Easy access from the skytrain, every room has a view of the Fraser river. Great breakfast and market walking distance
The property and decor is slightly dated
Location, the view was beautiful!
Spacious room and very nice bed
Arrangement with the Parking garage fee was not very clear and we almost got a ticket (person had already booked us when I arrived at my car after having reported the car's license plate to the hotel). Hotel staff was not very helpful in explaining how it works
Nice location and views . Over priced and plus you pay for Parking after Paying $300 to stay 18 hrs .
Over priced . Dirty room . Pay parking . Needs upgrading fir the price
I've been meaning to write a review for this inn since I got home to California. We booked two rooms for family stay midweek for a wedding during the busy World Cup time. They even kindly did an adjustment for us when it was discovered the prices had fluctuated during the World Cup madness. Our rooms were clean and cute and had views of the river. We loved the convenient self parking and the proximity to cafes, a great coffee spot, and a wonderfully good grocery... all just steps away. Also convenient was the Skytrain that takes you into Vancouver, just a small walk 5 minute walk. Don't miss the Craft Cafe next door with the best coffees, breakfast bites and weekend cocktails. Angelina's Dutch Corner is also steps away and has fantastic Dutch Pancakes. Just to note, there is some noise from a nearby train and things going on in the water, but it wasn't too much. Fun to see the tug boats and logs float down the river - and the bridge lit up at night with the Skytrain. Also AC was good during a heat spell. The people here are all kind and friendly. Nicely run hotel!
Found a large bug (Silver fish) in the bathroom sink alive.
Cleaniness unsatisfactory, over priced, considering only had one bed. Having to pay extra for parking, should be included in quoted price. Having to put deposit down considering room was paid upfront in full.
Great location. Rooms were clean and comfortable
Great view of the river!
Pillows are always a problem.
The room was very clean and has space for suitcases, a good size closet for stashing carry on luggage, the glass ice bucket and wine glasses are a nice touch. Balcony was great for people and river watching. Good places to walk to and see the river walk. Cafe Corner was great for breakfast as was Angelina's Dutch Cafe. Easy to walk over to the drugstore to pick up items we forgot. We were in town to visit family and it was a close drive back and forth to their homes.
A safe for keeping passport etc.
Lovely central location
I stayed at this hotel after I had surgery at Royal Columbian Hospital. The staff went out of their way to make sure that I had everything I needed during my stay. The room was very clean and the location was nice for my friend who could walk and shop for the things we needed.
Beautiful location, good service, worth the price.
Sehr gute Lage, durch durch die Nähe zur Metro ist es einfach das Zentrum zu erreichen, das Personal ist freundlich und entgegenkommend
Great location
Hard to find access to the property if you don't know your way around. No signage. No secure parking, just a public parkade. Front desc staff was rather indifferent. House keeping and maintenance staff were excellent. We expected a lot more from a hotel of this category
My husband and I booked this hotel based on the photo on their website. It is on the waterfront and we like to photograph, so we enjoyed being on the balcony and photographing the boats, tugs, and barges, coming up and down the river, but also the trains crossing the river and alongside the hotel. The sunsets and sunrises were beautiful. Our room was delightful and very comfortable, and the staff was very welcoming. The location is incredible with the waterfront park. We so enjoyed walking along the boardwalk and especially thought the amenities for families such as picnic areas, benches, planted flowers, playground areas for children, and the "local history photographs" on steps was amazing! We ate at the Boathouse next door and had their Happy Hour Menu and then ate again for dinner the next day. It was excellent. (Separate review) Overall, our stay was so much fun!!
The private balcony overlooking the Frasier river
My meeting took longer than expected and staff was very accommodating of my request to extend my checkout time a little. I sincerely appreciate that.
La ubicación frente al río es excelente. Habitación grande y luminosa. El personal muy amable
This was the third time I stayed here and it wasn't as good as the first. I enjoy the location and safe feeling in the area. During my first stay they gave a welcome gift of bottled water and chocolates, and a goodbye gift bag of candy, which I thought was a thoughtful touch. On my second visit, I noticed that every guest checking in around me was offered the welcome gift, while it was not offered to me. I had to ask for it. On this most recent stay, I again had to ask for the welcome gift (same employee as last time) and there was no goodbye gift at all. Cleanliness was issue this time. All 4 glasses in my room where absolutely disgusting! There were some random hairs on the bedding and in the bathroom. But the last straw for me was one day when I came back to the hotel, I used the side door, which I saw a lot of people use. I heard an employee behind the counter whisper something to another staff member, "she came in the side door...." The employee then proceeded to come out to the elevator and stand there watching me until I got in a used my key card. This wouldn’t have bothered me if it appeared to be standard security protocol, but it clearly wasn’t applied to other guests—only to me. I won’t speculate on the reasons, but the situation made me uncomfortable. As a result, I’ve cancelled my July reservation and will be trying a different hotel in Coquitlam next time.
Great location. Love the boardwalk right outside. Nice views. Having The Boathouse restaurant connected to the hotel is a big plus, amazing food!
Only one comfortable chair in room, would be nice to have something other than the desk chair for the second person. Water pressure in shower is terrible.
I quite enjoy the consistency of Inn at the Quay, no matter what time of year.
It was a plesent surprise to find once I arrived I was within walking distance of everything I needed while I was on my business trip. The boardwalk was also a great surprise.
We spent a lovely girls weekend at the Inn at the Quay! We used their wonderful robes, the hot tub, went for fabulous meals all within walking distance (Piva, Angelina’s & Craft Cafe)! We lounged, slept in, and loved the included wine glasses in the rooms! A perfect staycation getaway!
The location was excellent and the staff was very helpful. The “welcome” and “departure” chocolates and water and candies were a very nice touch
Nothing
The staff was very friendly and helpful, they put me in a room that I requested. The room was clean and quiet. It’s everything I asked for.
Maybe a microwave in the room? I had to run downstairs to the lobby to heat up my food.
location e vicinanza ai mezzi per raggiungere il centro
Nice view. The cleaning staff did a great job providing a good clean room.
There was no safe for valuables and no microwave. There was no map of the surrounding area or information on local activities, restaurants and stores.
Our stay was cozy and comfortable. Most notably, the surfaces and linens were clean, and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. We had an awesome view of the river/harbour from the balcony and the location was convenient The staff were very accommodating when we asked to move rooms due to being sandwiched in between a rowdy and noisy hockey team.
Rooms were clearly dated and could use some upgrades. Baseboards/light switches were dirty, peeling wallpaper and sign of minor water damage in bathroom around corner of tub. Shower fixtures were old with poor water pressure. We moved rooms twice during our stay. (1) Due to excessive noise from a hockey team (not the property's fault), and (2) the door's lock would not engage. You could simply push the door open. This is a major safety risk and glad we noticed and another example of the building showing it's age and need for renovation. The staff were extremely accommodating and understanding in both situations and we had our room changed without hesitation. Hotel could also use some more amenities for what you're paying, ie: free coffee in lobby, free breakfast of some kind (continental, warm, etc). Would gladly pay an extra $15/night to have these included in our stay.
We had a lovely two night stay. The hotel is older but stylishly renovated. The room was a good size and nicely furnished. It was clean and the bathroom had excellent amenities including robes. The view over the river is fantastic. There is some noise from the train, but not enough to disturb my sleep (but earplugs might be needed for some). The location is across the street from many restaurants and shops in a market building and is located in a ln urban residential neighbourhood (lots of condos) and we felt safe. You have to cross the overpass to get to other restaurants and shops and Skytrain station (very short walk). We enjoyed the restaurant downstairs as well as other local options. Would stay again.
Close to everything and a nice hotel
Very comfortable, quiet room. Nice view of the river. Proximity to the Sky Train station. Lots of restaurants nearby.
Maybe the offer of a Continental breakfast, or a light breakfast in the restaurant (included in the room or for a small fee).
Le chauffage n’a pas fonctionné correctement et est très bruyant
The location was amazing!
Google Maps lol couldn’t take me there.
Nov. 10 Breakfast (Bennie) was just okay as there was little hollandaise sauce and it was very flat tasting. Server was also excellent. Nov. 9 Dinner (Salmon for both of us)was outstanding as was our server.
Breakfast - notes above.
Great comfortable room with a fabulous view to the west over the river.
The heating system is very noisy. I had to turn it off in order to sleep in peace.
My granddaughter booked my room there on the river side with a great view and I was staying for 3 days. She lives in New Westminster, so was handy for her to come & pick me up there only being 15 minutes from the Inn. I was quite comfortable there and it was clean and enjoyed a coffee when first waking up. I did go to the Craft Cafe just down the board walk for breakfast and also went for drinks at the Boathouse while there. I'd go back to the Quay if I ever come back to B.C. in the future. Highly recommend it!
I chose this hotel because of its proximity to a surgical centre, and also got a great discounted room rate thanks to a corporate deal between the two. Our room was clean, had 2 queen beds, as well as a desk and a mini-fridge. We had a nice view of the Fraser River. Noise from the river and the train line that runs right past the hotel was minimal and didn't wake us at night. Room service meals are available from the nearby Boathouse Restaurant, but when you go dine there you can't charge your meal to your room...no big deal. Maid service was prompt and daily, better than most hotels these days. A couple of the lamps in the room had broken on/off knobs, and the decor in general looked like it needed an updating. The shower head was good, and plenty of toiletries were provided. There's a nice boardwalk along the riverfront to walk along, but the nearby streets aren't as upscale for exploring or shopping.
First time I’ve stayed at the Quay despite living in new west and then area for 0ver 40 years. Disappointed I haven’t stayed here sooner and will definitely be back
River front. Beautiful balcony views.
No bar on site. Restaurant and bar were next door. The train noise was manageable as long as you kept the balcony door closed. The hotel room was okay, a little tired looking but the view was awesome of the Fraser River. It is advertised as a 3 star hotel and I think that rating fits. The ladies on the day shift at the front desk were very nice but the gentleman on the night shift was not so helpful. The facility was close to family so very convenient. I did not like the underground parking situation much. At times it was hard to find parking, nothing was reserved for hotel guests only. Travelling by myself I didn't like coming back at night and being in the underground parking by myself as it was open and not gated. The ammenities lacked such as the hotel store to pick up snacks etc. Some floors had an ice and pop machine. I would think about staying here again if there wasn't something else closer and a bit newer. The nightly rate was $303 canadian (expedia rate) and I feel like the amenities and room could have been better.
Had a great stay, the room was clean and quiet. We had our dog with us and they were very accomdating
we got a river view room, really nice view , sexy room
Clean room
Simply outdated
location
Rooms are very very dated. Washroom cabinetry marked and scratched. Old bathtub and shower with a difficult faucet, Not what you would expect for over $400 a night.
Clean room. Nice view
A very good option for New Westminster and for access to the GVA with the SkyTrain stop so near. Boardwalk available for morning and evening walks with your dog.
Views were great. Parking was easy and restaurants nearby were delicious.
In was great with great views. Room was comfortable and clean. Only downside was person in next room had a small dog that barked a lot and was quite disruptive.
Quiet rooms, comfy beds.
Beautiful view, comfortable, clean, walking distance to several restaurants. The only thing missing is a laundry room, but they do offer same day laundry service.
Beautiful view, comfy beds, very nice staff, and they accommodated our super late check-in without any issues. Would love to stay there again!
Easy checkin process, friendly staff, clean and safe for solo travelers.
Hotel service was absolutely lovely.
Right along the boardwalk, arrived late so not as many dining locations were still open.
Great hotel in an area walkable to restaurants.
Good restaurants nearby
Everything we loved about the whole hotel
Nothing it was perfect
They didnt have a lot of the normal conveniences that hotels should have. No vending machines other than drinks. No toothbrush at reception. No tums / rolaids, many hotels have that little store inside, none. Lights were burned out, other than lamps. Clean, nice room otherwise
We really love the location and the room was perfect with a beautiful view of the river!
Pet friendly hotel But there wasn't anywhere around the hotel that had grass or anywhere for doggies to go to the bathroom
It is close to the river and board walk. Restaurants near by. Skytrain is across the bridge.
A little dated. There is no safe in the room.
Front desk staff always so friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check in early as our room was ready and this was so nice!
Nice hotel in a good area
Property could be updated for the price. A/C is noisy. Balcony could be cleaned. Room was small. No pool or hot tub.
All positive
Great location. Nice rooms Staff where great
Very much enjoyed my stay!
I will say it first—the bed in a hotel makes or breaks a vacation. I specifically look for reviews that talk about bed comfort and this hotel got some compliments on their comfortable beds. They were NOT comfortable. I am a boney side sleeper and this bed was just too hard. And wiggly, every time I tried a new position to get comfortable, my husband was jostled awake. We both slept terribly because of that mattress! So if you are sensitive to mattress softness, this is your answer—not this hotel. We did enjoy the location, everything you could want right within steps of your hotel. The architecture was also interesting, though the place needs some updating—there weren’t enough plugs near the bed for charging. I would recommend this place if the bed doesn’t matter, but for my fellow bed queens, this is not the place.
Close to sky train for transportation and conveniently located to amenities
Perfect home base for our group!
