Great value, so close to Heathrow T5. Used the pods both ways, an unique way to travel to hotel. Definitely stay again on our travels.

All good for us, for the price no complaints.

Right next to Pod parking so getting to and from terminal 5 is very easy. Rooms were clean

Lots of early risers due to flights can be noisy as you expect!

Clean and tidy, staff were amazing.

There were some steps to the room, otherwise easy access.

24/7 staff at reception. Friendly and helpful. Bed and bathroom clean (but see photos of - cupboards and corridors). Hospitality tray. Fridge. Slept well (room was far from party in restaurant/bar). 24/7 self-service shop with necessaries.

***No lift*** for a hotel near the airport, people are going to have larger bags !!! Room far away (with more stairs) - felt as if it would’ve been quicker to walk to T5 across the runway! Decor a bit tired. Pods were out of service - the reason I chose the Thistle were the pods . Didn’t want to walk up to the bus stop at 5am so took taxi :£30!!!

The room was very comfortable and well appointed.

There were no lifts and we had to drag our suitcases up two flights of stairs.

Location…. Not on the hotel shuttle route, no direct bus to the airport… taxi is about $20-25 each way … we spent way too much time and money getting to and from the airport. They shouldn’t say they are “terminal 5” in their ads

If they could just get their booking staff sorted. It took 2 calls to get a carpark with the first call saying none available talk to reception then the line went dead. The 2nd call I was told sure no problem they sent me a link and I booked 2 nights car parking. Very stressful.

No lift, which went you have a baby and lots of luggage is a nightmare! No one to help either. The bar/resteraunt on site had an issue and wasn't serving food one evening which wasnt great. Room is a little dated

Although the facitilies were nice it can be a bit noisy if you have a room by reception.

The car pod feature taking us to airport at the end of the trip was unique and fun.

They don't have a lift and we had to drag our suitcases over multiple flights of stairs. A hotel catering to airport should have lifts as people will have considerable luggage. The staff helped carry the suitcases up but we had to bring it down ourselves.

Excellent place to stay with direct access to the airport. The restaurant was good with a view of the planes taking off. And reasonably priced.

They could use a lift to get up to the room.

We used the Thistle following a trip to Japan for a 1 night stay. The pod transfer from Terminal 5 was simple and easy to use. The staff were very pleasant on arrival and throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent super hot plates too.

Only issue, no plug in the sink and the shower head was fixed at a height for a very short person!

Location was ok. I wish I’d booked Premier Inn over the road.

Very dated. Fire alarm in the middle of the night was unfortunate.

The hotel is very conveniently located. The room was small but very nice. The towels were plush, much better than most hotels so far on this trip. The rooms are very well insulated for sound, and I could barely hear the planes taking off and landing. The breakfast was worth the price and very convenient; also, the food was good.

Decor was very worn and the room very dark and small. Long way from reception to room. Noise from corridors high. Cost was high when compared to other airport hotrls stayed jn. Also pods out of action on arrival had to get avery packed bus which only run every 20 mins and it was a very unpleasant experince with large suitcases and the walk to the hotel enterance long

We wanted to book somewhere to stay for one night near Heathrow Terminal 5 because we had an early flight the next day. The Thistle Hotel was ideal because it was easy to get to and from either by a local TfL bus or by the hotel pod. The hotel staff even gave us a table for an evening meal, even though we did not have a reservation. I appreciated having a kettle in the room and the complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.

Very functional room layout - perfectly fine for a short stay airport hotel. Very quiet and restful at night. Air conditioning was a bonus. Very handy for T5 arrivals and departures- the pod system is amazing. Staff were most welcoming.

The pod is a fun experience. Staff are all friendly and attentive - the room was reasonably comfortable albeit a bit dated.

The exterior really needs some work and the bar feels a bit cheap and dated. The price of the snacks and drinks in the shop is also a complete rip off.

The Thistle Hotel met all my expectations; the room was lovely and spacious. Samantha on Reception was brilliant. It was arranged for me and a friend to have a late departure as coming back from New York that morning was very tiring. Samantha didn’t stop there! She walked to the car helping us with our bags and that was a big help. The restaurant was also amazing as I had a wonderful view of all Terminal 5 including the planes taking off! All in all, a fantastic stay.

Great place to stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable with Aircon. Bar and restaurant were very good, with a nice selection of food and drink at reasonable prices. Perfect place to stay before flying out from Heathrow Terminal 5.

No lift! What sort of airport hotel seriously expects guests to lug 2 heavy cases up 2 flights of stairs, round a labrynth of corridors, back down half a flight, then a long corridor walk? The automated check-in meant that nobody gave us any info that we could have queried. I asked front desk staff to book the restaurant for 7:45 and was told ‘no need, just turn up, you’ll be fine’ - we got to the restaurant to be told they were full and I should have booked. If this is what top Genius level gets me, I’ll book elsewhere.

Location was brilliant, it was so easy to get to our early morning check in.

Interior of the room was pretty dated and smelt a bit musty, could really do with being freshened up.

I was charged twice to park there, I messaged the hotel (who had taken payment), they immediately washed their hands of it and wouldn’t even share details of horizon parking with me. Room was loud and noisy, didn’t get any sleep at all, beds very uncomfortable, ruined the first day holiday as we arrived exhausted.

Close to the airport, which was the main reason we stayed here. Breakfast was ok. The pod to terminal 5 was kinda fun.

The rooms are functional but not great. A standalone old AC unit made a disturbing noise which would change tone every 5 seconds. The carpets looked old, a bit dirty and the room smelled a bit funky.

The location is by T5 Heathrow which makes it a perfect stop before taking the plane. The terrace is facing the runway, it is the best show

We often stay here when travelling from terminal 5 as it is so handy with the pods but the staff let the place down and the rooms are tired.

die Zimmer sind doch etwas in die Jahre gekommen und die Zimmertüren knallen sehr laut zu was für mich störend war. Das durch zu heiss duschen der Feueralarm ( 05.25 Uhr ) ausgelöst werden kann ist schon speziell und habe ich bis jetzt noch in keinem anderen Hotel erlebt

The hotel was great, room was clean and bed was comfy. Marked it down on a couple of points because breakfast was included in the price but didn't start till after we had to leave the hotel. We loved the Pods to the airport, so novel. However at almost £9 a trip (we took it there and back so £18 each) it's not something we will be doing again.

They should factor in how earlier flights mean you may have to leave the hotel much earlier, i.e. a 10am flight means you won't be able to have breakfast. Our flight was at 8am so we had no hope. They could just lay out some baked goods and tea/coffee for guest to help themselves. They really need to do something about the restaurant, it looks tired. The staff all seemed a bit off too, I don't think we saw one smile from any of them.

Room was decent, location was ok, made better by the ability to get to terminal 5 easily by the Pod.

Went for meal in bar/restaurant, paid, and was then told there was only pizza or a sandwich as there was a problem in the kitchen. Couldn't get money back for 45 minutes as staff said they had to wait for someone competent to do a refund, and they were on their break. Went for breakfast in morning but the greasy kitchen type smell was enough for us to wait until we had got to terminal 5.

The location of the hotel was great as I wanted to view the planes. Edna Rodrigues in Guest Relations was VERY helpful. She reserved a runway view room for me. I saw her at the reception desk on my arrival and as I had had to downgrade from a deluxe room (that I had originally booked) in order to get a runway view, she gave me a complimentary drink voucher from the bar as a goodwill gesture. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The view of the airport from the terrace was great.

I thought the decor of the hotel looked a little tired and could do with a freshen up. The water tap in my room (157) was not really functioning properly as the stream of water from the tap was rather slow. . But I could manage.
