Vibe was chic, handy info in arrival for the Gion festival, the staff favourite nearby food options, cycling paths etc. Generally approachable staff and superb location. Room configuration worked to accommodate children in connecting room. Would recommend. Made our Kyoto stay even more special.

朝食の時の席案内が、満遍なく散らばすのではなく、空いているのに、偏った方に隣同士ギチギチに案内されたのが気になった。

The hotel is very pretty, has great style, and has good air conditoning. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The hotel room was clean, had a record player (which was cool). Great transport links, and also lots of nice things in the area too. Breakfast (Japanese option) was yummy although I wouldn't recommend getting it two days in a row, lol. Gym facilities were clean and well done. I extended my stay for another 3 nights, for a total of 5 nights, because everything was that good :)

Would've been nice if there were self-serve washer/dryer facilities! The paid laundry options were a bit expensive so I ended up going to a nearby launderette instead.

The ace chain is awesome. Also stayed at the one in Athens.

Wish it had a pool bc it was soooo hot!

Everything about our stay was incredible. The property features a modern yet intuitively cozy design with very spacious rooms and large, luxurious bathrooms. The highlight of our location was the direct view of the spectacular Gion Festival procession right from our window to the street! Above all, the service was exceptionally outstanding. After an unexpected situation with the kids in the middle of the night, the staff reacted immediately with kindness and professionalism. They provided a complete change of linens, duvets, and even the mattress in the dead of night without hesitation. We are incredibly grateful to this fantastic, family-friendly team!

ACE Hotel Kyoto is a wonderful hotel with a relaxed, stylish atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with plenty of room for both unwinding and getting some work done. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The hotel also has an excellent coffee bar, which adds to its lively yet laid-back atmosphere. For anyone working while travelling, the lounges and lobby offer plenty of comfortable spaces to sit with a laptop for a few hours. The combination of spacious rooms, thoughtful design, friendly service, great coffee, and inviting communal areas makes ACE Hotel Kyoto an excellent choice for both leisure and business trips. Highly recommended!

I recommend Ace Hotel Kyoto for its great location and comfortable, spacious rooms. The metro, along with shops, restaurants, and sights, is right outside the hotel. The front desk staff are friendly and easygoing.

房間整體都很棒設計很美，唯一最不配的就是那把Tescom吹風機！超級舊風又弱😂感覺是一台很老舊的吹風機，都已經配有黑膠唱片還有高級擴大機，應該要配一台更好的吹風機🥺

The property was centrally located with a modern vibe. There were regular and electric bikes on property for use for free and that made getting around the city a ton of fun. The restaurants in the hotel were also convenient and amazing. When we arrived, my husband was motion sick from the bullet train and the staff did everything they could to get us into a room and comfortable.

This was our favorite property of the trip. Loved it all.

This is what you expect when you think of New York meets Japanese modern style. Super cool, astonishing architecture, clean in every aspect, great service. Great location — close to the main attractions and right above the station, in a brand new complex of restaurants and shops. If that's your kind of lifestyle, just go.

Ace hotel accommodations are excellent and location is central to local walkable streets. The accessibility to restaurants, shops, malls, entertainment and attractions is convenient on foot. Nishiki and Teramachi markets are just a few blocks away. Daimaru & Takashiyama are also walkable and just past the markets. Taxi services to & from the hotel are available and distance is very reasonable to Gion, Fushimi-Inari, and Arashiyama. The lobby has plenty of seating to work on the computer or just to have coffee or tea. Hotel rooms and showers were cozy, clean & comfortable. Workout facilities were top notch and clean. The inside courtyard is an organic natural space with beautiful greenery and a mix of different shops to visit. Hotel restaurants were outstanding and recommend the soft & delicious French Toast! The hotel staff are warm and very helpful if you have questions. A little Japanese goes a long way to break the ice and the effort is appreciated. Overall experience was great and pleasant. Highly recommend 10/10.

My family had a great stay at the Ace in Kyoto. We loved the location, cool style of the hotel, and excellent staff. We stayed in a tatami suite, which was large and perfect for our family.

We truly enjoyed our stay at ACE hotel Kyoto A few things stand out: the gym is the best we have seen, great equipment and unbelievable view. A pleasure to workout. We had breakfast included, which is a right decision there is no nearby food choices. A few bkfst options to choose from, we tried California set, Japanese set, American etc. all were great and the variety makes it less boring for all travelers. Three other Restuarants on site. The hotel is tucked away a bit, so walking is required to get anywhere. 7 min walk to fish/food market, 8-15 min walk to shijo which is big market for everything. We took uber to other destinations such as shrines and geisha district. If walking is a challenge, this may not be the hotel of choice. We actually don’t mind the walking.

Super cool hotel- highly recommend it if you want to stay somewhere stylish, comfortable, spacious and away from the crazy touristy crowds in Kyoto. Our family enjoyed our short stay and the coffee shop, boutique shopping right downstairs is fabulous and we were super close to train line. Stay here if you want to stay in downtown Kyoto!

We had accomodation in Kyoto however it was not suitable. I had seen Ace Hotel previously when looking and decided to see if we could get two nights for two adults and two kids on that day. We were fortunate and found a room. The check in process is great, staff are so helpful with requests or bookings. Wish we had more time here and the food at the restaurants are delicious. Service was 11/10. Rooms are spacious and very clean.

식사가 뷔페식이 아니라 놀랬는데 맛있고 양도 나쁘지 않았다. 위치가 좋아 주요 관광지까지 편하게 다닐 수 있다. 건물이 아름다웠다. 높은 층에서 보이는 전망도 좋았다. 쇼핑몰도 고급스러웠다. 샤워시설이 넓고 깨끗했다. 직원들이 친절하고 영어에 능숙했다.

청소하는 직원이 내 샤워타월을 버려서 아쉬웠습니다. 호텔 슬리퍼가 찾기 어려운 곳에 비치되어 있어 여행 중반에서야 발견했습니다.

The location and the coffee shop were great. The room was spacious and quiet.

The bathroom tiles needed a deep clean, as soon as the wet room became steamy you could see it was not properly clean. The service could be better - I made a request in my booking which was confirmed, but not actioned. I politely spoke to the team on the day of checking in and it was still not resolved during our stay. This was disappointing.

Spectacular! We loved everything about this hotel - from the exceptional staff to the well-appointed and spacious room to the fine dining experience - I would highly recommend to anyone coming to this area. It is conveniently located near public transportation and a breeze to connect to all parts of Kyoto. We booked this venue through our travel agent and are sending her much kudos for finding this amazing spot with wonderful ambiance and quiet time for rest. We are not sure of the price but the stay was priceless! Our only regret is having to leave it so soon. Three days were not enough time but we appreciated every moment spent at the Ace Hotel Kyoto!

Ace Hotels are always a favourite - brilliant design with great food and comfy rooms. Loved everything about the facilities, location and rooms! Walking distance from a lot of places we wanted to hit, as well as surrounded by great food.

No notes - perfect stay

This was a surprisingly spacious place to base our family for several days in Kyoto. Easy access to two train lines so you can get everywhere, plus walking distance to the most famous markets and shopping. A good selection of on site restaurants came in handy when needed. Don't go in expecting a traditional Japanese set up.

This hotel a little gem in the heart of Kyoto but somehow not too crowded (maybe price point is a bit high?) - amazing restaurant and the Bar - the cocktails are really good! They welcome dogs (and cats i beleive) and crate and pet bed with all amenities was in place for our dog. Inform the hotel when you make the booking - not all the room are available when you bring your pet. The vinyl player in every room and the choice of record you can choose from is insane - such a special moment. I wish we had stayed a bit longer - definitely coming back when we are in Kyoto again. Staff is also really helpful and friendly. Hight recommended!

Breakfast was delicious, we enjoyed every morning! Location was very central and easy to get to, also close to great shopping and other local activities.

Can’t think of one thing

Excellent location for any kind of trip to Kyoto. For us, this was the perfect accommodation to make our day trip to Nara in between Inuyama and Kinosaki onsen town. Didn’t even realize there was a pathway to the Karisama subway beneath the hotel until we checked out and were on our way to Kinosaki. The staff was extremely friendly and fun to talk to. The hipster vibe also made the stay fun and the large room, bedding and linens still felt upscale. We received top welcome from the manager and ended up having the 5 course and the 6 course set dinners at Mr. Italian. This was a real treat. Contemporary, fun, excellent preparation and I loved the rooftop setting. East short walk to Nishiki market and all downtown Kyoto sites. The surrounding shops are Ginza level and even a stand alone Le Labo unexpectedly in the plaza. Funky coffee shop and a small Beams. I would definitely stay here again. Japanese Breakfast set was on point.

部屋に寝巻きが無かったので驚いた。櫛、ブラシも。フロントに連絡したらすぐに持ってきてもらえたけれど、チェックインの際にアメニティなどについて丁寧な説明が無かったことが残念。

Stylish hotel in a perfect location if arriving by train or taxi. Friendly, helpful staff. Fab cafe on the ground level and the hotel is surrounded by beautiful eateries and shops. Easy to walk to most areas of Kyoto. A must do is eat at Tominojo (shabushabu/sukiyaki) - so fun!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly and were always available to help with any questions. The room was lovely, modern and clean. Location was perfect close to everything. There were multiple dining options on site however with so many cheaper and good options outside the hotel I would definitely go out to eat. P It had a great vibe to the hotel though and was really cool stay.

We spent 4 nights at the Ace Hotel in Kyoto. Rooms were well....roomy, great bed, quiet and I have to say probably the best shower head I have ever experienced in a hotel. The hotel is well located, close to the subway, shopping and tons of restaurants. Front desk staff were attentive and some were very knowledgeable, all very helpful. I would stay here again if in Kyoto.

Room had the moquette and there is no way to open the windows, so you can't get fresh air, which after a while it is really bad.

The room itself was clean and relatively spacious for Japan, which is the only reason this review is not even lower. However, almost everything else was disappointing. Breakfast was included, yet every morning felt like a struggle. Guests had to wait in line and were then offered only a handful of preset choices. The selection was extremely limited, lacked variety, and fell far below what I would expect from a hotel in this price range. The lobby was another major disappointment. Instead of feeling like a hotel, it felt more like a public co-working space. A large communal table occupied the center of the lobby, and people seemed to be working there all day and night. It created a crowded, impersonal atmosphere and completely took away the sense of comfort and relaxation that many travelers look for. Attention to detail was also lacking. Providing toothpaste in tiny single-use sachets with barely enough for one brushing felt cheap and careless. Small details matter, and this hotel seemed to overlook them. Clean rooms alone are not enough to justify a stay. Hospitality is about the entire guest experience, and unfortunately this property falls short in several important areas. Despite the cleanliness of the room, I would definitely not stay here again and would not recommend it to travelers expecting a comfortable hotel experience.

I would defiantly not recommend this hotel. The odor in the hall and the room was horrible!! The blankets and the sofa in the room were disgusting ! Scratchy thick wool that looked like they were never cleaned. I would not even sit on the sofa.

We stayed for four nights for part of our honeymoon and loved our time there. The reception staff was incredibly friendly and when we arrived they had already moved our bags up to our room. They left a welcome gift for us in the room to celebrate. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We also had a delicious breakfast each morning served in a very serene atmosphere. The hotel location is great – very easy to walk to several sites while still being in a peaceful and quiet area. And only a short walk to two different subway lines, making it easy to use the subway system. We would definitely return here when travelling to Kyoto again!

Restaurants and coffee shops are great. It would be amazing if they had a spa Loves the bikes - a great way to get around Peaceful but buzzy in the right areas (rooftop bar)

We had a great 3-night stay at Ace. Lobby is beautiful architecturally and buzzy. Stumptown Coffee Roasters is usually busy but makes a great brew. We’re way too old for the nightly DJ events but enjoyed seeing them, and we couldn’t hear a peep in our room even though we were on the same floor. Our room was large and well-appointed, including the fun selection of vinyl LPs. (And after we listened to them, we checked out more from the front desk library.) Front desk was always friendly and helpful, including with laundry and shipping a bag onward. Their restaurant Kosa is too small capacity for breakfast, arrive first thing or be prepared to wait in a long line; the good thing is there are many other food options a short walk away. (We liked IMAYA Kyoto & COFFEE.) One nice thing about Ace is that the main entrance is on a quiet side street just off a main thoroughfare, which made it very easy to summon taxis (GO app) and load/unload calmly. Ace was a great base for our time in Kyoto; we would happily stay there again.
