When we arrived they chose us to get an upgrade and we got the Kendall suite absolutely amazing , the staff were friendly and polite great help 🙏👍

2 minutes from the M6, just make sure you keep to the left lane if you’re going South. Great staff, easy parking, large beds. The guy behind the bar on Saturday was an absolute legend, and deserves credit for his customer hospitality skills.
The telephone in the bathroom didn’t work. I couldn’t even get a dialling tone. Only joking I thought it was hilarious that it was there.
This is my third visit to this hotel and I can honestly say it is as good as ever. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The choice of food is very good and the overall hotel is excellent and highly recommendable.

Breakfast was very varied and excellent quality. Staff on duty were so helpful to guests I observed
Lovely comfortable room excellent shower
The bar and lounge areas were all great. It was in lovely grounds. Room service was great and the breakfast wonderful. All the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful.
The room was tired and I had two very wobbly bedside tables. Which is a shame because it just needs a bit of an update.
We had to leave upon arrival.
We arrived with our two young children and were immediately faced with a strong smell of adhesive and fumes throughout the corridor and our room. We were told when we checked in that the windows had been replaced that day. Had we known this beforehand, we would not have travelled there, as we would have expected a strong smell from the work. We did not feel the room was safe or suitable to stay in, so we had to leave and arrange alternative accommodation at short notice. The duty manager assured us that the booking would be cancelled and we would receive a full refund, and said the manager would contact us the following day to discuss our complaint. More than two weeks later, we have received neither the refund nor any contact. Booking.com has also confirmed they are waiting for written approval from the hotel to process the refund. Very disappointing, particularly given we were travelling with two small children.
Breakfast was vefy good, coffie and fried egs were excellent
Herd the noise in the room from the tent but it shut ishut off at midnight which was fine
On arrival the staff at reception were lovely.
I ordered a glass of wine at the bar & the glass was covered in lipstick, had to be changed. We (2) had starters, there was a short disgusting black hair in my olives. When I told the waitress she offered to change them. I declined as I was sickened at the thought of it. She said she’d tell the kitchen. We waited just over an hour for our main course. When she was clearing the table I asked her what did the kitchen say? She didn’t know! She came back and offered me a drink or free olives. I chose a wine. She came back & said it would have to be house wine and I said I wouldn’t mix wines. She came back with the same wine which looked to be in the same original glass covered in lipstick! I just poured it into my other glass. The staff in the bar and restaurant give the impression they don’t want to be there.

Lovely location and the restaurant was good. The food was fresh.
The room seemed very dusty like no one had stayed there in months. The carpets were stained, bathroom had hairs etc. the swimming pool area was dated, the whirlpool was covered over out of order.
Enjoyed the comfort of the lounges.
Not enough gluten free food freely available. What was available I had to ask for which resulted in a wait for others also.
The staff went that extra mile nothing was too much my daughter has nut allergie and we eat restrant one night she wanted fish so booked paid the a waiter come over too us who rembered us night before and said fish cooked in nut oil so pick somthing else and the meal was more but he let us have free as wasent our mistake we got drinks free asqell he coulnt appolgise enough . The lady on desk was so kind and friendly cleaners were polite defently be back daughter loved pool.
There nothing about hotel that we did not like

There was no air conditioning in the room even though advertised it did. The food was absolutely shocking. The room was unclean, had flies in it and found bugs in the bed. The fan they provided was full of dust and when we turned it on it blew all over our bed and my partner is allergic to dust. There was a wedding on and our room was right next to the marquee so music and noise until late. Beds were really uncomfortable.
Bedroom was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Easy to find just off m6 nice lounge and conservatory to relax in good choice of food at breakfast
The staff were all friendly and helpful. Parking was free and not £10 a night as advertised.
The rooms were very dated (hideous bathroom with a phone near the toilet!) and bland. There were no ordinary tea bags in the room , just fruit flavours, the coffee sachets tasted like bovril and they and the sugar were all hard as though they were out of date. The bathroom taps had a mind of there own not switching off and warm coming out of the cold, the bathroom door didn’t close fully, the pool was ok but the hot tub was out of order. It was a stay to pick our daughter up from a festival so the area wasn’t really researched but there was nothing much to do in the immediate area. The bedding was clean but the room was quite dusty and the handrails leading up the stairs were sticky - you couldn’t hold them without feeling grossed out. We decided to try the breakfast the first morning and it was poor. Vegetarian sausages were disgusting. Didn’t book for the second day and we didn’t eat in the hotel as the dining room was really old fashioned and again everything felt sticky. Massive wedding on the Saturday night so getting a drink at the bar was impossible. Very disappointed and it’s definitely not a 4 star hotel!!
Frendlp comfortable
Lovely bed, great location near motorway
The staff - all so welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble Very clean hotel
No negatives
Rooms wrre lovely, The food was great, reception staff were excellent.
Location very good and a lovely large room and super large bed with a good bathroom. Always enjoy staying here. Staff lovely too.
Everything was good.
We stayed here the weekend just gone, was meant to be 3 nights however only just made it through 2. The main problem was the unexpected wedding.. we got a room facing the inner courtyard (no problem with the view as we only need the room to sleep and wash in) however we never got warned there was a wedding the following day blasting music up until gone 12am. You would think a hotel of 4/5 star rating would at least offer a warning or maybe even another too away from the scene. This obviously massively affected our sleep considering we were massively tired from the day before. To add onto that, the bed and pillows were rock solid with random hairs if not even pubes found within the bedding. The bathroom wasn’t clean whatsoever, there were hairs everywhere, mirrors dirty, massive crack in bathroom tiles and dust on every surface. Massively disappointing for the price we paid.. £307 for 3 nights in a standard room. Final thing, the location was massively inconvenient, it was much further from everything we thought and there was nothing of use nearby.
Location close to motorway. Quiet room, although at the time of our stay there is a building site next to the hotel opposite our room and site noise could be heard from about 6:30am onwards.
Building site noise.
Welcoming, friendly staff and very facilities included
Just amazing set up with a good atmosphere
Great hotel for a Creamfields stay The Mercure Haydock was perfect for what we needed for a one-night stay while attending Creamfields. There was plenty of parking available, and we were able to check in before 3pm, which was really convenient. Our room was large, clean and comfortable, with a huge bed. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and the hotel was exactly what we needed for a short stay. Would definitely stay here again if we’re back in the area.
Staff were great that were there.
Most areas seemed understaffed. We had to wait a while for breakfast.
Tired, holes in towels, poor drains, sticking bathroom door, non opening window, poor bar service

Excellent friendly staff, complementary upgrade, reasonably priced evenig meal.
Nothing really
It was so luxurious and posh
There’s no lift/elevator!
Quiet
A bit tired
Cleanliness and spacious
Waited a long time for food in the evening and they forgot to bring out daughter’s meal, the food wasn’t bad but the experience does affect your reputation. We went to breakfast at 9.30am and the hot food had been sat there too long. The bacon, eggs and hash browns were hard and not edible. Other breakfast items were ok.
The staff, especially the lady who checked me in, were excellent, so friendly and helpful. I was upgraded free of charge, which was great. I had my dog with me who was made most welcome.
Everything was just fine
The buffet at the wedding was first class one of the best room very good and nice friendly staff
The breskfast was on but the fried breakfadt things were cold and at £16 wasn’t the cheapest

Staff very pleasent and helpfull
Staff were friendly, space in the room was good.
Empty soap dispenser poor and inoperative lighting not so goood and the accommodation is tired. Needs a refresh
Great service, staff were all really helpful and friendly. I was recovering from an operation, so was on crutches, the staff couldn’t have done more to help me during my stay. Thanks
The cleanliness of the rooms was really poor Beds hadn’t been made in 2 of the rooms

We had the nicest stay and were especially impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. The buffet breakfast was especially good and we were able to enjoy a wide range of plant based options … one of the best we have ever had. Thank you to Chelle and Sharon who were our breakfast staff this morning and thank you Tony for all the vegan options.
Lovely drinks !! The staff were really friendly and helpful
Breakfast was good.
Room needs refurbishment.
Location , kind staff
My flush on the toilet didn’t work , I inform them the 2nd date but cause I stay one more night noone fixed it.
Beautiful hotel in stunning grounds. We were upgraded to a suite which was the size of an apartment.
It is a bit isolated from Haydock which is a short drive away. It is right next to the Motorway so does not take long to get back on the road even though it is secluded.
Lovely hotel great customer service Kylie was awesome friendly cheery , full of good spirits 😊 thank you so much we will be back 😀
Staff excellent
Little expensive for what it was
Staff very friendly and room was clean
This is my second stay at mercury with work, I was served by Clair M at the bar how was very hospitable. I always enjoy my stay here
Great location & atmosphere - very spacious suite and food and service was very pleasant and friendly
Really enjoyable stay. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the house keeping was spot on too. A huge shoutout to Samantha on the front desk for her wonderful hospitality and being very helpful for a few questions I had. Would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family.
The outside of the building was attractive.
I got a latte from the coffee machine at breakfast and the milk was so off it was curdled and full of lumps. Unfortunately, i only discovered this after tasting it. When I pointed this out to the staff there was no apology at all. Just that they would change the milk. Very disappointed.
Keira was a top notch server 👍
Very good service and very friendly. Enjoyed the banter
Great location if you want to racing. Friendly, efficient and professional staff. Nice small pool and reasonable gym for a quick travel workout.
A great hotel, Clair M is always cheery and welcoming which is nice after a long drive
Clair m and kyra was both great helped with seating also great services
Claire was very nice and helpful
Lovely hotel for a couple short break. Very reasonably priced too. Very professional check in despite the trainee badge and superb customer service when ordering food and drinks in the Lounge Bar from Clair M.
Checked in approx 7pm. Receptionist was pleasant although cut my key incorrectly which meant I had to walk back down to reception with my luggage to have it recut. Minor inconvenience. Room was perfectly fine, bathroom a little dated but was within expectations. Went to use the leisure facility to be told I needed to go back to the room to bring my own towel down, and advised they don’t give out towels and if they did they would need to charge! Another journey to the room and back. Anyway, proceeded to use the steam room and swam in the pool for 20 mins. Facilities are aging but again suited me fine for the quick time I was there. Went to the bar/restaurant for dinner. To order food it’s bar service, the server Clair was bright and bubbly and took my order and asked me take a seat at my table after serving me my drink. Calamari dish arrived as my starter promptly, it was presented nicely and tasted good. A lovely starter. I was then left waiting for some time and had to interrupt a passing staff member to ask if they could clear my starter plate and call mains away. The beef ragu pasta dish then arrived shortly after. This dish was disappointing, was hoping the beef would’ve been soft and tender but it was hard and chewy. The sauce was also bland, nothing offensive but to me not good value for the best part of £20. Writing this before breakfast so fingers crossed all goes well that!!
The staff, room and breakfast were all very high standard. The hotel was very clean and the room was large and airy.
Nothing for the hotel. It was very busy and the other guests were very noisy and inconsiderate to other people sleeping.
Clean and great staff

Handy for the Motorway & East Lancashire Road, place I needed to get to, fairly quiet
Having to pay everything by card
Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Bar food was very good
It was unfortunate that I stayed when two weddings were taking place. One of which started outside of my window very early. With this came a lot of banging of doors, shouting down the corridor and kids running up and down the corridor. Also, one of the towels in my room was still extremely dirty with something very unpleasant. Fortunately I was on my own and the second towels.was ok.
The property in itself was beautiful and in a beautiful location.
staying in the privilege suite adding an extra £36.80 to our booking I don’t feel it was good value for money. I was led to believe this suite had 2 separate rooms which wasn’t the case, the cleanliness of the room wasn’t great finding toe nails on the carpet and crumbs at the back of the bed.
The staff were lovely and it had everything we needed. You could tell the property was a little older but well looked after
The bed was uncomfortable No fridge in room

We have Stayed at this hotel twice. The whole reason why we choose to stay again at this Hotel was because of one particular staff member on Reception. Her Name was Sarah and we were delighted to meet her again on our second visit. Sarah is very professional and her customer service is absolutely brilliant. We really enjoyed our whole visit and will definitely be staying again.
We enjoyed everything
Glass of bubbly on arrival
Bar staff were particularly slow and one was rude when finally getting service
Everything
Nothing
Location, room size and comfort, staff were pleasant and welcoming.
They have a very irritating system of requiring electronic room cards to open the doors between floors and on several occasions the card failed leaving us stranded in the staircase area with nowhere to go. Banging on the door eventually brought a room maid to open it. Either stop this practice (the outer doors are locked anyway so non-guests can’t get in) or make sure it works properly. Nice spa facility but hot tub not working during our visit.

Parking
Very slow service.
Had everything we wanted including a swimming pool & spa. Location is a bit remote but that was fine for what we wanted.
No complaints
Good parking looks nice on arrival
Poor quality of food , from restaurants, prices expensive lack of staff and service , foul language used behind bar by staff and in front of customers, regarding the room the sink was blocked , and carpet was worn thin . For the price paid very disappointing . Positive side breakfast was good .
It was amazing facilities
We had a band playing all night and in the morning at 6am people packing up and it woke us up and we couldn’t sleep
Breakfast buffet was good, staff friendly.
Air-conditioning not working in the room in hot weather. Window was stuck open as a result, M6 road noise quite loud. Bar food was a bit disappointing, burger one evening and fish and chips the other.
Location and facilities
Stay was fine
Lovely staff on the front desk.
A mat for the bath would have made me feel more secure when having a shower.
Very comfortable bed, comfortable temperature in room
Jacuzzi out of action. Towels were £2 per towel charge at the pool when previously it has been free. Breakfast room staff were slow to greet us and not very enthusiatic. Cooked breakfast was not as hot as it should be and the plates were not warm.
Evening meal was very good although my first choice was not available-staff were very friendly and helpul-nice outside space to sit out -large lounge.-all good.
Did not notice a lift to second floor -had to use stairs.
