Absolutely everything about Habitat is just perfect. I will never stay anywhere else in Clarens

Exceptional family getaway, close enough to town but also far enough away from the hustle and bustle.

The house had everything we needed to make the stay exceedingly comfortable.

It had a lovely little fireplace that warmed the living room well and created a cozy atmosphere.

Everything was clean comfortable and perfect.

Very big, beautiful house with a lovely view and garden. Well stocked kitchen and easy check-in process. Easy to find, and the host had some nice recommendations. Comfortable beds. Lovely patio. Accurate photos.

The house itself is very cold. Yes we went in Winter, but my partner and I sometimes found it warmer to stand outside than inside. It is poorly insulated. Yes there are space heaters, a fireplace and electric blankets, but it would make a world of difference if it were better insulated. I've stayed at other places in winter in Clarens and didn't experience this.

Perfect spacious well maintained house with all essentials you need. Good ( and fast) contact with the host: recommended!

The home was comfortable and tastefully decorated. the kitchen was well equipped and had all that we needed for a self-catering stay. room sizes were also great, and the solar heater was almost instantly hot and the TV did have Netflix with the unit.

as it was extremely cold some carpet in the bedrooms will help and maybe a different switch for the extractor fan vs the light. some insulation either in the roof or maybe heavier curtains will also help to keep the heat in as the last bedroom does not get much sun.

3 adults - 3rd bedroom for an adult - no lamp, no mirror - can't always assume that's a kids room. 2nd bathroom - no towel rails. Had to dry out towels outside. Rechargeable lights did not hold charge. Suggestions only for a score of 10!

The place was comfortable, clean and everything well-thought through. The gardens are well kept and calming. The host Melisna was professional and welcoming. The self check-in was simple and seamless. I will definitely book this place at anytime.

Maybe a small milk for coffee in the fridge for arrivals. A comfortablr bathroom rack for hanging towels will be good.

It's the small things I notice :) please consider adding the following: Soap dish in shower Soap dish in bath oven dish to cook in a wider salad bowel warm white bulbs in your down light - the cool white bulbs are very bright which can give off a sterile vibe trim tree back from main bedroom window and you will have a much better view of the mountain trim hedge back from the room with a queen bed in it so you can see some of the mountain out the window have some sunlight liquid available for washing dishes add instructions about what to do when the sound from the TV doesn't work

The house was pleasantly furnished, without being overly ornate. The bed was comfortable. The garden was suitable for the dogs (2 Yorkshire Terriers) to run and have fun and the neighbourhood was suitable to take them for a daily walk. It was close enough to the town centre to be be convenient, but far enough to avoid any crowding.

Maybe there could have been better drainage and hard-standing around the area used for car parking. Only noticeable because it rained quite a lot during our stay and, even though covered, the parking area was quite muddy. Hence, not so easy to try avoid bringing wet foot/paw prints into the house.

The house was quite cold in the evening.

Beautiful view, dense garden, two sunny rooms & nice wooden deck that will be drenched in afternoon sun during the winter months.

The property was well Maintained and the host very accommodating. Everything was neat and clean. Very peaceful and Tranquil. Our kids enjoyed playing in the yard. It's close to town as well. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again. Was a lovely stay for my daughter's birthday.

The only thing I would probably change is the check out time. 9am is very difficult when you have little kids. It's a crazy rush in the morning. But other then that everything was great.

The location was perfect and close to many attractions and amenities. Bonus was, it was a very safe location.

It was exactly as it presented itself and even better in my opinion.

This is a personal preference more than a dislike. When booking we should have a chance to add firewood at a surcharge. The shop is not far to buy and is well stocked. It would just be convenient for the arrival day.

The location is perfect. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. The host was super friendly and set out every detail for us before arrival. This made planning so much easier.

In the winter, the extractor fan in the bathroom blows cold air over you while using the toilet. But other than that, no complaints

Garden for the dogs, lovely views of the sandstone rock that rings the town. Very well equipped kitchen. Beautiful bed linen.

Super quiet location with a stunning view of the mountains. Felt absolutely relaxed. Perfect size for a family. Loved every minute.

Melisna was very professional , engaging with us before our check in date and providing all the important details. This was our first trip to Clarens. The property was as per the description, perhaps better than the pictures. It’s at the end of a small road. Google maps has an outdated picture, the property surroundings is beautiful. Check in and out was easy, host is accommodating. I prefer this property as it’s a short walking distance from town, the middle of town is a little noisy during holidays. This property feels like home, large open spaces giving family space to be alone and together. Fruit trees all around and we were lucky to have the most delicious plums❤️❤️❤️. Clarens is one of those towns that is lost in time, 1 of a few pristine places in SA. I would not hesitate to book Habitat again🥰 thank you Melisna 🙏🏼

Loved everything, sad we had to leave

We loved our stay at Habitat. It is in a nice location and very quiet. It is also close to the town centre. The house is lovely and very comfortable. We are looking forward to our next stay at Habitat!

Everything about Habitat is phenomenal. The owners are incredibly kind people and truly go out of their way to make sure your stay is memorable. My wife and I stayed over the weekend of our anniversary with our dog (she is a medium/large dog) and there were no issues whatsoever. I can keep going on and on about Habitat, the home itself is phenomenally furnished and extremely comfortable, the positioning of the house looks out onto the mountain and is a stones throw away from the Clarens Village Conservancy as well as the town center, however it's just far enough out of town to feel incredibly tranquil. We will be back many many times over.

That we had to go back to the real world and couldn't stay there forever!

The facilities provided are everything a traveller would need. Mel also communicates regularly and provides all information that may be pertinent during the period of your stay.

Beautiful, spacious and clean house for 4 adults. The extra small bedroom could work well for a tween or teen. Everything was beautiful and secure. The property has adequate outdoor spaces for hot summer days and for a good South African braai. Melisna was helpful and we received all information required a day before checkin.

There were problems with the television/Netflix. However, the host did everything in her power to address the issue.

There was no water in the kitchen. No it sure how there is water in the bathroom and none in the kitchen.

What a wonderful stay we had! Superb facilities, lovely beds, a great walk in shower and a superb host made for an unforgettable stay. We will look at no other accommodation in Clarens when we return in the future.

I am undergoing a hip transplant in the next 2 weeks, therefore the stairs in front of the house was a little bit inconvenient. 99 Percent of people however would have no problem accessing the house.

Great location, spacious, has everything you need. Very attentive host! We left on a Sunday and as there were no other bookings we were able to check out in the afternoon... this was great!

The bed in the master bedroom should be checked. For me, it feels a bit like a bucket... you role towards the middle.... It may just be that I like a firm mattress....

Beautiful space, beautiful energy and very peaceful Loved the decor. Host was excellent and always in contact for any of our needs. We loved our stay! Short walk to the main square, short walks near the mountain very close by. The property is clean, well maintained, had everything we needed.

There is no housekeeper everyday so you will need to do your dishes, bed etc yourself until checkout unless you pay for the housekeeper to come on those days(extra cost)

Lovely, very clean and so comfortable. Garden has character, loved the pomegranate tree.

Stairs leading to balcony need some attention but it’s a very minute detail.

The distance from the city centre was not ideal. Travelling on dirt road was not ideal either but it wasn't a long distance so it's not that bad

Perfect holiday apartment!! The apartment was huge and equipped with everything you might need for a pleasant vacay. Communication with the owner was so nice and we got responses on short notice. The neighbourhood is quiet, seems like there are a lot of holiday houses around. The city Center is in walking distance distance although it might be complicated to walk home by night if you don’t have a torch or have any challenges with walking off-road.

A very comfortable stay over Christmas in Clarens. The property is in walking distance to town. Well appointed facilities and beautiful views. The host made sure we had all necessary information to ensure a fabulous weekend. Will definitely be back.

Habitat is in walking distance to Clarens Center, which is a "safe" town. The accommodation is really nice and has all what is needed for a self catering accom. Beds are comfy and there was absolutely nothing to complain. This place is highly recommendable!!

Very accessible, quiet and spacious.

We thought the kitchen could be better equipped. No salad bowls, no lemon juicer and poor dish drying towels. The coffee mugs were completely oversized and no whiskey glasses 😩

Loved the location. Loved the accommodation. Whatever you needed was available to you. The host was very helpful. We would go back again. Amazing that we could take our pet with us.

Habitat is your home away from home. Clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable and a quick stroll into the town. Mel is an exceptional host and very responsive to messages. Loved our stay and will be returning soon.

Everything. It was an amazing place.

We loved the location as Habitat is excellently located close to the CBD of Clarens and to the conservancy trails. The sunsets on the deck area during winter is stunning! Habitat is furnished beautifully with all that you require and more from a self-catering establishment. The fireplace is great during winter and kept us warm during the chilly evenings and nights. The boardgames provided kept us entertained during the evenings and especially during loadshedding. The bed was super comfy and the electric blankets were most welcome. All in all, Habitat is stunning!

The only thing that was an issue (which is no fault of Habitat) is that during loadshedding the water pump does not operate and you do not have access to water for a shower, however, with planning around loadshedding schedules, one can get around this.

Beautifully decorated cottage, with everything you need for the perfect getaway. Conveniently located, within walking distance to the city square, restaurants & shops; yet still close enough to nature to enjoy the tranquility. Mel is a wonderful hostess. I highly recommend Habitat!
