. Conveniently located near campus with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Staff were professional and friendly. Hotel was clean and inviting. Room was spacious and xtra nice. Free breakfast was one of the nicest I’ve experienced. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

No one greeted us for several minutes at checkin. A used bar of soap in shower upon arrival. No conditioner in the shower bottle. Tub seemed dirty with sand or grit on bottom. Workout room - no treadmill. Nice peloton bike! Indoor Pool was too cold to swim in

Embassy Suites cancelled our reservation the day we were to check in with no notification. Left me to find a hotel when the town was at full capacity because it was parents weekend and a game weekend. I will absolutely never book there again.

Lovely property. Excellent restaurants easy to walk to, and perfect spot for us to check out the bama university tour. Will happily go back if my son ends up going to university of Alabama. So convenient as they had a little happy hour with free drinks which was welcomed after our flight!

We had the best time at this hotel. Stephen greeted us at the desk and got us checked in, was friendly and informative. We got there in time for cocktail hour and the bartender, Dolores, was amazing! So funny and seeet plus the

Parking spaces were too small. It was difficult to open doors to your vehicle once you pulled into a space.

Staff, location, amenities, breakfast included, cocktail hour! Stephen at the front desk got our visit started off right. We arrived a little early and he was able to get us in a room earlier than expected. He gave us all the hotel information about breakfast, cocktail hour, and restaurant. Once we were settled in our room we received a text to make sure we had everything we needed. Great service!

I've stayed here many times! I keep forgetting it's located on a busy 4-way intersection! I'm on the 7th floor in the front sideof the hotel and it's a little loud. I have 2 other guests on other floors on the back of the hotel and no complaints from them. Not a deal breaker by any means because the breakfast makes up for it! Fabulous made-to-order omelet! I love the location of this hotel because it's within walking distance of lots of fabulous places to eat!

This was the best stay I ever had at a hotel. The staff was the most friendly people I ever meet. They made me and my wife feel like home at the hotel. The two lady at the front desk help me a lot by finding us an joining rooms at the last minute, when we were checking in. You have the best Staff we ever experienced in all the hotel we stayed in. Out of a scale of 1 and 10, we rate this hotel and staff an 10. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

The property is in a great location to all the local shops and restaurants.

We was set on getting in the hot tub but when we got there it was covered up. We was never told that it was out of service on the webpage.
