The Japanese style breakfast was excellent, delicious and elegant at the same time. Restaurant staff live up to the hotel's 5 start standard. The in room matcha kit was the star of our stay. At first I thought that it is only something of mediocre level to attract foreign tourists. But the quality far exceeded my expectation. High grade matcha from the renowned tea brand Tsujiri, the chasen (tea whisker) was one of the best quality I have ever used, easy to use and made fine foamy texture matcha.

このホテルは公共交通機関(京都市営地下鉄)からのアクセスが悪いところがデメリットとなります。一方で、その分1泊あたりの値段は非常におさえられており、部屋の広さもともて大きくなっております。また、特徴としては、日本のいわゆるバブル期の建物であり、非常にゆとりのある作りとなっており、1階のロビーフロアに水が流れております。また、絹谷幸二氏の巨大な壁画があったりと、現代のホテルと一線を画すゆとりがあります。加えて、中のレストランのレベルがそれなりに高いわりに、お値段も割安となっております。はっきりいって、アクセスが悪い点を除けば最高のホテルと思います。

アクセスは、一番近い地下鉄の駅から10-15分ほどかかるため、夏の暑い日や雨の日は移動がつらいです。また、2026年12月から改築され、その後はヒルトンと提携するようです。宿泊費が3倍程度となると予想されており、庶民には泊まり辛くなると思います。

Hôtel digne d’un palace avec un service d’exception, une architecture somptueuse et des chambres très élégantes. Nous avons également appréciés la proximité de cet hôtel avec les liaisons de transports publics. Nous le recommandons fortement !

Wir wurden sehr zuvorkommend begrüßt und mit dem Gepäck unterstützt, die Atmosphäre im Hotel mit dem Charme und der Noblesse der 80er Jahre, das Zimmer war groß, die große Badewanne im Bad war praktisch, das japanische Frühstück war überragend!!!

Das Europäische Frühstück blieb etwas hinter den hohen Erwartungen zurück. Wir haben es nur einmal probiert. Beispiel: Es fehlt eine gute Kaffeemaschine, die mehrere Varianten anbietet.

シャワーが2つ付いているのを知らず、頭から水をかぶってしまいました。 天井からのシャワーはいらないと思います。

Really annoying that they charge breakfast for my 5 yo kid to have western breakfast, even if you booked with breakfast included. They claim that the Japanese breakfast is free for the five year-old. But it is just white rice and miso soup. Your kid will have to eat from your plate.

Location is a bit far from metro but a shuttle bus is available if you really do not want to walk. The room was excellent, hotel is very quiet. We have space for luggage, a desk...all perfect. We can do our own match green tea.

Breakfast was however disappointing with regards to food allergies...so if you do not eat dairy product like milk, cheese and cream, basically the variation is not that good. You always get the same and sometimes I do not understans. Western breaksfat was just not right for me, apparently they use milk in scramble eggs...wired. So had the Jpanese breafast everymorning, but somehow could not get the miso soup or a piece of salmon...just some other stuff and always the same while someone without food intolerance would have something looking much nicer. In Japan, having food intolerance leads to a feeling of being discriminated

外人の方や設備関係の方までも含めたスタッフの方々が親切な対応と丁寧な挨拶をして頂き、嬉しかったです。。部屋に置いてあった抹茶をたてて楽しめました。車で移動していたので、立地がとても良かった。

アメニティは必要最小限のものだったので、さらに充実して頂けるとより快適だったと思います。宿泊した部屋のグレードやコストとの見合いで致し方ないとは思いつつ。

The onsite restaurants were amazing and the room was gorgeous

Ample rooms, a very clean and convenient bathroom, and an elegant, modern facility. The staff is extremely polite and helpful, which isn't unusual in Japan.

I found the buffet breakfast (as the only breakfast option) a bit overpriced. However, there are nice cafes in the neighborhood if you do not want to have breakfast at the hotel.

Heel fijn, klassiek hotel! Personeel is heel vriendelijk, kamers ruim en comfortabel. Ik zou een verblijf zeker aanraden. Alleen de buurt is was rustig, maar dat kan ook een voordeel zijn natuurlijk. Gelukkig biedt het hotel een shuttle service aan die je de hele dag iedere 20 minuten gratis van en naar een centraal station (knooppunt) brengt. Super handig! Tevens veilige parkeermogelijkheid bij het hotel.

蛍で夕食を頂いたとき、料理長特製の梅肉が刺身に付いてきた。素晴らしく美味しかったので、翌日仲居さんに聞いた錦の内田漬物に梅干しを買いに行きました。これも実に美味しかった。

朝のビュッフェはインバウンド客が多くて騒々しかった上、咳をし続けるインバウンドの子供も居たので、手足口病が気になりました。

This hotel and room was so beautiful and spacious. The bath tub, incredible. The staff were so lovely and helpful, It was our splurge accommodation during our trip, and it did not disappoint, just wish we had booked more than a couple of nights so we could of made the most of the hotel facilities and explore.

There’s this odd government enforced additional tax where if your a single you’ll end up paying more tax for your room then a couple I.e. your room ends up costing more per night.

Absolutely loved this place! We changed our plans to stay one more additional night, it was a great rest! People are amazing, helpful and kind! Would defenetly come back here one day.

We had a wonderful stay at Kyoto Brighton Hotel. The service was outstanding—every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and always happy to help. The room was spacious, spotless, quiet, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a full day of sightseeing. The hotel itself is elegant and well maintained. The location is good, although I'd rate it 4/5 for convenience since it's a bit away from the busiest tourist areas. However, the peaceful surroundings and excellent service more than make up for it. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Todella kohtelias ja avulias henkilökunta,tilava huone ylellisellä kylpyhuoneessa. Aamulla oli oven taakse naulaan jätetty englanninkielinen päivän lehti. Huoneessa oli kahvin lisäksi myös perinteinen teen valmistus-setti. Täydellistä! Tulemme uudestaan,kiitos.

Perfect location in the backstreets near the imperial palace - exactly what my wife wanted. Staff were very hospitable and the hotel was exceptional.

Everything to like about this hotel, from the room, the service, the cleanliness, the free shuttle to downtown, all first rate. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kyoto.

落ち着いたロケーションで人も少なく、御所からも近いので、今回の旅にはうってつけのホテルでした。30年くらい前に一度お世話になったこともあり、素晴らしいホテルであることは承知していましたが、相変わらず素敵でした。朝食も期待どおりでした。2日目の朝体調が優れず自分だけ朝食を諦めていましたが、家族が気を使って部屋でとれるようにルームサービスをお願いしてくれましたので、美味しい和食を運んでいただき、胃の調子が悪かったにもかかわらず、ほぼたいらげてしまいました。優しいおかゆとお惣菜のおかげで、元気を取り戻し、京都滞在最終日も普通に観光できました。スマートで優しいご対応をありがとうございました。

2階のお部屋に宿泊したのですが、週末ということもあって、たくさんの方がロビーにおられ、話し声がかなりにぎやかで、廊下に出ると騒々しい感じがしました。

I love everything about this hotel. LEE was the best, spoke very good English. He helped me sort out my car rental situation. Overall, this hotel is HIGHLY recommended. Clean, organized, and staff were outstanding!!

We recently returned home from a trip to Japan. In a departure from our regular vacations, we took a group tour sponsored by my husband's workplace. In Kyoto, the hotel we stayed in was the Brighton. What a treat! We had a wonderful room with a very comfortable bed and we'll appointed. The amenities included a kit for making matcha tea, complete with a bamboo whisk and a beautiful teapot and cups I would love to have in my own home. But the most enjoyable element was the bathroom, which was large, full of things you might have forgotten to bring. The shower and bath were amazing... A huge soaking tub to lounge in (and I did!) and a wall mounted shower wand next to it, all encased behind a glass partition which keeps the wetness from entering the toilet/sink vanity area. Just wonderful! Breakfast was included and available in two versions...a Western buffet, and a Japanese breakfast across the lobby. My husband enjoyed the Japanese breakfast twice, and was happy to have it available. Service was excellent in both breakfast rooms and in the hotel in general. We sat in the lobby one evening and had a pizza and drinks, it was nice. I understand that the hotel will be closing for renovations later this year. I'm sure it will be as welcoming when it reopens as it is now. Since I was basically chauffeured everywhere on the bus I can't really comment on the ease of using public transportation, but I did travel by taxi a few times and it was a short drive to the central places I went to (i.e. Nishiki Market, Kyoto Handicraft Center).

On two weeks of travel, this was our favorite hotel. We were three adults and our room was a spacious. gracious, and comfortable accommodation. It was incredibly quiet & welcoming regardless of the time of day.

Nothing! Other than the thought it will be taken over by Hilton. Yuck.
