Reviewed Sep 7, 2026I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Mt Horeb Manor in Clarens. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly received by Tinus & Sonia. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable, with a wonderful sense of privacy that made it easy to relax and unwind. Every detail seemed thoughtfully considered. The breakfast was very good, absolutely scrumptious! Indeed a perfect way to start the day. Mt Horeb is easily accessible once you in Clarens. A driving distance to Golden Gate. Highly recommended. ❤️

Sonia and family went out of their way to ensure my proposal to my girlfriend went perfectly, and it did!!! Privacy; organising champagne, rose petals chocolates on a secluded balcony out of the goodness of their heart; breakfast in bed (with mimosas); insanely good mountain range views; allergy-free super-clean rooms and staff with hearts of gold!!! Mt Horeb is a gem and a highly recommended guesthouse to stay at!!! Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Please install a kitchen unit no matter how small it is and also the fridge doesn’t freeze please attend to it aswell

Honestly, there was nothing to dislike. Everything from the accommodation and setting to the breakfast and hosts exceeded our expectations — we couldn’t recommend it more!

Das Ehepaar Sonja und Tinus und ihr Serviceteam sind so herzlich und freundlich, dass einem das Weiterreisen schwer fällt. Aber auch die Lage ist super. Man kann sicher zu Fuß bis in das wunderschöne pittoreske Zentrum laufen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
