A disposição do quarto e banheiro, com a pia ao lado da cama (pouca privacidade para se utilizar o banheiro). Falta de manutenção e pequenos cuidados no serviço (o atendimento no café da manhã não existiu).

Only slight issue was the lack of privacy in the bathroom but I don’t think it can be helped in such an old building

Nos gustó la atención de la chica que nos atendió en el desayuno, era genial, súper simpática y correcta. Miguel de recepción muy atento y nos ayudó mucho. Gel, champú y crema hidratante olían genial.
Por poner algo, que no hubiera pasta de dientes, pero vaya, por poner algo.

- Il cigolio della porta del bagno, davvero rumorosa - l'assenza di aria condizionata nella nostra camera (in quella di fronte era disponibile), che diventa un problema quando sei al quarto piano in una stanza soppalcata - le dimensioni ristrette della nostra camera (quella di fronte era già più grande) - la cedevolezza del mobiletto del bagno (che è letteralmente crollato a terra insieme al lavandino, mentre stavamo dormendo)

Det andra låg på andra våningen i huvudbyggnaden och var fantastiskt vackert, genuint och bekvämt. Frukosten var fantastiskt god med allt man kunde önska. Personalen mycket trevlig och tillmötesgående. Läget är mycket bra med gångavstånd till det mesta.

Reviewed Aug 5, 2026Heerlijk ontbijt (met oa verse fruitsoorten, honing, taartjes, brood, allerlei soorten ei die op verzoek gemaakt kunnen worden en vers geperst sap) - lieve en behulpzame mensen- centrale plek en ruime en schone kamer.
Er is een soort klein dompelbad in tuin, zo leek het op de foto, maar die is leeg en wordt niet gebruikt. Jammer, zeker bij de warmte die wij hadden.

The room is amazing, the staff is so friendly, and the breakfast is one of the best I ever had in a hotel with organic eggs. The location is in the center of Porto so everything is close by. The welcoming was very warm. I got welcomed by Gabriel. I came a bit early so he offered me water or Porto wine and he also sent me to a nice local restaurant with few dishes that I have to taste in Porto

Reviewed Jul 18, 2026It really is a secret garden hotel, opening from just a door on the street onto a quiet green space. Worth paying the higher rate for the garden view! The staff (particularly Alma!) were really relaxed and friendly as well as efficient and helpful. The breakfast was not huge as the space is limited, but very classy and including eggs cooked to order. Our last morning we had to leave too early even for the 7 am start, but they made us a packed breakfast to take with us. The location is good, close to the top of the funicular up from the river.

Reviewed Jul 16, 2026The hotel was in a very good location, close to main shopping street, plenty of cafes close by and very close to bus stop for trip to Foz do Douro. Wasn’t annoyed by street noise despite the central location. My room was nicely decorated, wasn’t bland and had a bit of personality about it. Wasn’t the biggest of rooms but was big enough and had everthing I needed, including mini bar and kettle etc. Bed was comfortable, good choice of pillows. Some people have commented about shower only staying on for seconds before having to press button again, didn’t have this issue. Shower was good, with excellent pressure. The bathroom isn’t that private as sink in room, you step out of the shower into the room etc, didn’t bother me. Air con and wifi worked well. There is a small garden/outside sitting area, not big but good to have in city hotel in centre of Porto. The staff were friendly, both at check in and at breakfast. Breakfast was very good, with good choice including option of cooked eggs. Items were replenished regularly. Leftovers were left in breakfast area so that you could help yourself later in day if you wanted a snack. There was also a small honesty fridge. Would recommend and would stay in again.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2026We loved this hotel. It was set in an old building and was very deceptive from a little entrance door leading to a lovely reception. All staff we met were so friendy and very welcoming, particularly Alma and Anna on Reception, and the lovely lady who greeted us at breakfast. The breakfast was just exceptional and so different. The company make a lot of their own teas and products and it was just all so fresh. The communication from our booking onwards was very good and the hotel answered my queries quickly before we arrived anr upgraded our room. Going to look at other hotels in this chain, as we liked the ethos of the place. The price we paid was so reasonable too in a big City. The staff were all great. Thank you to all.
More time to enjoy the hotel. We only had one night due to onward travel, but will book again when in Porto again.

Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das junge Team an der Rezeption. Alle waren unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen und bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Auch dass wir unser Gepäck nach dem Check-out noch im Hotel lassen konnten, war für uns eine große Hilfe. Vielen Dank für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen bei Gelegenheit gerne wieder. Absolute Empfehlung!

Das Zimmer ist sehr klein. Wenn man mit einem Koffer anreist, kann man diesen nirgends richtig abstellen. Der beworbene Garten ist mehrheitlich eine Bepflanzung mit Bambus. Perfektes Biotop für Mücken, von denen es sehr viele hatte. Das Gefälle der Dusche (Zimmer 111) geht in die falsche Richtung und so flutet man - ob man will oder nicht - den Eingang des Zimmers. In der letzten Nacht ist dann noch die Klimaanlage ausgefallen.

Leider waren die Betten so hart, das für uns kein angenehmer Schlaf möglich war. Daher auch deutliche Abzüge im Komfort.

The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. And the breakfast? My goodness, what a delight! Everything was freshly prepared, with an incredible variety that far exceeded our expectations. I rarely give a perfect 10, but in this case, nothing less would be fair. Highly recommended!

This was a great way to end my camino, this hotel was a great place to relax and recuperate. I am used to hotels having the sink in the room instead of the bathroom, was not an issue for me.

Reviewed Jun 16, 2026De locatie was echt perfect. Het hotel ligt heel centraal, dichtbij de bezienswaardigheden. het ontbijt was fantastisch, echt heel lekker gegeten en je hebt heel veel keus. het was een knus hotel met vriendelijk personeel. Heerlijke stille airco op de kamer.
We vonden de kamer iets aan de kleine kant en de badkamer is ook erg klein en smal. We sliepen aan de straatkant dus dan heb je iets meer last van het verkeer en voorbijgangers.

To reduce food waste delicious bread/cake leftovers from breakfast was there for us during the day in the breakfast room where there’s also tea/coffee water. It totally gave an extra energy boost after a full day of discovering Porto. Very quiet, intimate hotel. Super friendly staff. Go for an upgrade of the room! We did and the balcony is lovely.
The bathroom was separated from the room with a very thin wall, with a cheap door, totally open at the top - thus, not much privacy. But it’s not a big issue.

Peut-être que je n’ai pas eu de chance pour la chambre mais les aménagements et la déco datent un peu, un petit coup de frais à l’hôtel ferait du bien et permettrait de se mettre au niveau du staff exceptionnel

The room I selected online was NOT a disabled facilities room (as I specifically would NEVER choose one.) The pictures were of a standard bathroom but the one we got was disabled facilities. (Rails everywhere, push button tap). By the time we had started unpacking and realised it was a disabled facilities room, we decided not to complain as we were only staying one night. We were tired after a long journey and didn’t want more hassle

Reviewed May 26, 2026Ein wirklich perfektes Frühstück. Ich hab selten schlecht gelauntes aber noch nie so durchweg freudiges und freundliches Personal erlebt. Wir konnten an An und Abreisetag problemlos unser Gepäck unterbringen und es standen jederzeit Getränke zur Verfügung. Auch die restlichen Kuchen vom Frühstück standen Nachmittags gratis zur Verfügung.

Reviewed May 26, 2026An oasis in the middle of a city. It was so unexpected. Lovely rooms with balcony and views. Quiet evening, comfortable bed. One of the best breakfast, they make a lot of it themselves and from their farm. Don't forget to buy their olive oil and honey as well as tea and soaps

Très mauvaise insonorisation (prendre impérativement chambre jardin sinon vous donnez sur la rue : moteurs, klaxon, voies,etc). Bon petit déjeuner mais répétitif et oeufs toujours trop cuits. Douche qui fuit dans la salle de bain. Besoin d'un rafraîchissement : murs du couloirs erraflés par les chariots de ménage, parquet avec espacements dans la chambre, joints moisis dans la douche.

The rooms are clean, bright, and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The location is also very convenient. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
