Staff were amazing food was good beds comfy room good size large free car park easy to find enjoyable stay so much so stayed overnight on return journey too

Pick your days as incredibly busy over racing days at Haydock Park however wasn't noisy in rooms just n communal areas

We've stayed here several times. Check in staff are very warm and helpful. Rooms especially deluxe rooms well equipped.

We asked for a quiet room but were placed on a corridor with lots of families and a dog that woke us in the early hours. We stayed for an extra night extending our stay to 3 nights in the same room. We arrived back late evening and the room had not been cleaned or made up. The receptionist was exceptional and brought us up clean cups and tea and milk for the morning.

It was the perfect location to get to haydock races

Carpet in room wet the room was freezing as my husband is disabled tried to put heating on wouldn’t come on then fire alarm went off at 12.30 am abd we had to leave hotel it was raining and freezing i only booked for him because of spa and i need a break had to drive hone nearly 200 miles next day because he difnt sleep and he said he was feeezing all night and they washed caroet still wet abd smell of urine of it

Booked this property on the basis of them having EV charging as it was an overnight stay with kids on a long journey. Arrived to be told that the EV chargers were “installed but not switched on”. We were left with no choice but to find elsewhere to stay with chargers available. I have lodged a complaint with Booking.com but I am told they have received no response from the property at all.

Looked newer in the photos; the room needs a renovation, a deep clean of the carpets and curtains, and the mattress was very uncomfortable and soft. The sofa bed mattress was even worse. There were several areas in the bathroom where parts of the wall filler/plaster were missing, including around the toilet roll holder. There was also a hole in the wall near the toilet flush button.

Room smelled very musty so had to open windows . Went in the restaurant for evening meal and had to wait a long time to order due to staff stood about chatting. Ordered two meals consisting of bacon chop with cold chips and peas ,missing the egg that should have come with it. I don’t think we will stay in this hotel again although previously had no problem .the staff are letting this hotel down .didnt see an active duty manager unless they were stood about chatting also

Location to haydock racecourse was very good

The staff were very helpful. The pool was very nice. Breakfast was good with a good variety of options. Access to and from the hotel was good with plenty of free parking space available.

The hotel is tired and needs a revamp. The sofa bed was not ready upon arrival (as requested) and then it transpired that it was broken, so we had to change rooms. It would have been nice to have a small fridge and safety deposit box in the room but I guess you get what you pay for. There was no suitcase stand in the room so we had to request one from another room.

couldn’t fault anything. the hotel was super clean - from the windows, toilet floors, wardrobe etc. the service and cleanliness was impressive. i’ve been to expensive hotels who fail to even meet the bare minimum, but this hotel went beyond that. the reception women were attentive, informative and super warm and i really appreciated that.

it’s not a problem but the corridors isn’t as new as the downstairs lobby.

Great customer service shown by Jake upon check in. There was a minor problem with the room as we waited about 6-7 hours for someone to open the inter connecting door, however Jake put this right. Always have a great time staying at this hotel. Only negative experience about this visit was the customer service shown by a member of staff behind the bar after check in. Did not manage to get her name, I asked if we could keep some drinks in the fridge to keep cool, she advised it was not allowed as they might cause cross contamination. I just don’t understand how unopened cans of Diet Coke would cause this. Could tel she was not bothered at all.

Sink stopper did not allow water to drain away. No porridge for breakfast. Dishes were not cleared away from our table as we were eating at breakfast.

Booked Dinner and B&B. Was told at reception this was a 3 course meal. At dinner was told it was £25 which covered 2 courses. This needs to be clarified as 3 course or £ 25 credit.

Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast selection was good and food was tasty. Hotel was easy to find and just a short distance off the M6, so very convenient.

Rooms were a bit tired and could do with a bit of a refresh. Restaurant was a bit disorganised in the evening and not a very exciting menu. Granted, some menu items were unavailable due to a supply issue, but the food we did order was very mediocre and disappointing. My husband said his Chicken Tikka Masala was the worst he'd ever tasted. There were no other restaurants in the immediate vicinity, so due to having small children and having had a long journey that day, we were stuck with the hotel restaurant.

The swimming pool is a absolute bonus especially as the heaven opened. It's a perfect place central to wigan warriors, wigan town st helens or Knowsley safari Park. Morgan was excellent in restaurant organisation touches for my sons birthday. And Jake in reception is the best nothing too much if you Neaded anything he sorted it.

The hotels proximity to the race course was convenient for the Red on 12 event that I was attending. The staff at breakfast on the Sunday were attentive.

The room was far too hot with the fan system not working and one window broken with the other unable to open more than a few inches. Bed was also not great. None of us slept for more than 5 hours on either night of our stay and woke feeling terrible. The bathroom door was broken from water damage and it had no lock on it. The shower screen was also broken and hazardous, causing water to flood the floor when in use as the bottom seal was missing. Despite booking the room for 3 people, there were only provision for 2 guest in the tea and coffee given. Breakfast timing is from 0730 on Saturday which is late if you are using the hotel to attend an event or function. When I enquired if we could get a cold option earlier, or use a toaster, I was told it was impossible. Terrible customer service from a hotel chain.

This hotel is what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn: comfortable, clean, with good facilities. The room was big. Staff are helpful.

The hotel is an anonymous new building with not much in the way of character. The location is convenient for the M6 but don't expect beautiful or interesting surroundings. My after dinner walk was through the car park and along a busy road... The restaurant was ok, but my Caesar Salad was drowned in far too much sauce which was a shame.

I use this hotel whenever we are in the area because it is always exceptional. It’s the staff who make it.

This is a fairly standard commercial hotel close to the M6 motorway and met my needs when travelling south from Scotland. Breakfast was excellent!

My three comments were that the restaurant food was poor. The Nachos starter was certainly acceptable but the Chicken, Leek and Ham Hough Pie was almost inedible with a concrete like topping and a very soggy bottom and very limited filling, masked with plenty of creamy mash and well cooked green vegetables (no complaint about them). Secondly, the bar only stocked high value spirits with equally high prices and lastly, there was plastic litter left in the corridor when I arrived which was not collected by the night porter which shows a lack of care. I may use the hotel again because if its location but I shall eat elsewhere.

Location perfect for our trip and staff were super helpful giving a £20 reduction to the price as the electric vechile charger was not working.

Ideal location for where we visited

Old furnishings in the bedrooms, paint work all scuffed in the bathroom, the bathroom smelt of wee, which we did report and was sorted but for £117 this was not value for money.

Location and aircon worked Jaqueline at the breakfast was fabulous and very hard working picking up the slack from the staff waiting around doing nothing.

Our stay was perfect as the location was right next to the racecourse for the harry potter event and it was excellent value for money. We will definitely be back!

Forgot to take a note of the lady that checked us in around 14.00 on 15/08/26. Her customer service was exceptional and she went beyond and above. She realised we are frequent stayers at the hotel and provided us with a complimentary drinks voucher which was not expected.

This hotel is in an excellent location, 30-40mn drive from the beach in Formby/Liverpool. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely care about their guests. Our room was comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed for a great stay. The restaurant food was fantastic, we would highly recommend including breakfast and dinner. We also enjoyed the excellent swimming pool and gym facilities. As a bonus, the hotel is highly dog-friendly; the staff even brought water for our dogs during meals, which was a wonderful touch. It is exactly as described and perfect for a short staycation. We had a brilliant stay and would definitely book again!

The hotel room wasn’t clean at all there was tobacco on the table , muck in various parts of the carpet and toilet had poo and wee stains on it. Various damage and dirt all over the walls of the room.

I was allocated room 124, which is next to the gym and swimming pool. Unfortunately, I had an awful night’s sleep due to the door in that area constantly banging every time someone walked past. I was woken up several times throughout the night, making it difficult to get any proper rest. I’d recommend either improving the door mechanism to prevent it from slamming or avoiding allocating this room to guests unless they specifically request it.

Location, it was near motorway to get easy access to Liverpool and easy access north in the morning we left. Loved the pool, sauna and steam room. Bar food was great too and good value for money. Comfortable two day stay.

Only tea and coffee in room, no hot chocolate for kids so my teenage daughter had nothing to drink in the room and no wee biscuit packets which his very common in most hotel rooms we have stayed in.

Amazing facilities. The bedroom was spacious, clean and the staff were so friendly. We stayed here for 1 night and really wish we had booked it for longer. Would 1000% suggest this hotel for families with children! I will be leaving a big review on trip advisor about our amazing experience. Also as a parent with a child with allergies the gluten free breakfast station was excellent!

TV poor, carpet in room soaked with mop water bye the smell of it, no real sorry or response of we will make it right for you. Couches in lobby need fabric cleaner. Coffee machine poor at breakfast, horrible coffee. Manager looked really miserable.
