It felt a little small, however we were in the upstairs room. There are other ground floor units that are bigger.

That it had a fireplace, as we visited in winter, it was spacious, with everything we needed for a luxury self catering experience. We had a great little patio where we could braai and the place was so neat and tidy and well taken care of.

I appreciate how we had enough necessities/equipments in the unit, it showed good organization and preparation for our stay🌸 I'm also grateful for the good communication with the manager and his availability whenever we needed him🌸

Loved the gowns that were available. Loved the fireplace in the lounge with the sherry option - perfect for a cold night. Good security and quiet setting.

The owner also very friendly and helpful, close to the center of town, like they say too far to walk and to close to drive LOL, we will most definitely stay there again and will recommend Serenity Lodge to stay at.

The fireplace with a glass of red wine 🍷 relaxing after a sumptuous meal in town. The place is sparkling clean and quiet area, out of the hustle and bustle. Reviewed May 16, 2026Die Küche war perfekt ausgestattet. Es gab sogar einen Grill samt Grillkohle und Anzünder. Im Wohnzimmer gibt es einen offenen Kamin, gehacktes Holz steht jeden Tag frisch bereit. Der Service ist super! Es wurde uns angeboten unsere Wäsche zu waschen. Jeden Tag war die Wohnung aufgeräumt und sogar das Geschirr abgewaschen. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Es gibt beheizbare Matratzen, sodass auch in kühlen Nächten ein guter Schlaf möglich ist. Alles in allem ist die Unterkunft sehr schön und ruhig gelegen. Es fühlt sich sicher an, da es einen Zaun sowie Kameraüberwachung und Beleuchtung auf dem Grundstück gibt. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter Erich lief ohne Probleme. Er stand jederzeit helfend zur Verfügung und hatte immer ein offenes Ohr für uns. Wir würden die Unterkunft bedingungslos weiterempfehlen.

Reviewed Apr 7, 2026The accommodation was self catering, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The host was a pleasure to deal with, and kindly supplied us with a box of Matzoh for our Passover. I was so impressed and that has never happened to me before. It made us feel even more at home.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026We liked the friendly welcome and the nice quiet apartment with terrace and a large bedroom with the most comfortable bed of our whole trip and a lovely view. We also loved the wonderful hot shower and that enough wood was provided to heat the living room nicely.
Everything was fine. A vegetable peeler and kitchen scissors would have made it perfect.

Reviewed Dec 1, 2025Tolles Appartment mit schöner Terrasse und Blick auf die Berge, ausgestattet mit allem, was man braucht. Sehr gemütlich und stilvoll. Wenn es kalt ist, gibt es einen Kamin und Heizdecken um Bett. Man kann von dort direkt in den Ort laufen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Reviewed Oct 13, 2025Serenity! The name speaks for itself. Had the perfect stay! The lodge was spotless, cozy, and well maintained. The views were absolutely stunning! The kind that makes you want to stay a little longer. And boy ohh boy, Eric! What a host! Was incredibly responsive and made sure everything was just right. From the moment I left home, unti I arrived at the lodge. I also appreciated the thoughtful welcoming gifts, such a warm touch! And that the lodge is just a walking distance from the iconic Clarens township square. I am definitely coming back.

Reviewed Sep 28, 2025Just a short few minutes walk from Clarens Main Street and the iconic main square, Serenity Lodge is perfectly positioned for a comfortable stay in Clarens. The suite in which new stayed was exceptionally well appointed, with separate bedroom/en-suite bathroom and kitchen/dining and seating area, with high quality appliances, crockery and cutlery. The outside veranda has seating and a braai, and a wonderful view of the mountains. Erich is a very attentive and hands-on host, and his energy and attention to detail were in abundant evidence during our stay - a highly recommended spot to relax for a few days.

Located in a quiet street in easy walking distance to the centre of town. Our host, Erich, went out of his way to make our stay extremely pleasant. Overall a good choice for a few days in Clarens, would definitely recommend Serenity Lodge and come back.
There seemed to be a problem with the water pressure in the shower. This was mentioned in previous reviews, but it appears that nothing has been done to rectify this.

Reviewed Sep 19, 2025Die Wohnung ist wirklich mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht, es wurde sogar Milch im Kühlschrank bereitgestellt für den Kaffee. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, es gibt so viel Platz und auch eine schöne Terrasse. Das Bett ist sehr bequem, wir haben hier sehr gut geschlafen. Der Kontakt mit Erick war von Anfang an sehr gut, Fragen wurden stets schnell und hilfreich beantwortet. Sehr zu empfehlen!
Leider kam in der Dusche kaum heißes Wasser heraus, was vielleicht nur ein temporäres Problem war.

Reviewed Aug 6, 2025Great view, well appointed and very comfortable rooms. Erich was very friendly and helpful. Clarens is a great little town with superb pubs and restaurants. Golden Gate National Park is well worth a visit.
The fireplace did not draw well (we mage sure the chimney is "open"), so the living area ended up being quite smokey. Serenity is not a "lodge", but rather a house with 2 different staying options. Take the main section of the house!
