Le bruit de la pluie est fort et pourrait déranger les gens. Mais des boules quies sont proposées directement dans la chambre donc ce n'est pas un problème.

L’accoglienza è un po’ veloce. Non c’è la possibilità di consumare il pasto in loco, come di solito si fa nei ryokan, e questo va tenuto presente quando si prenota.

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026Staff molto gentile, stanza e bagni (in comune) puliti, cucina attrezzata. La struttura è molto caratteristica, così come la stanza tradizionale. Forniscono lo yukata per dormire (i miei figli erano felicissimi) e regalano un asciugamano. Bellissimo

Although it is pleasant enough, it is expensive for what you get especially with a shared bathroom and compared to what we have experienced in other parts of Japan. Check in is quite late at 4pm plus everyone arrived at once so we had to wait a good half an hour.

This place was nice, we had a Japanese style room where the room has tatami mats and then there are little mattresses on top. I was a little worried that this might not be good for my back but the mattresses were soft and nice and I slept really well.

宿泊日に地震が発生したのでTVがないのが少し不便でした。あとちょっと部屋が暗いかな。

Reviewed Jun 25, 2026This was such a great place. Beautiful room with tatami mats and futon to sleep. We were also provided with yukata to sleep in. Staff nice and helpful. Kindly looked after our bags after check out allowing us to visit Odawara Castle before leaving. The location is convenient, with both the castle area and the beach within walking distance. If anyone wonders there was no issue with sharing the bathroom. A very enjoyable stay and a great way to experience traditional Japanese accommodation.

Reviewed Jun 22, 2026Très belle maison traditionnelle centenaire. On a dormi à 3 sur des futons dans une pièces dont le sol est en tatamis. C’était sympa. Accueil très agréable de l’hôte qui parlait parfaitement anglais.
Comme beaucoup de ces maisons traditionnelles, le soleil entre dans la chambre tôt car il n’y a pas de volet ni de rideaux sombres. Ca a réveillé ma famille mais pas moi.

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillies à notre arrivée. On nous a fait visiter le logement avec les parties communes. La jeune femme qui nous a accueilli nous a recommandé également le restaurant de ramen qui se situe à 1min de l'hôtel et qui est délicieux ! Et surprise : un petit rooftop mignon et smoking area (idéal pour les fumeurs car il y a très peu de smoking area à Odawara). Le côté ryokan est super ! Vraiment ça a son charme tout en ayant un lit à l'occidentale (pour ceux qui appréhende un peu le futon). Attention tout de même au matelas qui peut être un peu sur selon les personnes. Situé dans un quartier calme, il offre un apaisement après une journée mouvementée du côté de Kamakura. Nous n'y sommes restées qu'une nuit, mais il faut savoir qu'il y a pas mal de choses à faire autour dont le château d'Odawara. Et le fait de porter un kimono ou un yukata offre encore une petite touche traditionnelle au séjour !

Reviewed May 20, 2026Ich wollte in Japan unbedingt mal in einem Ryokan übernachten, aber am Boden schlafen, ist nicht so meins. Im Ryokan Plum in Odawara fand ich die perfekte Lösung: Ryokan, aber mit super Doppelbett für mich allein. Das Hotel ist zu Fuss 9 Minuten vom Bahnhof Odawara gelegen und ca. 7 Minuten von den Izakayas und dem lebhaften Treiben in der Stadt entfernt. Die Burg ist auch ca. 7 Minuten zu Fuss entfernt. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt im Ryokan Plum. Ich wurde äusserst freundlich empfangen und betreut. Sogar mein Koffer hat die liebenswürdige Frau am Empfang für mich in den 1. Stock hochgeschleppt. Es steht eine kleine Küche zur Verfügung, Kaffee und Tee gibt es kostenlos. Die Etagen-Toilette ist sauber, für Raucher hat es eine kleine Lounge draussen. Im EG gibt es ein Dusche/Bad, ein Waschbecken und Toiletten. Ich fand die Atmosphäre im alten Haus sehr schön, gute Vibes vom Haus und den Menschen drin. Und dann bewacht natürlich die Katze noch ständig das Haus. Mein Zimmer war für japanische Verhältnisse echt gross, mit Klimaanlage und genügend Steckdosen. Ein Frotteetuch habe ich zur Erinnerung geschenkt bekommen. Es war warmherzig und schön hier. Ich werde Odawara und das Ryokan Plum in bester Erinnerung und im Herzen bewahren.

Très vieux bâtiment donc il faut parler en chuchotant et marcher sur la pointe des pieds. Suppléments à payer lorsqu’on voyage avec des enfants pour avoir futons et serviette même s’ils sont mentionnés sur booking lors de la réservation (ce n’est arrivé nul part ailleurs au Japon où les équipe et pour nos enfants ont été compris dans le tarif), mais nous avons accepté.

Il est possible de déposer ses bagages dès le matin, ils sont gardés et stockés jusqu’à ce que l’on puisse accéder à la chambre, très pratique.

Staying in the Mikan room was amazing, facilities were great and lovely informative staff. We will be recommending to everyone and we hope we can come back again!

Reviewed Mar 18, 2026Der var ingen morgenmad på stedet, men masser af muligheder i umiddelbar nærhed. Personalet var super søde og imødekommende og var særdeles opmærksomme og rigtig gode til engelsk. Det er et helt unikt og særligt hotel.
Lydisoleringen mellem værelserne var tålelig, men da huset er over 100 år gammelt, er det svært at gøre noget ved. Men til gengæld meget charmerende og kun fire værelser på hele hotellet. Fælles toilet var okay, men havde været dejligt med sit eget.

On the booking.com website it says NZ $191 per night for 2 people. But we were advised that this was only for one person so we're charged an extra $30 per night. This might need to be changed on the website.

Reviewed Feb 25, 2026Perfect for our family of 3. Our 13 year old son slept on the sofa bed- all linen was provided. The ryokan is an easy walk from the train station and even closer to a large number of restaurants and cafes. The bed was super comfortable with crisp clean white sheets and every little detail has been thought of- towels, amenities, tea and coffee, and a simple system that allows guests to self reserve a time slot to use the shared bathroom. Riki was super professional and helpful and her communication in English was excellent.

Reviewed Feb 23, 2026La nostra prima volta in un ryokan. L'ambiente era molto affascinante e arredato con stile. Le ragazze della reception gentilissime, ci hanno spiegato tutto nel dettaglio e si sono anche offerte di prenotare per noi il ristorante per la cena. A disposizione caffè e tè.
Il bagno (toilet) riservato alla nostra camera è da ristrutturare e un po' freddo. Gli altri bagni della struttura erano invece rinnovati.

Reviewed Feb 22, 2026Super nice manager who helped us retrieve lost items from the JR train. The place is super clean, and easy to get to from Odwara station. We stayed in a room that fit three people. It had a queen-size bed and sofa bed. They provided pajamas and also toiletries. It was spacious. It was nice to have a kitchen, and the shared bathroom was never an issue for us! There is also a super cute cat outside. For the price, it was totally worth it. We stayed in the area to visit Hakone, it is easy to get to the station.
Because it is shared, keep in mind the noise during certain hours. This is understandable!
